In These Stormy Times, FromSoftware Is Still Striving For Grandeur

Story Highlight
  • The gaming industry’s full of soulless titles and massive layoffs these days.
  • Despite problems everywhere, FromSoftware stands out as it increases employee compensation.
  • The Souls creator delivers quality titles one after another and refuses to adopt anti-consumer practices.

Over the years, the video game industry has undergone many changes, some good and others not. Many big players of the past have deteriorated in some way or another; the example of Ubisoft is before you. However, one contestant withstood the test of time and continues to deliver greatness: FromSoftware.

Why it matters: We frequently see bad games and layoffs happening, but FromSoftware continues to deliver quality titles and care for its workers.

We Live In Troubled Times

It’s no secret to anyone that the video game industry is radically different now than it was a decade ago. Video game budgets spiraling out of control, lengthy development times, playing it extremely safe with tried-and-tested only, and the resulting mediocre sales of games have created a financial crisis.

The aftershocks of the COVID period can still be felt. Of course, some of these companies’ strategies are to blame for this stressful situation, but it doesn’t change the fact that countless people lost their jobs as we started seeing layoffs one after another. And they were even disrespected on top of that; my heart weeps for them.

With all of these massive lay-offs across the industry, do you think we're in some sort of "recession" period? And if so, how long do you think it'll last for?
byu/Keretor ingamedev

No one is safe from this chaotic situation. Even the largest companies around laid off innumerable people. These companies’ refusal to listen to people is worsening the situation. The brunt of some of these illogical decisions fell upon the employees cruelly laid off.

FromSoftware Stands Strong Still

While this worldwide crisis engulfs the world, there is one company that continues to deliver excellence not only for its consumers but its employees as well. I tip my hat to FromSoftware for remaining so full of quality and ingenuity and honoring the dedication of its workers.

In a recent announcement, FromSoftware announced a base pay raise for all its fresh graduate hires and increased the benefits for existing employees. It publicly acknowledged the efforts of everyone involved in building its masterpieces.

FromSoftware, Inc. announced that from April 2025, enrolled employees will receive an average basic salary increase of approximately 11.8%
byu/Turbostrider27 inGames

In an era when everyone is busy mismanaging their projects and when they fail miserably, laying off people who gave their all for every unfair order they received, FromSoftware is demonstrating how to get the best out of people. To achieve greatness, you need to win your staff’s cooperation, not their enmity.

No Compromise On Quality

It all makes sense when you see that these people have certainly earned this compensation, and FromSoftware recognises this fact. Mass layoffs and closures aren’t the only problems of today. The overall quality of titles has fallen drastically, too.

From microtransactions-infested messes to forced “political correctness” and other agendas people have grown to hate, gaming is moving in a very concerning direction; anti-consumer strategies have become common.

Anyone else feel the state of gaming has severely gone down?
byu/Sweaty-Award2501 injakanddaxter

Monotonous cinematic AAAs, live services, cash-grab remasters, pushing a certain mentality, all this has become the norm. On the contrary, look at FromSoftware. Has it ever delivered a game that was less than a masterpiece? It was the same back then, and despite the changing times, it still is today.

Every title FromSoftware has delivered shows dedication, effort, undeniable quality, and the complete absence of all the stuff gamers hate. This is what gaming ought to be. From non-linear Souls games to action-adventure titles and open worlds, FromSoftware hasn’t strayed from the right path once.

FromSoftware Setting A Much-Needed Example

Why force something the masses obviously hate? After doing something illogical like this, these companies start blaming gamers for their titles failing. How else do they expect people to react when they refuse to change despite overwhelming opposition?

However, I’ve never once needed to criticize FromSoftware for any such aspect. The Souls games speak for themselves. Armored Core was a different title yet perfect in every way, and the developer shocked the entire world with how amazingly detailed and enchanting its open world was in Elden Ring.

FromSoftware isn't the master of Souls only (Image by Steam)
FromSoftware isn’t the master of Souls only (Image by Steam)

And these games all were massive successes. They weren’t live services, P2W, forcing hated concepts, and still succeeded resoundingly

Not only does it release quality games one after the other, but it also cares for its employees and rewards their efforts. As unbelievable as it sounds, a company like this does exist, and it’s FromSoftware. This means that stuff like quality titles and due compensation are not impossibilities. If FromSoftware can do it, the entire industry has something to learn.

