Bluepoint Games Pitched 2 Remakes Before Closure But Both Were Rejected

Story Highlight
  • Bluepoint Games reportedly pitched four new projects, including two remakes, before its closure.
  • Two of these were remakes based on existing single-player PlayStation IPs.
  • PlayStation rejected the pitches, fearing the viability in the current market.

Following immense disappointment last week, Sony’s closure of Bluepoint Games has only now begun to set in. Many still believe this closure is a huge missed opportunity due to the current demand for remakes in the industry.

In fact, a report suggests that Bluepoint Games intended to make a remake for Sony not too long ago. The studio even pitched two remakes to Sony, both of which were rejected.

Why it matters: PlayStation has a huge back catalog of games from the PS2 and PS3 eras that could use the remake treatment, especially given that its own big-budget AAA releases take so long to come out now.

Bluepoint Games
The Studio Worked On Various Remasters And Remakes In The Past

According to Detective Seeds’ latest report after conversations with former employees, Bluepoint Games followed up on the cancellation of the God of War live-service project with multiple pitches to Sony.

The studio is said to have pitched as many as four titles, two of which were remakes based on single-player PlayStation IPs. According to the report, Sony believed neither of these games would succeed in today’s market and quickly rejected these pitches.

This became the final nail in the coffin for the studio since pressure was quickly mounting. The report outlines that the God of War cancellation and multiple pitch rejections led to dwindling morale within the team, and many developers had already left the studio by the time it was shut down.

Although the report did not specify which projects were picked for remakes by Bluepoint Games, the likes of Infamous, Sly Cooper, Motorstorm, etc. immediately come to mind as suitable picks. It is possible that the team even pitched remakes for the God of War Greek trilogy.

God of War 2
God of War Trilogy Could Have Been Remade By The Team

The report says that one of the two pitched remakes is now being worked on within Sony by a different studio. As such, it seems Sony has changed its mind on the viability of this project.

Although there is reason to believe that the aforementioned project is the remake of the God of War trilogy, this game may still be a mystery to the public. Anyhow, Bluepoint Games’ situation becomes even sadder knowing the fact that the team hoped to remake an existing PlayStation IP prior to being shuttered.

Xbox Staff Criticized Sarah Bond as “Tough to Work With,” Now Celebrate Her Exit

Story Highlight
  • Xbox leadership saw a major change when Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond stepped down from their CEO and president roles, respectively.
  • Later, it was revealed that these executives were forced out of their positions due to the gaming giant’s recent troubled performance.
  • Now, another report highlights Xbox staff’s discontent with Sarah Bond, calling her difficult to work with.

A couple of days ago, Microsoft dropped a huge bombshell: Phil Spencer is retiring as the CEO of Xbox, alongside Sarah Bond, who is also stepping down from her role as President of the gaming giant.

Further developments in this story revealed that these executives had actually been fired from their roles following Xbox’s struggles in the last couple of years. Another report has now revealed that Xbox staff didn’t actually like Sarah Bond‘s strategies and were pleased when she stepped down as president.

Why it matters: Staff discontent shows there was dissonance at Xbox. Hopefully, under new leadership, things will change, and Xbox will potentially bounce back.

Everything Is An Xbox
As Part Of The Same Strategy, The Gaming Giant Announced That It Will Be Competing Against Movies And TikTok

The Verge‘s Tom Warren reveals the internal condition at the gaming giant during the leadership change. Firstly, he revealed that “Everything is an Xbox” was Sarah Bond’s idea, but it wasn’t well-received by the staff.

In fact, most of the staff were “offended” by this idea. Moreover, Tom’s sources explained how tough Bond was to work with.

Tough to work with, and built a team structure that meant if you didn’t follow the vision or questioned it, you were out.

Bond was leading marketing at Xbox after key individuals in this department left Microsoft in recent years.

Next-Gen Xbox PC-Like Console Is Launching Late 2027

For reference, “Everything is an Xbox” was the gaming giant’s new motto, describing every device as an Xbox since they planned to expand the ecosystem beyond just a console.

