Wooting Announces 60HE v2 Analog Keyboard, Launching Q4 2025

[Press Release] Wooting is bringing back analog precision with the upcoming 60HE v2, set to launch in Q4 2025. Building on the success of the original 60HE, the new version pushes performance even further with True 8K Polling, reducing input latency to just 0.125ms.

The new Lekker Tikken switch is at the core of this keyboard. It features a closed-bottom design, a 4.0mm analog range, and a marbly sound that sets it apart from traditional switches.

The updated case is made from premium aluminum and has a friction-fit mounting system that improves internal stability and reduces vibration while simplifying the structure by eliminating screws. Users can also choose a classic or split spacebar layout to match their playstyle.

The sound and feel of the 60HE v2 have been carefully tuned. A PET film layer, Poron sandwich pad, and FR4 switch plate combine to produce a deep, refined typing experience. The bottom case can be customized with different dampening materials like silicone or EPDM foam, or left empty for a louder profile.

AMD Unveils RX 9060 XT; Launches 5 June

Story Highlight
  • AMD has just recently unveiled the RX 9060 in a detailed presentation.
  • The tech giant revealed that this card is 6% faster than the RTX 5060 Ti.
  • There will be two variants, one will have 8 GB VRAM and the other will have 16 GB; both will release on 5 June.

AMD has been gaining traction in the tech market for a while now. This gaming giant has already far surpassed Intel when it comes to CPUs, so there is just no comparison anymore. However, when it comes to GPUs, Nvidia seems to be dominating in some instances.

AMD is famous for its budget-friendly yet high-end graphics cards, and has unveiled another one. RX 9060 XT has just been officially revealed with two variants and will be released on 5 June

Why it matters: The Radeon 9060 series was confirmed at CES 2025 when AMD introduced RDNA 4. This series was meant to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Nvidia’s launched 5060 series

9060 Specs
Latest AMD’s RX 9060 XT Specs

Radeon has finally announced the launch date of its highly anticipated product, RX 9060 XT. It comes in two variants and will launch on 5 June. Do note that this GPU features a minor chip than the 9070, which was to be expected, of course. The chip features 2048 cores, 64 AI accelerators, 32 RT accelerators, 3.13 GHz, and 32 complete Units.

As mentioned above, it features a 3.13 GHz boost clock. This makes it the first ever GPU to have such a high frequency in this instance. Regarding the two variants, one will feature 8 GB of VRAM and the other will feature 16 GB

The 8 GB one will cost $299, while the 16GB one will be $349. The pricing here seems pretty reasonable, especially if you compare it with its rivals.

9060 vs 5060 ti
AMD’s newly unveiled card is 6% faster than Nvidia’s 5060 TI

Nvidia received a lot of backlash for still making a variant that has 8 GB VRAM for the 5060 series. This is because the fandom doesn’t think that the 8 GB VRAM is still viable in 2025. So, many were expecting Radeon to skip this variant but as you can see that didn’t happen.

Also, the RX 9060 XT 16 GB offers better performance than the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB. The former is 6% faster making it a more viable option in the budget friendly market. The presentation also revealed that it offers 15% gaming performance per dollar average across 40 games compared to the said card.

What do you think about this newly unveiled card from AMD? Do you think it is a better option than Nvidia’s 5060 series? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion

Doom: The Dark Ages Reaches 3 Million Players; Biggest Launch In Franchise History

Story Highlight
  • Doom: The Dark Ages has achieved the 3 million player benchmark in under a week.
  • The game achieved this player count 7x faster than Doom Eternal.
  • This success should pave the way for more Doom games after the reboot trilogy.

Doom: The Dark Ages has been just as much of a critical success as its predecessors, but the game’s commercial success raised eyebrows recently. id Software’s latest release failed to make much of an impact on Steam, leading to questions about its success.

The developer also remained silent, creating further concern, but this silence has just been broken. As per the studio’s latest update, Doom: The Dark Ages has ripped and torn its way to 3 million players.

Why it matters: Because of the game’s low Steam player counts, many were concerned that Doom had begun to lose its popularity despite the solid gameplay.

Doom Is Still Wildly Popular All These Years Later

As per Bethesda’s X account, Doom: The Dark Ages is the series’ biggest launch to date. In fact, the game is now the biggest launch from id Software. This is a very impressive feat considering the history and legacy of the studio.

