Memory Type: DDR5 | Capacity: 32GB (16GB x2) | Frequency: 6600MHz | Latency: CL34 | Latency (nanoseconds): 10.3 ns | Input Voltage: 1.35V | RGB Lighting: Yes

Pros

  • Excellent overclocking headroom
  • Beautiful design
  • Decent stock performance
  • Reasonable pricing

Cons

  • Nothing significant

Look-wise, the Trident Z5 RGB is one of the most beautiful RAM kits on the market. It has a distinct RGB light bar that seamlessly cuts off at the center. Not only that, but the incorporated heat spreader looks stylish while getting rid of all the excess heat. You can get the RAM kit in either black or silver; both look gorgeous in my opinion. Although a frequency of 6600MHz might seem a bit conservative compared to other RAM kits, I found the stock performance of this RAM to be perfectly acceptable during my tests. I also managed to push this RAM kit to 7200MHz using 34-40-40-105 timings at 1.47V, highlighting its excellent overclocking potential. You can also use our RAM latency calculator to measure nanosecond latency; for example, this kit has a 10.3ns latency.

If you want a RAM that hits the perfect balance between all important aspects of a successful memory kit, then you should go with the Trident Z5 RGB (6600MHz). The RAM packs significant performance and looks good while consuming just the right amount of voltage, and its reasonable price tag makes it a great value for money.

I noted the overclocking prowess of this RAM kit during my hands-on use:

  • Reasonable value

Cons

  • Tall heat spreaders

XPG has gone with a very stylish and modern design for the Lancer RAM kit. The modules have a clean black heat spreader with silver accents that look quite nice when installed in a PC case. The highlight is of course the large RGB bar on the top which provides a touch of personalization to the memory modules. My selected variant of the XPG Lancer RGB RAM kit is quite impressive from a stock performance standpoint thanks to its high 7200 MHz frequency and reasonable latency of CL34. I also managed to overclock the kit to 7800 MHz at CL34 using 1.5V, which is a very healthy overclock for this memory kit.

While this kit has a relatively higher price tag when you compare it to others in the same category, the stock performance and overclocking potential certainly justify the additional premium. The overall value proposition is quite positive despite the initial price tag being a bit higher than the competition.

After running a gauntlet of tests and compiling my results, I was rather impressed with the XPG Lancer RGB RAM:

Its impressive overclocking capabilities, dual-platform support, and error correction function make it an excellent choice for enthusiasts.

Buy It If

Memory Type: DDR5 | Capacity: 32GB (16GB x2) | Frequency: 8000MHz | Latency: CL38 | Latency (nanoseconds): 9.5 ns | Input Voltage: 1.45V | RGB Lighting: No

Pros

  • Exceptional stock performance
  • Understated design
  • Great heat dissipation
  • Available in 48GB capacity

Cons

  • Unremarkable overclocking headroom
  • No RGB lighting

Aesthetics are not really the strong point of the TEAMGROUP T-Force Xtreem series, as this lineup is purely focused on performance. The black heat spreaders do give it a very understated look, but the silver accents and text do not really do much to improve the design. There is a stark lack of RGB lighting, which may also be a divisive choice. The TEAMGROUP T-Force Xtreem dominates the memory benchmarks in my test suite, as it is the fastest memory kit I have tested to date. The memory overclocking performance, however, is underwhelming as I was not able to overclock the T-Force Xtreem kit since it has already been pushed to the limit out of the box.

Of course, being a premium memory kit, the T-Force Xtreem is aimed at enthusiasts who want the best of the best. Its price tag is quite steep, but it still provides a decent value for your money if you can harness its performance in a meaningful way, as creators can definitely benefit from the additional performance uplift.

During my in-depth testing, I also noted that:

The Teamgroup T-Force XTREEM DDR5 kit stands out for its exceptional performance and robust build quality, aimed at enthusiasts and overclockers.

Buy It If

Take a glance at a few shots from our testing:

✅You want the best stock performance: With a frequency of 8000MHz at CL38, the TEAMGROUP T-Force Xtreem RAM kit dominated my test suite due to its exceptional stock performance.

✅You don’t like RGB lighting: The T-Force Xtreem kit omits RGB lighting in favor of a more understated design, which may be favorable for those users who want to build a stealthy gaming PC.

Don't Buy It If

❌You want to overclock: My overclocking experience with the TEAMGROUP T-Force Xtreem RAM kit was underwhelming since I was unable to gain a noticeable bump in frequency.

❌You want RGB lighting: If you crave a splash of RGB lighting in your RAM modules, then the T-Force Xtreem kit might not be for you.

