Is Nintendo Future-Proofing the Switch 2 for a 10-Year Cycle?

Story Highlights

  • The original Switch’s long lifespan demonstrates that Nintendo can sustain hardware beyond typical product cycles.
  • The Switch 2 is expected to utilize Nvidia technology, such as DLSS, to boost performance.
  • Making use of backward compatibility could instantly give the Switch 2 a massive game library.
  • Digital features, AI tools, and cloud gaming may significantly increase the console’s long-term appeal.
  • Allowing room for small hardware upgrades after the initial launch may significantly increase the console’s lifespan.

Nintendo has a history of defying industrial norms. While competitors such as Sony and Microsoft are locked in a never-ending race for power using the latest hardware and yearly iterations, Nintendo makes its footing on charm. Nintendo has mastered the art of creating lasting impressions on players through creativity and uniqueness, increasing its long-term value.

The reveal of the Switch 2 raises a question: Is Nintendo future-proofing the Switch 2 for a 10-year cycle? Based on the information we have gathered from rumors, patents, and industry trends, it seems as if they might be doing so.

Learning from the Original Switch’s Success

Launched in 2017, the original Switch defied the lifespan of traditional consoles. Instead of chasing after photorealistic graphics or huge processing power, it offered versatility. It delivered a hybrid device that allowed for seamless transitions between handheld and docked play.

The gamble paid off, and the console sold over 132 million units worldwide, allowing it to enjoy a lifespan that outlasted typical consoles. The success of the original Switch taught Nintendo that platform lifespan isn’t about specs but rather comprises design, adaptability, and ecosystem strength.

While Nintendo has not officially confirmed the release date or the specs of the Switch 2, there will be some notable improvements. We know this through patent filings and industry leaks. Modular improvements, enhanced backward compatibility, and better performance capabilities will be incorporated.

Backward Compatibility: A Foundation for Longevity

One of the strongest indicators for long-term planning is support for existing Switch games. Reports suggest that the Switch 2 will be fully backward compatible. This will ensure that the existing library of hits, such as Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, remain playable. This move not only respects player investment but also ensures that existing communities do not fracture.

NVIDIA Partnership and DLSS Support

There have been rumors of an upgraded Nvidia chip with DLSS, suggesting that Nintendo is looking beyond just raw power. Nvidia DLSS enables games to render at a low resolution and scale up through AI. This will deliver better performance without the need for hefty hardware. This forward-looking optimization could keep the Switch 2 competitive for years to come.

A Strong Hybrid Identity

Unlike its competitors, who anchor themselves in high-end home consoles, Nintendo is expected to double down on its hybrid identity. With the Switch 2, Nintendo has the opportunity to expand its core philosophy with improved battery life, a better display, enhanced syncing capabilities, and more.

The hardware versatility will position the Switch 2 as not just a gaming device but as the optimal choice for gaming on the go. Additionally, the Switch has established itself as the ultimate indie gaming console. It just has to keep that going to stay immune to age.

Challenges to a Decade-Long Cycle

Committing to a 10-year cycle won’t come without any challenges. The rapid advancements in gaming technology, rising expectations for performance, and consumer demand for enhanced experiences may prompt Nintendo to upgrade sooner.

Additionally, competitors such as the Steam Deck and other handheld gaming PCs are carving out their space in this domain with much better specs. Therefore, Nintendo must strike a balance between future-proofing its hardware and maintaining affordability and accessibility.

Nintendo’s History of Long Lifecycles

Looking back, Nintendo has a track record of maintaining long product lifecycles. The Game Boy lasted over 10 years before being fully replaced. The DS and 3DS line spanned over a decade with multiple iterations.

Even the Wii, which lagged graphically, made its footing through creative software and peripheral support. The Switch 2 is aiming to keep this trend going. Rumored features, such as a new dock and internal storage of 512 GB, are likely to enhance the device’s future-proofing capabilities. Additionally, with a price of $499, fans are expecting a lot from the new console.

Nintendo is not future-proofing the way Sony and Microsoft are. Nintendo’s strategy is more focused on longevity through relevance. Whether it will last 10 years is yet to be seen. All signs, however, are pointing towards a console that is built for evolution.

