AMD Ryzen 9 9950X Review: A Powerhouse With Some Surprises

After reviewing the Ryzen 5 9600X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 9 9900X, we finally got to testing the Ryzen 9 9950X. We raised concerns about the lowered power limits of those three CPUs, but the 9950X retains the 7950X 170W rating of its predecessor. Will that help it show better gains, or are we in for a surprise? Let’s find out.

As with the remaining Zen 5 CPUs (so far), we have decreased base clock speeds (by 200 MHz) and a bump in the L1 cache (1280 KB vs 1024 KB). The CPU launched at $649 ($50 less than its predecessor) and is now down to $599 following underwhelming sales numbers.

We’ve covered the best hardware to pair with the 9950X in case you’re planning on buying the chip:

Architectural Improvements

AMD Zen 5 architecture foundation
AMD Zen 5 core foundation (Image Credits: AMD)

Here’s a brief overview of some key architectural tunings responsible for the 16% IPC uplift of Zen 5:

  • Processing nodeThe Zen 5 cores are based on the TSMC 4nm node, and the overall transistor count for the chip has increased.
  • Front-end: AMD’s “next-gen” branch predictor features improved accuracy and throughput. The instruction cache latency and bandwidth are enhanced, and a dual decode path is being used.
  • Dispatch and Execute: Zen 5 also features a wider dispatch/retire for more bandwidth. There are 6 ALUs (vs. 4), 3 multipliers, and a unified ALU scheduler. The execution window is larger than Zen 4.
  • AVX-512 support: AMD has incorporated a full 512-bit datapath for AVX-512 instead of the double-pumped 256-bit path of Zen 4. There are 6 pipelines with two-cycle latency FADD, and the number of FP instructions in flight has ultimately improved.
  • Data bandwidth enhancement: Improvements have been made to the data bandwidth for the L1 cache and floating point unit at double the rate. Data prefetching has also been improved.

Platform Changes

AMD 800 series chipset family
AMD 800 series chipset family (Image Credits: AMD)

The key changes to the platform include the new AMD 800 series chipset family, which introduces us to X870E, X870, B850, and B840 chipsets. B840 resembles A620, while X870 matches B650 in specs (except for its mandatory USB 4 connection).

We also get support for DDR5-8000, JEDEC-5600 memory out of the box, and improved memory overclocking capabilities (including on-the-fly overclocking). Moreover, the new Curve Shaper feature will allow for more optimized adjustment to the V-F curve of Curve Optimizer.

Design And Unboxing

The CPU’s box follows the same design as its predecessor generation.

The chip design is the same as well.

Test Bench

For testing, here’s our bench:

Here’s the Ryzen 9 9950X on our test bench:

9950X Installed
9950X Installed

A look at the CPU-Z screenshot of the chip:

Testing Methodology

  • Each test was run at the Auto/Stock settings.
  • No default performance mode was enabled in the BIOS.
  • EXPO was used for the memory, and we manually set the DRAM timings and voltage.
  • All other voltages were left on the Auto.
  • Cooling fans and pump were kept at maximum RPM.
  • The GPU was run at factory settings.
  • The motherboard BIOS was updated to the latest version.
  • Nvidia driver version used was 517.48.
  • All sensors were monitored using HWiNFO.

General Benchmarks

To start, here are the general benchmarks.

The performance in general tests was a mixed bag. In compression/decompression and Super pi, the results were good but not great. Meanwhile, the CPU showed breakthrough performances in wPrime and AIDA64 encryption.

Rendering Benchmarks

Overall, the rendering performance is excellent—just what you would expect from the 16-core, 170-watt beast. Single-core performance is top-notch, although, in Geekbench 5, its multi-core performance lead over the much cheaper Core i7-14700KF wasn’t very impressive!

Gaming Performance (1080P)

Let’s look at the gaming performance, tested at 1080P resolution and the Ultra preset (or equivalent). The list of tested games:

  • Alan Wake 2
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Elder Ring
  • F1 2024
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Spider-Man Remastered
  • Starfield
  • The Last Of Us 2
Ryzen 9 9950X vs competitors 1080P gaming
1080P gaming performance (Image by Tech4Gamers)

Well, the nightmare continues for Ryzen 9000. The relative gaming performance is a complete disappointment, and all the Zen 5 CPUs we’ve tested so far are sitting within a 9-FPS margin of each other in 1080P gaming. That is, a $279 CPU churning out only 9 FPS less than a $599 one.

