RX 9060 XT Leak Details 8GB And 16GB Models With 128-Bit Memory Bus

Story Highlight
  • The AMD RX 9060 XT will sport a 128-bit memory bus.
  • It will offer 8GB and 16GB of VRAM, like the RTX 5060 Ti.
  • AMD should be ready to share official details about the GPU very soon.

Following AMD’s recent release of the RX 9070 XT, the company was quick to tease future RDNA 4 offerings. While retailers continue to struggle with stock and pricing of the first two RX 9000 GPUs, AMD is already planning the RX 9060 XT.

New leaks have also revealed initial details regarding this particular graphics card. According to the leaks, the RX 9060 XT features 8GB and 16GB memory configurations.

Why it matters: 8GB of VRAM is barely enough for the latest AAA games, so a 16GB option for cheaper GPUs is necessary today.

9070 XT Price Leaked
The 9070 And 9070 XT Offer 16GB of Memory

As reported by Videocardz, the first few details come from an anonymous board partner. The details show that AMD has opted for a 128-bit memory bus for the RX 9060 XT, highlighting a setup similar to that of the RTX 5060 Ti.

The cheaper RDNA 4 GPU will sport 20Gbps memory like the RX 9070 XT, and it is said to require a power supply rated at 500W or more. The leak also suggests that AMD is set to use the Navi 44 GPU for this model.

Judging by the memory setup alone, AMD could offer serious competition to the RTX 5060 Ti with the right price. Nvidia will likely price its 16GB RTX 5060 Ti between $400 and $500, giving AMD a chance to capture market share with a slightly lower price.

Little else is known about the RX 9060 XT, but more details should be forthcoming. In addition to this GPU, AMD will soon share details about the non-XT RX 9060, potentially encouraging millions of mid-range PC gamers to upgrade their existing builds.

The gaming giant has made it clear that pricing is a key focus of the RX 9000 lineup, making the next few graphics cards just as exciting as the recently launched RX 9070 XT and 9070.

“We Were Losing Money Left And Right On Original Xbox” Former Boss Reveals Why Xbox 360 Launched Early In 2005

Story Highlight
  • Microsoft launched the Xbox 360 in 2005, one year before the PS3 arrived.
  • This decision was made because the original Xbox was losing money and became unsustainable.
  • At the same time, Xbox intended to capitalize on the age of online and HD gaming.

Microsoft has been part of the gaming industry for over two decades, but the Xbox 360 remains its biggest achievement. Not only was the Xbox 360 a gateway into HD gaming for millions of people, but it also kickstarted this new era one year earlier than the PS3.

A former Microsoft executive has now shared details on the decision to launch the console earlier than Sony’s hardware. He states that one key reason was the fact that the original Xbox was losing a lot of money.

Why it matters: Microsoft has found itself in a similar position again, with the Xbox Series S|X selling poorly in the market. Rumors suggest it may rely on the same strategy and launch next-generation hardware before PlayStation.

Peter Moore, the former head of Xbox, recently shared the thought process behind the Xbox 360’s early launch during an episode of the Gamertag Radio podcast.

He revealed two main reasons for this approach, one of which was Microsoft’s intention to one-up PlayStation and gain market share through an early transition to the digital HD era.

However, Microsoft Gaming’s own financial condition played a major role in the Xbox 360’s launch. He described how hardware selling below projections can be a death sentence. For Xbox, the software-to-hardware attach rate was also lower than expected.

As Peter Moore puts it, the original Xbox was not only losing money, it was “hemorrhaging cash.” Fortunately, Microsoft could afford to lose cash and did so for a while before it became apparent that the PS2 was completely unstoppable and could not be matched.

We were losing money right, left, and center. We were Microsoft, so we could afford to hemorrhage cash.

This, combined with Microsoft’s intentions to bring HD and digital gaming to the forefront, meant that the gaming giant had little doubts about moving on from the original console.

The Xbox 360 Had Many Great Exclusive Titles
The Xbox 360 Had Many Great Exclusive Titles

The company also hoped to pioneer Xbox Live as the biggest platform in the online world. All of this would have been impossible without new hardware, so the Xbox 360 was born.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Originally Featured Naoe As Sole Protagonist

Story Highlight
  • Assassin’s Creed Shadows sparked controversy over including Yasuke, the African samurai.
  • Developers originally planned the game around Naoe alone but later introduced Yasuke to offer dual perspectives and varied gameplay styles.
  • Ubisoft has since downplayed Yasuke in marketing, but early impressions suggest the game remains promising.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been the series’ most controversial and ambitious launch, with its Feudal Japan setting that many have dubbed “historically inaccurate.” Moreover, having Yasuke, an African lead protagonist, didn’t help with this case much.