Now, Asha Sharma has taken over Xbox as the new CEO. Asha has a lot to prove to fans filling in for Phil, and that challenge is only growing after it was revealed she has no gaming experience at all.

What are your thoughts on the new leadership at Xbox? Do you believe the gaming giant’s fate can still be steered, or is it too late? Let us know in the comments below, or at the official Tech4Gamers Forums.

Nova Lake-S Reportedly Slips to 2027 as Intel Faces Possible AMD Zen 6 Showdown

Story Highlight
  • Intel’s Nova Lake-S desktop CPUs may now launch in 2027 instead of 2026, with a reveal set for CES.
  • Intel could reveal gaming models earlier but save the full rollout, including Core Ultra 400S variants, for 2027.
  • The shift may be strategic, with Intel timing the launch to coincide with AMD’s Zen 6 and broader competition.

Previously, reports suggested a 2026 launch for the Nova Lake-S processors, but unfortunately, it seems we’ll have to wait a little while before getting our hands on Intel’s next-generation processors.

Insider Golden Ping Upgrade Pack believes that Nova Lake-S will ship in 2027. If this is true, it would put these processors head-to-head with AMD’s Zen 6 CPU launch, which is also happening next year.

Intel Nova Lake S Cache
Intel Nova Lake-S Will Have 5 Different Chipsets For Its Motherboards

While Nova Lake as an architecture could launch this year, it may not be available until 2027, because, unlike AMD, Intel is following two independent routes with its designs, splitting server and client into two distinct roadmaps and architectures. To quote the leaker directly:

Okay, Nova Lake S will also be released in 2027 , everyone’s in a hurry to get to CES .

The information presented here is relevant. It specifies the “S” model, which denotes a desktop with an LGA1954 socket, and references a launch rather than a demonstration, which will take place during CES next year. This tells us that there is no leaked information, only sheer guesswork.

According to rumors, Intel may release the Core Ultra Series 4, notably the Core Ultra 400S, later this year as planned to match its internal roadmap for partners and investors. Most likely, these processors may be unveiled at the next CES.

IntelPanther Lake Medusa Point Medusa BB Nova Lake Core Ultra 300 Core Ultra 400 roadmap 2025 2026 and 2027
AMD and Intel’s CPU Release Roadmap 2022-28

The alternative theory is similarly quite simple to understand. Intel could debut its Nova Lake-S CPUs for the K series in 2026, with only a short time between presentation and launch. In other words, it would present and launch gaming models this year, outperforming AMD and setting new game performance records, but save the major event for CES 2027.

The biggest attraction is the mobile sector, which includes laptops and portable consoles. In addition, they may release versions for gaming CPUs built on bLLC, i.e., with their huge in-die L3 cache.

We don’t know what the leak is referring to in this context, whether it’s the delay of all Nova Lake series processors until 2027, or if Intel would revise its internal plan with a presentation followed by a launch, as they did with Panther Lake.

In any event, with March approaching and no Arrow Lake-S Refresh in sight, it appears to lead to a 2026 presentation and a spectacular launch in 2027. If this is the truth, will they debut the Core Ultra 400S bLLC processors right away, or will we have to wait a few months? This may be highly dependent on what AMD does on the same occasion.

Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag Team Now In Charge of Leading The Series At Ubisoft

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft has named three developers in charge of leading Assassin’s Creed’s future.
  • This team includes the Assassin’s Creed 4 creative director, with the other two leaders also bringing experience from the game.
  • All in all, the French publisher is looking to franchise veterans to secure the IP’s future.

Following a series of major shakeups and changes, Ubisoft has established Vantage Studios’ Creative Houses and outlined its goal of making flagship IPs annual $1 billion franchises.

As the company works towards these goals, it has also outlined the new leadership in charge of steering Assassin’s Creed to new heights. The good news is that much of this team boasts experience with fan-favorite titles like Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.

Why it matters: Black Flag remains a popular title, being one of the last few universally beloved entries of the series before Ubisoft transitioned to the RPG model.

Ubisoft has named three key membersof the Assassin’s Creed brand today. Martin Schelling is the new Head of the franchise, with his previous experience including a role as Producer on Revelations, Black Flag, Origins, and more.

