As per a new leak from a credible source, Assassin’s Creed Invictus will allegedly feature Fall Guys-like gameplay.
16 players will compete in a round, with various games mixed within. Multiple game modes have been mentioned.
There will be a team deathmatch mode and a speed mode to diversify the multiplayer gameplay.
The Assassin’s Creed franchise has seen its fair share of ups and downs in the past. However, despite much controversy, it is showing signs of a noticeable resurgence with the next mainline entry set in Japan. On the flip side, Ubisoft appears to be going all out again with its eccentricities in the IP’s other in-development title, Assassin’s Creed Invictus.
The game’s first major leak scoop reveals that it will feature Fall Guys-like gameplay with 16 players competing in a round. Each round will feature an assortment of games mixed within to keep things intense and competitive.
Why it matters: The leak confirms that Assassin’s Creed Invictus will feature some interesting multiplayer gameplay heavily inspired by Fall Guys. However, the player reception has already started to falter after these recent findings.
As outlined on the Reddit post, the findings were discovered by the credible Assassin’s Creed leaker, J0nathan, who already boasts a solid track record with Assassin’s Creed Shadows. He mentioned that Assassin’s Creed Invictus will include multiple game modes, including the popular team deathmatch format, a speed game mode, and more.
The players can choose a unique power whenever they qualify for the next round. Additionally, you could choose from a motley of characters across the AC franchise; Ezio and Cesare Borgia have already been named.
The arcade-style gameplay will resemble Fall Guys in its structure, including a camera far from players, hits without real impact, and a “power shield” like seen in Smash Bros.
Ubisoft is currently diligently developing Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the next mainline entry in the franchise.
Lastly, the game maps will incorporate elements from the previous games, such as Baghdad, Japan, a Paradise Island map, and more.
All in all, player reception regarding the leaked gameplay is already quite mixed. But barely anything is known about Assassin’s Creed Invictus in the first place, so it is best to take these recent findings with a pinch of salt.

A detailed analysis shows you need at least an RTX 4070 to run Final Fantasy 16 at native 1080p 60 FPS at medium.
This makes over 90% of Steam users unable to reach 60 FPS because of the optimization issues.
Only 6% of users on Steam have an RTX 4070 or a better GPU, making the game limited for the masses.
Square Enix released Final Fantasy 16 on PC a few days ago to an underwhelming response. While the title was expected to dominate big time on the platform, performance issues have many skipping it altogether.
A new analysis shows that over 90% of the players can’t run Final Fantasy 16 at 1080p 60 FPS at a native medium resolution on a PC.
Why it matters: Square Enix doesn’t seem to have put too much effort into optimization. Therefore, visually more stunning games that should be much more demanding on the system are easier to run than Final Fantasy 16.
The graph shows Final Fantasy 16 only runs at native medium 1080p 60 FPS on RTX 4070 and above
According to a detailed analysis, to run the game at 100% scaling without using DLSS or FSR 1080p medium at 60 FPS, you need at least a GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card. The GPU falls in the upper mid-range of GPUs, which everybody can’t afford.
If you look at cheaper options like the RX 6600 or RTX 4060, they can hardly hit 40 FPS. However, using the upscaling tech for a better experience has become a norm these days, but the performance looks outright bad compared to the competition.
Final Fantasy 16 had a quite underwhelming launch
Alan Wake 2 was released last year and is still amongst some of the best-looking games of all time. Even that game manages to run perfectly even on lower mid-tier GPUs, with which Final Fantasy 16 struggles to run at a decent frame rate.
For context, Final Fantasy 16 even struggles on the PS5. Its resolution drops to 720 and is upscaled, but even then, it has huge occasional dips in FPS.
The company plans to extend its availability by launching more multiplatform games. So, optimization is something they’ll have to put a major focus on, as it can make or break a game for the audiences.
At Tech4Gamers, I mainly cover new gaming news, leaks, and rumours. Aside from that, I love to write features about my favourite games while inserting my opinion about their different aspects.

It has recently been revealed that Concord cost over $400 million to develop.
This makes it the biggest failure in the history of gaming, which shouldn’t be taken lightly.
The game was reportedly being pushed by one of Sony’s leading figures, Hermen Hulst.
Many would know by now that a failure occurred by PlayStation, known as Concord. This game was in development for 8 years, and as soon as it was revealed to the public, it was deemed a failure. I honestly don’t understand how Sony didn’t see it coming.