Cons

  • Low overclocking headroom

The TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB kits have become iconic over the past few years for their familiar design. The angled edges of the heat spreader provide an aggressive and modern look to the memory modules, while the T-Force script is nicely blended in as well. The huge RGB bar is a nice addition and provides a splash of color to your build. The T-Force Delta kits come in a wide variety of configurations, but my selected 6000MHz CL30 kit hits a nice sweet spot in terms of performance per dollar. While the stock performance is quite admirable, I was a bit frustrated with the overclocking experience and could only manage 6400MHz at 1.42V, which is not ideal.

I was quite impressed with the price-to-performance ratio of the T-Force Delta RGB kit that I selected since it offers solid stock performance at a very affordable price point. Sure, it cuts a few corners here and there, but it is still one of the best DDR5 RAM kits that you can pick up for a budget build at the time of writing.

I shared my thoughts on its value proposition during my review process:

What makes this kit even more compelling is the pricing giving this kit a good price-to-performance ratio.

PRO TIP: You can use your motherboard’s RGB software such as ASUS AURA Sync and Gigabyte RGB Fusion to configure the lighting of this RAM kit.
Buy It If

Memory Type: DDR5 | Capacity: 32GB (16GB x2) | Frequency: 6400MHz | Latency: CL32 | Latency (nanoseconds): 10.66 ns | Input Voltage: 1.40V | RGB Lighting: Yes

Pros

  • Solid stock performance
  • Attractive RGB lighting
  • Reasonable price point
  • Available in white color

Cons

  • Mediocre overclocking performance
  • Tall heat spreaders

Lexar has done a decent job with the aesthetics of the ARES RGB kits. While I don’t necessarily like the bulky design of the heat spreader, it still looks quite nice when installed in a PC case. The black heat spreader has a minimalist inscription and a few silver accents, while the large RGB bar on the top serves as the main design element of the module. With a frequency of 6400MHz at CL32, my selected variant of the Lexar ARES RGB kit falls in the middle of the pack when it comes to stock performance in my test suite. I also managed to overclock the kit to 6800MHz at 1.5V, which delivers a decent bump in performance but the required voltage is a bit too high.

Thanks to its reasonable price point, my selected Lexar ARES RGB kit shines in the value department. It checks all the necessary boxes while being easy on the wallet. Sure, it may not have the highest stock performance or the most aggressive overclocking potential, but it gets the job done while delivering excellent value for your money.

As I noted in my review, the Lexar ARES RGB RAM can go head-to-head with more expensive kits:

The Lexar ARES RGB DDR5 kit offers high performance at 6400MHz and CAS32 for budget gamers, rivaling pricier options.

WARNING: Make sure you cross-check the physical compatibility of your CPU cooler with the RAM kit before buying.
Buy It If

Don't Buy It If

❌You want to overclock: I did manage to get an overclock of +400MHz on my Lexar ARES RGB kit, but the required voltage was a bit too high.

V-Color Manta XPrism RGB DDR5 RAM

Memory Type: DDR5 | Capacity: 32GB (16GB x2) | Frequency: 7200MHz | Latency: CL34 | Latency (nanoseconds): 9.44 ns | Input Voltage: 1.40V | RGB Lighting: Yes

Pros

  • Unique white design
  • Beautiful RGB implementation
  • High frequency and tight timings
  • Great overclocking performance

Cons

  • High price

The V-Color Manta XPrism RGB RAM kit is one of the most stunning memory kits on the market right now. Its white heat spreader gives it a very sophisticated and modern look, while the huge RGB bar complements the white facade quite well. The pattern on the RGB bar is also quite interesting and gives a unique look to the memory modules. I selected the 7200 MHz variant of the Manta XPrism RGB RAM kit which runs at CL34, and it certainly impressed me with its stock performance during my test run. Overclocking is where this kit really shines, as I was able to push this kit to 8000MHz using the same timings at 1.51V, yielding a sizeable performance bump.

The V-Color Manta XPrism RGB kit offers a wide range of frequencies, and my selected variant offers a decent value proposition. It is still one of the more expensive memory kits on the market as of the time of writing, but considering the overclocking potential and its unique design, the price tag is entirely justified.

The well-rounded nature of the RAM kit impressed me during my testing process:

This is a high-performing kit with vivid RGB lighting and good overclocking headroom making this kit enter our recommended list.

Memory Type: DDR5 | Capacity: 48GB (24GB x2) | Frequency: 7200MHz | Latency: CL34 | Latency (nanoseconds): 9.44 ns | Input Voltage: 1.40V | RGB Lighting: No

Pros

  • Excellent for creators and workstation users
  • Superb stock performance
  • Minimalistic design
  • Low profile form factor

Cons

  • High price
  • No RGB lighting

TEAMGROUP has gone with a very minimalistic and modern design for the T-Create Expert series of DDR5 memory. The heat spreaders have a very sophisticated look with gold accents over a dark metallic finish, which makes the kit look very premium. The lack of RGB lighting aligns with TEAMGROUP’s vision for this memory kit and its target market. In my testing, the TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert 7200MHz CL34 kit performed very well at stock settings and ended up near the very top of my benchmark charts every time. However, being a non-binary kit, I was not able to get any significant overclocking results from this kit, which was a slight disappointment.