Jean Guesdon, the new Head of Content, previously directed both Assassin’s Creed 4 and Origins. However, he had already been a part of Ubisoft long before these games were created.

Finally, Francois De Billy, the future Head of Production Excellence, also brings experience from past titles, such as Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Black Flag. More recently, he worked on Assassin’s Creed Origins and Valhalla.

Looking at the team, Black Flag stands out as the common game that all three leaders contributed to. It’s only fitting that Ubisoft chose this team, given the fact that it is currently working on a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4.

As the French giant puts it, the same creatives that helped the series rise the ranks of gaming in the past will help it reach new heights moving forward.

Xbox Reportedly Considering Standalone Call of Duty Zombies Game For Next-Gen Hardware

Story Highlight
  • A new report suggests that Xbox is considering launching two separate Call of Duty titles next year.
  • One of these titles is said to be a standalone Zombies-focused game, which would be a first for the series.
  • Moving forward, Microsoft also wants Activision to focus less on annual releases for the franchise.

Much has changed for Xbox over the last two years. Between its multiplatform strategy and Activision joining the company’s first-party portfolio, Xbox has evolved rapidly, and things could change further with the arrival of the new CEO, Asha Sharma.

Much of the company’s future strategy remains a mystery for now, but it is said that 2027 will mark the arrival of a brand new console from the company. A reliable leaker also suggests that a new standalone Zombies-focused Call of Duty title could arrive from Xbox.

Why it matters: Zombies has evolved to become an integral part of Call of Duty over the years, but the game mode has never been given the premium treatment like the campaign and multiplayer modes.

Activision Call of Duty Zombies
Activision Could Launch A Standalone Zombies Game | Image via Twitter

This information comes from Ghost of Hope, a leaker who states that Xbox initially wanted to launch Modern Warfare 4 alongside its next console. For context, Modern Warfare 4 is expected to be the series’ mainline release this year, and Microsoft was previously rumored to be preparing for a next-gen launch in 2026.

The leaker further notes that Xbox is now contemplating releasing two Call of Duty titles next year to coincide with the arrival of the next generation of its consoles. This approach for Call of Duty would mimic the simultaneous launch of Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered.

According to Ghost of Hope, the two titles in question would be based on standalone multiplayer and zombies experiences, with Treyarch leading the charge on the latter.

The idea of two two Call of Duty games launching with the next Xbox has been floating around.

Black Ops 7
Black Ops 7 Was A Disaster For Activision And Microsoft

The leaker further hints that Microsoft is not as interested in the yearly Call of Duty release cycle moving forward. Instead, the company might push for a greater focus on longevity for Call of Duty experiences through regular updates and support.

New Xbox Head’s Gaming Profile Was Created Earlier This Year But Shows Suspiciously Fake Achievements

Story Highlight
  • Players are wary of the new Xbox’s head gaming activity based on her profile.
  • She unlocked many achievements over a short period, which is rather suspicious.
  • The profile seems too buffed for an account that was just created last month.

There have been lots of talks about the new Xbox head after Phil Spencer retired from the company after 38 years. For one, she doesn’t have any gaming roots, and a new development is also making fans weirdly suspicious about her.

Asha Sharma’s gaming profile was created earlier this year, but it has many achievements that seem suspicious to get this quickly, which has led to the question if they’ve been fabricated to gain credibility.

Why it matters: Sharma recently revealed her top 3 games, and the answers seemed really artificial, and people have been wondering if she is actually a gamer or just trying to pose as one.

Sharma Xbox Profile
Players are skeptical about Asha Sharma’s gamer profile

Sharma shared her Gamertag on X. She unlocked her first achievement on Januray 15, which suggests that the account was created around that time too. Surprisingly, in a short period, she already has over 10,000 Gamerscore.

Furthermore, she has 100% in Firewatch and 98% on Ball X Pit, the latter of which she played for 43 hours in just a week. Sharma also has some rare Minecraft achievements that take years to unlock.

Sharma Achievements
She has unlocked many achievements that are difficult to get in a short time

She has also been bouncing between random games, typically bigger Xbox names like Fallout, Halo, Forza, and more. Funnily, a user suggested Borderlands 2 to her, and her profile shows she immediately jumped into it.