Concord’s failure was pretty much obvious after its betas were released. The game had a really underwhelming launch, and just two weeks after it was released, Sony took it offline.
Now, a New report has highlighted that Concord was much more to Sony than we would have thought, and it is actually the biggest failure in the history of gaming.
Why it matters: Given the $40 price tag and how generic this live service hero shooter looked, the failure was pretty much a given. However, Sony never once thought that it could fail, as the gaming giant had hopes no one would have imagined.
The Future of PlayStation, Really?
Concord Was Reportedly Known As The Future of PlayStation
It is pretty hilarious that this generic live service title was considered the future of PlayStation. Can you believe it? Can you really believe this game was called the future of PlayStation? How could one look at it and say that this is the future of a multi-billion dollar company?
Maybe I am too dumb to comprehend all this, but you can see that the aftermath wasn’t pretty. A very reliable source confirmed that this game was called ‘The Future of PlayStation’ and that it cost well over $400 million to develop.
Of course, Sony did not allocate all of the money, as the gaming giant acquired the studio after the game was in development. However, this live service title was in a really bad condition, which is why even more money was spent on it.
The total sum is said to be $400 Million, which is a lot. For reference, the development and marketing budget of Red Dead Redemption 2 is estimated to be around $300-500 Million. The development cost is estimated to be around $200 Million.
This is a huge chunk of money, but look at the difference between these two titles. One is the 7th best-selling game of all time, and one is the biggest failure of all time.
Someone Was Being Delusional
When the game’s alpha was ready, as per the sources, it was in a laughable shape. However, when it was in the alpha stage, $200M was already spent on it. For now, it is unclear how much of the money Sony allocated to $200M, but it has been revealed that after the alpha state, Sony allocated a similar sum.
So, Sony would have spent well over $200 million. This title was being called a baby of Hermen Hulst as he was a massive fan. There was this ‘positive toxicity’ internally, which would not let anyone say anything bad about the game.
If anyone didn’t like the character, the design, or literally anything, they would simply have to not say anything. That is how this game was launched. It seems like the current head of PlayStation, Hermen Hulst, has also played a major role in its failure.
So, many were being delusional about the game’s success. It is estimated to have sold around 25k on both platforms, but everyone who bought the game was refunded.
Is Concord Coming Back?
This Live Service Game Coming Back Even As A F2P Title Might Is Unlikely To Perform Well (Image by Tech4Gamers)
Some recent activity at Steam did hint that this live service title could be coming back. Sony might be planning to revive it as a Free-to-Play model, but its open beta was F2P, and not many played it.
So, it seems like the revival won’t make much sense, but given how this game was treated, I won’t be ruling out this possibility. Some fans who enjoyed the game are hoping for a comeback, but it is unlikely to work.
That said, the director has already stepped, and layoffs are expected very soon. The studio seems to be in a very sorry condition right now and is likely to face a closure.
After such a failure, it is a miracle that Sony hasn’t closed this studio yet. However, given this new information, it makes sense why the developer is still hanging to the thread.
Concord is actually the biggest ever first-party game by PlayStation budget-wise. So, this is the story of the biggest failure in gaming history. Hopefully, we won’t get to see more of such incidents, as this would ultimately hurt the very gaming industry we adore.

Assetto Corsa has mods for racing tracks, real-life highways, and custom circuits, so you can drive anywhere.
It also consists of over 7,000 vehicles, with each having mechanics replicating the real-life version of it.
The smallest of the details can be changed, including the weather, the sky, and the traffic – which makes it the best racing game.
It’s been almost 10 years since Assetto Corsa was released, but it wasn’t as appreciated as it is today. This is purely because of the heavy rise in its modded community, which has taken the the boring base game to a whole new level.
Arcade Vs. Simulators
Arcade
The racing games are divided into two categories: Arcade and Simulators. Arcade games focus on providing the best visuals using the best vehicles; in short, it makes you feel like you’re a protagonist driving a car in a Hollywood action movie.
These games also have easy-to-learn controls, and the physics is also exaggerated, which means colliding with a wall at high speed doesn’t have much impact.
These games often feature an exaggerated visual style, vivid colors, and beautiful scenery to provide the ultimate spectacle while driving. They include the NFS series, the Forza Horizon series, the Crew series, and the Forza Motorsports series, which is now dead.