When we tested the 9600X and 9700X, the power limits seemed to be a limitation, and removing them showed that productivity performance was indeed being held back. The Ryzen 9 9950X performs fairly well in those multi-threaded benchmarks, but gaming performance hasn’t been helped. Perhaps it has to do with Windows 11 not handling the CPU’s branch prediction very well, but this is where we’re standing right now, with the CPU in some sort of bottleneck

Thermals and Power

Finally, a look at thermal performance and power consumption:

Ryzen 9 9950X thermals and power consumption Cinbench R23
Thermals and power (Image by Tech4Gamers)

Testing the power consumption during a 30-minute Cinbench R23 multi-core test, the Ryzen 9 9950X consumed 202 watts on average, normal numbers for its 170W rating. The thermal efficiency is, again, quite impressive! It peaked at just 72C while consuming this power. Compared to the 120W 9900X, only a 3C difference.

Meanwhile, it looks even more impressive if you compare it to the 14700KF (which the 9950X beat comprehensively in Cinebench R23). The bottom line is that AMD is still killing it in the efficiency department.

Should You Buy It?

Still in confusion? Let me break it down for you.

Buy It If

✅ You’re looking for top-level productivity performance: For productivity workloads, it really doesn’t get better than the Ryzen 9 9950X.

✅ Single-core performance is important: In single-core performance, too, the Ryzen 9 9950X is one of the best CPUs on the market right now.

✅ You need AVX-512 support: The Ryzen 9 9950X is ideal for AI applications and other applications utilizing AVX-512, thanks to its native support for the instructions set.

✅ Efficiency is a priority: The Ryzen 9 9950X consumes a fair bit of power, but still much lower than the Intel chips it competes with. Moreover, it runs relatively cool despite its 170W rating.

Don’t Buy It If

❌ You need a gaming CPU: The 9950X gaming performance is nearly identical to its lower-end Ryzen 9000 brothers. For gaming, the 7800X3D will serve you best, while for a mix of gaming and productivity, I’d recommend the 14700K/14900K.

❌ Budget is limited: At $599, the pinnacle of Zen 5 is sure to put a dent in your wallet.

My Thoughts

The Ryzen 9 9950X is great, but there are better CPUs out there. It faces the same problems as its little brothers, as the gaming performance has hardly improved over its predecessor. The price (despite a $50 cut) is still too high, and Intel’s 14900K is still cheaper (albeit marginally). However, I’d still recommend it if the gaming performance was a bit better.

It is the only CPU to retain its predecessor’s TDP rating (170W) and can consume around 200 watts or more, but its thermal efficiency is superb. We had no problems taming the CPU with our DeepCool Mystique 360mm cooler, as it peaked at 72C during a full 30-minute Cinebench load. Rest assured, cooling the CPU will require a capable cooler, but not a super premium one.

Those were the talking points: productivity performance, gaming performance, price, and thermal efficiency. The 9950X nails productivity performance and thermal efficiency, but the remaining two fields, not so much. If your budget is this high, I’d recommend getting the 14900K. If you’re solely gaming, the 7800X3D will serve you far better and is much cheaper.

Closer Look

It is time to take a closer look at the components starting with the radiator itself.

Radiator

The radiator is made of aluminum. The assembly is white-sprayed. The radiator measures 397x120x27mm, which is almost a standard size. The overall dimension is 397x120x52mm with 120x25mm fans.

It has a 20 FPI count and 12x channels for the coolant flow. There is a standard 105mm gap between any two opposite-end mounting holes. The overall fin-stacking job is satisfactory.

In the second picture, I am showing the tube side of the radiator. There are white clamps covering the tube connection with the barb fittings. There is a sticker showing the serial number of the unit.

There is a third port with a cover fitting. It is factory-reserved. Tampering it may lose the vacuum pressure of the loop.

There are stylish line patterns on the side frame. It seems like they have given the users an option to fix the be quiet! stickers on the sides for further augmentation, though I am not 100% sure. The near end of the block is 22 mm long, whereas the far end is 14 mm long.

Be quiet! uses rub tube with nylon braided mesh sleeve in white color over the tubes. The tubes run to 400mm and they are somewhat flexible not like those from CORSAIR.

There is a refill port on the far block of the radiator assembly. It has a screw fitting that can easily be removed using a screw drive. This time around, be quiet! has covered the port with a white sticker for a uniform look.

