Splinter Cell Remake Still in Development Despite The Cancelation Rumors, Says Insider

Story Highlight
  • Splinter Cell Remake was announced back in 2021, but recently, Ubisoft went silent on it.
  • Due to the silence and the company’s current condition, fans were concerned that it got quietly canceled.
  • However, as per an insider, the remake is still in development and uses the Snowdrop Engine.

It was announced in 2021 that the Splinter Cell remake is being developed by Ubisoft Toronto. The remake has had a lot of hype and anticipation behind it, but lately, we haven’t much regarding it from Ubisoft.

The company is in turmoil, and due to this condition, there were rumors that the remake has been quietly canceled. However, fans should rest assured that this isn’t the case at all. Just recently, an insider revealed that the remake is making progress at Ubisoft and is being built in the Snowdrop Engine

Why it matters: Splinter Cell, released back in 2002, is still praised to this date for its stealth. While Ubisoft is updating the story for modern audiences, fans still appreciate it, bringing one of the old classics.

Despite The Rumors, The Remake Seems To Be Still in Active Development

One of the most reliable industry insiders has recently revealed that the remake has not been canceled, and it is making progress. He also revealed that the game is being developed under the codename North, and the team is using the Snowdrop engine.

The Splinter Cell Remake is making progress at Ubisoft despite rumors that the game has been quietly canceled. sources have confirmed that the game is being built in the Snowdrop Engine.

-Industry Insider

The insider has a track record of accuracy, which makes this information pretty believable. The previous Splinter Cell games were developed via Unreal Engine 2 and 2.5, so the remake now uses the Snowdrop Engine

For reference, this engine was used to develop games like The Division 2, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

splinter cell battle royale canceled.
Splinter Cell Remake is One of the Most Hyped Remakes of All Time

Previously Ubisoft Toronto also faced some layoffs, and the recent condition of Ubisoft had the fandom worried about the Splinter Cell Remake. However, they don’t have to worry anymore as the remake is being developed.

Previously, the remake was expected to be released in 2025-26, but the insider has suggested that it is more likely to be released in 2026. However, the release window hasn’t been confirmed, so it can be changed at any time.

What do you think about the remake still being in active development? Are you excited about it? Let us know in the comment section below or join the discussion on Tech4Gamers’ official forums.

God of War Greek Saga Remastered Targeting 2025 Release Window, Says Leaker

Story Highlight
  • Recently, a leaker revealed that God of War Greek Saga remastered is being developed by Santa Monica and Nixxes Studios.
  • The leaker also stated that development is already finished and that the developers are just waiting to announce a release date.
  • The remasters are rumoured to be released next year, and the announcement is expected between December 2024 and March 25.

God of War is one of the biggest and most loved franchises in the gaming industry. Just the thought of destroying gods as Kratos excites a massive amount of fandom. While the Kratos in the recent games might not have been as ruthless as he was before, he still showed us what he can really do.

Recently, it was revealed that the God of War Greek Saga was reportedly being remastered by Santa Monica Studios and Nixxes Studios. However, a release window wasn’t disclosed, but the leaker has recently commented on that too.

The development is already finished, and the remasters are targeting a 2025 release window

Why it matters: Sony has been releasing many pointless remasters like The Last of Us Part 2 and the upcoming Horizon Zero Dawn. So, fans really appreciated the giant for remastering this old saga.

Intel Unveils Core Ultra 200S: Big Improvement In Power & Temperature, But Disappointing Performance

The day has come; we can now officially discuss the Intel Core Ultra 200S, the Arrow Lake desktop processor. This debut comprises only the high-performance Core Ultra 200K range, which will go on sale on October 24th. The laptop version will be available in early 2025.

In this extensive article, we will learn about these processors’ new features, which make a big difference compared to the 12th, 13th, and 14th Gen Intel Core processors.

While those three generations of processors are pretty much the same, with the Intel Core Ultra 200S, we have a completely different story. We have a new manufacturing process (Intel 4 in the CPU Tile), a new architecture for high-performance graphics, a new architecture for low-power cores, and even a new GPU.

