For context, when the game debuted on PS5 and PC, it sold a combined 1 million copies in its first three days. So to see the Xbox version reaching nearly the same number in less than a week highlights just how strong the demand still is.

It’s also worth mentioning that Helldivers 2 was the best-selling PC game in the EU in 2024. That further supports the idea that PC is the dominant platform for the game so far.

While these Xbox sales numbers are impressive, it’s important to remember they come from an analytics firm and are estimates, not official figures. So while they’re likely close, they should still be taken with a grain of salt.

Team Fortress 3 Is Moving Forward In Production, New Evidence Reveals

Now, credible Valve insider Tyler McVicker says he is straight up confident that Valve is moving forward with Team Fortress 3 production. After months of accumulating evidence, new datamined info shows that the devs are working on a project codenamed ‘TF.’ 

Why it matters: Valve’s secret development of a Team Fortress 2 sequel could catch the entire fandom off guard if the datamined proof is to be believed, considering it is also actively developing at least one major entry.

As explained in the video, Valve has allegedly added new features to the Source 2 engine for game development of an entire project, specifically codenamed ‘TF.’

The new feature is an overhaul of the decal system, which can basically allow Valve to bring over TF2 assets to Team Fortress 3, possibly as placeholders. 

[Valve is] working on a new Team Fortress game. We now have more evidence that not only is the team still together, the project is still moving forward—but the game is moving forward in production.

The codename matters because Valve is known to be consistent with them over the years; the company has used specific codenames for Deadlock and the rumored Half-Life 3 game, for example.

Team Fortress 2 still has an active community after all these years.

Regardless, Team Fortress 3’s release is at least half a decade away since it is reportedly only entering full production now. However, the insider claims Valve may push a playable build two years ahead of launch if it follows the Deadlock strategy.

It is worth noting that these internal developments may end up being an anticlimactic back-end update, so it is best to take the datamined info with a grain of salt.

Secure Boot May Render RTX 30-Series and Older GPUs Inoperable After 2026

However, the requirement brings its fair share of problems. New information suggests that GPUs, as new as the RTX 3080 ti, could be soft-bricked after June 2026, when the Microsoft UEFI CA 2011 certification expires.

Why it matters: While the Secure Boot requirement is a hassle for gamers, it is a big step in the fight against cheaters. That said, developers were short-sighted and couldn’t see the problems it could bring in the future.

Every GPU has a small piece of firmware in its VBIOS called GOP. Secure Boot verifies the certificate with which the GOP is signed before loading the OS.

All GPUs made before 2023 were signed to the Microsoft UEFI CA 2011 certification, which expires in June next year. As such, cards as new as the RTX 30-series may not work with Secure Boot after the expiry.

As stated on the official Microsoft support page:

When the 2011 certificates expire, Windows devices that do not have the new 2023 certificates can no longer receive security fixes for pre-boot components, compromising Windows boot security.

Secure Boot would then block the GOPs with the expired certificate, failing to load the OS. However, the BIOS menu would still appear, and users could disable Secure Boot to load the OS.

It’s also important to note that this issue would affect AMD cards, too, all the ones that were signed with the Microsoft UEFI CA 2011 certification.

The only possible solution right now is for manufacturers and vendors, such as Asus, MSI, and others, to release a new VBIOS update for all these GPUs that are signed with the new 2023 certificate.

Another solution is to manually trust the SHA hash of your GOP ROM before the Microsoft UEFI CA 2011 certification expires. UEFI GOP updaters can refresh certificates and find a compatible GOP update.

Nvidia Reportedly Scaling Back RTX 50-Series 8GB GPU Production Amid Weak Sales

In an interview with Wccftech, Mateusz explains that Rebel Wolves is familiar with stuttering issues that can occur in The Blood of Dawnwalker due to the older UE5 version. Therefore, it is using ‘out-of-the-box’ solutions to ensure top-notch performance. 

We are using out-of-the-box Unreal solutions, but we also have a lot of our own code that our programmers basically rolled on top of the Unreal code.

These custom solutions are precisely why Rebel Wolves is unable to switch over to Unreal Engine 5.6. Moreover, transitioning to newer UE5 versions during development can be challenging, as it may break code unexpectedly.

We have these custom solutions that might not be compatible.

The Blood of Dawnwalker will hit the beta stage soon; the game is in a playable state from start to finish. That said, Rebel Wolves is still working on many features, like visuals and combat.

PS5 Prices Are The Limiting Factor For Game Sales, Claims Capcom

Capcom is one of the most successful gaming studios in the industry. The company marked its 12th consecutive profitable year in 2025, following the huge sales of Monster Hunter: Wilds. However, it says that there is a massive barrier to increasing sales. 

Capcom says that PS5 prices are a primary limiting factor for game sales. The cost of the console is significantly higher than what younger generations can afford, creating a barrier that also affects game sales. 

Why it matters: PS5 prices are already higher in Japan, but the recent increase in the MSRP has made it even further out of people’s reach, considering the limited buying power, especially among youth.

Capcom president, Haruhiro Tsujimoto, in a recent interview, was asked about the company’s goals and future planning. Replying to the question of how they manage to meet sales expectations, he attributed it to high console pricing. 

We also found that the “PS5 barrier” is unexpectedly large. It costs about 80,000 yen. When you factor in the cost of software and monthly subscriptions, it comes to about 100,000 yen.

He particularly talked about the PS5 because it has now become the default console for most consumers. To tackle this, they opt for a digital policy that allows them to put games on sale; however, the console pricing factor remains. 

The Switch 2 costs significantly less; therefore, the response is a lot better. Nonetheless, Capcom is working through it and devising additional strategies to reach as many people as possible with its titles.