Pump Housing

The pump housing measures 75x94x82mm. This is a large block due to its distinctive design. Be quiet! has used a large diffuser over the top of the pump housing. This diffuser has cutouts all along.

This cooler still has a 2-point mounting mechanism, which is what we saw on the Pure Loop 2 360 and Silent Loop 2 360. The housing seems to be made of ABS material and is white. This cooler has 64 A-RGB LEDs, and the block has 16 LEDs.

Looking at the top of the main block, you will see be quiet! branding. This is a fixed sticker which needs to be placed up-right faced. This affects the orientation of the block. This is a limitation of the block and it is same as I saw on the T-Force Siren GA360.

Looking at the backside of the block, there are two 90ᵒ connections between the tube and fittings. You can rotate the tubes as required. Two flat cables come out of the housing. There is a 4-pin PWM connector powering the pump motor. The pump is rated for up to 2900 RPM, and it is PWM regulated. Be quiet! has provided a standard 3-pin, 5V A-RGB connector for the block illumination.

This unit has a nickel-plated copper base measuring 55x55mm. It has a warning sticker cautioning the user to peel it off before installation. This sticker helps avoid scratching the base during shipping.

The metal jet plate in this cooler increases the flow speed of the cooling liquid. A cold plate coupled with a high-density fin stack increases cooling performance. The motor houses a progressive IC that reduces switching noise. This helps keep the pump noise in check.

Fan

be quiet! has deployed new LX fans with this generation. Each fan has 9x frosted blades with the same layered stripes over each blade for improved airflow. There is a ring around the blade assembly. You can see a certain gap between the ring and the mounting corners.

The anti-vibration pads are integrated right inside the mounting corners assembly. On the backside, there is a 4-arm assembly. They are rounded and sloped to help distribute the air in a circular pattern. These fans are made in China.

The fans’ frames are sturdy. They are a unique combination of square and ring shapes in a single design. Arrow markers show the direction of airflow through the fans and the direction in which blades spin. Each fan has 16 A-RGB LEDs.

Each fan is PWM-regulated. They use rifle bearings, and the motor has a 4-pole design. Be quiet! has used standard 3-pin, 5V, A-RGB connectors on the fans.

This unit has an overall dimension of 397x120x52mm with installed fans. Make sure your PC Case supports a 360mm cooler.

A-RGB Lighting

Be quiet! has provided an A-RGB / PWM hub with this cooler.

This hub has a total of 6x 4-pin PWM fan headers and 3-pin A-RGB headers. You need to connect one fan’s power cable to the RPM-labeled port on this hub, as it would control the speed of all other fans.

There are three cables coming out from this hub:

  • SATA Cable to power the hub and connected devices
  • 4-pin PWM Connector Cable
  • 3-pin, A-RGB Connector Cable

You can either install this hub in the case using self-adhesive double-sided tape or a standard 2.5” drive mount.

This cooler uses standard A-RGB connectors, making it compatible with the RGB sync technology of motherboard manufacturers, including:

  • ASUS Aura Sync
  • ASROCK-Polychrome Sync
  • GIGABYTE RGB Fusion 2.0

Light Loop 360 Test Results

Thermal Test Results
Thermal Test Results (Image By Tech4Gamers)

be quiet! has made a strong comeback.

I see a massive difference of 4ᵒC between the Light Loop 360 and Pure Loop 2 360. The overall noise levels are also noticeably reduced compared to last generations.

Should You Buy It

Buy It If

✅You are looking for a high-performance stylish liquid cooler: be quiet! Light Loop 360 White packs a strong punch for ultimate performance. The new and distinctive A-RGB lighting diffuser on the block gives good aura.

✅You prefer durability: This cooler has a refill port on the radiator, and the manufacturer has bundled a coolant bottle. You can easily service the unit should the coolant level drops making it lasting quite long.

✅You want a hub: This cooler comes with a SATA-powered hub that can house up to 6x fans and A-RGB devices. It makes the cable management and connection convenient.

Don’t Buy It If

❌You want less cable clutter: Each fan and the block has cables, making a total count of 8. This is not a cable clutter free design.

❌You are using an Intel LGA20xx socket: This cooler is not compatible with the Intel LGA20xx socket. Skip it if you are on this socket.

My Thoughts

Be quiet! has released a new generation of liquid water coolers, and they are making strong waves with this generation. Light Loop is a name that has joined the ranks with Pure Loop and Silent Loop. Be quiet! has finally released fully illuminated A-RGB fans with these coolers named LX.