Other improvements include eliminating Hyper-Threading technology, which generates 2 cores for each P-Core. This technology has been eliminated because it creates a bottleneck in these hybrid design CPUs (combining different cores).

Key New Features of Intel Core Ultra 200S CPUs

As a quick recap, the Intel Core Ultra 200S is said to be the coolest and most efficient gaming CPU on the market. Of course, this is being compared to its predecessors and not AMD. It is said to match the performance of Intel Raptor Lake (13th Gen Core) CPUs while using half the power. While it has lost threads due to the lack of Hyper-Threading, multi-core performance has improved.

To achieve this, we have new P-Core cores under the Lion Cove architecture, which offer a 9% IPC increase over the Raptor Cove. These cores have an improved memory subsystem with 3 MB of L2 cache, up to 36 MB of shared L3 cache, and an AI power management system.

As for the E-Core cores, the Skymont architecture has improved its IPC by 32% compared to Gracemont. To achieve this, the L2 cache bandwidth has been doubled, and adjustments have been made to improve its use.

Overclocking has also been improved, allowing an increase in frequencies of 16.67 MHz on both the P-Core and E-Core cores. This is combined with a double Base frequency on each core type by using an independent BCLK for the SoC and the Compute Tiles.

We have a DLVR bypass and the possibility of overclocking the new CUDIMM memory. All this is combined with a voltage limitation to have better temperatures and the official Intel eXtreme tool to make all these adjustments.

This CPU includes an Intel NPU 3 capable of providing 13 TOPS AI performance. Together with the CPU (15 TOPS) and the iGPU (8 TOPS), it can provide up to 36 TOPS. Something that does not meet the minimum requirement of 40 TOPS of Microsoft Copilot +.

These processors natively support up to 192 GB of DDR5 RAM at 6400 MHz. They also support modules of up to 48GB of capacity in UDIMM, CUDIMM, SODIMM, and CSODIMM formats, as well as ECC memory.

Improvements at the iGPU level

The Intel Core Ultra 200S iGPUs are the first desktop CPUs to feature the Intel Xe-LPG graphics architecture—Alchemist, the same architecture currently used in Intel Arc desktop GPUs. This iGPU uses 4 Xe-Cores accompanied by 4 Ray Tracing Units, 4 MB of L2 cache, and full DirectX 12 Ultimate API support. Don’t expect to run powerful games, but it’s a great bonus.

It also features Xe Vector and Xe Media engines for video encoding and decoding. AI tasks are capable of delivering 8 TOPS performance. It also supports Intel XeSS upscaling technology using DP4a AI instructions. It is a go-to iGPU, but it will be interesting to see how it performs.

Power Consumption Improvements of Intel Core Ultra 200S

According to Intel, its new top-of-the-range CPU, the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, consumes up to 58% less power than an Intel Core i9-14900K. As you can see in the graph, performing office productivity tests, consumption is reduced by 44%.

However, these are unrealistic tests for a CPU of this calibre: office, AI, or Zoom video calls. In the synthetic Cinebench 2024 test, consumption is reduced by 42%. So, it’s time to search through the 69 slides offered by Intel for more exciting tests.

To do this, we have to go to the gaming section. As you can see, there is no improvement in many cases. However, in particular cases, such as Total War: PHARAOH, a CPU-intensive game offering the same performance, the Core Ultra 9 285K consumes 58W less power.

In Warhammer: Space Marines 2, it improves its performance by 4% and consumes 165W less power. Age of Mythology: Retold runs 6% faster while consuming 136W less power.

In this case, we can see that consumption drastically improves in games that require a lot of CPU.

The Coolest Intel Desktop CPUs Seen To Date

As you can see, the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K offers significant power consumption reductions compared to the Intel Core i9-14900K. This comparison is between the top-of-the-range processors of the Intel Core Ultra 200S series and the 14th-generation Intel Core. The Core Ultra 9 285K will come out as the clear winner, consuming, on average, 58% less energy.

Now, these are somewhat illogical tests for processors of this calibre. For context, there is talk of a 44% reduction in energy consumption in office productivity applications or a 58% reduction in consumption in Zoom video calls. Then, we have a 42% reduction in AI and Cinebench 2024 consumption. We had to review up to 67 slides to find more exciting tests. Luckily, the gaming section has relevant details at the consumption level.

