NVIDIA RTX 5090 Ti Engineering Sample Leaks — Massive Performance, 750W & Limited Launch Expected

Story Highlight
  • Nvidia is developing an RTX 5090 Ti to surpass its current flagship, despite lacking direct competition from other manufacturers.
  • The new model may feature roughly 5% more CUDA cores than the standard 5090, using a modified GB202 chip.
  • Power requirements are expected to be massive, with estimates ranging from 700W to 750W, and some prototypes reportedly drawing even more.

For more than a year, the RTX 5090 has been the most powerful card. While it has no competition from AMD or Intel, NVIDIA isn’t satisfied with only this top-tier card; an even more powerful version is on the way. NVIDIA has now confirmed it is building an RTX 5090 Ti, with details on its possible performance, high power consumption, and release date revealed.

The Blackwell architecture of the RTX 50 series brought few changes or enhancements over the RTX 40 series, and the only new feature was Multi Frame Generation (MFG). Beyond that, we saw a performance boost that corresponded to increased power consumption; that is, we gained up to 30% more performance with the RTX 5090 at the cost of consuming 125W more than the RTX 4090.

A week ago, we learned that NVIDIA would not be satisfied with the RTX 5090 as the most powerful card and would instead release the RTX 5090 Ti in the second half of 2026. According to Moore’s Law Is Dead, Nvidia has been testing the RTX 5090 Ti, also known as the Blackwell Titan, since the first half of 2025.

If this is true, it means it has been part of the company’s plans from the beginning, and we now have a more precise estimate of its performance, power consumption, and even its expected release date. Regarding its features, it is stated that it would use a reduced GB202 chip, giving it 5% more CUDA Cores than the RTX 5090, meaning 17,152 or 17,216 CUDA Cores, which falls within that range.

In terms of power consumption, the next RTX 5090 Ti is a true beast, with speculations of a TDP of 700 to 750W, which is an additional 100-150W on top of the already powerful RTX 5090. The 750W figure would be the minimum, although there were unlocked prototypes that consumed more than 1000W.

RTX 5090 Is Only 20% Faster Than RTX 4090

While we don’t have actual photographs of the RTX 5090 Ti, someone who tried it last year stated that it was massive and required “both hands to hold it.” Just thinking about the air cooling system required to handle such high power usage gives you an idea. With its high power consumption and minor increase in core count, the RTX 5090 Ti could provide up to 10% more performance than the RTX 5090 at its basic TDP.

It may seem like a minor improvement for a graphics card with the Ti or TITAN name, but the final version is expected to outperform the RTX 5090 by 15-20%. We’ve previously seen that graphics cards like the Blackwell RTX 6000, despite having many more cores (24,064 CUDA cores), aren’t considerably faster in gaming than the RTX 5090, so this Ti or TITAN should lie somewhere in the middle or be somewhat faster in games due to its higher clock speed. It is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2026, or by the end of the current year.

Nioh 3 Becomes Fastest-Selling Game In The Series, Surpasses 1 Million Sales Shortly After Launch

Story Highlight
  • Nioh 3 has already sold over 1 million copies worldwide.
  • The sequel has pushed the Nioh franchise’s total sales to more than 10 million copies.
  • Furthermore, the game hasn’t launched on Xbox Series consoles yet, with a port set to release after 6 months due to Nioh 3’s PS5 exclusivity.

Team Ninja has further cemented its position as a true pioneer of action RPGs with Nioh 3. The third title in the franchise has been met with acclaim from critics and fans alikeearning a 94% approval rating on OpenCritic, with praise specifically for its mechanically dense action.

As it turns out, Nioh 3 isn’t doing too badly on the commercial front either, breaking the franchise record for concurrent players on Steam and now selling 1 million copies in just two weeks.

Why it matters: A gruelling, difficult action game like Nioh 3, inspired by titles like Lies of P, achieving this sort of commercial success in the current gaming environment is brilliant to see.

Publisher Koei Tecmo announced on X that Nioh 3 has already sold more than 1 million copies worldwide, making it the fastest-selling title in the series. Furthermore, the push from the sequel has also increased the Nioh IP’s total sales to more than 10 million copies worldwide.

To put Nioh 3’s performance into context, its predecessor took more than a year to sell 2 million copies, suggesting the 2026 title is on track to deliver a better commercial outcome.