The block features a new look with a 360ᵒ A-RGB backlighting on the top. There is a large size thick diffuser with heatsink style over the top. There is be quiet! branding over the top which limits the orientation of the block.

The unit has a nickel plated copper base measuring 55x55mm. be quiet! has used revamped cold plate with high density fin stack coupled with new jet plate to improve the coolant flow and maximum coverage of the die.

Speaking of the installation, be quiet! has retained its mounting hardware. I wish be quiet! could come up with a simplified backplate! I have tested this cooler on an Intel LGA1700 socket. It requires 19 items to install the block over the CPU in 5 steps.

Be quiet! Light Loop 360 White has MSRP of USD 164.90. It is a powerful cooler for modern CPUs enabling the users to tame the roaring temperatures on latest SKUs. The noise performance is also good. Only thing lacking is a 5-year warranty.

How The Fourth Most Popular Game On Steam Is A Scam

Story Highlights
  • Banana is a clicker game that gives you skins by keeping the game open.
  • The game’s part of a trend of scammy games that are overtaking Steam.
  • Its developers are engaging in some very predatory tactics by rigging the skin rates, manipulating the market, and leeching off of the players.

A game named Banana has recently stormed the internet by gaining a burst of popularity on Steam. The game’s rise to fame has brought with it many concerns about the ethical prospects behind a game like this.

Many users asking for such games to be banned from Steam altogether for being scammy.

What Exactly Is Banana?

banana - gameplay
Banana Gameplay (Captured by Tech4Gamers)

Banana is a “game” where you can click on a banana on your screen. That’s kinda it, really. A number on top of the banana records the number of times you’ve clicked on said banana, and the number resets whenever you close the game, forcing you to keep it open.

What’s the purpose? The game uses Steam’s integrated marketplace, the same thing people use to sell Counter-Strike skins. If you keep the game running and clicking for a certain amount of time, you can get a rarer banana peel to sell on Steam.

Why Clicker Games Work

cookie clicker
Cookie Clicker Gameplay (Image from Steam)

Clicker games can still work, but Banana is shamelessly bad. The allure of most clicker games like Cookie Clicker is progress. Clicking earns you resources that you can then use to get upgrades, such as more resources per click or auto-clicking.

This provides a sense of accomplishment and grinding. Banana, of course, has no progress whatsoever.

No Shame In Selling Bananas

steam marketplace
Steam Marketplace (Captured by Tech4Gamers)

Even if the main point is to sell skins to earn, that by itself isn’t something to be hated. After all, Steam Marketplace is a fun way for players not only to earn but also to share and collect stuff from their beloved games. To insult this is to disrespect a large community of players.

The reason Banana sucks so bad is because this selling and buying is the only thing it has going for it. The game lacks passion and only exists as a manifestation of the developer’s greed.

Predatory Practices, Rotten Bananas

This fruit salad of problems gets worse with each bite. There’s the ethically questionable choice of casting away all progress when you close the game, forcing you to keep it running to farm popularity on Steam artificially.

dogenana - banana skin
Example of a Banana skin (Captured by Tech4Gamers)

The lack of effort and respect for their players is another thing, with the developers refusing to put even a speck of effort into making the game presentable. However, the most blatantly predatory practice is with the main system of the game, selling skins.

Can You Get Rich?

banana skins
Average Banana skin prices (Captured by Tech4Gamers)

Regardless of what sites like The Gamer or Polygon tell you, the chances of you getting a super rare skin are minuscule. The devs refuse to publish any official drop rates as well, so we don’t have a set n. There hasn’t been extensive testing, but we can see the rigged results from the game’s recent botting problem.

Only a third of the players are actual humans, with the rest “exploiting” this game by using virtual machines. You’d still rarely find anyone getting a super legendary skin among these.

The Problem

If the game’s free and takes minimal resources, what’s the issue?

  • Steam exploit: Feeding into these Steam marketplace exploits means giving more people the green light to produce similar games, hoarding Steam’s top spots and causing actual good games to go unseen.
  • No free money: There’s no such thing as free money. Your electricity bills alone would be worth more than the meagre cents you earn every few days from the game.

Yeah, The Game’s A Scam

If it wasn’t obvious enough already, the developers are all extremely greedy. The game’s made to make someone rich, but it’s not the players.