On average, the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K is 13ºC cooler than the Intel Core i9-14900K in games. This test was run with 6 games at 1080p resolution and using a 360mm AIO liquid cooler. At worst, Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail improves its temperature by 10ºC. At best, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege reduces its temperature by 17ºC.

Intel Core Ultra 200S Disappoints In Performance

We’ll leave the most interesting part for last: the Intel Core Ultra 200S offers virtually no performance improvements for gamers. The drastic reduction in frequencies to avoid stability problems is noticeable. At least when running at much lower frequencies and being much more efficient and cooler, gaming performance is comparable to that of a previous generation Intel Core i9-14900K. In other words, there is no progress.

The power consumption tests demonstrate this. Out of 14 games tested, the Core i9-14900K was faster in 4, the same number the Core Ultra 9 285K won, and it tied in 6 games. According to this data, the Core Ultra 9 285K is 1% faster on average.

Intel offers a couple of benchmarks against the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, where the Core Ultra 9 285K comes out on top  (not to mention going from 14 games to 5). In content creation, its multi-core performance is much higher, up to 30% faster. But of course, a content creator might prefer a faster Ryzen 9 7950X (not X3D).

The company also compared the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K performance against the already more impressive AMD Ryzen 9 9950X. Out of 15 tests carried out in professional software, the Ryzen 9 9950X only wins 4. Specifically, the Intel CPU is, on average, 21% faster, excluding cases where Intel indicates performance improvements of up to 730% since it would significantly break this average.

Additionally, we have a performance test between the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X. Specifically, we only compare the performance of 1 high-performance core. The Core Ultra 9 is superior. But of course, it only offers 8 of these cores compared to AMD’s 16 cores. We have 16 E-Core cores in multi-core performance to tip the balance in its favour. This makes up for the lack of threads (24 vs 32) and offers greater multi-core performance.

Intel Core Ultra 200S Processors And Launch Prices

CPU Cores Threads iGPU NPU Max Freq. Price
Core Ultra 9 285K 24 (8P + 16E) 24 4 Xe Cores 13 TOPS 5.70 GHz $589
Core Ultra 7 265K 20 (8P + 12E) 20 4 Xe Cores 13 TOPS 5.50 GHz $394
Core Ultra 7 265KF 20 (8P + 12E) 20 Without iGPU 13 TOPS 5.50 GHz $379
Core Ultra 5 245K 14 (6P + 8E) 14 4 Xe Cores 13 TOPS 5.20 GHz $309
Core Ultra 5 245KF 14 (6P + 8E) 14 Without iGPU 13 TOPS 5.20 GHz $294

Another problem with these Intel Core Ultra 200S is the price. These are very high prices, considering that they are processors mainly aimed at gaming. This means that AMD Ryzen 7000X3D outperforms these CPUs and consumes even less power at a more attractive price. Things will worsen with the future Ryzen 9000X3D, which will be subjected to higher frequencies to increase the performance gap with the Ryzen 7000X3D.

If you want a CPU just for gaming, the best option will be an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D. This processor competes in price with the Core Ultra 7 265K but is more powerful than the Core Ultra 9 285K, which is much more expensive.

In short, the Intel Core Ultra 200S are a big step forward for Intel in terms of efficiency and performance. We saw The same thing with Meteor Lake, whose useful life was around six months.

It was an unnecessary launch, accelerating the arrival of the Lunar Lake processors. Processors that have no rival in their market surpass AMD. Well, the same thing seems to happen with these Arrow Lake desktop processors.

The interesting launch will be the Core Ultra 300S, where we expect a notable performance improvement. So these Core Ultra 200S feel like an unnecessary launch when performing like the 14th Genor at much higher prices than their competition.

Microsoft Reportedly Stopping Xbox Sales in Saudi Arabia

Story Highlight
  • This decision to stop Xbox sales in Saudi Arabia is likely due to struggles in meeting revenue expectations.
  • Microsoft has not responded to inquiries about the decision.
  • Xbox has faced challenges in the Middle Eastern gaming market compared to competitors like PlayStation.