While some have been vocal about disliking Yasuke as the lead protagonist, the original game wasn’t planned around the samurai. In a new interview, Assassin’s Creed Shadows developers revealed that they initially planned Naoe as the sole protagonist and added Yasuke much later.

Why it matters: Assassin’s Creed Shadows would have been a completely different game and likely far less controversial if Naoe had been the sole protagonist.

One-Shot Assassinations Are Back With AC Shadows

In an interview with Gamerant, Assassin’s Creed Shadows developers were asked about the game’s initial development phases, to which creative producer Jonathan Dumont responded:

We decided to move into having two different POVs and clear playstyles, and this is the moment Yasuke joined the adventure.

Even from the gameplay footage, Naoe’s character appears much more fleshed out than Yasuke’s, which makes sense, considering the samurai was the second addition rather than the primary focus.

However, his character still looks very interesting, and it would be exciting to play the game with a different POV and playstyle, giving players more freedom.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Dual Protagonists
The Infinity Platform Will Bring The Focus Back On Modern-Day Assassin’s Creed Story

Following the backlash, Ubisoft has removed Yasuke from the game’s banners in the marketing campaigns. Moreover, earlier reports suggested that Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ $20 million delay was to limit Yasuke’s role in the game and focus more on Naoe.

If anything, the delays worked out in favor of the RPG, as earlier impressions are quite positive, suggesting a solid and successful release.

Do you think Assassin’s Creed Shadows would have been fine with Naoe as the sole playable character, or does it benefit from the dual-protagonist approach? Let us know in the comments below or head towards the official Tech4Gamers Forum for more discussions.

Doom: The Dark Ages Offers Completely Brand New And Transformed Weapons

Story Highlight
  • Doom: The Dark Ages will feature overhauled weapons from the last entry.
  • Except for the shotgun, all weapons are transformed and built from scratch.
  • It also has new melee weapons and vehicles making the core gameplay different.

The next installment in the Doom franchise, Doom: The Dark Ages is all set to release this year. As we near the launch, new details about the title are being revealed, and this time it’s about the most important aspect of the title, the combat.

The game director says that all weapons in Doom: The Dark Ages are completely different and overhauled from the last game except for the shotguns.

Why it matters: Combat is what makes the Doom games stand out and that’s primarily thanks to great weapons and guns, where each shot has its weight, so it’ll be interesting to see what the new ones bring to the table.

Doom-The-Dark-Ages
Doom The Dark Ages combat will be different from previous games

Speaking to PC Gamer, Doom: The Dark Ages director, Hugo Martin talked about the changes they’ve made to the weapons. He said that you have your classics like the plasma rifle and shotguns, but they wanted to do more, so they started from scratch.

I think only the shotguns are the same, The plasma is so different, so the rest are brand new.

– Hugo Martin

Some of the most interesting new weapons include The Skullcrusher which lets you do horrible things to the demons, and The Railspike which pins the enemies to the walls. In addition, the title will also feature new vehicles.

Doom The Dark Ages
Doom The Dark Ages offers the series’ biggest levels

Overall the core gameplay will be different from the last entries. Martin further stated that the difficulty of the game won’t dial up instantly because most of the guns are brand new and they will take some time to master.

Doom: The Dark Ages is just a couple of months away at this point as it comes out on May 15. So, you won’t have to wait too long to finally jump into the unforgiving world and take out the demons with the brand-new weapons.

Devil May Cry 5 Anniversary: Capcom Revived The IP 6 Years Ago And Forgot About It Again

Story Highlight
  • Devil May Cry 5 is officially six years old at this point, and Capcom has yet to make a brand new game for the series.
  • An anime adaptation from Netflix is on track to arrive soon, but fans hope to see a brand-new game.
  • Recent rumours have suggested that Capcom will remake the third entry.

Update As of March 9, 2025: Devil May Cry 5 is officially six years old at this point, and no new game from Capcom is currently in sight.

Although the gaming giant is still invested in the IP and working on an anime adaptation, fans yearn for a brand-new gaming entry. This is easier said than done, of course, since Hideaki Itsuno is no longer at Capcom.