GeForce RTX 5090 Dual 16 Pin Connector Rumors Debunked

Story Highlight
  • Segotep is a relatively new Chinese manufacturer of power supplies that is gaining attention, particularly on Chinese social media platforms like Bilibili.
  • There are unconfirmed rumors about the GeForce RTX 5090 requiring two 16-pin connectors, but Segotep advises consumers not to worry and to wait till January.
  • Segotep collaborates with GPU manufacturers and is rumored to be working on the MEOW-themed RTX 50 series.

A relatively new player in the industry, Segotep is a Chinese manufacturer of power supplies. While many do not know about this particular brand, the manufacturer is quite often seen on Chinese social media.

Why it matters: Rumors like the dual 16 pin connectors for the upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 has led many users to reevaluate their power supply requirements.

Many users on Bilibili wanted to ask whether the RTX 5090, which purportedly includes two 16-pin power connectors, was a cause for concern. These rumors have not been confirmed yet.

Image Via: VideoCardz

Still, misleading rumors like these have caused some consumers to reevaluate the power supply they intend to buy. Remember that twin 16-pin (12V-2×6) specifications are uncommon in current power supplies.

Segoep said they have already seen the specs and shouldn’t worry about the GeForce RTX 5090’s power requirements. In addition, Segotep was also advised to wait until January. This brief note indicates that the RTX 5090 is planned to ship in January and does not have two 16-pin connectors.

Furthermore, Segotep has a reputation for collaborating with GPU manufacturers like Colorful with a MEOW theme. The company is rumored to work on next-generation systems, potentially even the MEOW RTX 50 series.

With its brief statement, Segotep seems to advise against upgrading your power supply to accommodate two 16-pin connectors. However, adapters would remain a viable choice in the event that it becomes mandatory.

Restricted Local Co-Op In Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Is A Blunder

Story Highlight
  • Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is here, and it’s as amazing as we wanted it to be.
  • The local co-op, however, is only limited to a single stage, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
  • Restricting local play to a bland, repetitive stage limits the game’s potential.

Dragon Ball is a legendary existence in this world. The anime that universally popularized the medium influenced countless works and delivered an unrivalled thrill. Akira Toriyama created a genuine titan. It’s sad to see him go, but at least his work is still alive and shaking the world.

A series as iconic as Dragon Ball was bound to be adapted into games, and so it did. Countless titles exist to date, and it’s only natural to have bad ones, but the series has some pretty impressive titles, too, with the latest addition being Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

Why it matters: Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is a brilliant game, but its local co-op is restricted to one empty stage, which gets boring pretty quickly and is a problem.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Is Beyond Amazing

Would you believe me if I said I still own and play Budokai Tenkaichi 3? That’s how much I adore this game; it was the pinnacle of Dragon Ball games for me. Now imagine my surprise when I saw that the game I’ve been seeking a revival for all my life suddenly appeared in an unbelievable state.

BT3 is still magnificent (Image by Tech4Gamers)
BT3 is still magnificent (Image by Tech4Gamers)

That first trailer for Sparking Zero where the BT3 showcase was followed by the new visuals very nearly killed me. I’ve been following this game ever since with the utmost dedication, hoping it honors its predecessor’s legacy, and I’m overjoyed that it did.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is Budokai Tenkaichi 4 in the truest sense. Even after 16 years, it perfectly embodies the soul of that legendary title and delivers a sensational experience that resonates deeply with fans of the original. It kept everything intact, down to the broken characters; I just can’t express my joy in words anymore.

The Limited Local Co-Op In Sparking Zero Bothers Me

I’ve already gushed over the game a lot, so let me put on the logic cap for a moment and look at its flaws. First is how it handles story mode with a slideshow, which is less than ideal, but at least the shocking What If scenarios make up for it.

What If scenarios are truly well done (Image by Tech4Gamers)
What If scenarios are truly well done (Image by Tech4Gamers)

The most important point for criticism is the local co-op. I don’t think I need to tell you just how important it was for Budokai Tenkaichi 3 back in the day. Yes, Sparking Zero features online play as compensation, but local co-op is just as important.