Microsoft is said to be stopping Xbox sales in Saudi Arabia. A Saudi journalist, MAlbsimi, reported that the company has officially told major stores in the area that they can no longer sell Xbox consoles.

This decision will also affect distributors, as there will be no new stock of Xbox devices for the region.

Why it matters: According to previous reports, Xbox has struggled to meet revenue expectations after the Activision buyout and is currently in a mess. That might be why the company is stopping console sales in Saudi Arabia to reduce its losses.

Xbox Stopping Sales in Saudi Arabia
There were reports of Microsoft cutting back operations in the EMEA region.

MAlbsimi mentioned that he contacted Microsoft for a comment weeks ago, but the company didn’t respond, which makes the claim seem more believable. He believes that if the rumor weren’t true, Microsoft would have denied it right away.

This news comes after earlier reports that Microsoft is cutting back its operations in the EMEA region. Tom Warren reported in July that Microsoft was reducing its marketing for Xbox consoles in EMEA, shifting its focus to services like Xbox Game Pass and cloud gaming.

It looks like the situation in Saudi Arabia is part of this larger development.

Microsoft hasn’t been as strong in the Middle Eastern gaming market compared to competitors like PlayStation and Nintendo. Xbox is reportedly struggling in areas where PlayStation has a large share.

Xbox Series S|X
Xbox is now seeking developer insights on preference for PS5 over Series S|X.

This might explain why the company decided to stop hardware sales in Saudi Arabia and focus on its growing digital services instead. However, this could widen the gap between Xbox and PlayStation in the region even more.

As Microsoft stays silent, the lack of Xbox consoles in Saudi Arabia could boost PlayStation’s dominance in the market. This is especially after the criticism Xbox received for the Series S’s performance.

Despite MAlbsimi’s sources in the region being generally reliable, it’s important to take these rumors with a grain of salt.

What do you think of this development? Do you think it’s a good idea to halt Xbox production in the Middle East? Let us know in the comment section below or join the discussion on Tech4Gamers’ official forums.

Skull And Bones Costing $850M is Absolutely Ridiculous

Story Highlight
  • Recently, a rumor surfaced online stating that Skull and Bones’ first AAAA title cost $650 million to $850 million.
  • Ubisoft spending such an amount on a game seems absolutely ridiculous to me, but given the state of the company, it doesn’t seem too unrealistic.
  • Due to multiple large-scale failures, the company is in pretty bad condition and is likely to be acquired by Tencent now.

Skull and Bones went through many hurdles during development as it was delayed multiple times. However, fans were still optimistic, as waiting for a game is better than a faulty and underwhelming launch.

However, little did the fandom know that the release was pretty underwhelming, and many were questioning what exactly Ubisoft did during the end of the development period. It didn’t completely flop, but the sales didn’t meet expectations, and that is pretty obvious why.

However, a recent rumour stated that Skull and Bones cost around $650-$850 million, which is absolutely ridiculous

Why it matters: Ubisoft called this pirate game its first-ever AAAA game, so it kind of makes sense why fans would have high expectations or why its budget would be so high.

Skulls and Bones Costing $850 Million Doesn’t Make Sense

Skull and Bones
Ubisoft’s First Ever AAAA Game Reportedly Cost Around $850 To Develop

Recently, it was revealed that Sony spent $400 million on Concord. While it was just a rumor, given how long it was in development and how long the end credits were, it makes sense for the title to cost this much.

However, I don’t understand how this underwhelming pirate game can cost such a massive amount of money to develop. Yes, Ubisoft did say that it is a AAAA game, and it took over a decade to develop it; the $850 million figure just seems too much.

I wouldn’t be that surprised if it was true but spending so much on a single game is such a waste. For reference, games like Red Dead Redemption 2 are estimated to cost between $370 million and $540 million.

However, Rockstar recouped all of that budget and even made some hefty profits. RDR2 is currently the 7th best-selling game of all time, so it is understandable why such a massive amount was spent on it.

On the other hand, Skull and Bones is said to be a failure, which is the main reason why Ubisoft is on the verge of closure. The company hasn’t even revealed how many copies it sold, and it already has been 8 months since it was released.