Simulators
Simulator games focus on realism over anything. Assetto Corsa is purely a racing simulator with its aim to provide an extremely realistic driving experience. This means you have to drive as realistically, and collisions result in penalties.
Assetto Corsa’s physics engine is renowned for its accuracy, as every vehicle has a different handling, and you can feel it. This is why it requires skill and precision to master the game’s physics if you’re switching from arcade games.
Customization & Mods
Now that you know the difference between arcade and simulator games, let’s discuss Assetto Corsa. But we can’t talk purely about Assetto’s base game because it is terrible. It lacks depth, there are limited vehicles, and the game isn’t even open-world, to begin with.
Extensive Modding Community
The community saw the potential to modify it to give it a completely different outlook and created a website called Assetto World. Here, modders from around the world expand the game with mods to this day, even after 10 years of this game’s release.
Assetto World (Image By Tech4Gamers)
Many popular mods receive regular updates, with the latest updates only four days old (at the time of writing this article). This shows that the community works together like an official company works on its games.
No two modded Assetto Corsa games can look the same. This is the level of modding this game has. Also, most mods are free for the community to enjoy. However, people are making a living out of the paid mods because of how much they sell.
Racing Tracks
Since the game was limited in nature, Assetto Corsa goes well beyond what its developers initially intended. Now, the game is riddled with community-generated racing circuits from around the world.
Racing Tracks & Highways (Image By Tech4Gamers)
The modding community has also added routes and highways from real life, such as California highways. Moreover, the community has made custom tracks for you to enjoy different locations. We have a total of around 1K track mods.
Vehicles
While the base game consists of hardly 200 cars (only 178), the modded vehicles can have more than 7,000 vehicles, which is still increasing. Not to mention, these cars are fully functional, with the specifications mentioned in their details.
Vehicles In Assetto World (Image By Tech4Gamers)
Weather, UI & Other Small Details
The mods don’t stop there; they branch out to the tiniest details. Even the hanging car air freshener has its own physics and dangles with the car’s movement. The interiors of each car are designed precisely to replicate the vehicles in real life. These realistic graphics mods are one of the highest-rated mods for this game.

Furthermore, the weather can be fully changed to whatever you want. You can also change the AI of the traffic so they can respond in the way you like.
Better With A Steering Wheel
With these mods, racing in the traffic feels more fun and real because of the smoother physics each car arrives with. The drifting is also much better than other games and feels more fluid.
You expect to get tons of vehicles and tracks from a racing game, and the modded version has it all. All of these mods enhance the game, causing it to break its concurrent player records after 10 years. With these mods’ many options, you never get bored of the game.

Having custom maps in Valorant could mean having dedicated maps for 1v1, sniper-only, and practice matches.
Having retakes in Valorant with its agent’s abilities would be extremely fun to play and would take half the time.
Custom servers that can play with all of Valorant’s skins for free would help players test them out before purchasing.
It’s been four years since Valorant was released, and we still haven’t received custom maps and servers. Now, it is high time Valorant brought this feature, as it is always better to allow the community to create amazing servers and maps.
Custom Maps
Believe it or not, a portion of Counter-Strike’s success belongs to the community because Valve has given the community freedom to create what they want on their own game. Even the creation of CS was accidental, as CS itself was a mod made for Valve’s Half-Life.
Having custom servers and maps opens doors for a lot of creativity for the community.
Content Diversity
If this is implemented, Valorant can finally have custom maps dedicated to 1v1 battles. In CS2, plenty of 1v1 maps have spots for cover and are smaller but large enough to accommodate two players.
Currently, 1v1 is terrible using Valorant’s maps because they are huge, and half of the time, they are covered in walking toward your opponent. Similarly, we can also have dedicated maps for snipers only.
In CS2, Sniper-only maps contain elevated platforms and narrow spaces around them, making very effective matches. Other maps include tons of locations for cover, aiding the battle.
Empowering Creators
Custom maps will allow the community to showcase their creativity. Often, the creators who are admired for their maps on Steam Workshop become popular among the community, and players wait for their next maps.

Beneficial For Valorant
Developers can observe popular custom maps and servers to gain insights into player preferences. They can integrate the ideas into their official maps and use the players as testing grounds for their new mechanics and map layouts.
Would Compliment Agent’s Abilities
While the agent’s abilities make Valorant harder than CS2, keeping them in mind while making these maps would greatly complement each agent. This way, there could be a tower map for only Jett to fly onto or Raze to jump onto using her Satchel.