Wait, this doesn’t mean Sparking Zero has entirely omitted local co-op. No, it still has it, but in a very limited fashion, which is hurting it.

Local multiplayer is officially announced with one STUPID catch
byu/Superzayian9 inSparkingZero

Hyperbolic Time Chamber Is A Bland Stage

So, how exactly is local co-op limited? One of Sparking Zero’s greatest selling points is how it takes environmental destruction to the extreme. These flashy animations and destructive effects are a key part of the Dragon Ball franchise, and Sparking Zero understands this.

Wait, you can destroy stages?!
byu/Ravenloveit inSparkingZero

However, in local co-op, you can only select one stage, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. An infinite space where you can do a year’s worth of training in one day sounds really cool in theory, but in the end, it’s just endless nothingness

That means no destruction, no flashy moves crushing through the terrain, no throwing your opponent through rocks, nothing. Hyperbolic Time Chamber is a dull stage that gets repetitive pretty soon.

This stage is pretty unimpressive (Image by Tech4Gamers)
This stage is pretty unimpressive (Image by Tech4Gamers)

I know this was done because flashy destruction is highly resource-intensive, especially in split screens. Still, if it means a varied and more entertaining local co-op, I don’t think anyone would’ve minded a little toned-down visuals.

One Stage Can Only Stay Fresh For So Long

Besides, even if it was an interactive stage, it’s only a matter of time before you get bored with one landscape. The local co-op is still loads of fun, but restricting it to one stage, and a bland one at that, is akin to self-sabotaging.

Even more so when you consider just how much of a resounding success Sparking Zero is. If this was an unknown title, my point wouldn’t have mattered as much.

People have already modded the game to enable local co-op on other stages, which shows it’s very much possible. Bandai Namco needs to consider it, too. Even if the visuals become slightly less impressive, extra stages are necessary. Variety is what will keep it alive for a long time.

Ex-PlayStation Boss Says Consoles Fighting Over Teraflops Pointless As Graphics Plateaued

Story Highlight
  • Shawn Layden believes the race for more powerful console hardware is redundant.
  • The former PlayStation boss says graphics have reached a plateau.
  • He emphasizes the need to place content before anything else.

Console manufacturers have long competed to produce the most powerful hardware possible. The PS5 Pro marks Sony’s latest attempt at outdoing its rivals, with the Xbox Series X previously boasting its position as the world’s most powerful console.

However, former PlayStation boss Shawn Layden sees this race as a fruitless endeavor. In a recent interview, he declared that console manufacturers need to stop their pointless pursuit of higher Teraflops.

Why it matters: Each gaming generation has brought a huge graphical uplift with it, but the same is difficult to say for the current generation.

PS5 Pro
Sony Unveiled The PS5 Pro Last Month

Speaking to VGC, Shawn Layden discussed the current state of gaming graphics and console hardware.

He emphasized that graphics have plateaued, and there isn’t much modern hardware can do to change that. The former PlayStation executive used ray tracing as an example and pointed out how this technology can be difficult to spot without the optimal conditions.

For these reasons, Shawn Layden believes that publishers and developers need to shift their approach to games fundamentally. As he points out, creativity and unique ideas are more important today.

We’re fighting over Teraflops, and that’s no place to be. We need to compete on content.

-Shawn Layden

Xbox Series S
Budget Hardware Might Become More Popular With Graphics Hitting A Plateau

The most interesting part about this statement is the fact that Nintendo seems to be doing just that. Seemingly ahead of the curve, the gaming giant stopped trying to outdo Xbox and PlayStation hardware over a decade ago.

Even the Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to sport modest hardware compared to the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X. As such, Nintendo will let its games do the heavy lifting.

Shawn Layden makes a solid point, and direct comparisons between the PS5 and PS5 Pro highlight exactly why he feels this way. Still, looking at Xbox’s comments about the next generation, it seems neither PlayStation nor Xbox intends to step away from this race anytime soon.

Black Myth: Wukong Ignited Years-Long Chinese AAA Game Revolution, Says Phantom Blade Zero Dev

Story Highlight
  • Black Myth: Wukong has been the biggest release in the Chinese market.
  • S-Game’s CEO believes it ignites a years-long Chinese AAA game revolution.
  • He believes Chinese developers have always wanted to deliver high-quality games but lacked expertise and technology.