This shows that the sales were indeed poor and didn’t meet expectations at all. The game also received a 30% price cut just after 2 weeks, and it fell to $20 after 3 months

If It’s True, Then Ubisoft is Bound To Fall

Ubisoft New Featured
Ubisoft is in A Very Poor Condition Right Now Due To Back-to-Back Failures

With how things have been with Ubisoft, it wouldn’t be hard to believe that it spent a whopping $850 million on such a game. The company didn’t even think that it was going to fail as Skull and Bones was being called the first-ever AAAA game.

The game didn’t even have good voice lines, appealing characters, proper boarding, and sword combat. It wasn’t even a good pirate game, so how did the higher-ups say it is AAAA game material? To me, that doesn’t make any sense at all

The company’s stock price gradually fell through the floor, and it is now likely to be acquired by Tencent. So, Ubisoft is not in a very good condition at all. However, a company can’t be in such a situation with just a few failed releases, which means spending around $850 on its first AAAA game doesn’t seem too unrealistic.

The damage was being built up, and after a series of failures of such titles costing the publisher a fortune, it is in a condition from where it is unlikely to go back. This totally makes sense, but I still don’t get why the company would spend such a huge amount of money on this game; it literally baffles me.

If It’s Not GTA 6, It Doesn’t Make Sense

GTA 6
GTA 6 is Reported To Cost Around $2 Billion To Develop

The previously leaked documents revealed that the budget to develop GTA 6 is around $2 billion. Now, I don’t find it hard to believe, as Rockstar has made a lot from the GTA franchise, and the expectations for the next entry are just way too high.

Everyone, including me, is expecting the game to have mind-boggling features. Rockstar is likely to meet the fans’ expectations, and with that budget, it is more likely to do so. Now, this seems doable, and the budget doesn’t seem like that much because it is GTA 6, right?

I am not saying it is justified to have such budgets for video, but just compare the hype and anticipation to the legendary AAAA game Skulls and Bones; that is my point.

Why GTA 5 Became More Successful Than GTA 4?

Story Highlights
  • GTA 5 attracts gamers and non-gamers alike because it focuses more on fun than realism, unlike GTA 4.
  • The map in GTA 5 is more vast than that in GTA 4, providing more side activities and attractive areas than its predecessor.
  • GTA Online is also a big reason why GTA 5 got more successful.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise has been around for more than two decades. During this time, the franchise rose to the top with the memorable games it produced.

Two of the highlighting games are GTA 4 and GTA 5, and they are also compared too much in terms of realism, story, and fun elements. Regardless of which game is better, it’s no surprise that GTA 5 was the more successful one.

GTA 5 Is More Inclined Towards The Fun Element

The success of GTA 5 lies in many things, one of which is the game’s focus on fun instead of realism. The toned-down realism gave birth to more enjoyable driving and other things that make the game fun.

Compared to GTA 4, the driving is less realistic but for the greater good. Driving a car in GTA 4 gives you a bit of a simulation effect, as the car handling is complex.

In GTA 5, handling has been made very easy, removing the simulation effect from the driving and ultimately making it less realistic.

Driving In GTA 5
Driving In GTA 5 (Image By Tech4Gamers)

As a result, the player is less likely to accidentally hit other cars, building corners, and street lights while driving, which makes a huge difference and makes driving less frustrating.

Many players would prefer the driving in GTA 4 for realism, but if we consider the casual and non-casual gamers combined, the correct type of driving to include in your game would be the one anyone can enjoy.

Another thing that makes driving in GTA 5 less realistic and more fun is the ability to control the movement of your vehicle while airborne. This can never be done in real life, but including this feature has boosted the driving experience.

GTA 5 Has More Side Activities, Vehicles, And Some Extra Features

GTA 5 also has many more fun activities, like tennis, sky diving, hunting, racing, triathlons, golf, darts, tons of side missions, and more, compared to GTA 4. GTA 4 also had some excellent activities, like bowling, snooker, and arcade games, but these activities were fewer.

