Fans Should Not Get Their Hopes Up For An RTX 50 Refresh
This report comes from Board Channels, which states that industry sources believe Nvidia has delayed its RTX 50 Super graphics cards indefinitely.
What this means for the refresh remains anybody’s guess for now, but the report goes over why Nvidia has made this decision. To nobody’s surprise, the main culprits are rising memory prices and a lack of competition.
Nvidia does not currently see an immediate need to refresh its existing graphics cards due to its lead over AMD in the market. Elsewhere, the gaming giant’s goal of relying on 3GB GDDR7 modules for the RTX 50 Super lineup has been thwarted by the current shortages.
Recent rumors also suggested that the RTX 60 series would launch at some point in 2027, leaving around a year and a half before the new GPUs hit the market. As such, the much-anticipated RTX 50 Super refresh may never see the light of day.
Although the supposed cancellation is certainly disappointing, Nvidia’s decision is likely for the best.
Even if Team Green went ahead and launched new graphics cards, most consumers would not be able to buy them at decent rates due to current pricing issues worldwide. As such, focusing on the next generation seems like the better option for Nvidia at the moment.

Teamkill Media announced Code Violet almost a year ago as a PlayStation exclusive. What made fans really excited was that it felt like a Dino Crisis spiritual successor, but after a couple of days, it finally arrived, and the hype has already died.
Reviews indicate that the first PS5 exclusive of 2026, Code Violet, is a big flop. It has a 40 score on critics’ sites, with almost no reviewers recommending it due to multiple issues and underwhelming gameplay.
Why it matters: What would’ve been a massive hit if done right, Teamkill Media missed almost every shot and created the first flop of the year.

On both Metacritic and OpenCritic, the game sits at a 40 score. The biggest complaints include wasteful combat, tiring exploration, and a bunch of technical issues. It just doesn’t pick up the pace, even if you are well within the story.
On the surface, it has many interesting prospects, like a sci-fi horror plot with a mix of action and survival gameplay, but the execution isn’t there, which makes everything else fall apart, leading to an underwhelming experience.

IGN says that it can be fun at times, but the rest of the issues, including the technical problems, make it hard to recommend to anyone. So, amid high demand for Dino Crisis, fans aren’t getting the spiritual successor they hoped for.

Considering how Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan, the home of PlayStation, delaying the game’s launch will only lose Xbox sales.

On the whole, however, the company’s third-party strategy is turning out to be successful thus far, and with the holy trinity of Xbox first-party titles now heading to PS5, Microsoft is bound to make more money.

While this is limited information to go on, we already know that Fable and Forza Horizon 6 have been announced, with more details expected later this month at the Xbox Developer Direct.
Furthermore, it’s already too early for the studio to commence work on the next installment for either Forza Horizon or the Fable series, making us believe that this might be a new game after all.
Whether it’s based on a new IP or an existing one, that remains to be seen. Fable has been around for a long time at Xbox, and Playground Games took the lead on the IP. They could very well be picking up another franchise under the Xbox banner.
It is also notable that Playground Games set up a third studio around last year, and whilst initially it was thought to support the development of Fable and Forza Horizon 6, it seems that isn’t the case, and it could be solely for this project.
Whatever the case may be, it remains to be seen. Recent reports have suggested a secret announcement from a first-party Xbox studio at the Developer Direct later this month. There’s a slight chance the game could be from Playground Games, but the gaming giant also has several other studios.

Surprisingly, the nearly decade-old game was one of the best-performing on Steam during the holiday period. Following a discount that slashed its price to just $4, Detroit: Become Human has now reached its peak player count on Steam just a few days later.
Why it matters: It’s unusual for a game to perform this well years after its release. Fortunately, the title got the popularity it deserved thanks to the Steam sale.

As seen above, Detroit: Become Human reached a peak player count of 25k 5 days ago and is averaging 10k players this month. The Steam sale led to a 135% boost in the game’s player count.
Just in December, the game sold just a few thousand shy of a million copies, outpacing newer releases like Battlefield 6 and others.
The Winter Sale was a surprising period, and many older titles gained popularity, including Cyberpunk 2077, as usual, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which received a second wind following the massive third-person update, and more.
Now, developer Quantic Dream is well deep into development for their next project, which is a change in the genre for them, now making a competitive multiplayer game. Alongside the stated title, which is anF2P with 3v3 matches, they’re also working on another project, Star Wars: Eclipse, that follows a similar narrative-driven structure to Detroit: Become Human.

