To cool down the PCB, Gigabyte has gone with 5 copper heat pipes that also cover the VRAM. The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 Vision OC has a default power limit of 270W; however, there is no power limit increasing, which limits further overclocking.
For the VRMs, it uses the same setup as the founder’s edition with 9 phases for the GPU voltage and a 2-phase design for the memory voltage. This might seem a bit low, given that the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 Vision OC does come at a higher price than the reference card. What We Liked
The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 Vision OC features an impressive set of specifications, with a factory overclock of 1815 MHz and the wind force 3X cooling system that provides decent temperatures. Its out-of-the-box performance is quite high due to the 270W power limit. Furthermore, it remains fairly silent under load.
What We Disliked
There is not much to dislike about the Gigabyte Geforce RTX 3070 Vision OC, although a better VRM setup with additional phases would have been nice to see here. Apart from its awesome aesthetics, it is not that big of an upgrade over the reference edition of the GeForce RTX 3070. Both the GeForce RTX 3060 and the 3070 are part of the 3000 Series from Nvidia. They both manage to deliver excellent performance for their price. The GeForce RTX 3070 is a direct competitor to AMD’s mid-range RX 6700 XT. They both share a similar price and target 1440p gaming. Which begs the ultimate question, which one is a better card? Looking at the specifications alone, it becomes clear that the two graphic cards have a lot in common; however, the GeForce RTX 3070 seems to have a slight edge over the RX 6700 XT with a few more shading units and more texture mapping units.