Exploiting Steam’s system for popularity and then having complete control over the actual worthwhile items in the games makes for a very good scam, and people just can’t stop buying into it.

Delta Force Hawk Ops: Is It The Ultimate Battlefield Killer?

Story Highlights
  • This game is heavily inspired by the Battlefield series and has kept the UI, transitions, and gameplay similar.
  • The twist is that this game has added operators’ abilities on the battlefield and COD-style gameplay.
  • Due to EA and DICE’s poor handling of the Battlefield franchise, the community gladly welcomes Hawk Ops.

Delta Force: Hawk Ops was developed by a Chinese company highly influenced by the Battlefield series. It’s so similar that it feels like a one-to-one copy of Battlefield. However, it might replace Battlefield once and for all.

Similarities

The game features a similar huge map with tons of modes of transportation and a large range of weapons.

Battlefield 2042 Vs Delta Force Hawk Ops
Similar UI Design (Image By YT/LevelCapGaming)

At the time of deployment, Hawk Ops has the same UI design, with the teammates’ info on the left and your weapon loadout at the bottom. You also get the same countdown present at the bottom right side of your screen.

Battlefield 2042 Vs Delta Force Hawk Ops
Similar Shooting Layout (Image By YT/LevelCapGaming)

Shooting your enemies using your ADS has a similar hit marker and skull headshot icon, and each damage is registered in the same way as in Battlefield. Moreover, the enemy’s health and names are also visible while you’re shooting at them.

Battlefield 2042 Vs Delta Force Hawk Ops
Similar Helicopter Crosshair (Image By YT/LevelCapGaming)

The helicopter crosshair radical looks identical, with the dots representing the remaining bullets. When you’re dead, you can be revived, and the distance of your ally is shown at the bottom right corner, as in Battlefield.

However, being revived by an ally shifts the camera to a point-of-view angle where you can see your teammate reviving you, similar to the Call Of Duty series. When you revive a fallen ally, you also initiate an animation similar to the one in Warzone.

The medic is also equipped with a healing pistol, which you can use to heal yourself or your teammates, similar to Battlefield 2042. However, the animations and mechanics are much better in Hawk Ops.

Similarities With COD (YT Comments)

Overall, the game seems to be fully inspired by the Battlefield series and partially by the COD series, taking a few parts for each of its games to create one game. The running animation and parachuting are reminiscent of Modern Warfare 2.

Difference

Delta Force took many things from the Battlefield series but included specialized operators, much like the agent’s abilities present in other games. This is a chance to see Battlefield-type games.

However, this twist to this genre is the only thing putting off Battlefield and COD fans. They would prefer it if abilities weren’t added to the game, as it looked promising without them.

Poor Handling Of The Franchise

Despite the many similarities, fans aren’t upset or disappointed. In fact, they are quite happy that this game is launched. EA hasn’t been the most efficient in handling the battlefield franchise, especially for the last two titles, and they even denied these claims.

Issues With Battlefield V & 2042

Both Battlefield V and Battlefield 2042 were plagued with bugs and glitches. Battlefield 2024 even had performance issues at launch and became a victim of registration issues, server instability, and connection problems.

Apart from that, Battlefield V also didn’t include the 5v5 competitive mode, which they had promised to add before the game’s launch. This, paired with the inconsistent updates, led to the fans’ frustration with the game.

Even though Battlefield 2042 Devs Hired 100 content creators, they still ignored their advice. They launched the game with fewer maps and modes than the previous titles. In addition, the campaign mode was absent from the game, which made it feel incomplete. Now, EA is expected to integrate a campaign mode in their next Battlefield game

Ignorant To Feedback

The updates to this game were very slow, and even after updates, the key issues remained unfixed for the most part. EA and DICE seemed to be ignorant of the community’s feedback.

This led to community-building resentment toward the entire Battlefield franchise. With this amount of frustration, fans gladly accept Delta Force Hawk Ops since they believe at least the company behind it won’t abandon their community.

Fans’ Response To Hawk Ops

Fans are even sighing relief that this game isn’t made by EA or DICE. Some appreciate the incredible gunsmith in a Battlfield-like game because it resembles the one in Escape From Tarkov.

Fans Are Interested (YouTube Comments)

Many also comment that the game looks like a combination of Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield 2024.

Might Replace Battlefield

Despite all of that, fans are eagerly willing to play Delta Force Hawk Ops, and it might replace the Battlefield franchise in the near future if EA doesn’t stop killing their franchise by not listening to their community.