Elden Ring Nightreign Review Roundup – FromSoftware’s Flawless Streak Broken

Story Highlight
  • Elden Ring Nightreign is FromSoftware’s worst-rated release in well over a decade.
  • The game has been criticized for lacking the charm of this studio’s usual experience.
  • The team’s experiment with multiplayer has also led to mixed results.

FromSoftware has had a practically flawless record since the release of Demon’s Souls, releasing hit after hit every few years. Even more controversial titles like Dark Souls 2 have been recognized by the critics, with Elden Ring raising the bar further in 2022.

Therefore, it came as no surprise that FromSoftware’s announcement of Elden Ring Nightreign created a lot of excitement. Many were on the edge of their seats to see what was next for the studio, but in a rare turn of events, Elden Ring Nightreign is not a smash hit, at least in terms of critical reception.

Why it matters: Elden Ring Nightreign was always seen as an experimental and risky title for FromSoftware. It seems this risk has led to mixed results.

Elden Ring Nightreign Metacritic Score
The Game Has Failed To Even Hit A Score of 80/100 | Image via Metacritic

Over on Metacritic, the game currently stands at an average score of 78/100, and a few of the scores are listed below.

  • VGC 6/10
  • IGN 7/10
  • GameSpot 9/10
  • TechRaptor 8/10

For context, this is much lower than anything the studio has released over the last decade.

Elden Ring itself boasts an average nearly 20 points higher at 96/100, while a somewhat controversial FromSoftware title like Dark Souls 2 currently boasts a critic score of 91/100.

It seems the major point of contention regarding Elden Ring Nightreign concerns the multiplayer elements. The more critical reviews have criticized the lack of exploration, somewhat lazy reliance on nostalgia for bosses, and the overall repetitive nature of the multiplayer experience.

Meanwhile, the title has still earned praise for its core gameplay, which has potential for future expansion in a later release.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
Elden Ring’s Legacy Has Been Somewhat Tainted By The New Title

Interestingly, FromSoftware’s next major release is yet another multiplayer-focused experience. The Duskbloods is set to launch as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive and is described as a PVPVE-focused title.

Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the studio evolves its approach to multiplayer moving forward.

What are your thoughts on Elden Ring Nightreign’s review score? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

The Rise of Local Cloud Gaming: Is Your ISP the Next Console?

Story Highlights
  • Your ISP could soon replace your gaming console.
  • Local cloud gaming cuts lag by bringing game servers closer to home.
  • Gamers will be able to access high-end titles without the need for expensive hardware.
  • ISPs are bundling gaming with internet plans for added value.

Not so long ago, being a dedicated gamer meant having the latest PlayStation, Xbox, or a powerful gaming PC. Recently, however, the gaming landscape has seen the rise of a new player: your internet service provider (ISP)

This is a new model where your ISP can be the backbone of your gaming experience. It will soon replace traditional consoles with on-demand and high-performance game streaming hosted just a few miles away from your home.

What Is Local Cloud Gaming?

Cloud gaming isn’t a new idea and is here to stay. Services such as Nvidia GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Amazon Luna have offered streamed gaming experiences for years now. They have enabled players to enjoy top-tier gaming experiences without requiring any powerful hardware. Players in the industry, such as Sony (via PlayStation), predicted that cloud gaming would become meaningful in 2025, as it is today.

However, Localized cloud gaming is a more refined and efficient version of this model and is soon to become a trend. Instead of streaming games through massive data centers from across the world, local cloud gaming involves making use of smaller, localized servers provided by your ISP. As the servers are much closer to the player, it reduces latency and enhances gameplay stability.

Doing so brings the performance levels of games much closer to that of traditional PCs and consoles. In this setup, your ISP becomes your game host, allowing you to get a premium gaming experience from your internet connection alone.

Why It’s Taking Off in 2025

Recently, several factors have converged to make cloud gaming not only possible but also practical and desirable. One of the primary driving factors of local cloud gaming is the demand for ultra-low latency,

The global expansion of fiber-optic broadband and other similar high-speed internet infrastructures have made it possible for ISPs to stream data-heavy games without any buffering or lag

ISPs Are Turning into Game Hosts

Around the world, ISPs are taking their first steps into the gaming industry by hosting local cloud gaming services. Soon, cloud gaming services such as Xbox Cloud and PlayStation Plus may be overtaken by local cloud gaming services provided by your local Internet Service Provider.