Doom: The Dark Ages has also reached the 3 million player milestone 7x faster than its predecessor. This is yet another impressive feat since Doom Eternal remains one of the genre’s finest titles to date.

It should be noted that id Software’s latest release makes the studio’s first day-one Game Pass launch. As such, the subscription service likely played a major role in propelling the title to 3 million players within a week.

id Software Still Expects More Doom Titles In The Future

Following this success, the Doom Slayer’s future should be safe for the next few years. Although rumors have suggested that id Software will pivot to Quake after this release, another Doom entry is more or less guaranteed.

What are your thoughts on the milestone? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel “Project Orion” May Feature Chicago As Its Location, Teases Mike Pondsmith

Story Highlight
  • Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is currently in development.
  • Mike Pondsmith has recently confirmed that there will be a new city in the title.
  • He further confirms that Night City is likely to return as well.

While the CPDR is currently focused on developing The Witcher 4, which is most likely in its final stages, the developers are also working on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.

The sequel is currently named Project Orion and is being developed by 12% of the CPDR workforce. While not much has been revealed about the title, a recent leak suggests a new city in the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel.

Why it matters: Though many speculated that Night City would not return in the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, it has also been confirmed to be part of the title.

During a recent live broadcast on the TVGry channel, Mike Pondsmith discussed his involvement in the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel and the cities players will explore in the title.

There’s another city we visit – Night City is still there. I remember looking at it and thinking, “yeah, I get the vibe you’re going for and it works; it doesn’t feel like Blade Runner, it’s more like Chicago gone wrong.

-Mike Pondsmith

Although he doesn’t reveal much about the city, it appears to be giving Chicago vibes. He further confirms that Night City will still be there, which means players will have a much bigger place to explore in the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel.

Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Is Still Many Years Away

Not too long ago, a recent job listing also suggested that the title would offer the most realistic NPC crowds. All this recent information makes Cyberpunk 2077 one of the most anticipated titles, and CDPR has set the expectations high once again.

Since the title is still many years away from its release, and many changes could be made before its launch, it’s best not to get too excited.

Nonetheless, do you think the sequel of Cyberpunk 2077 wil be a more successful launch for CDPR than the base game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, or join the Tech4Gamers forum.

Geralt’s Voice Actor Says If You Call The Witcher 4 Woke Then ‘Read The Damn Books’

Story Highlight
  • Doug Cockle says you can’t always have Geralt around for eternity.
  • He says Ciri was a cool character from the game and deserves to be explored.
  • If people think The Witcher 4 has gone woke, they should read the books.

The Witcher 4 was first revealed in December 2024 at the Game Awards. While most people were caught by pleasant surprise, some weren’t and are still not happy with the choice of protagonist that the fourth entry has opted for.

However, Geralt’s voice actor has defended the choice and says Ciri is a very interesting character. For people who think The Witcher 4 has gone woke, ‘Read the damn books’.

Why it matters: Yes, Ciri is trained by the witchers, but she never technically turned into a complete Witcher because she never underwent the mutations through the Trial of the Grasses; therefore, fans are angry at the choice.

Talking to Fall Damage, Geralt actor Doug Cockle talked about Ciri as the protagonist of the upcoming Witcher game. He said you can’t just have Geralt for every single game through eternity, and Ciri is a very cool character from the games.

If you think it’s woke, read the damn books – they’re good, first of all. And secondly, you won’t think it’s so woke anymore.

– Doug Cockle

The Witcher 4
Fans criticized The Witcher 4 for making Ciri the protagonist.

Cockle says we saw the end of Geralt’s journey in Blood and Wine, where he finally settles down in Toussant. This is true, considering it was a very peaceful conclusion to the Witcher’s adventurous journey over the three games.

However, despite Ciri taking the reins, this isn’t the end of Geralt, as it is confirmed he’ll still play a part in The Witcher 4. Nonetheless, this marks his conclusion as the protagonist and the beginning of a new era for the franchise.

What are your thoughts on the Geralt actor calling out people for calling The Witcher 4 woke? Let us know your opinion in the comments or join the discussion at the Tech4Gamers forum.

Gamers Prefer Playing Most of Their Games On PlayStation, Concludes Major Poll

Story Highlight
  • Summer Game Fest on Twitter posted a poll asking gamers about their preferred platform to play games on.
  • Most of them chose PlayStation and PC as their preferred platforms.
  • A very small number of gamers chose Nintendo and Xbox.