These activities may not play a massive role in making GTA 5 more successful than GTA 4, but these small elements make the game replayable for longer. Moreover, the mini-games or side activities in GTA 5 are a lot more fun. I found bowling in GTA 4 boring.

Triathlons In GTA 5
Triathlons In GTA 5 (Image By Tech4Gamers)

In GTA 5, you can also go underwater via a submarine or swimming, which is impossible in the prequel. The underwater world also has some side missions that explore different ocean areas. There’s also a lot more variety of vehicles in GTA 5. Speaking of which, the lack of airplanes in GTA 4 is also disappointing.

The Successor Comes With A Much Vast Map

The map is another thing that highly differentiates the two games. GTA 4’s map is mainly based on deep city vibes containing buildings, and that’s pretty much it. On the other hand, in GTA 5, you get a city, beaches, mountains, and deserts.

GTA Map
GTA Map (Image By GTA5Map.com)

Not only are they part of the map, but you can also do several activities in these areas of the maps. There are trails for bike riding in the mountains, off-road races in the desert, cycling and triathlons on the beaches, and more.

In GTA 4, the city has been made well as a representation of New York City, but all you can do is roam in it with little to do. In short, GTA 5 has a more vast map.

The Online Support For GTA 5 Is A Game Changer

Out of everything we have discussed so far, the one thing that played the most significant role in making GTA 5 successful over its predecessor is the game’s online mode, GTA Online.

If Rockstar hadn’t provided an online mode for the game, GTA 5 would have never reached its current level. GTA Online contains tons of extra content apart from the base game, including multiplayer heists, races, missions, and more that have kept the players grinding this game for over a decade.

GTA Online

GTA 4’s online mode never received this much attention from Rockstar, which is one reason it falls so far behind GTA 5’s success. The fantastic story and attention to detail were some departments where GTA 4 thrived.

Still, Rockstar’s altered approach, prioritizing” fun” in the series sequel, attracted more players and made it more successful.

The WWE 2K Community Creations Need More Appreciation

Story Highlights
  • The WWE 2K community is unmatchable when it comes to custom creations.
  • The advanced features provided in the creation suite make the creators’ realistic and fun creations possible.
  • The creation suite in the WWE 2K games lets you create realistic-looking character models and highly customizable arenas, entrances, title belts, and more.

2K has made its presence known over the years with its development projects in sports games. They may not be the best in this niche, but they surely have significantly made an impact by producing some of the best installments in the NBA and WWE and one installment in the Mafia series.

They have also gotten terrible reviews in some of their installments, but one thing they have been the most unique and great at is their creation suite, especially in their WWE 2K franchise.

WWE 2K Games Offer An Amazing Creation Suite

Since the franchise’s start, 2K has added top-notch features to its community creations department. Now, almost a decade after the franchise’s release, the creation suite is at the point where it’s difficult to distinguish between in-game content and custom content, thanks to the awesome features provided by 2K.

Because of these creation features, the WWE 2K creation community began, where hundreds of creators contribute by providing their custom content.

The creation suite lets you create custom wrestlers, rings, arenas, title belts, Money In The Bank briefcases, entrances, and more. The custom wrestlers are the most impressive content that can be created using this suite.

Life-like Character Creation

Using the image importing feature, you can create a walking image of a real-life wrestler in the game. To utilize this feature, you must get a clear headshot photo of the wrestler you want to create in the game. Then, you will have to run a facial scan of that image.

After that, you will have to upload that image on the WWE 2K website, log in with the same 2K account in the game through which you uploaded the picture, and download the image.

After getting the image, you have to go to the facial department of your creation model and paste the image on the face of the custom model, which makes it look so real and almost like the developers themselves made it. This feature is probably the best in the game.

It is a lengthy process and may take some practice to get good at, but the community creators have gotten hold of it and created realistic-looking models for years. Not only wrestlers but also creators have made realistic-looking models of many celebrities, athletes, and fictional characters.

You may have seen some funny and hilarious-looking videos of random superheroes from Marvel or DC fighting each other in WWE 2K games. Thanks to this terrific feature, most character models are made using the in-game tools without mods.