In Europe and many parts of Asia, telecom giants are bundling cloud gaming access with premium broadband packages, allowing users to stream high-end games without the need for hefty hardware. In the United States, companies such as AT&T and Verizon are experimenting with edge servers equipped with gaming capabilities.

Xbox Cloud Gaming

On the other hand, regional ISPs are attempting to leverage white-label solutions. This will allow them to rent or license back-end software and focus on hosting games locally. In some areas, users are already streaming demanding titles, such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring, directly from their local internet service provider (ISP) infrastructure.

The Future: A Cloud Console in Every Home?

As cloud gaming evolves, we may see internet plans with a Gaming Tier bundle. It will have access to a virtual console hosted on local servers, cloud saves, and a curated library of games. There would be no need for PCs or consoles; you would have to pair a controller with your smart device and start playing.

Technologies such as AI-enhanced latency reduction, cloud profile personalization, and cross-device syncing are closing the gap between what a console offers and what a local cloud gaming system can offer. Companies such as Microsoft may partner with ISPs to provide users with hassle-free gaming experiences.

Final Thoughts

Local Cloud Gaming is still in its early stages, but it is already reshaping the gaming world. By combining localized hosting, AI-driven performance optimizations, and integrated user experiences, ISPs are becoming the next big thing in gaming without ever needing to build a console.

For gamers, this means more options, convenience, and a new way to stream high-end games. As technology continues to evolve, the next big gaming revolution may come not from Sony or Microsoft but from the same company that provides your internet connection.

The Last of Us Part 2 Sold More Than 2 Million Copies During Season 2’s Run

Story Highlight
  • Chris Colombo said The Last of Us Part 2 sold 2 million copies during its second season.
  • Season 2 also did well for HBO, bringing in 20 million unique viewers and generating $72 million in subscriber value.
  • The Last of Us Part 2 has likely sold nearly 20 million copies by now.

HBO’s TV Show adaptation of The Last of Us has been an incredible commercial success, even though fans of the game haven’t received it well. That said, the TV show did a great job boosting the franchise’s success.

Season 2 of the TV Show aired just recently alongside a PC port of the second entry. During Season 2’s release window, The Last of Us Part 2 sold an impressive 2 million units.

Why it matters: It is quite impressive that a 5-year-old game can deliver such huge figures, which goes on to show how big of an IP The Last of Us has become.

It’s A Shame That Naughty Dog Cancelled The Last Of Us Multiplayer Title

Returning to the game side, during season 1’s premiere, both games saw a surge of around 1000% in player count.

The Last of Us 2 has exhibited great commercial success for Naughty Dog despite many people thinking that it may have flopped. By 2022, it had sold 10 million, and after the surge experienced across two seasons of the TV Show, the number is expected to be closer to 20 million.

Death Stranding Anime In Development By Kojima Productions

Story Highlight
  • A live-action film for Death Stranding is in the works, as Kojima is passionate about the film industry.
  • Thanks to that passion, Kojima Productions is also working on an anime for the game.
  • The sequel to Death Stranding is set to release next month.

Death Stranding is one of the most famous but weird franchises in the gaming industry. The first game in the series gained traction pretty fast, but many thought it was quite bizarre, which sums up Hideo Kojima’s entire personality pretty well.

He tried something different, and it clicked with the fandom. However, it always felt right for this franchise to have an anime. Now, Kojima has announced that this franchise is getting an anime.

Why it matters: Death Stranding is a unique game with a story that would fit perfectly in an anime.

In an interview with Vogue Japan, Hideo Kojima discussed his thoughts regarding the gaming and movie industry.

He thinks that the boundaries between these two will disappear in the future. Koijima then discussed the upcoming live-action movie of the game and also revealed that there is an anime in the works

I aim to create a Death Stranding that can only be realised through film, one that could win awards at festivals like the Cannes Film Festival or the Venice Film Festival. we are also currently working on an anime adaptation.

-Hideo Kojima

Kojima isn’t just passionate about games; he is also very passionate about films, and that is precisely why an anime and live-action film are in the works for Death Stranding. He previously hinted at an anime adaptation for the game, but it has never been confirmed until now.