There has always been an argument about which gaming platform reigns supreme. PC has proven to be the most popular and liked platform, but fans are still not sure which one gamers prefer to play their games on.

A major poll recently concluded that gamers prefer playing their games on a PlayStation, which doesn’t seem surprising given that games are well-optimized for consoles and that PlayStation fans are massive.

Why it matters: PlayStation 5 has some of the best exclusives, and many more compelling ones will be released this year, which gives it an upper hand over other platforms.

PlayStation Preferred Platform
The majority of the fandom chose PlayStation as their preferred platform for games | Source: Twitter

Summer Game Fest, a really popular gaming event, recently conducted a Twitter poll asking its followers where they play most of their games. The poll has reached almost 27k votes; among them, 41.5% have voted for PlayStation, which isn’t surprising.

37.3% of the gamers voted for PC, 14.8% chose Xbox, and only 6.3% went for Nintendo Switch, which is surprising given how popular this platform is. In many instances, the fandom has chosen the PC platform to be the best one, but this poll doesn’t really discuss which one is superior.

Steam has many players, so the PC gamers may be way more than all the consoles’ players combined. However, this poll isn’t about that; it asks the fandom which platform they prefer to play games on.

Bloodborne New Featured
PS has some of the best exclusives.

As PlayStation still has some exclusives, the fandom may prefer playing them instead of using an emulator on the PC. Eventually, when all of the exclusives from the PlayStation are released on the PC, it would be good to see the results from such polls again.

Some fans were even surprised by the high percentage of votes the PC platform managed to get. However, others weren’t as surprised, given that there is no fee to play online and, of course, Steam.

Also, many gamers own several platforms, so it makes sense why they would want to choose PlayStation for gaming. If we take optimization into account, PS may be best for single-player games.

What do you think about the results of this poll? Which platform do you use to play most of your games? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion

Razer’s New Vertical Mouse Might Change How Gaming Mice Work

Story Highlight
  • Competitive players risk hand injuries due to excessive practice, which is why a vertical mouse design benefits such cases.
  • The Razer Pro Click V2 Vertical combines productivity-based features with gaming mouse features in a vertical design, making it a jack of all trades.
  • It’s not a perfect mouse, but it’s a push toward the right track, and with future improvements, vertical mice might reintroduce what gaming peripherals are about.

A good mouse is one of the first things gamers consider upgrading when playing competitively. Whether we talk about CS:GO, Valorant, Fortnite, Apex Legends, or any other competitive shooter game, a good mouse makes or breaks your skills. Mice like the Logitech G Pro X Superlight or the Razer Viper V3 Pro usually top the recommendation board. But what if I told you Razer’s new vertical mouse might change how gaming mice work? Let’s break down why I think so.

Competitive E-Sports Players Risk Hand Injury

How do you think a player reaches a world-class competitive league in an online game? Is it simple luck and skill? Not really. Every competitive player puts in outrageous amounts of time on training. Of course, skill and genetics play a part, but they also need practice. However, what happens when you keep your hand in the same posture for 8-10 hours daily? Perhaps even more? You risk hand injury, that’s what.

There have been cases of E-Sports players retiring early due to underlying hand injuries. Thomas “ZooMaa” Paparatto, a top player in Call of Duty, retired in 2021. According to an interview with the Washington Post, he reported having “no range of motion in his thumb” since 2016 and that he’d “feel the wear and tear of long gaming sessions”. There have been other cases, too, which is why an ergonomic mouse might help offset some of the toll of hardcore grinding, and that’s precisely where Razer’s Pro Click V2 Vertical comes into play.

Productivity And Gaming Merged In One

For a long time, ergonomic vertical mice have been mostly enjoyed for productivity purposes. That’s still the case, but the Razer Pro Click V2 Vertical changes things up. Sure, it has its productivity advantages, but it also has most of the features you’d look for in a high-end gaming mouse.

The mouse features eight programmable buttons, which is decent for most productivity use cases. Besides that, Razer has introduced an “AI Prompt Master” that provides quick access to prompting ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot. It also helps boost productivity by summarizing text, drafting emails, and much more. You can also add shortcuts to the programmable buttons through the Razer Synapse 4 software to streamline your workflow for productivity tasks.