Players are now accusing that her profile is artificially buffed to resonate with the fans and make Asha Sharma a credible appointment. Sharma did say she is starting on a lot of games, but doing this much this quickly is suspicious.

The Global Subsidy Race: How Your Tax Dollars Are Paying for TSMC’s and Intel’s Profits

Story Highlight

  • High-profile subsidy acts like the U.S./EU CHIPS Acts are based on profit/loss-sharing agreements that result in little upside for the end consumers.
  • Semiconductor giants like TSMC lure the governing bodies into a repetitive cycle of issuing subsidies based on the establishment of the original fabs.
  • These subsidies vaguely promise thousands of job openings, but a majority of these positions are usually filled in by outsourced specialists, rather than training local employees.

You might have heard the triumphant news.

Governments across the Western world are throwing hundreds of billions of dollars at semiconductor companies.

For starters, the United States passed its CHIPS Act, pouring more than $50 billion into domestic chip production.

Subsequently, the European Union approved its own €43 billion Chips Act back in the first half of 2023.

Japan’s embracing the trend as well by subsidizing Rapidus and TSMC.

Even China’s trying to attain self-sufficiency when it comes to manufacturing semiconductor chips.

The headlines all scream the same thing: we are bringing chip manufacturing home.

It sounds like a patriotic victory for national security and technological sovereignty.

But I have looked under the hood of these deals.

What I found is not a story of public investment for the common good.

On the contrary, it is a story of the most lucrative corporate welfare scheme in modern history.

These are not simple grants.

They are complex financial instruments designed to guarantee profitability for the world’s richest semiconductor giants, using your tax dollars as the safety net.

And the benefits trickling down to you? They are vanishingly thin.

The Fine Print: Profits Are Guaranteed, Losses Are Socialized

Let us start with the heart of the matter: the profit guarantee clause.

These subsidy agreements are not straightforward.

They include provisions that fundamentally alter the risk equation for companies like Intel and TSMC.

Consider the terms buried in the fine print.

For instance, TSMC’s $6.6 billion subsidy package for its Arizona expansion includes what the government calls an “upside sharing” agreement.

If the company’s revenues and profits from the new plants soar “well above projections,” they have to give a portion back to the government.

Sounds fair, right? But flip that coin.

What if the fab operates at a loss?

What if costs overrun, demand softens, or operational inefficiencies pile up?

Well, the deal does not ask TSMC to shoulder that burden alone.

That’s because the government effectively covers it.

How? The subsidies, the low-interest loans, the tax breaks all combine to create a floor beneath which the company’s profits cannot fall.

This is the fundamental inversion of capitalism.

Profits, when they come, are private. They flow to shareholders and executives.

Losses, should they materialize, are public. They are absorbed by the taxpayer.

We have become the silent underwriters of the semiconductor industry’s balance sheet.

The Local Impact Myth: Where Are The Jobs For Local Workers?

Unfortunately, the most persistent and misleading argument for these subsidies is the promise of local jobs.

Politicians love to stand in front of construction sites and tout the “thousands of high-tech jobs” they are creating.

The reality on the ground is far more complex.

Academic research from the National Bureau of Economic Research confirms that the CHIPS Act is creating jobs, roughly 15,000 to 16,000 direct positions in the semiconductor sector.

Even though Biden administered the CHIPS Act, Intel has now amended the terms of the original deal to access $5.7B sooner than planned for a total investment of $11.1B as of yet. (Image Credits - Kevin Lamarque, Reuters)
Biden administered the original CHIPS Act that approved a $7.86B Funding Award to Intel. (Image Credits – Kevin Lamarque, Reuters)

That sounds positive, and it is, to a point.

But look closer at who fills those roles.

The jobs being created are for highly specialized engineers and technicians.

These are not positions you can fill by retraining a local retail worker over a weekend.

For example, TSMC itself has a deeply Taiwanese corporate culture; nearly 90% of its global employees and management are Taiwanese.

Meanwhile, the billions spent on subsidizing one company could have been invested in public infrastructure, community college training programs, or small business grants across dozens of communities.