You can further customize your models by giving them custom body sizes where you can adjust each part of the body. You can also create custom attires for your models and provide them with custom hairstyles for a unique touch.

Custom Arenas With Tons Of Customizations

Apart from the custom wrestlers/models, the ring and the arenas where the matches occur are also highly customizable. The custom arena option may not have as many elements to choose from, but there are still enough to let the community creators shine in this department.

You can select how you want the stage to look with different LCD boards, lighting, and prop options. The entrance ramp is also customizable with various design and lighting options.

The ringside area also comes with many options where you can change the appearance of the barricades, announce tables, steel posts, turnbuckles, ropes, and the ring canvas. There is also an option to add different logos, in-game images, and custom images to several parts of the arena.

Advanced Entrance Creation

The entrance section also offers many options. You can change your wrestler’s entrance motion, the music they come out to, the lightning style, the pyro, and the videos on the LCD screen. You can also select a set of predefined templates and make some changes.

Creating a custom entrance video for your wrestler is also possible. This video plays on the big LCD screen on the stage during the wrestler’s entrance. There is also an option to combine parts of different entrance motions to make a totally new entrance.

Why Days Gone’s Survival Elements Make It More Exciting

Story Highlights
  • Days Gone is one of the best survival games due to the depth of its survival elements.
  • You have to be careful of the variety of enemies in the open world, which get more dangerous at night.
  • It would help if you also looked after your bike and inventory to survive.

Survival games keep players hooked due to the critical thinking required in the genre. To survive, you must always look for your resources and find new ways to tackle challenging situations.

Things become more interesting if these survival scenarios are applied in an open-world environment, where you must be aware of your surroundings, especially when traveling across the map from one point to another, like in Days Gone.

Rich Open-World

Days Gone is a game with an open-world environment full of survival scenarios. Fans savor it for what it is, and it is one of the most acclaimed zombie games. However, for several reasons, many also view it as a negative entry in the survival and zombie genre. Despite the mixed reviews, it has left a mark.

Days Gone’s open-world environment is what a zombie apocalypse should look like. Different kinds of zombies wander across the map looking for flesh and blood, and they get even more dangerous at night. In addition to the zombies, there are enemy traps and camps set by human enemies.

Whenever you leave your resting place, you are most likely to encounter at least one of these two types of predators. To make things more interesting, the game makes you a responsible person and takes care of several things to survive.

Looking After Your Bike Is Essential

To travel across the map, Deacon(the protagonist) uses a bike that needs to be refilled as its gas tank runs out of fuel.

At the start of the game, fuel can be hard to find. Almost every gas station is swarmed up with zombies, and they have set up their nests there. The only way to find fuel is if you stumble upon a fuel can lying around somewhere, or you can also refill it at an allied camp or your safe point.

The gas stations swarmed up with zombies can be cleared, and when it is, you can use that gas station to refill the fuel tank. However, with limited supplies and no upgrades at the start of the game, it’s hard to clear the hordes of zombies.

You may have to use other ways to get fuel. Moreover, the fuel tank has a limited capacity initially, so you can’t go long distances without refilling.

Apart from the fuel, the bike’s health must also be cared for. Whenever your bike is involved in an accident, it loses health. If the health reaches zero, your bike won’t start. To be sure that never happens, you always need to carry scrap that can be used to fix the bike.

Like the fuel can, scraps can also be found randomly at a camp or under the hood of a broken car. If you don’t have enough scraps to fix your bike, you can also go to a nearby camp, and the camp’s mechanic can fetch and fix the bike for a small price.

Although I don’t enjoy forced traveling in open-world games, I must admit that these details make the traveling so thrilling.

Keep An Eye Out For Your Inventory

The supplies are also essential for your survival. It would help if you carried rags and sterilizers to prepare bandages to heal your health. Similarly, weapons like pipe bombs and Molotovs can also be created using items like kerosene, rags, bear bottles, scraps, gunpowder, and boxes of nails.

Inventory

You can also upgrade your melee weapon using such supplies to deal extra damage, like turning a regular baseball bat can be turned into a spiked one using a box of nails.

You also need to preplan your use of supplies and prioritize the things you want to craft because many crafting recipes require the same item.