Moreover, the action RPG has launched only on PS5 and PC so far, with an Xbox port set to release after 6 months due to Nioh 3’s console exclusivity. Hence, these numbers will only increase when the title lands on other platforms.

Nioh 3 is yet to launch on Xbox Series consoles.

Nioh 3 has also performed drastically better than Team Ninja’s previous title, Ninja Gaiden 4, which has not reached 1 million in sales 4 months after launch.

Do you think Nioh 3 deserves this success? Is it the best title in the series, or can Team Ninja improve even further with a sequel? Tell us in the comments below or head to the Tech4Gamers forum for discussion.

Square Enix Teasing New NieR Automata Content As The Game Celebrates 10 Million Units Sold

Story Highlight
  • NieR Automata has achieved a massive milestone, surpassing 10 million sales.
  • The publisher is also teasing new content or maybe even a sequel for the future.
  • Fans have been asking for a new NieR game for a very long time now.

NieR Automata was a surprise breakout hit. The first NieR game is considered a cult classic, but the 2017 release was the one that brought the franchise to the mainstream, earning both critical and massive commercial success.

Celebrating its 9th anniversary, NieR Automata has surpassed over 10 million units sold. However, the bigger news is that the publisher is also teasing new content, which will be very exciting for long-term fans.

Why it matters: Fans have long since demanded something new from the franchise for years. There have been rumors of a NieR Automata sequel in development as well, and this could finally be it.

Square Enix dropped a video to celebrate the 10 million sales milestone, and in the end, in a very Marvel-like fashion, it teases “NieR: Automata to be continued..” suggesting that something new could be coming our way.

We can only guess as to what it could be. As discussed above, a sequel has been rumored, but whether it will be called NieR Automata 2 is another question. It could also be a new expansion since the game only received 1 major DLC.

Square Enix is teasing new NieR: Automata content

Nonetheless, what the title has achieved is nothing short of commendable. It featured a deep-rooted story, great combat, and fun gameplay for the time, and the developers admitted that they never expected it to be this successful.

What do you think could be next for the NieR franchise? Are you a fan? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.

Bethesda Won’t Go All In With Generative AI, But Will Explore It As A Tool For Development

Story Highlight
  • Todd Howard says AI is just another tool in the arsenal that will help with development.
  • They won’t be using the tech to generate anything, as human touch is essential.
  • Multiple other studios have also titled it as just a tool that won’t replace people.

Generative AI has become a big part of the gaming industry. Whether most are ready to accept it or not, it does seem like the way forward. Many studios have shown intent on using it, but have ensured that they’ll practise caution.

Bethesda’s boss has stated that the studio will treat AI as just another tool and won’t be going all in with it for generating elements of a game. It will be treated like just any other thing, already being used in development.

Why it matters: Treating the tech like any other tool in the arsenal seems like the best way forward. The real problem arises when studios start to generate whole assets using AI, which attracts backlash.

Speaking at the Kinda Funny Games Podcast, Todd Howard went candid about the role of generative AI in game development. He says Bethesda is being incredibly cautious and seeing it as a tool, not a replacement.

We’re being incredibly cautious, and kind of viewing it as a tool to analyze the data in our games. We’re not using it to generate anything.

– Todd Howard

Howard further said that the idea of creativity, especially the human touch, can’t be replaced by AI or anything. It can help speed up operations and analyze data, but it  won’t be able to do what humans do.

Fallout, Elder Scrolls, And Starfield
The studio won’t use AI to generate anything with its titles

Recently, Sony made a very similar statement, where they also called AI just another tool. So, it seems that the mass adoption of the tech has begun, but if it’s used sensibly, it won’t be as bad as people make it out to be.

If the entire game’s assets are generated by AI, then this could be a problem. But, looking at statements from bigger names like Larian, Kojima, and others, it is just used as a tool by developers to expedite development

What are your thoughts on Bethesda calling generative AI just another tool? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.

PlayStation Has Shut Down 6 Studios During PS5 Generation So Far

Story Highlight
  • PlayStation recently shut down Bluepoint Games, bringing the total number of studios shuttered during this generation to six.
  • Previously, studios such as Japan Studio, PixelOpus, and more were shut down by Sony.
  • Of the studios PlayStation acquired over the last six years, a total of three are no longer operational.

PlayStation recently confirmed the closure of Bluepoint Games, the team behind one of the PS5’s most popular exclusive titles. To nobody’s surprise, reactions to this news have not been encouraging, and many have criticized Sony’s management.

