How it works
Ranking, value, card selection, and internal links
Performance tiers are recalculated for the active metric and filters. The fastest visible card becomes the 100% reference.
Launch MSRP value divides the overall gaming average by the launch MSRP. Replace launch MSRP with current pricing through a server-side pricing feed for live value rankings.
Review links are intentionally data-driven. Add each Tech4Gamers review URL to data/gpus.json or the included review-link mapping template, and the Review button appears automatically.
What is a GPU hierarchy?
A GPU hierarchy ranks graphics cards by relative gaming performance so you can quickly see how different models and generations compare without opening individual comparison pages.
How are graphics cards ranked in the GPU hierarchy?
We rank supported GPUs using normalized gaming performance data and organize them into an easy-to-read order. Specifications are useful context, but the ranking is primarily about real performance.
Is the fastest GPU always the best value?
No. The fastest GPU can deliver the highest performance while offering worse value per dollar than a slower model. Budget, resolution, power use and feature requirements should all be considered.
What GPU tier do I need for 1440p gaming?
That depends on the games, settings and refresh rate you target. Use the hierarchy to narrow down suitable performance tiers, then compare specific cards using benchmark data.
Can older GPUs still rank well against newer graphics cards?
Yes. A newer generation does not automatically make every model faster than every older card. The hierarchy lets you compare performance across generations rather than relying on release date.