Black Myth: Wukong is currently the biggest release of the year and the strongest contender for the GOTY title. It has also become the biggest launch from Chinese developers, selling over 10 million copies just three days after its launch.

However, the Phantom Blade Zero developer stated that the Western market has always influenced Japanese creators but didn’t have the right technology to make such games themselves in the past.

Why it matters: Black Myth: Wukong opened the door to a massive Asian market in the gaming industry, as many promising titles are soon to be released.

Black Myth: Wukong
Black Myth: Wukong Expansion Reportedly Coming Early 2025

During a recent interview with 4Gamer, S-Game’s CEO, Lian Qiwei, believed that the foundation of massive games from Chinese developers had been placed for a really long time.

When S-Game’s vice president, Michael Chang, was asked whether a trigger point made them enter the global console game market, he replied that Chinese developers always wanted to release high-quality games. Still, they didn’t have the technology before.

It’s not like Chinese developers got together and decided to release console games at the same time, but rather, we’ve wanted to make these kinds of games from the beginning.

-Michael Chang

He further says that now is the exact time when they are finally executing and could finally deliver high-quality games, which they have been wanting to achieve for a really long while.

Lian Qiwei talks about how Chinese developers’ years of experience doing outsourced development work for Western studios have contributed to their high level of expertise and matured them to work on their original titles.

Nonetheless, we believe the Chinese market has done amazing so far. This will bring more competition in the gaming industry, which is great for gamers as more quality games will be released in the coming time.

China Accounts For 40% Western & Japanese Games Sales, Says Phantom Blade Zero Dev

Story Highlight
  • Black Myth: Wukong’s massive sales in China aren’t that surprising after a recent reveal from the Phantom Blade Zero developer.
  • China alone accounts for 30-40% of Western and Japanese games sales, which is massive.
  • The developer used games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring as examples.

The video games industry is gigantic, and it seems like the industry is dominated by Behemoths from Western and Japanese developers/publishers. While that is somewhat true, Eastern gaming is on the rise.

China and Korea are both doing well with their recent releases, so we might see a sudden shift in their position. That said, the art director of Phantom Blade Zero recently revealed that China was into gaming long before Black Myth: Wukong came out.

This title only managed to ignite the spark, but even before that, 30-40% of the Western and Japanese games sales came from China

Why it matters: China has over 1.4 billion people, making it the second-largest country in terms of population. While accounting for 40% of game sales is surprising, it is quite possible.

Black Myth: Wukong DLC Confirmed
Black Myth: Wukong Sales From China Aren’t Surprising Anymore

Chang, the art director of Phantom Blade Zero, reveals in an interview with 4Gamer that even before Black Myth: Wukong, China was heavily involved in gaming. Of course, this game played a massive role, but as per Chang, China was already accounting for around 40% of sales for Western and Japanese games.

Even before Black Myth: Wukong came out, 30-40% of the sales of most major Japanese and Western games came from China.

-Chang

Phantom Blade Zero’s art director further reveals that this percentage was consistent, regardless of whether the game had a Chinese theme. He gave games like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Palworld, and Needy Girl Overdose as examples.

It’s a clear fact that China consistently accounts for at least 30-40% of sales.

So, even though China doesn’t have much experience when it comes to developing console or single-player PC games, it has been in the gaming industry for a long time. Also, it has a plethora of experience with mobile games, so that experience is definitely going to come in handy.

Not to mention Black Myth: Wukong has done wonders for the country, so more and more games are going to come out, and fans will be anticipating them.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Is Allegedly “Super Woke,” Reveals Playtester

Story Highlight
  • A Dragon Age: The Veilguard playtester has revealed that the game is allegedly super woke and full of forced pronouns.
  • The dialogue and the story are reportedly disappointing and the facial animation is like Mass Effect: Andromeda.
  • The feedback of playtesters was seemingly ignored, and remarks about wokeness were not allowed to be conveyed to devs.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has always been veiled by controversy ever since it was officially announced. Whether it’s the new art style or an allegedly woke direction, there’s always been something that has worried gamers about the upcoming sequel. However, all these fears have now seemingly been confirmed with great details, and they were not exaggerated at all.

A playtester has seemingly come forward to talk about the state of the game last year, confirming the “super woke” elements and unnecessary immersion-breaking modern language that makes no sense lore-wise.