In fact, a look back at Sony’s past decisions shows a slew of poor management decisions. The gaming giant purchased as many as 10 studios to strengthen its first-party offerings this generation, but barely any of these studios have produced substantial results.

Making matters worse, a total of 6 first-party teams were shut down during this generation.

Why it matters: PlayStation spent billions of dollars on acquisitions only to reap no real reward. It also let go of many legacy studios over the last five to six years.

PlayStation Live Service Games
Herman Hulst Has Shut Down Bluepoint Games.

PlayStation shut down the following studios in the last five to six years:

  • Bluepoint Games – Closed in 2026
  • Firewalk Studios – Closed in 2024
  • Neon Koi – Closed in 2024
  • Japan Studio – Closed in 2021
  • PixelOpus – Closed in 2023
  • London Studio – Closed in 2024

Many of these closures were disheartening for fans, particularly because they were linked to PlayStation’s legacy. For instance, Japan Studio worked on titles as old as the original Demon’s Souls.

Similarly, London Studio helped bring a classic like The Getaway: Black Monday to life. Interestingly, PlayStation purchased a total of 10 studios for this generation, and none proved worth it. The following is the list of acquired studios:

  • Insomniac Games
  • Bluepoint Games
  • Nixxess Software
  • Housemarque
  • Firesprite
  • Firewalk
  • Bungie
  • Haven Studios
  • Neon Koi
  • Valkyrie Entertainment

Of the 10 acquired studios, Firewalk Studios, Neon Koi, and Bluepoint Games are now shut down. However, even among the surviving teams, hardly any results have come up.

Haven Studios is currently working on Fairgame$ and has yet to actually release a project for PlayStation. The same goes for Valkyrie Entertainment, which Sony claimed would bring experience from various genres to the PlayStation family.

Even Firesprite’s portfolio is quite unimpressive, with the team having released just Horizon: Call of the Wild since Sony’s purchase. Firesprite is currently said to be working on a horror game, but nothing has come of this project yet. Past rumors also suggested that the team was working on a Twisted Metal title that was later cancelled.

Elsewhere, Bungie has been through a troubled period over the last few years due to Destiny 2’s dwindling popularity. Ahead of Marathon, hopes are high for the studio’s return to form, but PlayStation has not been too happy with the studio so far.

As such, this leaves Insomniac Games, Housemarque, and Nixxess Software as the only real stars of Sony’s buyouts.

PlayStation
The Live-Service Push Has Done Major Harm To Sony’s Teams

In fact, one could argue that Insomniac Games is PlayStation’s biggest asset as far as first-party teams go. Nixxess Software has also done a solid job with PC ports, and Housemarque is gearing up to launch Saros later this year.

Aside from studio closures, many teams at PlayStation have recently faced layoffs. However, when the situation is looked at, things are not in the best state for the gaming giant’s internal teams. In fact, the latest round of studio closures has raised questions about the future of studios like Bend, which have also yet to release a new game in over 5 years.

PlayStation Boss Blames Bluepoint Closure On The Challenging Industry

Story Highlight
  • PlayStation boss Hermen Hulst blamed Bluepoint’s closure on the overall economic condition of the gaming industry.
  • The Joint Sony CEO admitted that profits have increased, but the company has to adapt.
  • Moreover, Hulst assured fans that PlayStation is heading in the right direction and will continue to deliver exceptional content.

The PS5 generation has seen a series of horrible missteps from Sony. From its emphasis on live-service titles to the lack of single-player exclusives, the Japanese giant has failed to hit the mark on many occasions. The closure of Bluepoint Games yesterday was another entry in this miserable record.

Fans have been taken aback by the sudden shutdown of the developer and raised questions about Sony’s current direction. If you ask PlayStation boss Hermen Hulst, however, he is very confident in the brand’s future and the ongoing path it’s taking.

Why It Matters: PlayStation is suffering from misplaced priorities, as Sony could have poured the billions it spent on live-service failures to keep talented developers like Bluepoint afloat.

Bluepoint Demon's Souls PS5
Bluepoint Games developed the Demon’s Souls remake for PS5.

In a staff email obtained by Kotaku, Hermen Hulst revealed that Bluepoint’s closure is due to the industry’s challenging environment. The PlayStation Studios president admitted that the company had a magnificent Q3, but due to broader economic conditions and slow industry growth, the studio had to be shut down.