Death Stranding Already Offers A Very Cinematic Experience

Hideo Kojima also discussed the different types of adaptation involved in converting games into visual media (movies, live-action films, seasons).

When it comes to adapting games into visual media, there are works like The Last of Us, which stays true to the original storyline, and films like The Super Mario Bros Movie which are more of a service to fans of the game.

What do you think about the upcoming live-action and anime projects of Death Stranding? Are you excited? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion.

PS5 Price Hike Could Be Avoided If US And China Reach Tariff Agreement By August, Suggests Analyst

Story Highlight
  • Xbox and Nintendo announced price hikes recently, but PlayStation has yet to join the two.
  • The PS5 has received a discount, and an analyst states that the threat of price hikes has been avoided for now.
  • He states it could still return if China and the US fail to agree on favorable tariff rates by August.

Gaming is constantly becoming more expensive. With new tariffs introduced by the US, Xbox has already raised console prices across the board, and Nintendo has revised accessory pricing.

PlayStation remains the only gaming giant of the three to have avoided a price hike, but fans are already prepared for the worst. In a surprising turn of events, however, an analyst predicts that a price hike could still be avoided.

Why it matters: The PS5 is expected to see a huge surge in sales over the next 12 months due to releases like Death Stranding 2 and GTA 6.

The PS5 Pro Would Cost Nearly $1000 In The Event of A Price Hike

Daniel Ahmad, A researcher and analyst at Niko Partners, recently commented on PlayStation’s decision to discount the PS5 as part of the “Days of Play” promotion.

The analyst states that this discount has been made possible by the existing stock of PS5 hardware in the US and the temporary pause in US tariffs. However, he warns that the price hike has not been completely avoided yet.

As per Daniel Ahmad, the failure of China and the US to reach an agreement by August would make price hikes more likely than ever. Fortunately, this also means that there is a chance the PS5 will retain its current MSRP if an agreement is reached within the timeframe.

For context, the US recently lowered its tariff rates from 145% to 35%, and China responded by lowering its own rates to 10%. This agreement has been implemented for three months, leaving major companies uncertain about the final outcome.

PS5 Pro
The PS5 Is Currently Cheaper Than The Xbox Series X

Because discussions are underway, there is a chance the US and China will reach a favorable agreement. Therefore, the PS5 price hike could still be avoided in the best-case scenario.

AMD RX 9060 XT 16GB Leaked Benchmark Reveals Worse Performance Than RX 7700 XT

Story Highlight
  • The RX 9060 XT has been spotted online with new Geekbench scores.
  • The graphics card has achieved slower scores than the RX 7700 XT, a GPU just one tier higher during the last generation.
  • The new GPU could still be faster in specific games due to better ray-tracing and architectural advancements.

The AMD RX 9060 XT is set to arrive next week, following up on the largely well-received RX 9070 XT. Thanks to a 16GB variant priced at $350, AMD’s upcoming offering has the potential to make a huge dent in the mid-range PC gaming market.

Although AMD is also releasing an 8GB variant of the same graphics card, everyone is interested in the performance of the 16GB variant. On that note, a new leak suggests that the graphics card will fall short of the RX 7700 XT’s results.

Why it matters: Consumers typically expect newer graphics cards to outperform offerings from the previous generation’s higher tiers. In this case, the RX 7700 XT was just one tier higher than the RX 7600 XT, so the RX 9060 XT was expected to outperform it.

As spotted by Benchleaks on Twitter, the RX 9060 XT has appeared on Geekbench. When tested with the Vulkan API, the card attained a score of 124251, which put it ahead of the RX 7600 XT by 25%. However, this score was around 12% worse than that of the RX 7700 XT.

Similarly, the OpenCL score of 109315 put the RX 9060 XT behind the RX 7700 XT by 14%For a rough comparison, the RX 7700 XT scored 141288 and 127276 with the Vulkan and OpenCL APIs, respectively.

This comparison is interesting because AMD’s RX 7700 XT was considered a mid-range GPU for the masses. The RX 9060 XT is priced lower, but it should appeal to a similar market, and many expected it to at least match the RX 7700 XT’s performance.

9060 Specs
RX 9060 XT Official Spec Sheet via AMD

Although the benchmark does not directly indicate real-world performance, the RX 9060 XT will likely fall behind the RX 7700 XT in most scenarios. However, games that prefer newer architectures and ray-tracing workloads might run marginally better on the upcoming $350 GPU.