Why We Need An Open-World Avatar: The Last Airbender Game

Story Highlights
  • An open-world game from the Avatar franchise has huge market potential since all the previous games were subpar.
  • Fans have been craving one for the longest time and even created a fan base open-world concept game called ‘Avatar 2020 Dreams.’
  • The game could focus on exploring the iconic areas, have innovative mechanics, and could feature a multiplayer mode.

Avatar: The Last Airbender doesn’t have any decent AAA games. Today we’ll explore why we not only want one but also need one.

Huge Market Potential

Believe it or not, there hasn’t been any decent AAA Avatar: The Airbender game in a long time. All the games released were either 2D ones, had a locked camera, or simply didn’t contain full free-roam ability.

The last three Avatar games were The Legend Of Korra (2014), Generations (2023), and Quest For Balance (2023). While Legend of Korra wasn’t fully 3D, Generations focused on combat only, and Quest of Balance had a locked camera despite being 3D.

Last Avatar Game

The latest game in the Avatar franchise is Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest of Balance. However, this game remains true to the franchise’s identity, which is based on solving puzzles using the four elements.

This game also features the switching of the character to aid each other by solving puzzles with respect to each of the character’s abilities. Being created in Unreal Engine 5, this game does appear decent with great lighting and shadows.

However, this game still lacks depth and has left the fans disappointed. The camera was locked in one place the whole time, and the characters could only move in a manner similar to that of the older Avatar games.

Apart from the puzzles and the ongoing map, there wasn’t any open-world experience, so you’re limited to the route the game provides you. This goes to show that Avatar: The Airbender game hasn’t reached its full potential in the gaming industry.

Strong Fanbase

Avatar games have been out since 2006, and it’s been almost twenty years, and we still haven’t got any full open-world free-roam AAA game from this franchise. Since Avatar wasn’t making a game, fans decided to take matters into their own hands.

In 2020, a fan-made Avatar Four Seasons” project was initiated to create a 3D open-world Avatar game. The game is made on Dreams on PS4, and anyone can play it to explore its potential.

This game starts with a story similar to that in the anime and consists of a few cutscenes. It utilizes all four elements, with Aang’s air ball used as a traveling device, fire and water for combat, and earth as a barrier to protect against attacks.

Aang can also fly across the map using his glider, which is satisfying to both watch and play. This shows the passion fans have for the love of this game. All the features used in this game merely reflect what the fans want from the official game.

Insomniac’s Magical Touch

Now, if Insomniac were to make an Avatar game, it would be the cherry on top. Insomniac is known to create the best games because of its exceptional story-telling, rich character development, and innovative gameplay mechanics.

Story-Telling & Character Development

Insomniac’s strong narrative is evident in Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet & Clank. Their games also follow the emotional arcs of the characters, which strengthens the bond between the audience and the characters.

This would be the case for the characters in the Avatar universe as well. Insomniacs can carry out or even enhance the character that is present in the anime with their visual storytelling.

Innovative Gameplay Mechanics

We’ve experienced Insomniac’s smooth gameplay mechanics and Spider-Man: Miles Morales is one of its fine examples. It is known to create satisfying gameplay where the web swinging is seamless and somewhat effortless.

The mechanics implemented in an Avatar game will help create seamless movements using the four elements. If they were to add a glider part, they would make it move so smoothly.

Open-World Exploration

The game could allow us to explore iconic locations such as Ba Sing Se, the Southern Water Tribe, the Air Temples, and the Fire Nation. Using the four elements to travel across the map would be fun for completing both the main and side quests.

Multiplayer Mode

Fortnite, which crossed 6M players, recently added and collaborated with Avatar to include the infamous glider and the four elements. This re-ignited fans’ craving for a multiplayer game mode in an upcoming game or at least a coop mode to enjoy the game with friends.

Fans are eager for more than just a costume change, with hopes that new gameplay elements might also be added in the upcoming DLC.

Many Dreamt About The Stellar Blade And Nier Automata Collab

His lighthearted attitude has brought him into many projects, and this crossover is no exception. Taro has even complimented Stellar Blade’s graphics, saying that they look better than those in his own Nier games.

One awesome thing about this collaboration is the friendship between Stellar Blade’s director, Kim Hyung-tae, and Yoko Taro. In a previous chat, Taro praised the impressive visuals of Stellar Blade, while Kim modestly admitted he couldn’t match Taro’s storytelling skills.

