Now You Can Play As Wolverine With Custom Movesets In Batman: Arkham Knight

Story Highlight
  • Modder Kalunn has published a new, ambitious mod for Batman: Arkham Knight that lets you play as Wolverine.
  • It comes with a new moveset that suits the character really well, making Wolverine fit perfectly in the game with a skin mod.
  • There are also minor inconsistencies, such as Wolverine driving the Batmobile around and sounding like Bruce Wayne.

Batman: Arkham Knight has grown to become one of those nostalgic open-world gems that are still popular. The game continues to gain new players to this day, and mods have also kept it thriving. A new mod has dropped that fully changes how you’d play the title.

The modder Kalunn has published a new ambitious mod for Batman: Arkham Knight that lets you play as Wolverine in Gotham City. It adds a new moveset perfectly aligning with the character, provided you use a skin mod for immersion.

Why it matters: The new Batman: Arkham Knight mod gives us a great idea of how Marvel’s Wolverine entry could play out in an open-world setting, making fans anticipate Insomniac Games’ anticipated AAA entry even more.

Uploaded on Nexus Mods, the custom moveset includes all the jabs and grabs that fit with Wolverine’s mutant abilities. However, there are inconsistencies, like Wolverine enjoying Bruce Wayne’s wealth by driving the batmobile around or sounding like Batman.

Interacting with the sidekicks of Batman is also quite weird unless you use Deadpool suit variant mods for Nightwing and Red Hood.

Overall, the gameplay is a breath of fresh air that satisfies the Wolverine fantasies just fine, at least until Insomniac Games’ Wolverine launches. PlayStation is expected to reveal new footage of the game in the coming months.

Insomniac Games is likely to miss Marvel’s Wolverine 2025 release window.

After many fumbles, Rocksteady Games, the developer of Batman: Arkham Knight, is now also returning to developing a new Batman game. It is rumored to be a PlayStation-exclusive AAA trilogy based on Batman Beyond.

Do you think having Wolverine in Batman: Arkham Knight is a great inspiration for how Insomniac Games’ upcoming game could turn out? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Shroud’s Spectre Divide Is Shutting Down Just 5 Months After Launch

Story Highlight
  • Spectre Divide is officially shutting down just 5 months after it launched.
  • The game was developed by Mountaintop Studios and backed by streamer Shroud.
  • The studio is also shutting down because they’ve run out of funding.

Spectre Divide was launched as a competitor to other FPS games in the genre but with a unique twist. Fronted by popular streamer Shroud and developed by Mountaintop Studios, the game couldn’t take off as the company might’ve expected.

Now, just five months after its September launch, Spectre Divide and its developers, Mountaintop Studios, are officially shutting down within the next 30 days.

Why it matters: The game had an innovative idea and striking visuals that gave it a unique personality. Unfortunately, it just couldn’t click with the gamers, which has led to its shutting down soon.

Shroud’s Spectre Divide is shutting down after just a few months

Mountaintop Studios has released a statement revealing that Spectre Divide will shut down in the next 30 days. Two weeks ago, the launch of Season 1 couldn’t achieve the level of success that the studio had hoped for.

While the first week marked a decent number of 400,000 players with a peak of 10,000 daily, the player count has decreased significantly. Today, the game hit just over 300 concurrent players, showing a huge decline.

Spectre Divide Featured
Spectre Divide offered a unique and innovative gameplay

The studio says that the situation has made it impossible for them to continue working on the game, as they are now out of funding after the PC release. However, they say the entire journey was memorable, and they are thankful to the fans.

It isn’t clear what Shroud’s role in the entire development was. Based on Mountaintop’s statement, it seems that the game was just backed by the streamer and not necessarily his title. Nonetheless, it is sad to see the game shut down this quickly.

Xbox and Microsoft “Very Happy” with Obsidian RPG Reception, Says Avowed Director

Story Highlight
  • Avowed came out just last month.
  • When discussing the title’s reception, the game director stated that Xbox and Microsoft were very happy.
  • While the team has no number to give, they are happy with the title’s success.

Avowed has been one of the biggest releases of 2025 so far. The title was released last month with a decent 80 score on Metacritic. The title was already among the top-selling games on Steam even before its launch.

Soon after the game was launched, the developer stated that they were quite happy with its sales. Now, the Avowed director stated that Xbox and Microsoft are very happy with the reception of Obsidian latest RPG.

Why it matters: Avowed was in development for half a decade, so it’s great that the developers have received the reception they hoped for.

Avowed
Avowed Was Out Just Last Month

During a recent interview with Eurogamer, Avowed Director Carrie Patel was asked about the number of players who have played the game.

In response to the question, Carrie stated that while she doesn’t have a firm metric, the team and Microsoft have been very happy with the reception of their latest RPG.

I’ve certainly been very happy, and all the folks I’ve talked to, both at the studio level and at the Xbox and Microsoft level, have been very happy with the reception to our game.

-Carrie Patel

She further stated that since the game has been played through different platforms, as many players have purchased it while some have been playing it through Game Pass, she doesn’t have an exact metric or number to give.

Avowed
Avowed Saw Around 6 Million Players During Its First Month

Not too long ago, it was reported that Avowed had reportedly seen around 6 million players in the first month, beating titles like Indiana Jones, which saw only 4 million players during its first month. So, it’s safe to say that the title had a better launch than many huge titles.