Although the result is certainly far from impressive, the RX 9060 XT still appears to be the best mid-range offering in the current market. It certainly looks a lot better than Nvidia’s $300 RTX 5060, which is limited to just 8GB of VRAM.

The Order 1886 Sequel Would Have Been More Ambitious With Bigger Battles

Story Highlight
  • The Order 1886 failed to make an impact, but the team wanted a highly ambitious sequel.
  • Plans for the sequel included bigger battles and multiplayer.
  • The studio focused on the gameplay aspect of the sequel compared to the cinematic presentation.

By the end of the generation, the PS4 became well-known for its first-party releases, but the console also had a few lesser-appreciated games during its first few years. Among them, The Order 1886 remains one of the more notable titles, with many agreeing that it had a lot of missed potential.

Although a sequel was cancelled against the developers’ wishes, they have shared a few plans for what the next game in The Order 1886 franchise would have been like. As per the studio, the sequel would have been more ambitious in multiple ways.

Why it matters: Although The Order 1886 failed to come out swinging, fans recognized that the franchise had potential. Many still believe it should receive a 60FPS upgrade for the PS5, signifying lingering interest in the IP.

Speaking to Julien Chieze, the game’s Creative Director discussed what shape a potential sequel would have taken.

As per his statement, the next game was set to expand the battles in The Order 1886. For the unaware, The Order 1886 attempted to deliver a movie-like experience, so the combat was very limited and linear.

As per Creative Director Ru Weerasuriya, the battles would be opened up for the sequel for a more gameplay-focused experience. The decision to add ‘bigger battles’ was also made to address much of the criticism regarding the game.

Moreover, the team intended to add multiplayer for the future release, further showing a commitment to gameplay over cinematics and storytelling.

The Order: 1886 Could Have Been Much Better

Unfortunately, The Order 1886 was lambasted widely upon release, so PlayStation did not feel the need to greenlight a sequel. The odds of a sequel happening went down further once hits like God of War and Spider-Man established a slate of iconic first-party titles for PlayStation to expand.

What are your thoughts on the studio’s ambitions for a sequel? Do you think the second game would have been better? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Bloober Team’s Cronos: The New Dawn Reportedly In The Works For Switch 2

Story Highlight
  • Cronos: The New Dawn marks Bloober Team’s next big horror game.
  • Reports reveal the studio is also working on a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game.
  • The team aims to release the game across all platforms on day one, and an announcement could be made soon.

Bloober Team gained a new level of recognition after the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake.

The developer is now looking toward the future and is already working on its next game. Cronos: The New Dawn marks Bloober Team’s next ambitious step in the horror genre, and reports claim that this particular title will also be released for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Why it matters: The Nintendo Switch 2 currently boasts extensive third-party support. Following the 150+ million sales of the original Nintendo Switch, developers see this platform as a huge opportunity for their games.

As per reliable leaker extas1s, a Nintendo Switch 2 port of the game is already being worked on. Bloober Team reportedly intends to release the game on all platforms simultaneously, but the insider is unsure whether this milestone will be achieved by 2025.

For context, Cronos: The New Dawn is expected to launch later this year. The game is currently listed for release on the PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC, but the Nintendo Switch 2 port could be announced soon.

Bloober Team has previously released past games like The Medium on the Nintendo Switch, so the team is likely well aware of this platform’s potential. As such, with a new Nintendo Direct rumored for June, an announcement could be closer than anticipated.

The game director has also discussed the possibility of an official port in the past, acknowledging that nothing is out of the realm of possibilities.

Cronos: The New Dawn
Cronos: The New Dawn Appears To Be A Visual Feast

For the unaware, Cronos: The New Dawn builds on Bloober Team’s experience with the horror genre. It aims to offer an intense atmosphere, gorgeous visuals, and an unsettling experience that will stay with horror fans long after the credits roll.

The game also takes inspiration from iconic titles like Resident Evil, Alan Wake, and Dead Space.