Despite being a bit on the pricier side, the TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert DDR5 kit completely justifies its price tag. It is a unique memory kit that offers a 48GB configuration and is targeted at creative professionals and workstation users. For that target demographic, the resulting price-to-performance ratio makes a lot of sense.

I was intrigued about what makes this kit special for creators while I was testing it:

The low-profile design, single color option, and efficient cooling via a single-piece aluminum heat spreader cater to creators.

PRO TIP: TEAMGROUP offers a lifetime warranty for the T-Create Expert DDR5 kit, so if you want reliability, this is the RAM kit to buy.

Memory Type: DDR5 | Capacity: 64GB (32GB x2) | Frequency: 6000MHz | Latency: CL30 | Latency (nanoseconds): 10 ns | Input Voltage: 1.40V | RGB Lighting: Yes

Pros

  • Ideal for creative professionals
  • Decent stock performance
  • Beautiful RGB implementation
  • Respectable overclocking ability

Cons

  • Quite expensive

Corsair usually does not miss when it comes to design, and the same trend holds true for the Vengeance RGB RAM as well. The heat spreader has a very intricate design that gives it a unique look up close, while the large RGB bar on top just adds a bit of flavor to the RAM kit. You can even buy a white version of this kit which is a nice option. For a 64GB RAM kit, I was quite impressed with the stock performance of the Vengeance RGB RAM. Sure, the frequency might be relatively lower, but the tight timings and low latency surely make up for it. I was able to overclock the 32GB version of this kit to 6800MHz at 1.45V, which gave me a nice performance bump.

Understandably, the 64GB variant of the Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM is on the premium side of the pricing spectrum. However, Corsair is not being entirely unjust with this price tag, as the performance and feature set can certainly justify it. It does make more sense for professionals who aim to have a return on this investment.

Apart from the performance, the design of this RAM kit also stood out to me during my review process:

This kit offers brilliant digitally controllable RGB lighting with even diffusion and vivid colors.

Buy It If

✅You want lots of RAM capacity: If you work with large video editing projects or animation work, then the 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 RAM can certainly be a great boost to your workload.

✅You have other Corsair products: The lighting on the Vengeance RGB RAM works quite well with other Corsair products through the Corsair iCUE software, allowing you to personalize the look of your PC.

Don't Buy It If

❌Your budget is limited: Of course, a premium quality 64GB kit of DDR5 memory is bound to be a little heavy on your pocket.

Why We Didn’t Go For These Best DDR5 RAM Kits?

I tested a plethora of DDR5 RAM kits in order to determine the best ones currently available, which means that several RAM kits did not make the cut. Here are a few DDR5 RAM kits that just missed the mark.

How We Tested & Picked The Best DDR5 RAM

We used stringent criteria to finalize our selection of the best DDR5 RAM. You should also keep these factors in mind when shopping for RAM.

  • Budget and Affordability: Just like with any other purchase, it’s essential to base your decision on a specific budget, so you’ll know whether it is feasible for you to splurge on some of the more premium DDR5 RAMs out there, or go for something more practical such as a value-oriented RAM kit. The price-to-performance ratio is a crucial factor to consider.
  • Latency and Frequency: Pay close attention to the RAM kit’s latency timings and overall performance specifications. Lower latency and higher clock speeds can significantly impact system responsiveness and speed, making it essential to choose a DDR5 RAM kit that aligns with your specific computing needs.
  • Aesthetics: The aesthetics and build quality should not be overlooked when selecting a DDR5 RAM kit. The physical appearance of RAM modules can contribute to the overall look of your PC build. Opting for RAM modules with a unique design can enhance its visual appeal, and can give you customization options through RGB lighting.
  • Compatibility: The market is filled with dozens and dozens of RAM kits along with pages of marketing jargon, which can confuse the average buyer, therefore it is important to consider the compatibility factor beforehand. Memory kits optimized for Intel CPUs often have “Ready for XMP” labels, while AMD-specific memory tends to showcase the “AMD EXPO” certification.
  • Manufacturer Support: It’s also critical to factor in manufacturer support and brand reputation. Established and reputable brands often provide better customer support, warranty coverage, and product reliability. In case you encounter any issues or require assistance, a trustworthy manufacturer is more likely to offer reliable solutions and timely support.