The Bottom Line: A New Era Of Corporate Welfare

Therefore, we must reframe how we see these massive subsidy packages.

They are complex deals designed to ensure that even if the private sector cannot make the math work, the public sector will step in to close the gap.

The semiconductor industry is vital, yes. National security concerns are real.

But the current model, with its profit guarantees, endless subsidy escalations, and inflated job promises, is a raw deal for the taxpayer.

We are paying for the factories, underwriting the risk, and then expected to cheer when the companies post record profits.

It is time to demand more transparency, more accountability, and a guarantee that this public investment actually serves the public interest, not just the corporate bottom line.

New Xbox CEO Seemingly Using AI For Social Media Responses After Promising No “Soulless AI Slop”

Story Highlight
  • The new Xbox CEO, Asha Sharma, appears to be using an AI bot for her social media responses.
  • Her statements referencing commonly used memes, Xbox’s multiplatform push, etc., have raised eyebrows for AI use.
  • The executive’s AI background also supports this theory, leading many to believe a bot is handling her Twitter account.

Xbox Head Phil Spencer has now stepped down from his position, and Asha Sharma is set to replace him as the CEO of Microsoft’s gaming division. The new CEO comes from a primarily AI-focused background, but she has promised to refrain from chasing AI slop for short-term gains in the gaming industry.

Many have appreciated the new CEO’s stance on this matter, but her social media responses seem to contradict it. Asha Sharma appears to be using AI to respond to fans‘ queries regarding games and the future of Xbox.

Why it matters: AI has become an increasingly controversial topic in the games industry, and this latest discourse revolving around the new Xbox CEO has only added fuel to the fire.

Asha Sharma AI Responses Social Media
Asha Sharma Appears To Be Sharing AI Responses on Social Media

When Asha Sharma was named the new CEO of Xbox, many questioned her passion for the games industry.

She quickly alleviated the situation by naming Halo, Valheim, and GoldenEye 007 as her favorite titles, but evidence suggests this response may have been AI-generated. In fact, most, if not all, of her Twitter responses appear to have been generated by AI.

Responding to Twitter user Smash JT’s gif referencing the popular Tom Hardy meme from Mad Max, Asha Sharma responded, “Top 3 Mr. Hardy?” This response raises eyebrows and indicates AI use, as it references Tom Hardy rather than Smash JT, which is expected of a bot.

In the very next response, the Xbox CEO thanked him for a detailed answer in a manner that can only be described as very AI-like. Even her latest tweet, asking gamers for their top 3 favorites, uses an emoji commonly associated with AI chatbots like ChatGPT.

Add to this the fact that Goldeneye 007 is more or less never referred to as 007, and it does appear like the current Xbox chief is using AI to respond to fans on social media. Many suspect that she has set up a dedicated bot for her Twitter account.

Great list. I did my top 3 in another reply. Halo, Valheim, 007. It’s been a long time since I played Chrono Trigger. Have you done every ending? Thanks for all the detail. I appreciate it a ton.

Her recent teaser about exclusivity seems AI-generated, given Xbox’s clear push for multiplatform games over the last two years.

These suspicions are, of course, valid due to Asha Sharma’s background in AI. For context, she previously worked as the President of the CoreAI Product at Microsoft.

China’s RAM Prices Nearly Match Global Market as 32GB DDR5 Crosses $500

Story Highlight
  • Chinese memory manufacturers were tipped to be the saviors of the RAM market.
  • However, a local Chinese retailer listed 32GB DDR5 Ram at around $530.
  • This is almost the same amount that popular retailers are charging for this capacity.

RAM prices are at their highest, no thanks to the global crisis led by the AI boom. However, Chinese manufacturers were one ray of hope, as many declared they could meet demand through surplus production of memory chips.

Unfortunately, the Chinese market has been affected as well, as the 32GB DDR5 RAM kit is now selling for over $500, almost the same as it is in the rest of the world. For context, these Chinese RAMs often use CXMT-made chips.

Why it matters: Because China has huge production capabilities, many considered them the savior for consumers as it would provide a cheaper solution for the global prices. However, that hope has shattered.