All Agents In Valorant (Image By Tech4Gamers)
Other maps could include multiple entries to the same location, and here, Sage’s wall and other agents’ abilities can help block a few of the entries. The community had both views on Abyss for its falling feature, which can be added to their custom maps.
Extended Lifespan
Counter-Strike hasn’t lost its charm and has always stayed relevant since its release. Part of this is because of the custom servers and maps that the community has created over its lifetime.
People who get bored of Valve’s dedicated servers or the community-created maps. This could also be the case for Valorant, which could enjoy extra years of relevance due to this feature.
Nostalgia & Innovation
Fans love to recreate the maps that are temporarily removed, and if players are given the ability to have custom maps and servers, all of Valorant’s removed maps can be played.
Counter-Strike players have recreated the classic maps of CS 1.6, which are playable for CS2. Similarly, people are innovative and have crafted the same maps Valorant has for Counter-Strike.
Retake servers are very popular in Counter-Strike because they comprise shorter sessions with only one site available. The match begins with the spike already being planted, and you have to defuse it while your opponent’s team has to defend it.
CS2 Custom Retake Servers (Image By Tech4Gamers)
Here, the time is short but the stakes are high which make for amazing gameplay with many strategies. Valorant players could enjoy the same high-stake scenario but would be even better because of the inclusion of agent’s abilities.
Training & Practise
CS also has many practice servers where bots stay still or move in various locations with different angles and distances. This allows for better practice and would benefit Valorant since its practice range is outdated, boring, and not as effective.
Free Skins
In CS, a few custom servers contain all the skins present and can be playable using a code such as “!skins” or “!knife.” If this gets included in Valorant, it would be extremely fun and everyone can test the skins and play with them before purchasing them.

NVIDIA’s Generative Physical AI is a revolutionary technology that allows AI to control robots in real time.
The AI is trained in simulated environments and with human demonstrations to make the robots perform complex tasks and move more naturally.
This technology has the potential to automate many tasks currently requiring human labor.
The world of technology is rapidly evolving, reaching breakthroughs every few months. Among these, AI and reinforcement learning has been one of the most important advancements in human history.
While most people think of a digital program when they hear the word AI, companies have been working towards giving these models a physical body to work with. Among said companies, NVIDIA’s Generative Physical AI is revolutionary.
NVIDIA: Advancing Technology
RTX 4090 Graphics Card (Image by NVIDIA)
NVIDIA is not a name that needs any introduction. It has made revolutions in technology all across the board, but most know them for their tech related to improving game experience.
From its graphic cards to drivers, it has made the lives of gamers throughout the world better. However, it also engages in other technologies, as seen by NVIDIA’s CUDA Cores helping with quantum computers.
The latest revolution from them is the Generative Physical AI, a way for physical models to make decisions in real time.
What Is NVIDIA’s Generative Physical AI?
One of the purposes of human advancements in science is to make our lives more convenient. This means to do away with anything that requires effort and has an alternative.
Anything requiring motor functions fits this criterion, as machines can perform tasks with more accuracy than humans. However, these machines usually have to be operated by a human, which isn’t effective.
The goal of Physical AI and other similar projects is to automate these things that have no reason to require human interaction, so humans can focus on things that do require their minds.
A physical robot using Physical AI (Image by NVIDIA)
If you have any interest in AI, chances are you already know what reinforcement learning is. In the simplest of terms, Reinforcement Learning trains AI using a trial-and-error process.
This can be done in various ways and works by rewarding the machine for getting a result closest to the desired one. This can then be paired with Neural Networks to further increase the effectiveness.
Simulated Environments
NVIDIA’s Isaac Sim in a Simulated Environment (Image by NVIDIA)
The Physical AI also uses virtual simulations for the first step of learning. This is important, as giving the program a physical body at the start can result in drastic equipment damage, and slow down the process.
There are also a limited number of physical machines. In a simulated environment, millions of generations and variations of the machine’s progress can be managed at once.
Human Sampling
Learning from a human model (Image from NVIDIA)
NVIDIA also uses human sampling to make its Physical AI even stronger. They do it by showing the AI what humans would do in certain situations, giving them a chance to learn and try to replicate them.
This, unlike traditional Machine Learning, allows the AI to perform better in a more natural way. In a purely simulated environment, the intelligence can often exploit program glitches and get closer results that way. In a real-world environment, this can be extremely dangerous.