While there’s no release date for the DLC yet, fans are already hyped about what’s to come. Many fans agreed to give Yoko Taro some of their money for this collaboration.

The announcement also mentioned that Stellar Blade will soon have a photo mode, letting players take pictures of Eve in her new 2B-inspired outfit.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Can Succeed Despite Ghost of Yotei Competition, Thinks Ubisoft

Story Highlight
  • The Ubisoft CEO has claimed that both Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Ghost of Yotei can sell very well next year.
  • He does not see Ghost of Yotei as a rival to AC Shadows, claiming the industry has a lot of space for high-quality titles.
  • The players worry that Ghost of Yotei could eat away at the sales of AC Shadows if both release close to each other.

Ever since Ghost of Yotei’s reveal at the recent Sony State of Play event, gamers have been worried about how AC Shadows’ sales would be affected. Ubisoft has also delayed the game till February 2025 because Star Wars Outlaws failed to meet sales expectations. However, despite that, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is not concerned.

Yves recently clarified that both Assassin’s Creed and Ghost of Yotei can sell very well. He argues that the industry is big enough to support the launch of both high-quality games.

Why it matters: Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says that Assassin’s Creed Shadows does not see Ghost of Yotei as its competitor.

Assassin's Creed Shadows has been delayed to come out next year on Steam day 1.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed to come out next year on Steam day 1.

During a conference call on Wednesday, Ubisoft was asked whether the launch of similar Japanese action-adventure games in 2025 would compromise the sales of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The CEO denied these concerns and claimed that both games can “sell very well.”

“I would like to say that there’s a lot of space for very high quality games, and those two games can sell very well.”

The CFO of Ubisoft, Frederick Duguet, said that the main concern was to ensure that AC Shadows’ quality is top-notch, as it wants to deliver a fantastic experience.

Ghost of Yotei was one of the most popular reveals in the latest Sony State of Play showcase.
Ghost of Yotei is an upcoming Ghost of Tsushima sequel that takes place after many centuries.

However, users argue that Ghost of Yotei could eat away at the sales of AC Shadows because of its high quality. The similar setting and gameplay might propel the new Ghost game to dominate Assassin’s Creed Shadows if the quality in the latter is not there.

All in all, only time will tell whether Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be able to compete with Ghost of Yotei on similar grounds, considering the massive controversy surrounding the former.

Horizon Zero Dawn PSN Price Secretly Doubled After Remaster Announcement

Story Highlight
  • Horizon Zero Dawn was previously priced at just $19.99 on PSN.
  • This price has suddenly shot up to $39.99 after PlayStation announced a new remaster for the title.
  • The new price will make it difficult for digital gamers to benefit from the $10 remaster upgrade.

PlayStation is gearing up to re-release Horizon Zero Dawn next month with a myriad of graphical enhancements. The remaster will also be available for just $10 for existing game owners, but there’s a catch.

Not all PC gamers will be able to take advantage of this offer, and it seems PlayStation is continuing the trend of limiting this upgrade by increasing Horizon Zero Dawn’s price on PSN.

Why it matters: The remaster’s reception is already far from positive, and this move will only damage it further.

Horizon Zero Dawn
Horizon Zero Dawn Price History via PSPrices

As noted on the popular price tracking website PSPrices, Horizon Zero Dawn has seen a sudden price hike on PlayStation’s digital storefront.

This game was priced at just $19.99 once the price was slashed several years ago. The title stayed at this price until PlayStation announced the underwhelming remaster, leading to the price reaching $39.99.

It appears that this is done in an attempt to rake in extra revenue ahead of the remaster’s release. Since PlayStation is offering the remaster as a $10 upgrade, many gamers may have considered buying Horizon Zero Dawn digitally to prepare for the remaster.

If they still intend to follow through with this plan, the remaster will end up costing a whopping $50 once the entire package is purchased. While physical copies can still be found for relatively cheap, this will be of little benefit to those using a digital-only PS5 console.

For the unaware, Horizon Zero Dawn received a major price cut in 2018. The base game was priced at $19.99 for more than six years, so it’s bizarre that the decision was suddenly reversed this week.

While many were glad to see PlayStation’s remaster announcement be consumer-friendly, the gaming giant’s latest move could spark controversy. With the remaster just over a month away, the odds seem to be stacked against Horizon’s latest entry.