Gun ammo must also be spent carefully, as you may only find ammo from enemy(human) weapons after taking them out or at a camp, which will cost you money. But as you earn money doing missions, you can upgrade your guns and ammo capacity to deal extra damage.

The best thing about Days Gone’s survival element is that you need almost every item to survive in the open world. There are enemies and zombie swarms that don’t go down quickly, so you will need to devise different strategies to take them down, which every item in your inventory is essential.

Splitgate: The PvP Portal Game You Wished You Knew About

Story Highlights
  • Splitgate’s gunplay and mechanics are reminiscent of Halo, and it looks and feels incredible for a free-to-play shooter.
  • The portal physics, gunplay mechanics, and player movements all feel fluid as if it were an AAA game.
  • It has always remained underrated, and Splitgate 2 was announced and released in 2025.

Five years ago, Splitgate was released in 2019 and has always been a free-to-play, fast-paced game. It has elements of Halo and Quake, with a slight twist, with portals as one of its main elements. To this day, it remains an underrated gem.

Halo Meets Portal

College Project

Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian were two Stanford University students who combined the elements of the classic Halo 3 and Portal to make a single game from their dorm. Their passion led them to form 1047 Games, and they continued developing it.

They used fast-paced PvP mechanics and gameplay, as in Halo. This includes the jetpack, which you can use to traverse the map easily. It also includes weapons with little to no recoil, which makes shooting rather satisfying. Moreover, it features additional weapons like snipers and rocket launchers as pickups in some maps, which are advantageous for players who obtain them.

Portal

Now, let’s talk about the portal aspect because its mechanics are extremely good. You can place a portal anywhere on the map, and the combination of Halo-inspired combat makes for insane gameplay.

For instance, you can place one portal at the far end of the map where the enemy team is and place the other portal near you. Similar to Portal, Splitgate has also maintained the see-through design of the portal.

Now, you can see your enemies through the portal and take shots at them while remaining in the comfort of your own team’s place. Similarly, you can make your way to the taller spots from this portal, which you couldn’t reach using your jetpack.

Gamemodes & Weapons

Splitgate

Classics

It has similar game modes to Halo, such as Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and King of the Hill. It also has a match dedicated for snipers only and the other for both snipers and shotguns. All of these matches have quick spawns and allow for shorter gaming sessions.

Catch The Ball

There’s also a match dedicated to capturing a football called ‘Splitball.’ Here, you have to obtain the ball that unequips your weapons, and you can only run with that ball. The longer you hold the ball, the more points you make. Your enemy can shoot and take the ball from you.

Competitive Matches

For competitive players, there are matches with scores of up to five points, and each team has to eliminate their opponents. This is similar to Counter-Strike and Valorant except for the bomb-planting scenario.

The matches get intense, especially when you’re the last man standing, and the enemy team still has three players remaining. Using the portal and the pickup weapons came in handy at that time. But, it can also lead to panic because the team rushes with jetpacks.

Weapons

The weapons are also extremely satisfying to use, and each has its own mechanics. For instance, snipers neither have a lot of recoil nor bullet travel, so you don’t have to precisely line up your crosshair at a certain angle.

Similarly, the melee weapon pushes you toward your enemy a few feet closer if you’re close to your enemy. This makes for John Wick-style gameplay when you shoot one far-away enemy with a sniper and switch to your melee to eliminate the closer enemy.

Still Underrated?

In terms of graphics and movements, this game doesn’t feel like it’s a free-to-play shooter. It also doesn’t appear to be a five-year-old game, but it looks as good and robust as new. Its sound, visual effects, and fluid mechanics give it a timeless classic feel.

Despite the immersive gameplay with the combination of portals, this game has always remained underrated. While some even consider it better than Halo Infinite, Splitgate’s player base is on the down low even though it is free-to-play.

Splitagate 2

Now the Splitgate team has announced that Splitgate 2 will be released in 2025, and we expect to see refined mechanics, physics, and gameplay. It would be great if the Splitgate team invested heavily in marketing so that many people would be aware of their game.

With the announcements of the trailers they are making right now, it seems that their next game will be more promising, and it might be well-received than its predecessor.