What To Expect From Physical AI?
NVIDIA has certainly made leaps in Machine Learning, but it’s nowhere near perfect enough even for testing, much less for commercial use. It might take years or even decades before we get to see its full use, but it still is a leap in technology.
Presently, robots using Physical AI have shown to be able to perform complicated tasks such as drumming or putting a thread to a needle without human help.
A robot recognizing objects in real time (Image by NVIDIA)
Physical AI has also been shown to improve the way these robots traverse and move, making them less likely to trip and fall. By learning from humans, they’ve learnt to balance themselves without any manual calculations.
If this continues to improve at the same pace, it won’t be a stretch to say most tasks requiring motor movement can be replaced by machines.
Transport, assembling, and lots of repetitive tasks could be given for machines to handle by themselves, with the Physical AI serving as a replacement for human checking.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is the latest hit in the gaming industry.
The gratifying combat, stellar visuals, and brutal melee finishers make for an enjoyable back-to-basics experience.
The game is not without its faults, but the good heavily outweighs the little bad there is.
Warhammer’s latest spin-off is all the rage at the moment. Following big releases like Black Myth: Wukong and Palworld earlier this year, nobody expected another surprise hit of this magnitude, yet here we are.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is said to be Europe’s second-biggest launch this year, and this is no small feat. As a newcomer to the franchise who got caught up in all the buzz and decided to give the game a go, it’s easy to see why everyone is so enamoured with this heart-pumping experience.
In many ways, Space Marine 2 is the antithesis of the modern AAA title. It takes me back to a more nostalgic era of gaming, one that I often look back upon with very fond memories.
Why it matters: This Warhammer spin-off may not have been on everybody’s radar, but it certainly deserves your attention.
The Gameplay Is Pure Fun
The Campaign Presents An Incredible Sense of Scale | Image via Tech4Gamers
Space Marine 2 is all about the combat. This approach means that the game isn’t for everyone, and you’ll either love it or hate it. Fortunately for me, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the experience.
The core gameplay loop is built around switching between third-person shooting and melee combat, with the weapon variety on offer creating the opportunity to mix things up further. Each ranged weapon packs a punch, and I quickly grew to like the Las Fusil sniper for its utility in long-ranged combat.
Whether you choose to rain hell upon enemy hordes with the Multi-Melta or burn Xenos swarms to a crip using the Pyreblaster, there’s always fun to be had in the third-person shooting segments of combat. However, melee combat is where Space Marine 2 truly shines.
There’s nothing quite like crushing your foes with a fully charged swing of the Thunder Hammer and ending them with an immensely satisfying execution. The executions are also incredibly gory and downright brutal, and they’re short enough to where they never interrupt the flow of gameplay.
All these mechanics come together to present exhilarating combat and epic battles that will leave you wanting more once you wrap up the single-player campaign.
Back To The Basics
Space Marine 2 Is A Throwback Done Right | Image via Tech4Gamers
The game does not rely on skill trees, overly serious storytelling, open-world elements, or checklist-style objectives to artificially inflate playtime. These tropes, while practically staples of modern AAA titles, are entirely absent from the Space Marine 2 experience.
Instead, developer Saber Interactive nails the core combat and presents an abundance of shooting galleries for players to enjoy. Some may call this loop shallow, but I liked the more focused approach here.
It also helps that the gameplay itself is so satisfying. Moreover, I appreciate that Space Marine 2 isn’t as long as your average AAA offering today. While most games aim for as much playtime as possible, this Warhammer spin-off respects your time.
One might argue that the nearly seven-hour single-player mode is a bit too short, but that’s where the multiplayer component comes in. This multiplayer mode is yet another callback to a bygone era of gaming.
Space Marine 2 does not try to keep you engaged in PvP at all times with a Battle Pass or a never-ending grind. Instead, it uses the existing solid fundamental gameplay to offer an experience that you can quickly jump in and out of.
It’s the perfect substitute for those craving more Ultramarine action after completing the campaign.
Final Thoughts
Each Environment In The Campaign Is Gorgeous And Detailed
While Space Marine 2 is far from perfect, it shows the importance of focused gameplay and well-crafted games. Saber Interactive never intended to create a jack-of-all-trades AAA experience, and this approach paid off.