Generative AI is all the talk these days, and fans have mixed thoughts on the tech. Recently, Larian Entertainment’s CEO came under fire for saying they could be exploring gen AI for its upcoming game’s concept art.
Larian took so much heat for the comment that they had to retract their statement, and the CEO has now officially revealed that they won’t be using gen AI for the Divinity concept art, but they could still use it in development.
Why it matters: Everyone has their own opinion on gen AI, while some are quite extreme and totally disapprove of it, others don’t care that much if the end product turns out to be good.

In Larian’s subreddit, Swen Vincke clarified that Divinity won’t use gen AI for its concept art. This means that all the art released for their upcoming flagship title will be completely unique and made by a dedicated team.

However, he still hasn’t ruled out using the tech for game development. Vincke says that Larian aims to try new things as quickly as possible, and that takes a lot of time, so they could explore gen AI tools to reduce that.

He says they’ll have strict guidelines for using the tech. For starters, they won’t add any AI-generated creative assets they aren’t sure about. If they do use gen AI tools, they’ll properly train the models themselves.
So, this is clearly a sign that the gaming industry is gradually adopting the tech. Whether people approve of it or not, using gen AI to automate tasks that normally would take too long is fine, as it can expedite development time.

Why it matters: RAM has become one of the most expensive parts of building a computer. Still, DDR4 kits are relatively affordable in this climate, and ASRock’s configuration provides users with room for future upgrades on a DDR5 platform.

29 March, 2025: After reviewing the be quiet! Light Loop 360 White, we replaced the Corsair iCUE Link H150i LCD with it. This is because it offers similar performance for a better price and its aesthetics also hold up.
The EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 LUX D-RGB is jam-packed with top-notch features, and that showed during our initial review of the cooler. It achieves impeccable cooling performance through the combination of the EK Loop FPT fans, which ramp up to a whopping 2300 RPM, as well as the capable pump. Build quality has also been kept in check, with EK providing sleeved tubings, and brushed aluminum side panels.
I am also a huge fan of the cable management system EK has employed, which includes daisy-chained fans, well-positioned fittings, and a rotatable pump head. Additionally, EK has provided a compartment near the end of the radiator to hide the tube connections for a better overall look. Topping all of that is the A-RGB on the fans and the pump, a great addition for people like me who need the RGB flair in their builds.

On the other hand, you get a 38mm radiator, which benefits from its increased surface area, and an optimized in-house pump capable of reaching speeds of up to 2800 RPM.
Even with the addition of the 60mm fan, the noise output is fairly reasonable, coming in at 39.4 dBA in our tests. Apart from that, I love how Arctic has made the VRM fan on the pump removable while also providing the option to control the fan separately, a feature that was missing in the previous iteration of the cooler. PRO TIP: Depending on your fan config and PC case size, you can install the 240mm radiator at the bottom, front, or top of the case for optimum performance.
The be quiet! Light Loop has the same average characteristics as most AIOs regarding radiator thickness and FPI. It does, however, use be quiet’s Light Wings LX fans with 9x blades, rated for 61.8 CFM. The cold plate uses an enhanced design with densely packed fins. In our testing, the cooler had the Ryzen 7 7800X3D maxing out at just 66°C during a Cinebench 2024 multi-core run. The Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 air cooler consists of six heat pipes offering premium cooling even for air coolers. In fact, during our performance test, the cooler did not thermal throttle the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and we saw average temperatures around 60°C. While it boasts a premium build quality, the Dark Rock Pro 4 has a dual-tower design, a brushed black aluminum top cover, and a diamond-cut finish. Furthermore, the copper baseplate helps with heat absorption and the heat pipes are directly connected to the baseplate, improving thermal performance.
As far as design is concerned, the Dark Rock Pro 4, like other coolers in the Dark Rock family, focuses mainly on performance, keeping aesthetics aside. Still, the modest deep-black aesthetics aren’t too bad, and the cooler looks stunningly handsome despite the lack of the RGB most other coolers have.