His departure has spurred rumours of a Devil May Cry 3 remake, but no official announcement has come from Capcom itself. Anyhow, with action games looking better than ever today, it would only be fitting for the pioneer of the genre to make its much-anticipated return soon.

Original Story: Devil May Cry 5 was seen as an epic comeback for the long-running action franchise. After a disappointing DMC reboot from Ninja Theory, Capcom finally delivered everything fans have come to expect from the series.

The latest title took the franchise back to its roots, with characters like Dante and Nero returning in all their glory. Devil May Cry 5 was released four years ago on this day and continues to be a shining example of a modern action game.

Devil May Cry 5
The game builds on the solid foundation of Devil May Cry 4.

The previous entry in the franchise had excellent ideas with the new protagonist Nero and on-the-fly style switching for Dante. However, Devil May Cry 4 lacked in areas like the level design and story mode.

The latest title remedies these issues while keeping the excellent combat from DMC 4 and expanding on previous options. Characters like Nero and Dante have more options than before, allowing players to experiment and learn the depths of the combat system.

Devil May Cry 5 also introduces a newcomer to the franchise, V. Unlike the other characters, V summons demons to handle the enemies. This leads to a new playstyle and adds more variety to an already deep combat system.

Since the game utilizes Capcom’s RE Engine, Devil May Cry 5 features incredibly detailed visuals. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X users can also try the Special Edition for ray tracing to enhance the visual experience further.

The franchise is infamous for its quality releases over the years. Devil May Cry inspired various titles like the original God of War, many of which are still beloved today. As such, Devil May Cry 5 had big shoes to fill, and Capcom did a phenomenal job reviving the legendary franchise while staying true to the previous games.

For those looking to play a high-octane, action-packed game with a high skill ceiling, Devil May Cry 5 is among the finest options available today. The game is available across nearly every platform and can often be found on sale for much cheaper than the base price.

The Witcher 4; Ciri Offers Different Playstyle Than Geralt And Feels More Agile

Story Highlight
  • CDPR says Ciri will feel quite different from Geralt in The Witcher 4.
  • Despite being quite fast, Geralt is more on the heavier side than his adopted daughter.
  • Her gameplay will be more nimble and highlight her upbringing in Kaer Morhen.

The Witcher 4’s first trailer gave fans a new glimpse at an older, more battle-hardened version of Ciri. Taking over as the IP’s new protagonist for a full trilogy, Ciri is set to establish her own identity and push CDPR’s RPG formula forward.

In doing so, the character brings a different gameplay style to the table. As per CDPR, Ciri will be much more agile and nimble than Geralt.

Why it matters: Fans have become accustomed to Geralt’s gameplay over three mainline titles. The new style will offer something fresh for newcomers and die-hard fans alike.

During episode 15 of the AnswerRED podcast, CDPR’s Pawel Burza recalled Ciri’s acrobatic abilities from The Witcher 4’s reveal trailer.

He remarked that she used a somersault to finish an enemy off at one point, something Geralt would not do. Pawel Burza then highlighted the major gameplay differences fans can expect after playing The Witcher 3.

While Geralt was never considered slow, his gameplay had a sense of heft that will not carry over to Ciri’s combat. As per the developer, Ciri feels significantly more agile, partially due to her smaller body.

He’s (Geralt) nimble, but he feels like a block in some sense. She’s like liquid compared to him. She’s smaller, which lets her use that to her advantage.

-Pawel Burza

Director Sebastian Kalemba also noted that Ciri’s playstyle will reflect her upbringing in Kaer Morhen.

Geralt and Ciri Witcher 3
Geralt Will Also Make An Appearance In CDPR’s Upcoming RPG

Geralt will not be sitting The Witcher 4 out, so CDPR could further highlight the contrast between the two characters throughout the narrative. While his role in the story will be limited, it should be enough to showcase the two protagonists’ fighting styles.

What are your thoughts on these details? Let’s discuss this in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Final Verdict—What We Recommend?

RX 7900 GRE: This is a solid card that offers great 1440p performance, especially for single-player games. It is equivalent to RTX 4070 Super but showcases slightly higher performance and is relatively cheaper as well. Unlike atrocious prices of other cards, its price is fairly reasonable and serves as an attraction.

RX 9070 XT: This is a solid release from AMD that could position it as the more sought after card company this year, and could even overshadow Nvidia since their new releases aren’t worth it. It did offer great 1440p performance and could easily push 4K with high FPS using its advanced FSR 4.