Sure, the game isn’t perfect and could have used a few improvements. A cover system, for one, was sorely needed here, in my opinion. The gameplay, while enjoyable from start to finish, could have used just a tad more variety as well.
However, these are small problems in the grand scheme of things. What the game does well is nailed to perfection, making it easy to ignore the few faults that show up here and there. As a newcomer to the franchise, I’m already invested, and I look forward to diving further into the Warhammer universe.
I suspect the same holds true for many others, making this spin-off more than just another release in an existing franchise. Saber Interactive’s latest release is a huge triumph, and everyone at the studio should be proud of what the team has achieved here.

The Teamgroup PD20M MAG is available in 1TB and 2TB capacities. It is in titanium gray, which looks quite pleasant in person. It also blends in well with the iPhone colors. The drive has a dimension of 70xx62x8.2mm. The thickness of this drive is 8.2mm, which is even less than the thickness of the iPhone 15.
This SSD’s weight of 40 grams is even better. This makes it ideal for easy carriage anywhere. I think Teamgroup is using a 2260 or 2240 form factor NVMe SSD in this product. There is probably a PCIe Gen3 NVMe SSD inside.
The product is designed in Taiwan. PD20M Mag Portable SSD is printed on the backside. This portable drive has a powerful magnetic force of over 800g. This makes sure that drive does not budge in case of any sudden movement.
This drive has a USB Type-C port. It is capable of USB 3.2 Gen2x2 delivering up to 20Gbps transmission speed. This is impressive because next big thing is USB 4.0 and Thunderbolt series drives. Since USB 4.0 is still new, USB 3.2 Gen2x2 is a perfect interface for fast storage speeds.
Teamgroup has used a bent, ribbon-style flat USB-C cable. You can use this drive on any device with a USB Type-C port. However, there is no USB-C to USB-A adapter cable with this product, so you are limited in that sense. I can choose to ignore this shortness since this product is designed primarily for mobile phones.
Testing
This drive was operating at USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps) speeds on a Thunderbolt 4 port on MSI MEG Z790 ACE MAX, which seems to be a limitation of this drive. I have tested this drive on the AMD X670E platform. One observation on the AMD platform is that it does not run the drive to its full potential on 4K performance. Here is the test configuration:
Microsoft Windows 11 23H2 is used for the testing.
CrystalDsikInfo (Image By Tech4Gamers)
I am showing a run of CrystalDiskInfo above. This drive’s firmware is X0206AM0. It supports UASP, meaning it does not need a dedicated power supply. Listed standards are ACS-2 and ATA8-ACS version 4C. The drive features S.M.A.R.T., NCQ, TRIM, and GPL.
Device Manager properties (Image By Tech4Gamers)
I have checked the Device Manager properties of this drive. This drive is set for Quick Removal by default. This makes sense as it would avoid the hardware damage or data loss in case of removing the drive without unmounting it first. However, you could lose a better performance without write caching.
The Teamgroup PD20M 1TB drive has spectacular sequential throughput performance, reaching 20Gbps in sequential reads and 18Gbps in sequential writes. Radom 4K performance metrics are also fine.
This drive reached 1.98 GB/s in sequential read performance and 1.71 GB/s in sequential write in the ATTO Disk benchmark, proving its performance metrics.
This benchmark is important not only because of the drive’s speed but also because of the supported formats. It is quite handy for video workers. The read and write speeds on 4K are impressive. This drive can easily handle the 8K video and imaging workload as well. You can see that this drive handles ProRes 422 HQ well, even in 8K DCI 60. 4K 60FPS in ProRes is no biggie for this drive. This is an impressive performance.
The 3DMARK Storage benchmark shows a 966 score on this drive, which has 154.05 MB/s bandwidth and a 173s µs average access time.
This drive scored 1020 in the Data Drive benchmark. The bandwidth is 154.86MB/s, and the average access time is 156 µs, almost confirming the test result of the 3DMARK Storage benchmark.
The large dips in the write speeds indicate a small cache that fills quickly, affecting the data speeds. However, the read speed is almost a straight line, with only one dip across the line.
Real World Testing
I prepared a 97GB highly compressed file. This data was copied to the Teamgroup PD20M Mag Portable drive, and from there, we used DiskBench to perform the various operations mentioned below.
DiskBench – Read File
DiskBench – Copy File
We first read a 97GB compressed file. The operation took 1.03 minutes and was completed at an average speed of 1546 MB/s.