Chinese RAM price
Chinese 32GB DDR5 RAMs are now selling for over $500

Chinese retailer JD.com has listed a 32 GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM kit at 3629 yuan, which converts to about $530. This is around the same price that popular vendors like Corsair, G.Skill, V-Color, and others are selling it for.

CXMT has huge production plants capable of delivering millions of wafers a month. But, it seems like they are also focused on catering to the AI demand, as that is much better for profits compared to the regular consumers.

RAM Prices
The prices are now quite comparable to those from popular vendors

The US even dropped its restrictions on Chinese memory producers, as they could’ve paved the way towards cheaper RAM. Now, considering that local prices are already this high, it might not make things any better globally.

So, for those considering importing Chinese RAMs, it is better to just get them from a more renowned brand, as you might be able to find better value getting something used locally. The hope for cheap Chinese memory seems to be gone.

What are your thoughts on Chinese retailers selling 32GB DDR5 RAM for over $500? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.

AMD Ends Support For Handheld Consoles Powered By Ryzen Z1 Extreme SoC

Story Highlight
  • AMD has now ended driver support for Ryzen Z1 Extreme APUs, as confirmed by Lenovo Korea.
  • The APUs aren’t even 3 years old and were notably featured in handhelds like the Lenovo Legion Go and the ASUS ROG Ally.
  • On the flip side, Intel Meteor Lake APUs that were released in the same timeframe are still getting support, which is much better than AMD’s.

AMD has stopped launching software updates for its AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme APUs, over two and a half years after their launch. This move is surprising given that the majority of handheld consoles use this hardware, with the ASUS ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go being the most well-known examples.

Lenovo Korea confirms that the Legion Go handheld will not receive any new BIOS or graphics driver updates due to one simple reason: AMD has discontinued support. This is a severe issue when using an APU with integrated graphics.

Why it matters: With no support, users will miss out on performance gains, compatibility with future releases, and features that could be included in future software updates.

lenovo go driver support end
Legion Go Handhelds Will Not Be Receiving Driver Support In The Future || Translated Via DCInside

One user had contacted Lenovo after noticing that his Legion Go handheld hadn’t received any new chipset update since August 2025. After contacting the manufacturer, he received the message above.

While this does not appear to be a complete shutdown, it does indicate that AMD has chosen a considerably slower or “periodic” update pace. This means that since the last update in August 2025, the Lenovo Go hasn’t received any support updates, performance enhancements, or bug fixes in half a year

In contrast, the Lenovo Legion Go S, released last year and based on the Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip, has still been receiving GPU driver updates since then.

In this approach, it appears that Lenovo Korea is forwarding user complaints to AMD, implying that they give both the most recent BIOS and driver upgrades provided by AMD. They even propose that these concerned consumers test alternative universal AMD drivers to see if they work with their hardware. Lenovo underlined that the Lenovo Legion Go and Legion Go S consoles’ drivers and BIOS are incompatible due to their distinct hardware.

MSI Claw 8 AI software drivers firmware
Lenovo Go Never Really Was The Best Option In Terms Of Driver Support With Late Updates, etc.

It’s worth noting that AMD planned to discontinue graphics support for the AMD Radeon RX 5000 and RX 6000 GPUs in late 2025. However, they later clarified that it was all “a misunderstanding.” As a result, they would continue to support certain graphics card types based on AMD’s RDNA 1 and RDNA 2 architecture.

Given this context and the large number of customers with AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme or Z1 hardware, it is clear that the same event will occur again.

Meanwhile, handhelds such as the MSI Claw, which use Intel Meteor Lake processors released during the same period, are still receiving support. Just recently, they received support for Intel XeSS 3 and Intel’s latest frame rate and scaling technology. The Intel-based console was a better investment for these customers, owing to AMD’s intentional obsolescence.

New Xbox Boss Says She Hears Fans Who Want Xbox Titles To Stay Exclusive To The Platform

Story Highlight
  • New Xbox CEO Asha Sharma replied to a fan’s complaint on X regarding the Xbox multiplatform strategy.
  • Sharma said she hears the players who want titles like Gears, Forza, and Halo to stay exclusive to Xbox.
  • Forza Horizon 5 has sold over 5 million copies on the PlayStation 5, showcasing how the strategy is working out for Microsoft.