While the developers are currently working on The Outer Worlds 2, it was recently reported that the studio wants to develop a Pillars of Eternity Tactics title. Therefore, we could expect great things from Obsidian in the coming years.

Nonetheless, have you played Avowed already? Did you like it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or join Tech4Gamers Forums

Price And Availability

GPURX 9070 XTRX 7900 XTXPrice Difference
Launch MSRP💲599💲99966.78%
Current Price💲1199💲12383.25%

From Intel to AMD to Nvidia, no one is safe from the GPU shortage price hikes. The RX 9070 XT, which is supposed to be a mid-range card, is being sold for more than double its MSRP, if you can find it at all in the first place. The RX 9070 XT is about 3.25% cheaper currently than the 7900 XTX.

What We Recommend

RX 9070 XT: We are thoroughly impressed with the performance of the RX 9070 XT, but the current state of the GPU still makes it not a good deal. Spending over a thousand for a 70-class card is not a wise spending decision. Still, the performance and MSRP of this card show promise.

RX 7900 XTX: In our comparison, even though the RX 7900 XTX performed slightly better in rasterized games, it got thorough when it comes to price-to-performance, when we look at just the MSRP. RT is also something that the RX 7900 XTX lacks that its successors make up for.

With the current state of the market, you could honestly go either way. We would still go with the RX 9070 XT because it is more recent and has better RT capabilities, but the RX 7900 XTX does have more VRAM. If the prices settle down close to the MSRP, then the RX 9070 is the clear victor of this comparison.

Why it matters: Following multiple lawsuits and internal turmoil, Ubisoft’s recovery seems more improbable day by day, and the publisher may never stand on its feet again, at least by itself.

Ubisoft
Ubisoft’s Share Declined By Over 30% In 2024

In a new report published by IGN, Juraj Krupa, CEO of shareholder AJ Investment, revealed that Ubisoft is “Horribly Mismanaged.”

Krupa also pointed out that Ubisoft was allegedly in discussion with Microsoft, EA, and other companies interested in acquiring some unknown IPs from the publisher.

Additionally, the previous partnered DLC with Saudi Investment Company for Assassin’s Creed Mirage is also seemingly confirmed, as it was allegedly hidden from the shareholders.

AJ Investments is now ready to sue the company for “misleading investors.”

The company is also desperate to recover from its past failures. Juraj Krupa now wants a clear publisher recovery plan to address the failures and setbacks Ubisoft has been encountering recently.

Assassin's Creed Shadows
Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Success Will Determine It’s Publisher’s Future

The same report also reveals that the delay in Assassin’s Creed Shadows caused a severe stock decline, severely hurting retail investors.

Following this lack of transparency, a few shareholders plan to protest outside the company’s headquarters in Paris.

From what it seems, whether or not Assassin’s Creed Shadows fails, the writing is on the wall, and Ubisoft will have to make a tough decision. Whether it’s potentially selling one of its IPs or going private, the French publisher has a tough road ahead.

AMD Reportedly Sold 2x As Many RX 9070 Cards As Nvidia’s RTX 5000 Lineup

Story Highlight
  • A survey shows that AMD has sold significantly more GPUs than Nvidia in 2025.
  • The Blackwell gaming GPUs were released much earlier than AMD’s RDNA 4 lineup but still fell behind.
  • As per the survey, AMD’s offerings accounted for over half of all sales, while Nvidia’s GPUs took less than 25% of the market share.

Both AMD and Nvidia have now launched next-generation graphics cards into the market. The latter was the first to do so, launching three GPUs since January, with the RTX 5090 being positioned as gaming’s most powerful GPU to date.

On the other hand, AMD decided to focus on more consumer-friendliness and attempted to counter the prevalent stock shortages. As per a survey, this approach has worked, with AMD shipping twice as many new GPUs as Nvidia this year.

Why it matters: This survey further highlights the gravity of Nvidia’s stock situation. Hardly anyone has been able to secure Blackwell gaming GPUs, let alone at MSRP.

Nvidia vs AMD GPU Sales In 2025
Nvidia vs AMD GPU Sales In 2025 | Image from ComputerBase Survey via 3DCenter

According to a survey from ComputerBase, over 700 people from 4,000+ participants have secured new Nvidia and AMD graphics cards this year.

The survey shows that more than 50% of the sales came from the RX 9070 and 9070 XT. Meanwhile, the RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 Ti accounted for under 25% of these 700+ GPU sales.

Around 20% of the remaining sales were taken up by older GPUs, but the findings do a good job of showcasing that AMD’s strategy, although not without its drawbacks, has been largely effective.

The most shocking part of this survey is that Nvidia’s Blackwell gaming graphics cards have been available since January 2025. On the other hand, AMD launched its RDNA 4 offerings last week, further highlighting the major divide in supply and availability.

Moving forward, Nvidia and AMD are expected to continue releasing more GPUs. The RTX 5060 Ti and 5060 will bring more affordable Blackwell options to the market, while the RX 9060 XT will likely do the same for RDNA 4.

However, it remains to be seen whether these GPUs will be available in abundance at their advertised MSRPs.