Next, we copied the file from Sabrent Rocket 4P 2TB NVMe SSD to the Destination Folder on the PD20M drive. This would mimic the continuous writing from the iPhone to the PD20M portable drive. The average speed was 436 MB/s for this operation, and it took 34.487 seconds to complete.
All three tests show a good performance gain in the real world.
Thermals
Thermal Results (Image By Tech4Gamers)
We saw a maximum temperature of 66°C at an ambient temperature of 30°C on this drive.
Should You Buy It?
Buy It If
✅You are looking for a fast, portable drive: the Teamgroup PD20M uses a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 interface capable of 20Gbps transmission.
✅You want MagSafe compatibility and magnetic handling: If you are a content creator and use your iPhone regularly, then this drive is a perfect candidate to increase storage space. Its magnetic force is over 800 g, making sure it will stick like glue to your phone.
✅You prefer great value: This 1TB drive retails at USD 82.99, making it the best value for your bucks.
Don’t Buy It If
❌You are not happy with the slow cache at times: Honestly, I don’t see a reason why you should not get this drive. However, if you absolutely want the fastest cache speeds at all times, you may dislike it. But again, my experience has been great, and I will recommend it to everyone.
My Thoughts
The need for fast, portable storage solutions is ever-present, and with advancements in technologies enabling content creators to drive fast-paced competition, this need is even more glaring. Brands are coming out with their products, allowing heavy users to add fast portable storage solutions to their setup.
However, there is a catch. Most of these portable drives are expensive. This is no longer the case, as Teamgroup has provided PD20M Mag portable SSDs available in 1TB and 2TB capacities. These drives are not only fast, meeting or even exceeding the permitted transmission speeds on the host devices, but they also cost less.
I have tested a 1TB version of PD20M. This drive is MagSafe compatible, making it an ideal candidate for Apple users. However, you can use these on Android devices. These drives use USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 protocol, hence capable of doing 20Gbps. This is impressive as 20Gbps data transfer speeds on portable drives are still in a drive because USB 4.0 is still in its infancy, and the next big thing is Thunderbolt devices.
Little is known about the SSD used in these drives and the controller. However, it seems like the cache size is limited on these drives, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it could slow down in the long run with heavy data.
Up to a 93-minute clip can be recorded on a 1TB drive using Pre-Res 4K 60 FPS settings. This duration is mentioned to be 144 minutes for a 2TB drive. This is coming from Teamgroup’s internal testing. I could not test myself.
In my testing, this drive had a spectacular performance. Since write caching is not enabled by default, you would be at a bit of a disadvantage, but it is a fail-safe mechanism since the drive operates in quick removal mode by default.
In my real-world testing, a compressed file of 96GB was copied from the PCIe Gen 4 NVMe drive to the PD20M, and the average transfer rate was 436MB/s. The maximum temperature was 66ᵒC at an ambient temperature of 30ᵒC. Teamgroup is offering a 3-year warranty on this drive.

GTA 5, released in 2013, is still one of Rockstar’s best-selling games. Over 200 million units of the title have been sold, making it one of the best-selling titles of all time. However, with Rockstar’s new anti-cheat update, GTA Online is no longer compatible with Steam Deck.
It’s been just a few days since the new anti-cheat system, known as BattlEye, was implemented on the kernel level. The system was implemented to avoid cheaters, who were becoming more of a problem each day.
However, it made the game’s online mode incompatible with Linux and the Steam Deck platform.
Why it matters: The Steam Deck is an incredibly popular handheld and many people prefer it for older titles like GTA 5.
GTA 5 Runs Quite Well On Steam Deck
Rockstar claimed the Steam Deck does not support BattlEye system.
While that is not the case, as the system has already been implemented in other games like DayZ, Arma, Planetside, and some others, the statement makes it clear that the problem arose due to Rockstar’s kernel-level implementation.
Fortunately, Valve has decided to refund GTA 5 for Linux and Steam Deck players. Users who bought the game on Linux or Steam Deck can now do so, and they will receive money in their wallets in 24 or 48 hours.
Those who don’t want to refund their games can settle for single-player mode, which works very well. Rockstar has not done anything about it yet, but Valve has removed GTA 5 from the verified section of its handheld.

Story Highlight
In addition to its $700 price, the PS5 Pro’s stand, disc drive, and shipping costs can increase it to $900.
Building a custom PC within $900 that outperforms the PS5 Pro within similar price ranges is possible.