That’s not all this mouse offers, though. Razer went above the requirements and added the esteemed Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor, which you find in the Deathadder V3 Pro and the Viper V2 Pro. The sensor provides up to 550 inches-per-second max speed and a max acceleration of 40G. You also get 100% PTFE feet for smooth gliding, mechanical switches rated for 60 million switches, and Razer HyperSpeed Wireless. The only problem might be the weight, going up to 150g.

Gamer Design With An Ergonomic Feel

What do you think happens when you merge an ergonomic design with a gamer design? An odd combination, I agree, but that’s exactly what the Razer Pro Click Vertical V2 did with its design. On one hand, we have a somber vertical mouse with a standard design and grip. On the other hand, the mouse is filled with Razer’s traditional gaming accessory design elements.

For example, the mouse has a dark-colored sleek design, which you see in Razer’s other offerings, too. The lower half of the mouse is illuminated with 18-zone lighting for a full underglow, which looks beautiful, at least in the images. You can customize the lighting through Razer’s Chroma RGB software. I understand why Razer went with such a unique design; it truly sets the product apart from the competition.

It’s Not Perfect

All the praises aside, the Razer Pro Click Vertical V2 isn’t the “perfect” mouse. The biggest con is the weight. If you have ever played competitively, you’ll know how much a mouse’s weight can affect your gameplay. That’s why a honeycomb design was introduced in the first place: to reduce as much weight as possible. Today, we have mice that weigh 42g or less (I can see you, Hitscan Hyperlight). In such a dynamic, introducing a 150g mouse sends a weird tingle through my skin.

That’s not all, either. Changing your mouse grip and adjusting to it will take time, too. Sure, it’s for a better cause (preventing hand injury), but you might have to go back to the basics and climb the stairs from the start. That’s a lot of commitment you’d need to put into getting back into the arena. But if you can do it, you also reap the benefits.

We’re On The Right Track

Like I said, the Razer Pro Click Vertical V2 isn’t the perfect mouse, but it’s a step toward the right track. Hand injuries due to excessive repetitive tasks are uncommon but not unheard of, and if the dangers of competitive gaming can be reduced, the industry can flourish even more.

I can’t wait to see what kind of peripherals Razer and its competitors will introduce following this product’s release. I can only say that Razer’s new vertical mouse might change how gaming mice work, and I’m all up for it!

What Makes The Epomaker HE68 Different?

Compared with most competitors, which only top out at a 1,000 Hz polling rate, the Epomaker HE68 differentiates itself with an 8K polling rate over a USB connection. Moreover, its 65% form factor and south-facing RGB balances between compact footprint and customizable per-key lighting on par with other offerings. Lastly, the Epomaker’s HE68 undercuts the competition on price without sacrificing hot-swap flexibility and magnetic actuation adjustability.

Packaging & Unboxing

The Epomaker HE68 is packaged in a minimalistic black and purple box. The front of the packaging features an image of the keyboard, the strap, and the Epomaker HE68 branding. A similar design on the rear features the keyboard and strap on one side and some basic keyboard information on the other.

Upon opening the box, the keyboard is completely covered in a plastic sleeve below a transparent dust cover. The strap is already attached to the keyboard’s left side. Overall, the unboxing process is straightforward, and everything you require to get started is included and neatly organized.

Design

Design
Design

Since the Epomaker HE68 has a 65% layout and 67 keys, it lacks a function row and a number pad. Nevertheless, every primary key is present and easily reachable. To add a touch of color to the otherwise all-white keyboard, purple-lettered white and completely purple Esc and Enter keycaps are present.

The purple keycaps provide a beautiful and sophisticated touch, making it perhaps one of the most aesthetically pleasing options in its price range. It offers unbeatable stylish looks. For those who prefer a darker color scheme, you can also get it in a black and red variant. Although the way it looks changes based on the color chosen, a few colored keycaps highlight the keyboard’s mainly monochrome aspect.

Additionally, it features a little purple strap on its left side. Several prominent keyboard manufacturers, such as Wooting, have included this type of strap in their 60HE+ keyboard. Many seem to like it, and it has become a wonderful trend. It gives the keyboard a more distinctive and fashionable appearance in your workspace. Of course, the strap is detachable, so you can take it off if you don’t like it.