We’re operating in an increasingly challenging industry environment. Rising development costs, slowed industry growth, changing player behavior, and broader economic headwinds are making it harder to build games sustainably. As a result, we will be closing Bluepoint Games in March.

Hulst, who is also the joint CEO of Sony, went on to say that the gaming giant has to adapt in the current environment, as even rising profits aren’t enough to counteract the bloated budgets and other economic caveats of the industry that are making game development increasingly unsustainable.

In addition, the PlayStation boss assured fans that he is confident in the current direction the company is heading in, stating that building unforgettable experiences is still at the core of PlayStation Studios.

god of war multiplayer
Bluepoint spent years developing the canned God of War live-service game.

Regardless, considering how the Sony leadership wasted Bluepoint’s talent by making them work on a now-canceled God of War multiplayer title for years, that statement won’t be easily accepted.

Sudokoo SK620V White Review: Stylish, Silent, And Surprisingly Powerful

Sudokoo is a new player in town; launched in 2025 or so but they are already making waves with their elegant design products. They went full bloom during CES 2026 and we have got an opportunity to test its SK620V white CPU air cooler.

This cooler is based on closed design which many brands have attempted but only a few have came out successful. This cooler is available in black color as well. It is also available in non-V edition. The non-V does not have a display screen.

Salient features include the large size display screen showing the sensors readouts in real time. The rail design for the fans is an excellent option which is way better than the Corsair A115. The encapsulated design is perfected in this cooler in my opinion particularly the no wire connection on the middle fan is where Sudokoo has nailed it. Too good! This cooler comes with 2x 120mm fans. In addition, it is a dual tower design featuring shark tooth fin design on the front and middle and fin array matrix on the rear.

What Makes The Sudokoo SK620V White Different?

Sudokoo has provided one heck of a brilliance when it comes to SK620 series coolers particularly the SK620V. This cooler nail the visual presentation providing excellent coverage of key areas be it a fan mounting using a glide system or wireless connection for the middle fan. Even the software control is streamlined. If you are on AMD system, this cooler deserves your full attention but keep the wallet healthy as well.

Packing And Unboxing

The packing box has white and orange color accents giving a pleasant feeling for the product. The following are provided:

  • AMD AM5 Bracket
  • 1x Long neck Screwdriver
  • 1x Allen Key
  • 1x Thermal Paste Pack
  • 1x Applicator
  • 1x 2-way PWM Splitter Cable
  • 8x Screws for AM5 Bracket
  • 1x User Guide
  • 1x Information and Support Document

Sudokoo has sent a standard mounting kit as well, which includes:

  • 1x Intel Backplate
  • 2x Intel Mounting Brackets
  • 4x Intel Standoff Screws
  • 4x Nuts
  • 2x AMD AM4/AM5 Mounting Brackets
  • 4x AMD Screws

Design

Let’s take a look at the unit.

Heatsink

The cooler itself presents a bold, stylish, and elegant look that would bode well with any white theme build. The net weight of the cooler is 1645gm which is quite high compared to other 120mm sized coolers. The cooler has a dimension of 145x144x164mm (LxWxH) whereas the heatsink has a dimension of 125x115x153mm (LxWxH).

Looking at the front of the cooler, you can see a pre-installed 120mm fan. This fan does not clips rather a rail mount system is designed for a convenient handling. Fan can be adjusted for its height and it can be removed easily.

The front fan has 7 blades and it features a closed design in square form to prevent air leakage. It features 3-phase, 4-pole, 6-slot FOC closed-loop control fan motor for efficient operations. You can see two rails or clips installed on the backside making it quite a convenient handling.

I have remove the fan and showing the front of the tower. It has shark tooth or triangular fin design that aids in reducing the air drag while boosting the airflow. The front tower features a step design with 39 fins on the main area and 13 fins in the lower area providing a good clearance towards the DIMM slots.

The backside of the second tower has a fin array design. This tower has 52 aluminum fins. These fins are white color spray coated.

Looking at the side of the cooler, you can see a plastic housing that has perforations for proper air ventilation providing some sort of air intake for the middle fan. The closed design helps in a focused flow throughout the cooler. The cooler has two spring-loaded screws on the cross-bar or mounting plate.

The top of the cooler has a magic to it. It has a large size display area which shows sensor readings in real time providing critical data to the user. This is a quad segment display much like what I saw on the DeepCool’s latest AK620 and AK700 coolers. You would need a spare USB 2.0 9-pin header on your motherboard for this purpose. Rest of the job is done by the software called Master Craft.