The gaming world is still in shock following Phil Spencer’s sudden departure from Xbox after decades at the company. Players are already speculating that the former Xbox boss was forced to retire by Microsoft and didn’t voluntarily vacate his position.

Whatever the reality is, the business is moving on, and the gaming giant’s new CEO, Asha Sharma, is already up and active. The new boss is making sweeping statements, such as that Xbox won’t rely too heavily on AI and is even giving fans hope that the company’s divisive multiplatform approach can be reversed.

Why It Matters: First-party titles heading to rival platforms like PlayStation 5 is a strategy that has been in the works for years at Microsoft. Hence, this could just be a move to gain some player goodwill from the new Xbox head.

Asha Sharma Xbox Exclusives
Source: X

On X, a fan complained to Asha Sharma about important Xbox first-party titles going to other platforms, saying that games like Halo, Forza, and Gears should stay exclusive to the platform. In response, the new CEO replied with a simple “Hear you.

Of course, this ambiguous response is no indication that the multiplatform strategy will change, but Xbox fans in the replies still thanked Asha Sharma for listening to this issue.

Just last month, Xbox confirmed that first-party games will release more consistently on the PS5 from now on, including day-and-date releases like the upcoming Fable. Moreover, the company’s ex-President, Sarah Bond, declared the concept of exclusives outdated in 2025 following the multiplatform push.

Forza
Forza Horizon 5 has made $300 million in revenue for Xbox on PS5.

When you add the dominant sales performance of Forza Horizon 5 to the mix, which sold over 5 million copies on PS5 alone, it’s hard to see Microsoft changing the Xbox multi-platform strategy anytime soon, even if Asha Sharma gives it a second look.

Do you think the new Xbox CEO will listen to fans regarding the current multiplatform approach? Tell us in the comments below or head to the Tech4Gamers forum for discussion.

Former Resident Evil Director Furious Over Requiem Leaks, Wishes Leakers “A Thousand Deaths”

Story Highlight
  • Resident Evil Requiem physical copies were leaked ahead of the game’s launch.
  • Hideki Kamiya isn’t too pleased with the leakers and called them out in a new social media post.
  • He wishes them a “thousand deaths” and wishes that they may never play games again.

Just a couple of weeks before Resident Evil Requiem‘s launch, a few people managed to get their hands on the game’s physical copies, and chaos has now been unleashed all over the internet. Entire gameplay clips are being shared, and Capcom can do little for the damage control.

In fact, Hideki Kamiya, director of Resident Evil 2 and creator of the Devil May Cry series, voiced his frustration on the matter on social media. In fact, he even went as far as to wish a “thousand deaths” on the leakers and the people ruining the game for others.

Why it matters: No matter how publishers try, video games are susceptible to leaks, but this has gone too far. A similar situation happened with Assassin’s Creed: Shadows last year, and it damaged much of the developers’ work, which had taken years to create.

hideki kiyama requiem leakers
Many Believe That Hideki Kamiya Was Too Harsh With These Words While Other Supported His Remarks || X

Above is Hideki Kamiya’s message to the leakers, translated from Japanese into English. He recalls a magazine leaking the plot of Resident Evil 2 (called Biohazard 2 in Japan) ahead of the game’s launch.

He says that he abhors such people and calls this a “detestable act that destroys everyone’s happiness” and the developers’ who pour everything into making the game.

May you be cursed to never play games again…

Capcom is doing its best to calm the situation and prevent leaks from spoiling many gamers. The publisher’s legal department is taking down leakers and deleting any video clips posted ahead of launch, but they can only do so much.

Leon Kennedy Was Confirmed For The Game In A New Trailer Following A Long Series Of Rumors

We advise skipping any leaks for Resident Evil Requiem to avoid spoiling yourself. The game is just a week away from launch now, so the wait is about to end. In the meantime, publicly available information about the game reveals its length is twice that of Resident Evil 8 and has a much lower horror emphasis than the 7th entry.