EA Sports FC 25’s New Fast-Paced Rush Mode Gets Ruined By Players

Story Highlight
  • The new Rush Mode in EA Sports FC 25 has been ruined by players who do not pass the ball to others.
  • The new mode features bite-sized and fast-paced 5v5 matches, which have gained a lot of popularity.
  • The community is making light of the situation and trying to help the offenders not ruin the mode for others.

EA Sports FC 25 has proven to be highly popular since its release, with many players spending heavily on FC 25 coins from reliable sources. The devs have nailed the gameplay with the highly popular Rush Mode, which a vast majority of the players have come to love. However, not everything has been rainbows and sunshine for the new mode, as many players have started ruining it for other users.

As reported by a big chunk of the community over the recent days, some players are just not passing the ball to others during Rush Mode matches. This “selfishness” has started to wreck the gameplay for other players.

Why it matters: A plethora of players are ruining the new 5v5 Rush Mode in EA Sports FC 25 despite it gaining extreme popularity in the community. It is necessary to enjoy the mode naturally while also passing the ball to have fun.

You’re allowed to pass on Rush.

As shared on Reddit, the community is making light of the players over social media who refuse to ever pass the ball. It is also to raise awareness and let them know how it ruins the experience for others. Those who were affected have shared their personal stories.

“No one passes in Rush, everyone I play with just tries to dribble past everyone but gets tackled and loses possession. Selfish teammates.”

Unless you play without friends, the chances of finding these selfish individuals are quite a lot. It only takes one player who refuses to release the ball to ruin a Rush Mode match, after all.

Various memes in the EA FC Sports 25 community are making light of the situation plaguing the Rush Mode
Various memes in the EA FC Sports 25 community are making light of the situation plaguing Rush Mode.

For those not in the know, Rush Mode has gained a lot of popularity because of its bite-sized 5v5 fast-paced matches that keep players on edge. It features AI goalkeepers and actual players in the rest of the teams, making it a highly competitive experience.

All in all, it is best to take the current Rush Mode situation with a pinch of salt since the mode itself is highly enjoyable to play with others.

‘If You Don’t Like It, Don’t Buy It,’ Says Ex-Sony Boss Citing Ghost of Yotei Criticism

Story Highlight
  • Ghost of Yotei has received a mixed reception from the fandom on reveal.
  • Many fans don’t like the idea of a female lead, especially the actress behind the character.
  • Due to that, the ex-Sony boss says that if you don’t like this game, then just don’t buy it.

After years of anticipation and hope, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima was finally announced in the recent PlayStation State of Play. However, even after a lot of anticipation, the game received mixed reactions from the fandom.

The main reason for that is the female protagonist, as in Ghost of Tsushima, fans were given the courtesy to play as Jin Sakai. The main lead being a girl isn’t really the basis of hate, but the actress behind that character is.

Due to so much hate, the ex-Sony boss has spoken up and said that those who don’t like the game just simply shouldn’t buy it

Why it matters: The long-standing fans of the previous game have the right to criticize the next entry if it doesn’t meet their expectations, but what the ex-Sony boss said makes a lot of sense, too.

Ghost of Yotei Criticism
Ghost of Yotei Criticism Is Getting Out of Hand

Many Ghost of Tsushima fans don’t like the idea of playing as the female lead next, and they have shown their frustration on Twitter. Mightykeef on Twitter highlighted one of those tweets, calling the person an absolute loser.

Shawn Layden, the ex-Sony boss, also gave his two cents on the topic, saying that if you don’t like the game, then just don’t buy it. He says it is a game and entertainment. The creators believe in the story, and they want to make it.

it’s a game. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. In fact, why not make the game you want yourself?

-Shawn Layden

Layden has made some interesting points regarding how the creators want to make this, but shouldn’t they focus on their audience? Fans hating on the female lead is not ideal. However, the fans who are concerned because of the actress behind it have every right to be so.

The actress is actively blocking big names on Twitter who didn’t even contact or speak against her, and looking at her profile, fans are really concerned over the ‘woke’ stuff in Ghost of Yotei

So, Layden saying ‘don’t buy it’ would definitely spark a controversy. In fact, many fans are roasting him in the comments, saying that the game should be given the Concord treatment. Now, Concord had the same ‘woke’ and many other issues; you can see what happened to that game.

While we find it hard to believe that Ghost of Yotei will get Concord treatment, it is likely to suffer from this controversy.
