The best way to measure the performance of graphics cards is their gaming benchmark. For Nvidia RTX 4080 vs AMD RX 6900 XT, we have examined the criterion of 12 games that demand high performance. These benchmarks are divided into two series, each with six rounds. The test PC was different for each string, and the separate person drew their bars. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
A game with an extreme GPU requirement, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, is one of the best to gauge graphic card performance.
The minute we sampled how well the two GPUs were working, the RTX 4080 was making a better of 100 FPS in contrast to 75 FPS by RX 6900 XT. That stunning FPS lead of 33.3% by RTX 4080 is impressive.

The RX 6900 XT required more time per frame, taking roughly 13.0 milliseconds compared to the RTX 4080’s 10.0 milliseconds. A smaller frame time is always preferable for gaming.
The RX 6900 XT worked at an optimal temperature of 80 °C, whereas the RTX 4080 showed 76 °C in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. When it comes to workload, the RTX 4080 had a 1% lower GPU load than the RX 6900 XT.
The RTX 4080 was outputting a greater of 73 FPS compared to the 50 FPS by RX 6900 XT in the split-second test we conducted to compare the performance of the two GPUs. The fact that both cards in Cyberbunk 2077 have significantly lower frame rates than in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla suggests that the game is heavier.
The RTX 4080 once again earned the higher FPS cap of 120 FPS in this playtime, as opposed to the RX 6900 XT’s maximum of 70 FPS. The lowest levels for both graphics cards were the same at 37 frames per second. RTX 4080 is spectacularly advanced in terms of maximum frame rates.
Compared to the RX 6900 XT, which could only manage an average frame rate of 54, the RTX 4080 offered 78 FPS. The RTX 4080 produced 24 more frames per second, or around 45% more on average, compared to the RX 6900 XT’s performance.

The RX 6900 XT needed more time per frame, taking about 19.3 milliseconds as opposed to the 12.0 milliseconds frame duration of the RTX 4080. RX 6900 XT’s frame time is significantly higher than RTX 4080’s, making the latter more ideal for gaming, especially Cyberpunk 2077.
The RTX 4080 displayed 73 °C, whereas the RX 6900 XT served at a more increased temperature of 76 °C. The temperature of two GPUs is slightly lower in Cyberpunk 2077 than in the previous game.
The GPU load on RTX 4080 was only 85%, while RX 6900 XT had a 98% load. The RTX 4080 was reckoning the more brutal game to be gentle based on the 13% less GPU load, which is a pretty significant number.
God Of War
In the instantaneous test of the performance of the two GPUs, the RTX 4080 was producing more FPS, 101, compared to the RX 6900 XT’s output of 70.
In God of War, the RTX 4080 once more obtained a higher FPS cap of 255 FPS as opposed to the RX 6900 XT’s maximum of 212 FPS. The load on both graphics cards was very high in this gameplay. The RX 6900 XT was at 99% load, whilst the RTX 4080 was under 98% load.
Talking about the GPU temperature, both the graphics card were working at the same temperature of 81 °C. The temperature of both GPUs is relatively higher in God of War compared to the temperatures of two GPUs in Cyberpunk 2077.
Horizon Zero Dawn
The RTX 4080 generated 123 FPS which is about 50% higher than the 81 FPS delivered by the RX 6900 XT in the instantaneous performance test of the two GPUs.
The RTX 4080 has again achieved a higher FPS ceiling in Horizon Zero Dawn, 207 FPS, as fought to the RX 6900 XT’s top of 141 FPS.
Regarding the game’s lowest FPS, this was the first game in which the RTX 4080 achieved the lower FPS limit of 37. Here the RX 6900 XT had a frame rate of 39, which is 2 FPS greater than the FPS supplied by the RTX 4080.
Contrary to the RX 6900 XT’s average frame rate of just 83, the RTX 4080 offered a higher average performance of 126 FPS. The RTX 4080 produced around more than 50% more average FPS than the RX 6900 XT.
The RX 6900 XT used about 13.8 ms of time for each frame as opposed to the RTX 4080’s 7.6 ms. In Horizon Zero Dawn, the RTX 4080 displayed a remarkable time efficiency of around 82% per frame over the RX 6900 XT.
In this gameplay, both graphics cards were under a lot of strain. The RX 6900 XT was performing at 99% load. However, the load on RTX 4080 was 94% in Horizon Zero Dawn. The load on RX 6900 XT stayed the same as in God of War. On the RTX 4080, regardless, the stress was reduced by 5%.