Why it matters: If the words of the playtester are anything to go by, we might just have a disaster waiting to happen on our hands. Dragon Age: The Veilguard already appears to be quite different than its beloved predecessors, after all.

As spotted by Twitter user @Pirat_Nation, the prominent Dragon Age YouTuber Nuhre recently invited a playtester for a detailed dialogue who played a 2023 build. The tester—named John—reveals that Dragon Age: The Veilguard leans heavily into the woke territory in its gameplay, but that’s not the only problem. The game’s story and dialogues were also heavily criticized by the playtester.

“I was listening to the dialogue […] and it’s just disappointment after disappointment after disappointment.”

Many important characters in Dragon Age: The Veilguard have seemingly been pushed onto the sidelines, and the facial animations also make characters look quite uglier than we remember in previous games.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is shaping up to be a super messy experience, if the rumors are trusted | Image Source: Twitter

Another major thing the interview discusses is that John’s feedback was ignored. All his criticisms—including the mentions of modern woke language—weren’t allowed to be sent to devs.

Do take the rumors with a grain of salt. What do you reckon will be the fate of the controversial Dragon Age entry after it releases? Let us know your opinions in the comments section or discuss them on the official Tech4gamers forum.

Dragon Age Dev Mocks Gamers, Dismisses Feedback in Social Media Rant

Story Highlight
  • David Gaider from BioWare mocked gamers who criticized the female character designs in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
  • The developer ridiculed their preferences, suggesting they were influenced by anime or adult content.
  • Following the backlash from gamers, Gaider set his Twitter account to “protected” mode.

David Gaider, a writer for BioWare, recently spoke out on social media about the negative reactions to the design of female characters in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

In a series of posts, he made fun of gamers who say the women in the game aren’t “hot enough.” He called out their preferences, suggesting they are influenced by anime or adult content, and described these complaints as old-fashioned and troubling.

Why it matters: According to reports, Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s pre-orders are looking extremely poor, just a few weeks before launch. Mocking potential buyers will only make the situation worse for BioWare.

Dragon Age Developer Mocks Gamers
These tweets can’t be accessed anymore since David Gaider has set his account to ‘protected.’

One key point Gaider made was about how beauty standards in gaming have changed. He argued that players who criticize today’s female character designs are stuck in old ideas influenced by adult media and 18+ anime.

He pointed out that the world has moved on and that character designs no longer fit these “outdated preferences”.

This rant follows growing frustration among BioWare fans, who feel the developer is not listening to their feedback and is pushing them away. Many players believe the new character designs don’t match their expectations for Dragon Age, with some saying the characters appear too “masculine” or “unattractive.”

Many in the gaming community didn’t take David Gaider’s tweets well, with some accusing him and BioWare of being hostile to fans. This frustration reminds people of the backlash during the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda when fans felt their concerns were disregarded.

Dragon Age Developer Mocks Gamers
Another lead writer calls the critics the “worst people” in the world.

Some even compared this situation to that of former BioWare developer Manveer Heir, who faced criticism for openly speaking against the fanbase in the past.

Anyhow, after facing backlash, David Gaider has set his Twitter account to “protected” mode. Many fans are now wondering if they should keep supporting developers who seem openly hostile toward the gaming community.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Launches To Disappointing 1.5K Concurrent Players On Steam

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft has finally started to roll out its games on Steam after so many years.
  • Unfortunately, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has opened to just over 1500 CCU on Steam.
  • The move towards Steam is expected to boost Ubisoft sales for future releases.

As Ubisoft finally starts to release its games on Steam, Assassin’s Creed Mirage debuts on the platform after almost a year since its original launch. However, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has underwhelmed, with just over 1500 concurrent players on Steam

Why it matters: Ubisoft teams had been reportedly pushing for Steam releases for a very long time. After the recent poor performances of games like Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft finally decided to take the step.

AC Mirage records only 1500 CCU on the Steam launch

While Ubisoft might have hoped for a higher number, considering how big an IP Assassin’s Creed is, Mirage has only managed to top at 1543 concurrent players on Steam. This is despite the game launching with a 50% reduced price tag

The reviews aren’t that many either, but they are currently sitting at ‘very positive’. Mirage originally got mixed reviews from the audience and critics. It was a nice step towards the classical Assassin’s Creed formula, but the story wasn’t executed that well.