Conclusively, we expect that the RX 9070 XT’s price will increase well over the price of the RX 7900 GRE given that its performance is relatively higher. If it falls in the same range as the RX 7900 GRE, then you’re getting a steal deal. If it doesn’t, we recommend you get the RX 7900 GRE because it is absolutely worth its price.

Battlefield 6 Playtest Gameplay Footage Shows Similar Mechanics To Battlefield 3

Story Highlight
  • Many clips have been coming out from the Battlefield 6 Playtest.
  • The leaked gameplay footage shows similar mechanics to Battlefield 3.
  • It appears to be a great thing, as fans have demanded this for a long time.

Fans were really disappointed after the last release of the iconic Battlefield franchise, but the developers are doing everything they can to meet fans’ expectations for the next one.

As the game has recently entered playtest, much of the gameplay footage has been leaked, and Dice’s recent statements that they are looking at everything that has been done to rebuild the franchise seem to be true.

The leaked gameplay from Battlefield 6 shows similar mechanics to Battlefield 3.

Why it matters: Battlefield 5 was criticised for moving away from the things that built the franchise. However, it’s great to see the franchise returning to its roots.

Just recently, many of the clips have been leaked out from the playtest gameplay and it looks like the game has very similar mechanics to the past entries in the franchise.

While the pre-alpha gameplay footage of Battlefield 6 showed a glimpse of realistic destruction mechanics, the recently leaked clips revealed even a better look at what fans can expect from the title, and the destruction mechanics look much better than in past entries.

Not only the realistic destruction, Battlefield 3 was further praised for its well-designed environments and for offering some of the best gunplay and movement in the series. These clips suggest the next entry will offer improvements based on the same foundations.

Battlefield
Battlefield 6 Is Still A Year Away From Its Release

The developers also seem confident about the next entry. The franchise head recently stated that they believe the next Battlefield entry could outsell Call of Duty. Therefore, it’s great to see the studio’s trust in their next project.

It should also be noted that the recent leaked clips are not the final version of the title. Battlefield 6 is a year away from its release, so many more changes will be made soon.

Why it matters: False claims about product recalls can severely damage the reputation of brands like MSI and Nvidia.

According to KitGuru, the story is about a minor miscommunication between “Your Game Specialist,” the store, and one of their clients, Ben, who paid close to $3,700 for an MSI RTX 5090 GPU.

A store representative informed Ben that the order could not be fulfilled because of a “potential fire hazard” found on the GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards. This misleading report may result in Defamation claims, potentially leading to legal action from Nvidia or MSI.

In the meantime, customers are now directed to one of MSI’s approved resellers, as the company has distanced itself from the store.

That said, it’s easy for rumors to get out of control, given the negative reputation Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs have been receiving. However, users have also reported that RTX 5090 GPUs have unequal current delivery, resulting in cable temperatures up to 150 degrees Celsius.

The GeForce RTX 50-series launch may have been one of the most difficult in Nvidia’s history. Even if you can obtain one, you still run the danger of missing ROPs, which can lead to performance degradation of as much as 11%.

Cinematic Trailer For Project U, Ubisoft’s Forgotten PvE Shooter Has Seemingly Leaked

Story Highlight
  • A leaked cinematic trailer for Ubisoft’s forgotten Project U emerged just when the project restarted development last year.
  • The trailer showcases the game’s art style and theme, though the game’s final form remains uncertain.
  • With recent project failures, Ubisoft hopes Project U can strengthen its multiplayer lineup.

Project U was one of Ubisoft’s attempts to break into the live service market. Announced in 2022, the game quickly faded into silence, leading many to believe it had bit the dust.

However, the development of the project was restarted last year. Following Helldivers 2’s success, the French publisher believed that there was room for success with PvE games.

While the game may still be quite far away, a new cinematic trailer for Project U has seemingly leaked on YouTube.

Why It Matters: Ubisoft has streamlined its releases following colossal failures, making its future projects much more focused. Project U seems promising, for starters.

While the trailer didn’t explicitly mention the game in the video title, it did refer to the “forgotten Ubisoft game,” which plainly suggests Project U.

The cinematic trailer, lasting under 3 minutes, gives us the best look at the art style, characters, and theme Ubisoft is aiming for the game. While the trailer is still up at the time of this writing, it’s expected to be DMCA’d at some point.

Before returning to the drawing board, Project U had been in development for five years, so the trailer may predate its restarted development.