Shinobi responded to a thread on ResetEra, claiming that the Developer Direct will, in fact, feature a 4th announcement/reveal. He said that it’s a game that will excite many people, but he isn’t personally much into it.
Xbox has a lot of rumored projects in the works, so we can kind of guess as to what the title will be. First of all are the Fallout remakes, New Vegas and Fallout 3, are reportedly getting remakes, so there’s that.

Interestingly, players have the choice to traverse the landscape in multiple ways, whether by riding a dragon, a bear, or piloting a mecha, and if developer Will Powers is right about the size of the map, fans will definitely need to choose the dragon.

In a developer interview with New Game+ Showcase, Pearl Abyss developer Will Powers revealed that Crimson Desert’s open world will be twice as big as Skyrim’s and will be larger than Red Dead Redemption 2’s map.

The developer further explained that the game’s world will be very interactive, with many activities and distractions for fans. However, Powers disclosed a disappointing fact that there won’t be much emphasis on RPG elements in the Crimson Desert open world.
Players won’t be able to romance characters, but thanks to the sheer size and depth of the map, playthroughs will be radically different depending on what quests you choose. The developer further emphasised that Crimson Desert will empower the player’s own choice rather than guiding them in a certain direction.

From the looks of it, fans will have a lot to pick from as the single-player title will even have Sky Islands to explore. With a main story ranging between 50-80 hours, players will have plenty of time to explore the massive open world of Crimson Desert and ride dragons or pilot mechas.

Despite giving away free games worth thousands of Dollars, Epic Games Store has failed to overtake Steam, with Valve’s platform continuing to break records every year. Players on PC have consistently chosen Steam over EGS in the past few years, thanks to the former’s tendency to prioritize players above all else.
As it turns out, the Epic Games Store has seen a sharp increase in players since the start of this decade; however, this hasn’t led to substantial revenue growth.
Why it matters: Many think Steam has a monopoly over PC players, but that is only because competitors made mistakes and Valve offers brilliant fan service.
According to data compiled by a Reddit user, the Epic Games Store has seen its user base grow by 173% since 2019. The launcher had about 108 million players in 2019, as per Epic’s report, and this number has grown to 295 million as of December 2024.
However, third-party revenue has failed to increase by a similar margin, as the chart shows that overall gross from third-party titles has risen only 1.6%.
The company generated $255 million in third-party revenue in 2024, only $4 million more than its gross in 2019, despite having 190 million more players. Hence, it feels like users are just grabbing the free titles and heading back to Steam.

Intel, like AMD and Nvidia, has entered the GPU market in recent years. While Intel’s graphics cards are still very much a work in progress, the company has covered a lot of ground, especially considering how new it is to the discrete graphics market.
Much of the credit for Intel’s progress goes to executives like Tom Peterson, who are constantly monitoring the PC gaming space to identify ongoing problems. In a recent interview, Tom Peterson also discussed the current state of stuttering in PC games and how it ruins immersion.
Why it matters: Stuttering, particularly in games using Unreal Engine 5, has become all too common lately, with very few titles being immune to this issue.
Speaking to Digital Foundry, Tom Peterson acknowledged that realism isn’t his primary concern when it comes to the future of gaming.
He argues that a lack of immersion isn’t the primary factor breaking immersion in games today, since stuttering has yet to be addressed. As Tom Peterson puts it, Intel and its discrete graphics department are focused on making games run and look like ‘butter.’
The executive also pointed to Google’s project Butter, which aimed to make scrolling on Android phones as smooth as possible. This is effectively what Intel hopes to achieve for games, leveraging AI, better rendering techniques, and more in the process.
I don’t think that’s the primary thing that’s breaking immersion right now. It’s this whole stutter thing.

Team Blue Believes Stuttering Is A Huge Problem For Gaming
To that end, Team Blue previously announced Precompiled Shader Distribution for reduced stuttering and improved shader caching. Although shader downloads will be limited to a select few games initially, the idea shows quite a lot of promise.
Elsewhere, studios like CDPR are also working on finding a solution to Unreal Engine 5’s stuttering. Clearly, then, the industry is aware of the gaming industry’s gripes with stuttering and is actively working on various solutions.