Build Quality

Build Quality
Build Quality

The HE68 internal components are covered in a smooth-finished ABS plastic casing that can be black or white and has sharp edges. The plastic chassis sets the tone for the keyboard’s overall design and feels elegant, even though it isn’t made of aluminum. It keeps its low weight at 0.7kg while being solid and well-made.

Moreover, when you put force on the keyboard, it doesn’t bend or squeeze too much. It remains in its place and feels sturdy on the desk, as the aluminum plate supports its rigidity. The case includes a few sound-dampening materials, such as PRO sandwich foam and a silicone bottom pad. Lastly, the keyboard’s gasket mounting design makes typing on it stable.

Underside

The keyboard has two-level feet to provide height adjustment. It was helpful, allowing me to type at my preferred comfortable angle. Even with me typing aggressively, the keyboard remained firmly placed on the desk thanks to the four rubber feet and the bottom of the kickstands with rubber cushions. These lessen the likelihood that it could move while being used. Moreover, a silver nameplate with the keyboard’s name, Epomaker HE68, printed on it, is positioned in the middle of the underside.

Keycaps

Keycaps
Keycaps

The Epomaker HE68’s keycaps are made from double-shot PBT, and they are not only attractive but also have a distinctive texture that blends in nicely with the keyboard’s completely smooth chassis. They outperform in feeling and are far more durable than the typical low-cost plastic keycaps present in several keyboards.

The keycaps also have a cherry profile, making them somewhat curved and lower, which makes them comfortable for my fingers to type on. Regarding looks, they appear vibrant and refreshing on the desk. They have a beautiful white-focused design and deep purple letters that align well with the theme.

RGB Lighting

The Epomaker HE68 features outstanding RGB lighting that complements its overall aesthetic. Since the RGB LEDs are south-facing, a smooth and clear glow appears when the light flows beneath the keycaps. Despite being non-shine-through keycaps, the keyboard’s subtle RGB lighting shines beautifully in low-light settings.

Additionally, the RGB lighting is dazzling and you can easily customize it to suit your mood by switching between different backlight colors and effects, which can also be sped up or slowed down. Yet, they don’t overshadow the keyboard’s general design, making it appealing and not overly distracting when in use.

Since Epomaker’s HE68 is a Hall-Effect keyboard, it eliminates the conventional mechanical switches on a standard mechanical keyboard. So, they have the Epomaker Magnetic Pink hot-swappable switches. The switches are intended for gaming, have magnets that lower friction, and are far more sturdy.

Despite being 3-pin, these switches feel durable and are relatively stable, even if they are heavy to press. In addition to their exceptional durability, you can choose how far you must press the key until it registers.

3-pin Compatibility
3-pin Compatibility

This helps gamers act more quickly in games and is known as actuation point adjustment. When typing on these switches, you will feel the pre-lubrication right away. Although it smoothes them out, they might still feel scratchy sometimes. However, they perform admirably and have a distinct feel from standard switches.

Connectivity & Performance

Connectivity
Connectivity

It only features a wired-only connection, which keeps things fairly straightforward. On the back, there is a USB Type-C port and a Win/Mac toggle switch for both OS compatibility. It has an extremely low input latency and an 8K polling rate. This indicates that keystrokes are registered with a minimal delay of only 0.125 ms, or nearly instantaneously.

The HE68 performs significantly better than comparable standard gaming keyboards, which often have a polling rate of 1000Hz and a latency of about 1ms. This is important for gamers since it offers more responsive and smooth performance, particularly in fast-paced games. Overall, it is reliable, interruption-free, and saves you from worrying about connection dropouts.

Type-C Cable
Type-C Cable

Furthermore, gamers are most likely to take advantage of functions in advanced settings like dynamic keystrokes, mod-tap, toggle key, and Snap tap. Jokingly, I couldn’t improve as a player even with the magnetic switches. Yes, the inputs got simpler because I could change the sensitivity for each key, but it still couldn’t help me become a decent competitive player, after all.

Typing Experience

Typing Experience
Typing Experience

Because of its design choices and PBT plastic build alongside an aluminum alloy plate, it may not be able to satisfy everyone in terms of sound. Naturally, the keyboard sound profile provides a pop-pitch, plasticky sound that may not appeal to those seeking a smoother acoustic experience. Even though the PRO sandwich foam silicone bottom pad absorbs certain keypress noises rather well.