Ubisoft Reportedly Struggled With Project U’s Replayability

Just recently, it was also reported that a multiplayer Far Cry extraction shooter had restarted development. Such wasted budgets over the years aren’t exactly a good sign, and with the company’s stock already plummeting, it’s no surprise if we see these projects canceled.

Xdefiant, the “Call of Duty” title, was also abandoned, so the French publisher is in dire need of another live-service multiplayer project in addition to Rainbow Six Seige.

The Witcher 4 Trailer Is Inspired From A24 Films, Says Director

Story Highlight
  • The Witcher 4 trailer director says he was inspired by A24 films while creating it.
  • He said he loves the slow burn with The Lighthouse and The Witch movies.
  • The audiences want more mature themes rather than overwhelming action in trailers.

CD Projekt Red debuted The Witcher 4 trailer back in December introducing Ciri as the new protagonist. However, the trailer was quite different from what we’ve seen before with the franchise, it focused less on the action and more on the build-up.

Now, The Witcher 4 trailer director has revealed that he took a lot of inspiration from A24 Films like The Lighthouse and The Witch while preparing it.

Why it matters: A24 Films are largely known for complex and ambiguous plots that don’t lean towards a lot of action, but more towards a grounded approach and darker storytelling.

Speaking on the AnsweRED podcast, The Witcher 4 trailer director Tomek Suwalski talked about where he drew inspiration and the approach behind creating the trailer. He praised A24 Films and stated how the trailer took a page out of their books.

What I like about those films (The Witch, The Lighthouse) is that they allow for a slow burn, which is a very rare thing to have in short-form and in a trailer.

– Tomek Suwalski

Suwalski said that he took a slow-burn approach with the trailer which isn’t something seen very much with short-form content. He didn’t want overwhelming action with the trailer as the audience got bored of it, instead, he wanted to do the opposite.

The Witcher 4 trailer was inspired from A24 Films with a darker tone

He felt the audience wanted a more mature, more explicit, and deep trailer that could be something meaningful. Therefore, he took a dark approach with it and conveyed the message that real monsters aren’t always creatures, but people.

The Witcher 4 does seem like a pretty dark game from the first trailer. However, if the entire title will keep the same theme is yet to be known. We currently don’t have any information about its release or anything else but hope CDPR reveals more soon.

GTA 6 Will Give Xbox Series S|X Final Chance To Boost Sales For “Last Hurrah” Says Analyst

Story Highlight
  • GTA 6 is coming soon, and analysts believe it could be the perfect moment for Microsoft to push the Xbox Series S|X.
  • The Xbox Series S’ budget-friendly nature could encourage millions to buy the console to play the latest Grand Theft Auto title.
  • If Microsoft can play its cards right, it may finish the generation on a strong note following this momentum.

GTA 6 is quickly approaching its Fall 2025 release window, leaving just 6-7 more months before the game arrives. Rockstar Games’ latest epic is set to skip PC and launch exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series S|X later this year.

This means that, for the first time in many years, a blockbuster of Grand Theft Auto’s scale won’t be available to the millions of PC gamers. In a way, this creates an exciting opportunity for the console industry, and analysts believe this may be Microsoft’s last chance to redeem the Xbox Series S|X.

Why it matters: Xbox Series S|X sales have been nothing but abysmal in recent years, forcing Microsoft to shift to a third-party approach. However, GTA 6 could end up being this Xbox generation’s saving grace.

Take-Two Has Stated That The Fall 2025 Release Window Is Still In Place

Speaking to Windows Central, Midia Research analyst Rhys Elliot explained that PlayStation has already won the console generation.

However, in the case of GTA 6, the Xbox Series S has a unique strength. Because Microsoft’s budget console is by far the cheapest option on the market, it could see a major sales surge as new customers rush to buy current-gen hardware for Rockstar Games’ latest title.

The analyst states that Microsoft must do its best to advertise this strength, adding discounts for the perfect lightning-in-a-bottle moment. Rhys Elliot also explained that PlayStation is expected to secure marketing rights for GTA 6.

This would make the situation even more tricky for Microsoft, giving it no room for error.

Xbox could use the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 as a last hurrah for its Series S|X generation.

The upcoming Grand Theft Auto title might be the industry’s saviour

The analyst also acknowledged that Take-Two would want to sell most copies on PS5 due to the higher install base. As such, the odds seem to be against Microsoft, but there is still hope for a major Xbox Series S|X comeback.