Mirage is a year old at this point and wasn’t a critical success, so huge Steam numbers weren’t expected anyway. However, with future Day 1 Steam releases like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft might be able to benefit more.

PlayStation ‘Gearing Up’ To Show More Marvel’s Wolverine, Claims Insider

Story Highlight
  • It has been a long since Insomniac revealed more information about its upcoming game.
  • Now, a reliable insider has claimed that Sony is gearing up to reveal some more stuff.
  • The insider couldn’t determine when it would happen, but he said it would happen this year and most likely at TGA.

Insomniac has become one of the fan-favourite studios, so the hype for its next game is pretty high. Marvel’s Wolverine has been in development for a while now, and it seems the developer has made quite a lot of progress

Just recently, a reliable insider revealed that Sony is gearing up to reveal more about the game.

Why it matters: It has been a long time since Insomniac revealed Marvel’s Wolverine, so fans have been dying to see something new regarding the game.

Insomniac Seems To Be Gearing Up To Show Off More Stuff From Marvel’s Wolverine

Kurakasis, a reliable leaker has claimed that Sony is ‘gearing up’ to show some more stuff about the game soon.

From my little digging, it looks like Sony is gearing up to show off some new stuff from Marvel’s Wolverine.

-Kurakasis

The insider also revealed that they couldn’t determine when it would happen, but they think it will happen this year. According to the insider, it could happen at TGA or at some unannounced, super-secret event.

It should also be noted that today, there is a Marvel Games presentation at NYCC, so it could also appear during this event. While it is unlikely this will happen, there are still slight chances.

Also, the leaker has proven to be right many times in the past, but we still recommend taking this information with a pinch of salt. Given that Sony or Insomniac have yet to say anything about the situation, it is better to wait for the official confirmation

Previously, a lot of Wolverine’s gameplay was leaked, revealing a playtime of 15 hours and a lot of parkour and stealth sections. The game also features real-time battle damage and healing. Also, Insomniac recently confirmed that it would push the limits of PS5 Pro.

While there is no official confirmation, Marvel’s Wolverine is expected to launch in 2025, so more information this year makes sense.

PC Picked As Fan Favorite Platform Over Consoles In Major Poll

Story Highlight
  • PC gaming is constantly growing, and new polls reveal insight into its current popularity.
  • The platform has been picked as the fan-favorite across multiple polls with thousands of voters.
  • PlayStation finished in second place in these polls.

There has always been a rivalry between console and PC players over which platform is better. While the former typically comes out on top due to its many hardware advantages, consoles are considered the more mainstream gaming option due to their accessibility.

However, PC gaming has grown remarkably in recent years, giving it more of a chance to rival consoles. In fact, major polls reveal that most gamers prefer the platform over consoles today.

Why it matters: The industry has evolved in multiple ways, and consoles no longer boast a clear lead over the competition.

PC Gaming
Major Poll From Gamsecom Reveals Interesting Results About Audience Preferences | Image via Twitter

Gamescom recently asked its followers to vote on the most popular gaming platforms. This included the big three console manufacturers and PC, with the latter coming out on top.

While the consoles combined still proved overwhelming for PC, this platform took the lead individually. With over 44% of the 2,685 votes, it secured a comfortable lead over PlayStation, which finished in second place with 32.3%.

Similar results were observed in different polls on Reddit, indicating that audiences enjoy the freedom of PC gaming over the limited capabilities of consoles. Still, it is important to note that these polls likely reflect the preferences of enthusiast gamers.

This is evident by the position of Nintendo’s hardware in the polls despite the Nintendo Switch selling well over 138 million units since its release.

Where do you mostly play video games on?
byu/Interesting-Crow8031 inpolls

Overall, it’s clear that PC gaming is on the rise worldwide. Even with the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X selling millions of units, both PlayStation and Xbox are releasing their titles on the platform.

The gaming giants see this market as a lucrative segment in which to expand their business and reach a whole new audience.

Gaming on PC typically comes with unique benefits like emulation, higher-end hardware, and a bigger library. This is just scratching the surface of everything the platform has to offer, so it has more than earned its popularity.