They are not enough to create a softened or deeper sound profile. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a good idea to use this keyboard where you’re trying to be quiet or in a common area because rapid pressing of the keys makes considerable noise, as I was playing DOTA 2. Inevitably, the keyboard’s plastic casing significantly impacts its acoustics.

However, it provides a stable typing experience, eliminating wobbling and staying noticeably solid with minimal flex. Additionally, the lubricated switches provide smoother keypresses and minimize rattling. I would define it as having a default sound, with 60% clacky and 40% thocky sound profile. Generally, typing on the HE68 provided a satisfactory experience. Although it is a little more scratchy than some of its competitors, I don’t mind that.

Software

The Epomaker HE68 driver allows users to customize most of the keyboard’s features. Basic customization features include changing RGB lighting, creating macros, and adjusting function keyboard shortcuts. Furthermore, the software enables users to customize each key’s actuation settings and even activate SOCD features.

It is pretty helpful for movements in fighting titles and strafing or counterstrafing in competitive FPS games like Valorant. This benefits gamers by allowing them to customize the keyboard’s functionality for more rapid responses. Performing customizations wasn’t too hard for me because I had previously used magnetic keyboards. However, it can be challenging for a new user to comprehend what the settings do.

Learning all of it might take some time because the interface does seem a little complex. Nevertheless, the software provides many handy features to customize the keyboard to your preferences after you get used to it. Despite not being the most user-friendly program, Epomaker has provided almost every customization possibility for every scenario in which it could be used.

Should You Buy It?

Buy It If

You want an affordable entry to Hall-Effect switches: At just $59.99, the HE68 lets you experience magnetic actuation without the usual premium price.

You appreciate customization: The hot-swappable Magnetic Pink switches, gasket-mount design, PRO sandwich foam, and double-shot PBT keycaps combine for a stable, satisfying typing feel and customization options.

You need ultra-low latency performance: With an 8 kHz polling rate and 0.125 ms USB latency, every keystroke registers nearly instantaneously, which is ideal for competitive gaming.

Don’t Buy It If

You need wireless freedom: The HE68 is wired-only, so there’s no Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz option.

You want a premium metal chassis: Its ABS plastic top case won’t satisfy metal chassis enthusiasts.

My Thoughts

As a Hall-Effect keyboard, the Epomaker HE68 is a fantastic option that allows users to try the Hall-Effect technology at a reasonably priced tag. Even though it is wired-only and has a plastic build quality, it’s still a great way to get started, which many players are eager to do for their competitive games.

There is no wireless connectivity, but if the Hall Effect functionality is affordable, I’m ready to take it as a worthwhile tradeoff any day. My main complaint is the hefty price tag of magnetic and Hall Effect keyboards. I don’t want someone to spend several hundred dollars on a new keyboard.

Borderlands Director Says You’ll Still Buy An $80 Game If You’re A True Fan

Story Highlight
  • Gearbox boss says he isn’t the one who will decide the price of Borderlands 4.
  • He says if you’re a true fan, you’ll find a way to buy it irrespective of the price tag.
  • The trend of $80 games has picked up after Nintendo’s Mario Kart World.

The prospect of $80 games has become a heated topic of discussion in the gaming industry. While fans are essentially against it, it seems to be the way forward for most studios, especially since Nintendo announced Mario Kart World.

Now, the Borderlands director has stated that if you are a true fan of the game, you will still find a way to buy it, even if it is priced at $80, but he doesn’t know what Borderlands 4 will cost.

Why it matters: Polls have revealed that most fans are against $80 games; however, data suggests that fans often buy the more expensive Deluxe Editions of games, which could motivate publishers to raise prices.

Borderlands director says true fans will still buy a game priced at $80.

Replying to a post on X about Borderland 4’s potential $80 price tag, Gearbox Studios boss Randy Pitchford stated that deciding the price isn’t his call, but if you’re a true fan, you’ll find a way to buy it.

He said that in 1991, when he was young, Starflight for Saga Genesis was sold at $80 at a local store, but he found a way to make it happen. While he has claimed the price isn’t his decision, this seems like a subtle hint towards the inflated price.

Borderlands 4 gameplay release date
He says deciding Borderlands 4’s price isn’t up to him.

Xbox also recently revealed that its games could cost $80 beginning this winter. This confirms that GTA 6 will be at least $80. Even a former employee stated that the Rockstar game deserves the price.
