Final Verdict—What We Recommend?
RTX 4080 Super: This card is excellent and does a commendable job, whether it is in gaming or productivity. But we think its price is still high. In a year, its price has skyrocketed even more than its direct equivalent, the RX 7900 XTX, which shares almost the same raw performance.
RTX 5070: This card isn’t bad per se, but its future price could be either a deal-breaker or a deal-maker. The RTX 5070’s performance is very similar to that of the RTX 4070 Super. But if the former’s price exceeds the latter, it won’t be of any value, and then the RTX 4070 Super would become a better option.
When comparing the RTX 5070 with the RTX 4080 Super, the RTX 5070 appears to be a more budget-friendly option. If its price doesn’t hike too much, we recommend it for people with budget constraints. The RTX 4080 Super is a better option for people who want higher performance, especially with ray-tracing enabled.
The RTX 4080 Super is a much better option to use a 144Hz monitor at 1440p. However, you have to lower the settings for some games to achieve that 144 FPS mark. The RTX 5070’s performance can be compared to the RTX 4070 Super from Nvidia and RX 7900 GRE from AMD. Although the RTX 5070 is heavily focused on AI and has the newer DLSS 4, the RTX 4080 Super is still a better option for future-proofing because of its higher performance. The RTX 4080 Super shines better in ray-tracing when compared to the RTX 5070. We observed that it performed quite well even more than it did with ray-tracing disabled. The RTX 5070 isn’t comparable to the RTX 4090 with DLSS. This is just a marketing gimmick. Even if in some games it did perform similarly, the image quality wouldn’t be the same.FAQs