Red Dead Redemption 2
The RTX 4080 was making 111 FPS instantaneously, which is nearly 60% more than the RX 6900 XT’s 70 FPS.
In RDR 2, the RTX 4080 has once more outperformed the RX 6900 XT’s 172 FPS, with a peak of 247 FPS. The RX 6900 XT had a minimum frame rate of 37, which is 12 FPS less than the RTX 4080’s minimum FPS of 49.
The average frame rate of the RTX 4080 was 108 FPS, in contrast to the RX 6900 XT’s limited 66 average FPS. About 65% higher average frame rate produced by the RTX 4080 makes it win the FPS battle in Nvidia RTX 4080 vs. AMD RX 6900 XT.
The RTX 4080 used 7.2 ms for each frame, but the RX 6900 XT used roughly 14.6 ms. The RTX 4080 outperformed the RX 6900 XT in time efficiency in Red Dead Redemption 2 by more than 100%.
Both graphics cards were put through a lot of stress throughout this gameplay. At 95% load, the RX 6900 XT was functioning well. And the load on the RTX 4080 was 95%.
During Red Dead Redemption 2, both GPUs had much higher temperatures. The RX 6900 XT reached a temperature of 82 °C, and the RTX 4080 reached a temperature of 81 °C.
Watch Dogs Legion
When we took the instantaneous performance readings, the RTX 4080 was producing 98 FPS, while the RX 6900 XT was turning over 60 FPS.
The RTX 4080 once again beat the RX 6900 XT’s max of 88 FPS in Watch Dogs Legion, reaching a peak of 126 FPS. If we compare these values with the performance of 2 GPUs in RDR 2, the max values have decreased mostly.
For the second time, the RTX 4080 reached lower FPS figures in the first series. A minimum frame rate of 34 FPS was delivered by the RTX 4080, while the minimum FPS provided by RX 6900 XT was 40.
The RTX 4080 had a higher average frame rate of 88 FPS than the RX 6900 XT, which was only capable of 62 FPS on average during the whole gameplay. The RTX 4080 produced about 42% more average FPS than RX 6900 XT.
The RX 6900 XT consumed approximately 16.7 ms per frame compared to the RTX 4080’s 8.9 ms for each frame. Again the RTX 4080 has better frame time efficiency in Watch Dogs Legion.
The RX 6900 XT was working at a high load of 98%, while the RTX 4080 was under only 81% load. When comparing the two GPUs’ loads, the RX 6900 XT was 17% more loaded than the RTX 4080.
The temperature of two graphics cards during Watch Dogs Legion was significantly lesser than that in RDR 2. The RTX 4080 had a temperature of only 69 °C, while the RX 6900 XT had 76 °C. According to its load and temperature, the RTX 4080 handled Watch Dogs Legion quite easily.
Second Series Benchmarks
This series will feature performances by Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 vs. AMD RX 6900 XT in “A Plague Tale: Requiem, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, F1 22, Forza Horizon 5, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy”. A Plague Tale: Requiem
In A Plague Tale: Requiem, both the graphics card were yielding very low frame rates. Their average and even maximum FPS were lower than 100. This proves “A Plague Tale: Requiem” to be highly GPU-extensive.
The instantaneous FPS provided by RTX 4080 was 58, while RX 6900 XT was providing only 39 FPS. The 1% low frame rates of RTX 4080 and RX 6900 XT were 49 and 34 in the game, respectively.
To evaluate the overall performance shown by 2 graphics cards in A Plague Tale: Requiem, the RTX 4080 made average of 55 FPS, while the average was 38 FPS for RX 6900 XT. Even if FPS is lower, but still RTX 4080’s average performance was nearly 45% better than RX 6900 XT.
The frame time of RTX 4080 was 17.3 ms, while the time consumed was 25.4 ms per frame for RX 6900 XT.
The power being consumed is a crucial consideration when discussing the performance of two graphics cards. During playtime, the RTX 4080 was consuming higher power of 314 watts in comparison to RX 6900 XT’s 299 watts power.
The RTX 4080’s temperature in “A Plague Tale: Requiem” was 64 °C, whereas the AMD RX 6900 XT’s was 79 °C. A 15 °C difference is a significant one. It is clearly stated that the game was quite strenuous for the RX 6900.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
The RTX 4080 delivered 100 instantaneous FPS, while RX 6900 XT only managed to deliver 74. In COD: Modern Warface, the 1% low frame rates for the RTX 4080 and RX 6900 XT were 94 and 69, respectively.
The RTX 4080 produced an average frame rate of 104 FPS, while the RX 6900 XT produced an average frame rate of 80 FPS. The FPS delivered by both graphics cards has increased by two-fold from “A Plague Tale: Requiem” to “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2”.
While the RX 6900 XT required 13.4 ms per frame, the RTX 4080 only required 10.1 ms. So, the RTX 4080 was completing each frame with a time efficiency of 33% in this game.
The RTX 4080 used more power while playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, 306 watts as opposed to 300 watts for the RX 6900 XT. The power consumption difference between the two GPUs has decreased from the first to the second game of the series.
In gameplay, the RTX 4080’s temperature was 64 °C, whereas the AMD RX 6900 XT’s was 75 °C. The temperature of RX 6900 XT has dropped by 4 °C in COD: Modern Warfare.
In F1 22, the RX 6900 XT managed to produce 145 instantaneous FPS compared to the RTX 4080’s 170. And the 1% low frame rates for the RTX 4080 and RX 6900 XT were 99 and 112, respectively. The 1% low FPS provided by RX 6900 XT is better in this game.
The RX 6900 XT delivered an average frame rate of 137 FPS, whilst the RTX 4080 generated a frame rate of 170 FPS on average. The margin of 37 FPS favors RTX 4080 in the FPS race between Nvidia RTX 4080 vs. AMD RX 6900 XT.
The average performance of both graphics cards is better in this game compared to that in the first two games of this (second) series. All types of FPS have improved significantly from “A Plague Tale: Requiem” to “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” and then to “F1 22”.
The RTX 4080 used only 5.6 ms per frame compared to the RX 6900 XT’s 6.7 ms. The frame time has also reduced in F1 22.
This game required 309 watts from the RTX 4080 as opposed to 300 watts from the RX 6900 XT. The RTX 4080 functioned at 63 °C during gameplay, while the AMD RX 6900 XT worked at 69 °C. The temperature of RX 6900 XT has dropped in F1 22 also.
Forza Horizon 5
When compared to the RTX 4080’s 110 instantaneous frames per second in Forza Horizon 5, the RX 6900 XT was able to deliver 74. And for the RTX 4080 and RX 6900 XT, the 1% low frame rates were 72 and 64, respectively. The RTX 4080 has improved its 1% low FPS performance in this game.
While the RTX 4080 produced an average frame rate of 103 FPS, the RX 6900 XT produced 69 FPS on average. The performance of RTX 4080 was 50% better than RX 6900 XT.
In comparison to the 13.9 milliseconds frame time of RX 6900 XT, the RTX 4080 required only 8.7 milliseconds.