The cool thing about mid-section is that the complete top cover is removed since it is attached to the middle fan’s frame. It also uses rail mount system. Sudokoo has clearly marked the left and right sides providing visual clues to the user to align the fan clips.

This cooler features pogo pin contact method in which the middle fan connects to the contact pin for the connection. This eliminates the cable connection on the fan.

The backside of the front tower and the front side of the second tower features same fin design.

The middle fan is same as the front fan. It uses contact pins for power connection. It also features a rail mount system. The fans are rated for 2000 RPM generating a mediocre airflow of 56.46 CFM using air pressure of 2.93 mmAq. These fans feature Fluid Dynamic Bearings.

A plastic cover is over the mounting plate. The mounting plate is removable since it is attached via Philips screw.

The cooler packs 6 copper heat pipes each having a 6mm thickness.

The cooler has a nickel-plated copper base with a mirror finish to it.

Installation

Since Sudokoo sent us the standard mounting kit which is same as on the DeepCool coolers, I have tested the cooler on Intel platform.

The installation steps are:

  • Place the backplate on the backside of the motherboard.
  • Use the LGA1700/1851 screws to secure the backplate.
  • Install the Intel mounting brackets using thumb nuts.
  • Remove the middle fan from the heatsink.
  • Remove the protective cover from the base of the cooler.
  • Place the cooler on the CPU by aligning the spring-loaded screws with the standoffs on mounting bracket.
  • Tighten the screws to install the heatsink.
  • Install the middle fan.
  • Connect the cables.
  • Installation is completed.

Clearance

The heatsink itself provides a comprehensive clearance. The fan on standard position provides a clearance of up to 46mm or so which is quite good. You can adjust the height of the fan if needs be but that would come at the cost of overall height increase.

There is no PCIe slot clearance issue over the ASRock Z890 NOVA WiFi motherboard.

The heatsink is not obstructed by the large size cover on the rear of the motherboard.

You would need a PC Case with a minimum 168mm of CPU cooler’s height clearance.

Software Control

Sudokoo has provided a simple software for monitoring control. It is called Master Craft. You can download it from Sudokoo website. Software has three pages with two pages showing the sensors of the major components and the summary of hardware.

The cooler has a way of reporting issue to the user where the red color temperature indicator on the screen starts flashing if temperature crosses 90°C. Surprisingly, FAN IO did not list the fan headers being used for the cooler’s fans. This was not the case when I tested the cooler on AMD platform.

The picture shows the large size screen display showing CPU frequency, load, temperature, and power.

Testing

I have used below mentioned configuration: –

Here is the settings table for testing:

Clock (MHz) Auto
Voltage (V) Auto
Power Profile Power Limits Removed
Thermal Paste Noctua NT-H2
Thermal Paste Application Center Line
Test Run Time 30 minutes
Idling Time 10 minutes
All Fans Speed 100% PWM Duty Cycle
Pump Speed [Where Applicable]
Stress Software CINEBENCH R23.2
Monitoring Software HWINFO64

Result

Sudokoo SK620V white has a decent performance on Intel platform. But this cooler makes a strong case on AMD platform where it did 89.6°C on 9900X at 243W all-cores stress load which is quite good. It even ranked high in 200W all-cores stress load on 9900X where it did 77.1°C.

Another strong point of this cooler is its overall noise level at fans’ full speed. I recorded 40 dB(A) which is even lower than the Noctua NH-D15 G2 cooler. This is too good and it also tells me that Sudokoo can compromise a bit on the sound to deliver better thermal performance.

Should You Buy It?

Buy It If

You want a good all round cooling: The Sudokoo SK620V offers a good thermal and acoustic performance out of the box.

You are after something refreshing for the visuals: The outstanding design of the cooler using rail guide/slide fan guide and closed design makes this cooler shines.

You want a visual aid: This cooler features a display screen over the top providing a real time critical data from your CPU along with a warning aid.

You need AMD Contact Frame: This cooler comes with a full length AMD bracket made of a single aluminum piece that replaces the ILM of the AMD socket and the AMD stock mounting brackets.

You are looking for an air cooler for excellent RAM clearance: This cooler provides excellent RAM clearance and fan’s height adjustment as well.

Don’t Buy It If

You’re on a budget: A steep charge of USD 119.99 might make you look for a liquid cooler in this price.