What do you think about the studio pursuing a Nintendo Switch 2 port for its next title? Let’s discuss it in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Resident Evil And Devil May Cry Alum Hideki Kamiya Wants To Direct A Dino Crisis Title

Story Highlight
  • Hideki Kamiya, the creator of Bayonetta, wants to direct a Dino Crisis game.
  • The Devil May Cry and Resident Evil 2 director wants to give the IP a shot.
  • There has been massive fan interest in a new game, and Capcom has also been making silent moves to make it happen.

In the gaming world, Capcom arguably has some of the most historically influential and the widest variety of IPs in its vaults. The more popular ones, like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, consistently release new titles, while some are forgotten, like Dino Crisis.

The franchise has been dormant for over two decades despite massive fan demand, and now, even Hideki Kamiya has expressed interest in the IP.

Why it matters: One of Japan’s most popular auteurs expressing interest in a Dino Crisis revival could be the spark a new game in the franchise needs.

In a new interview with The MinnMax Show, one of the 69 questions asked Kamiya if he would like to direct a Dino Crisis game for Capcom. The Japanese developer seemed more than ready, saying he would love to give it a shot, while he had no interest in another Resident Evil game.

I’d love to give it (Dino Crisis) a shot.

-Hideki Kamiya

The former Platinum Games founder has had an illustrious career in the gaming industry, making titles like Bayonetta and Devil May Cry and directing Resident Evil, among many other critically acclaimed games. Hence, Dino Crisis in Hideki Kamiya’s hands would definitely be something to behold.

For the longest time, Capcom has been hinting at a return of the beloved dinosaur IP. A company survey stated that a Dino Crisis game could be possible, as the fan demand was there, while Capcom also stated in a recent report that it wants to bring back older IPs.

All that's left is Dino Crisis (Image by IMBD)
Dino Crisis has a strong fan base that still wants a new game.

There are concerns regarding whether Dino Crisis would work in the current gaming climate. Still, the interest cannot be faked, and the Japanese publisher has been making some silent moves to release a remake or a new title in the franchise, including a trademark and other surveys to measure fan interest.

Do you think Dino Crisis deserves a remake, and if so, should Hideki Kamiya direct it? Tell us in the comments below or head to the Tech4Gamers forum for discussion.

Battlefield 6 Reportedly Targeting 120 FPS On The PS5 Pro Console

Story Highlight
  • Early playtests reveal that Battlefield Labs runs at 120 FPS on the PS5 Pro.
  • Gameplay output was stable at 120 FPS with occasional drops during heavy destruction.
  • While every Battlefield Lab feature might not make it to Battlefield 6, including a 120 FPS mode suggests that DICE likely has plans for it.

Coming from such an immense failure as Battlefield 2042, DICE is returning to the drawing board and reworking some major aspects of the game. They also launched Battlefield Labs, a playtesting platform that will test new features and concepts for the upcoming Battlefield 6.

Many details for the game have been leaked through Battlefield Labs, and the most exciting one so far is the performance. It seems like Battlefield 6 will be targeting 120 FPS on the PS5 Pro console.

Why it matters: So far, only indie games have been able to target 120 FPS on consoles. The mid-gen refresh PS5 Pro hasn’t had the chance to prove its raw power, but it’s slowly beginning to, with Battlefield 6 becoming a huge benchmark for the console.

Next Battlefield Pre Alpha Gameplay Footage
Battlefield 6 Is Set To Define The “Future Of First-Person Shooters.”

One of the playtesters from Battlefield Labs has contacted MP1st to confirm that Battlefield 6 runs around 100-110 FPS even with destruction. The lowest dip was to the mid-80s, which was noticed just briefly.

However, Battlefield ran on 120FPS consistently for the most part, unless there was clutter and destruction elements on the screen. Frame dips were also quite rare, and the gameplay from the said footage ran with VRR enabled.

Battlefield Series
Battlefield 6 Releasing Before April 2026; Reveal Expected Soon.

For reference, Battlefield 2042 doesn’t have a 120 FPS mode for either of the current-gen consoles.

Battlefield 6 will be entirely different from Battlefield Labs, and EA will remove many features and elements from the final product as they see fit. As such, there’s a possibility that the 120 FPS mode might not make it to the final release.

Still, adding such a huge gameplay mode and removing it from the final release wouldn’t make sense. Moreover, the PS5 Pro is certainly capable of such an output, combined with the PSSR technology.