Besides gaming, a personal computer is helpful for productivity tasks and has more upgradability.
Some time ago, I debated whether a $500 PC could outperform the PS5; performance-wise, the latter easily held the victory sign. Now, the PS5 Pro was announced earlier this month, and its pricing has caused waves of uproar within the community. When a console costs $700 without a stand and a disc drive, you know it’s time to look elsewhere. With the $30 vertical stand, an $80 disc drive, and around $100 for taxes and shipping costs in a few countries, you can build a custom PC for $900. So, we did just that. We built a PC that outperforms the PS5 Pro for around the same price. Don’t believe me? Keep reading ahead.
What Differentiates The PS5 Pro?
The PS5 Pro is simply a refresher version of the PS5—don’t consider it a PS6. However, we do see a few component adjustments here and there. For example, the PS5 Pro’s GPU has 60 Compute Units (CUs) and 33.5 TFLOPS power, which scales right below the RX 7800 XT. I wouldn’t advise thinking this makes the PS5 Pro’s GPU as strong as AMD’s offering because of an 8% slower bandwidth. The PS5 Pro’s GPU will give you ray tracing and AI upscaling, so that’s a good bonus.
I have created a table that showcases the PS5 Pro’s GPU’s on-paper specifications and how it compares to AMD and NVIDIA offerings.

Besides that, the newer PS5 uses the same Zen 2 processor as before but with slightly higher boost clocks. The clock speed increment won’t affect gaming performance much because you’ll usually be gaming at higher resolutions, where GPU power is more important. For storage, the PS5 Pro saw a decent increase to 2TB SSD storage, so I had to keep that in mind while creating my custom PC.
As I stated above, if you’re going to buy a console for ~$900, you might as well build a custom PC for the same price. To prove that a PC within $900 is comparable to the PS5 Pro, I created a build that provides outstanding gaming performance and will also be helpful for productivity tasks.
For starters, I went for the ASRock OC RX 7700 XT GPU as it’s the closest to the PS5 Pro’s equivalent. I chose the Ryzen 5 5600, a remarkable value CPU, to create a decent harmony, especially when paired with the RX 7700 XT. Although I must admit that the 5600 has two less cores than the CPU in the PS5 Pro, it easily exceeds the latter in performance. Plus, the stock cooler is enough, saving us even more money.
I paired the processor with the ASUS TUF Gaming B550 PLUS II motherboard. It’s slightly expensive but offers a better upgradability path. Similarly, the G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 RAM goes above what the PS5 Pro offers. The 2TB NVMe storage covers much of the $900 budget, but it’s on par with the console’s memory, so it’s a decent bargain.
For the chassis, the GAMDIAS Athena M6 Lite White is a budget-friendly option. It comes with 4x pre-installed A-RGB fans, so there won’t be any additional expenses. Lastly, I completed the build with the Corsair RM750e 80+ Gold power supply to ensure no voltage issues. Honestly, it’s not the most affordable PSU, but you won’t have to buy a newer one when you decide to upgrade. Also, you won’t need a CPU cooler because the Ryzen 5 5600 has a stock cooler that does just fine. Voila! There you have it: a PC that overpowers the PS5 Pro within the same budget.
Gaming Benchmarks Of Our Custom PC
Here’s a look at the build’s performance tested at 4K resolution. As you can see, the build averages ~60 FPS in almost all games, which is also what all consoles target.

The Final Choice: Is A PC Better Than A Console?
This might sound biased, but hear me out. A PC can handle multiple tasks, unlike a console such as the PS5 Pro. For example, outside of gaming, your PC will help you with productivity tasks like graphic designing, video editing, 2D/3D animation, and CAD programming, to name a few. You don’t need two separate PCs for gaming and productivity. You can do everything in one build, like the $900 PC we built that outperforms the PS5 Pro.
Similarly, PCs have a better upgradable path, making them more future-proof. You can’t do that with a console. Once the PS6 comes out, you will have to upgrade to play exclusive games. On the other hand, you can play Xbox games, PlayStation games, Nintendo games, (add X-number of consoles here!), and PC-exclusive games on a desktop.
Sure, a console is more accessible for a plug-and-play solution, so the final choice is whatever you prefer. Do you want an easier gaming solution or greater flexibility and more games? Personally, I’d go with a personal computer because I can’t live without the flexibility it provides.