Conclusion

I have tested Sudokoo SK620V white which is a new cooler from the manufacturer. This cooler is a dual tower design that comes with two silent 120mm fans. The cooler has a dimension of 145x144x164mm with a net weight of 1645gm.

The SK620 is particularly designed for AM5 platform which a full length contact frame/bracket is provided hence brand’s stance is that it is compatible with AM5. However, they also provide a standard mounting kit that enable this cooler to be compatible with other sockets.

The dual towers comprise 52 fins with the front tower using offset design to provide extra clearance for the DIMM slots. The fins have shark tooth or triangular design on front and back with the exception of the backside of the second tower that has fin array design.

The cooler packs 6 copper heatpipes and assembly seems soldered. The copper base is nickel-plated and has a semi mirror finish. The cross-bar has two spring-loaded screws.

The 120mm fans use FDB bearings and they are rated for up to 2000 RPM speed. However, I have found their 56.46 CFM airflow value to be mediocre.  Sudokoo has focused more on providing a silent cooling. Given how silent these fans are (they infact beat Noctua!), there is a room for more thermal performance improvement.

This cooler uses fan glide system for a convenient fan handling unlike the fan clips design on majority of the coolers. This cooler features a large size display screen over the top showing the segmented display of your CPU’s critical parameters. You need a USB 2.0 header to make this screen work.

Installation of this cooler is convenient and I did not observe any issue in that. This cooler has a steep price of USD 119.99. Sudokoo offers a 5-year warranty showing their confidence in the design.

Sony Is Closing Bluepoint Games, The Studio Behind Demon’s Souls Remake

Story Highlight
  • A new report reveals Sony is officially shutting down Bluepoint Games with 70 layoffs.
  • The studio was acquired by the company after a successful Demon’s Souls remake.
  • It was Sony’s long-term collaborator helping with multiple remakes and remasters.

Bluepoint Games was a long-term collaborator of Sony until they acquired the studio in 2021, after a successful Demon’s Souls Remake, and it officially became a first-party team. However, 5 years later, things have taken a turn for the worse.

A new report has revealed that Sony is officially closing Bluepoint Games, and it will lead to about 70 people losing their jobs. The company claims that the tough decision was made after a recent business review.

Why it matters: Bluepoint was mainly involved with modern remakes and remasters, and also assisted in the development of God of War: Ragnarok. This is a rather unfortunate move considering how well Sony is doing.

Bluepoint Shutdown
Bluepoint Games is officially shutting down, leading to 70 layoffs

Notably, the studio hasn’t been involved in PlayStation games too much since Ragnarok. Yes, the number of exclusives was reduced, but still, it seems like it was all building up towards an eventual shutdown

Bluepoint has had a rich and successful history with PlayStation, with remastering/remaking titles like Demon’s Souls, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, God of War Collection, and more.

Demon's Souls
The studio was acquired after a successful remake of Demon’s Souls on PS5

Many even anticipated that the God of War Trilogy Remake might be handed to them. However, it doesn’t seem that the studio was in Sony’s plans, and many even claim that the company ruined the studio’s potential

Splinter Cell Remake Studio Faces Layoffs a Few Months After Director’s Departure

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft Toronto has now been hit with layoffs.
  • This comes a few months after Splinter Cell remake lost its key director.
  • The publisher will cut more staff in the upcoming months to cut fixed costs by nearly €200 million.

Ubisoft has begun significantly downsizing as a cost-cutting measure over the next few years, following losses in recent years, mainly due to nearly 25 games being cancelled over 8 years.

Now, layoffs at the publisher continue. The latest studio to suffer is Ubisoft Toronto, the studio behind the upcoming Splinter Cell remake.

Why it matters: Ubisoft continues to lose talent, and what’s left is only a skeleton of what the publisher used to be.

ubisoft layoffs
Employees Are Now Calling Out CEO Yves Guillemot, Asking Him To Resign

The studio has now lost nearly 8% of its staff, accounting for 40 of the total 500 employees. This decision comes shortly after the publisher’s creative reset, which led to the formation of new creative houses, with each IP then assigned to a specific one.

One spokesperson from the publisher told this to MobileSyrup:

This decision was not taken lightly and does not in any way reflect the talent, dedication, or contributions of the individuals affected.

This comes a few months after we discovered that the Splinter Cell remake had lost its key director, which isn’t a great sign considering the game is in its late stages of development. Unfortunately, we’ve yet to get another look at the title, despite the announcement being made nearly half a decade ago.

The Remake Is Now Expected For The Next Fiscal Year As Ubisoft Delayed 7 Of Their Upcoming Games To Further Polish Them

That said, Ubisoft did confirm that development on the remake is continuing, and we could possibly hear more about the game this year.

Ubisoft Toronto previously handled the Far Cry and Watch Dogs games notably. However, Far Cry is now under the subsidiary Vantage Studios, formed alongside Tencent. As for the Watch Dogs games, we understand that the IP is temporarily put on hold following the poor reception of 2020’s Legion.

Overall, Ubisoft’s new restructure announced at the start of the year aims to cut more than 2000 jobs. Furthermore, the publisher also aims to cut fixed costs by nearly €200 million over the next couple of years.

  • Gaming videos are played and shared across PCs, consoles, and phones, but files often fail to work on every device.
  • Most players use conversion tools for basic quality-of-life needs, like shrinking files for Discord.
  • A single game session is frequently turned into multiple formats, including social clips, YouTube videos, and audio memes for soundboards.

Gaming isn’t just about playing anymore. It’s clips, streams, tutorials, podcasts, replays, Discord shares, and content flying between phones, consoles, PCs, tablets, and handhelds. If you’re part of gaming culture online, you already know how messy that can get. One device plays the file fine, another refuses to open it, and suddenly you’re stuck Googling formats instead of gaming.

That’s where video conversion tools quietly become part of the gaming lifestyle, even if most players don’t think about them directly.

Gaming Content Lives Everywhere Now

A single gaming session can turn into five different types of content. A Twitch clip for socials. A highlight reel for YouTube. Audio pulled for a podcast. A tutorial clip for Discord. A replay saved for later edits. None of that happens on one device or in one format.

And honestly, gaming setups aren’t simple anymore. You’ve got your main PC or console, your phone for socials, maybe a laptop for editing, a tablet for watching content in bed, and cloud storage bouncing files between all of them. Formats that work on one platform don’t always behave on another. That friction adds up fast.

This is why conversion tools matter for gamers. Not as some technical feature list, but as a quality-of-life thing that keeps content moving instead of blocking it.

Why Gamers Actually Use Conversion Tools

Most players aren’t converting files for “professional workflows.” They’re doing simple stuff:

  • Pulling audio from a match clip for a meme
  • Turning gameplay into podcast content
  • Making clips easier to upload to socials
  • Saving storage space on mobile
  • Sharing files in Discord without format errors

Even something like an mp4 to wav converter becomes useful when you’re pulling clean voice audio from gameplay for edits, podcasts, or community content without dragging the whole video file around. It’s not about tech. It’s about speed and convenience.

Multi-Device Gaming Is The New Normal

Gaming Pc
Modern gaming involves recording on one machine and editing or uploading on another, making cross-device compatibility essential.

The average gamer doesn’t stay on one screen anymore. You might record on PC, edit on laptop, upload from your phone, and watch it back on a console app. That’s just normal now.

So accessibility isn’t about “devices” in a corporate sense. It’s about being able to move your content wherever your gaming life already exists. If your clips only work on one platform, they’re basically locked away.

Good conversion tools remove that friction. You stop thinking about formats and start thinking about content again.

A lot of articles make this sound like it’s for streamers, editors, or studios. That’s not real life gaming culture.

Casual players clip their wins. Friends share funny moments. Small creators post highlights. Communities remix content. Group chats are full of short clips and audio memes. Conversion tools support all of that without people even realizing it.

It’s just how gaming content moves now.

Where It Actually Helps The Most

From a gamer’s perspective, the real value shows up in simple situations:

  • Faster sharing
  • Smaller file sizes
  • Fewer playback errors
  • Easier uploads
  • Cleaner edits
  • Better cross-device support

Nobody cares about specs or settings. They care about whether the clip works on their phone and uploads without crashing.

Video conversion software isn’t exciting. It’s not flashy. It’s not something gamers hype. But it’s one of those background tools that quietly keeps gaming content flowing.

Without it, everything slows down. Sharing becomes annoying. Editing becomes harder. Cross-device content becomes frustrating. With it, things just work.

And in gaming, that’s what matters most. Less issues. More play. More sharing. More content moving between platforms without headaches.

Multi-device accessibility isn’t some big future concept. It’s already happening. Gaming lives across devices now. Conversion tools just make that reality smoother, cleaner, and less annoying for everyone who creates, clips, shares, or watches gaming content every day.

How Resident Evil Continues To Evolve After Over Two Decades

Story Highlight
  • Resident Evil set a new benchmark for survival horror games in 1996 and has continued to evolve since then.
  • Over the years, the franchise has shifted from horror to action gameplay, and the latest entry seeks to merge these approaches.
  • Resident Evil Requiem also brings back Leon Kennedy and third-person gameplay.

Resident Evil is set to conquer the survival horror genre yet again with the release of Requiem. Thanks to its tense atmosphere and tight gameplay, the series has remained relevant since its inception three decades ago.

Ahead of Resident Evil Requiem’s release, it’s interesting to reflect on the IP and everything it has accomplished since its launch.

Why it matters: Resident Evil practically laid the groundwork for the modern survival horror game. Although many games have attempted to mimic its success, none have come quite as far.

An Evolving Legacy

Resident Evil is constant in the fact that it keeps changing and evolving. What began with claustrophobic, deliberately paced corridor-like levels paved the way for more action-oriented gameplay.

Resident Evil 7 then completely changed everything once again with a switch to first-person gameplay and a focus on horror at its core. Capcom’s latest entry now seeks to offer a culmination of these two gameplay styles.

Resident Evil Requiem is full of horror, but it also offers plenty of action. The game even allows for seamless switching between first and third-person.

Return To Raccoon City

As mentioned earlier, Resident Evil Requiem combines the horror and action roots of the series. This is done through Grace Ashcroft and Leon Kennedy, both protagonists, offering a unique style of gameplay that fans will be immediately familiar with.

Like past games, Leon’s gameplay will borrow from the action-heavy elements of the series. Similarly, Grace Ashcroft’s segments will make for some bone-chilling horror thrills.

The Resident Evil 9 Steam key sales only prove that fans have embraced this new direction, creating excitement for the launch.

Evolving Without Losing Identity

Of course, like any classic series, Resident Evil has retained a strong identity over the years. Resident Evil Requiem is no different, and Capcom has taken care to ensure it leans into the IP’s strong legacy.

For instance, the RE Engine is set to return once again to power the latest entry. Zombies also remain a core theme, with the developer promising intelligent AI and unpredictable behavior.

Also, as noted earlier, the first and third-person gameplay perspectives make for interesting gameplay possibilities.

Ultimately, the series has evolved considerably since day one. This is why Resident Evil Requiem is shaping up to be a must-play title for 2026, and for those looking to jump in at release, Steam keys can be quite convenient.

For the best deals, digital marketplaces like Eneba have become a go-to option since they offer clear information regarding pricing, region locks, platform compatibility, and more. Such platforms also offer Steam gift cards, which are great for topping up accounts when picking up a new release.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Is Based On Classic Style Of Bethesda Games Like Skyrim And Fallout, Says Todd Howard

Story Highlight
  • Recent Bethesda games like Starfield were criticized for giving up on the classic formula.
  • Todd Howard has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 does follow Skyrim and Fallout’s style.
  • He says they acknowledge the issues and are rectifying them for TES 6.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced 7 years ago at this point. Since then, Bethesda has released multiple titles that gave up on the formula it used for its classic games, in favor of something new, which hasn’t sat well with the fans.

Amid fears that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be the same, Bethesda’s boss has confirmed that the title is based on the classic style of the studio’s hits like Skyrim and older Fallout games, which they know really well.

Why it matters: Recent Bethesda games, especially Starfield, weren’t received too well. They gave up on the usual formula and, in trying to do something new, lost their identity, making fans lose interest.

There is a lot of skepticism around The Elder Scrolls 6, considering Bethesda hasn’t had the best of reputations lately. Todd Howard says they took a bit of a creative detour, but that won’t be happening now.

In many ways, Fallout 76 and Starfield are a little bit of a creative detour. We are coming back to that classic style that we’ve missed [For TES6], that we know really, really well.

Instead, the next installment in their flagship franchise is sticking to its roots, opting for the classic Bethesda formula. This is promising news, because if it’s anywhere as good as Skyrim, it’ll be a huge win for the fans.

Howard also shared that Elder Scrolls 6 has achieved a big milestone and is now in a playable state. However, he also reiterated that it could still be many years away before we see the final game launch.
