Leon Looking Fresh As Ever!

Story Highlight
  • Leon Kennedy was showcased as the second playable protagonist for Resident Evil Requiem in a brand-new trailer.
  • Leon’s gameplay sequences will lean towards action, providing a healthy contrast to the survival horror segments for Grace’s parts.
  • Other than that, reports also hint at Alyssa Ashcroft being the third playable character.

Resident Evil Requiem is possibly the series’ biggest launch to date, and Capcom has gone all out for the release, pouring hundreds of millions into the game’s development. Possibly the biggest reason for the game’s hype is the rumored appearance of fan-favorite Leon Kennedy.

Finally, Capcom has unveiled a brand-new trailer for the game at The Game Awards 2025, confirming that Leon Kennedy is indeed present in the game and will have his own gameplay segments.

Why it matters: Despite Resident Evil featuring a variety of protagonists across a span of 20+ years, Leon Kennedy remains a beloved character by many due to his charisma and action-oriented gameplay. As such, fans will be excited to hear his return for this new entry.

From the short teaser, Leon’s gameplay segments look more action-focused than Grace’s survival-horror parts. This will make a nice contrast for the gameplay and keep things interesting.

Despite Resident Evil Requiem taking place more than 2 decades after the fourth entry, Leon still appears to look fresh and young, contrary to rumors that he’d have a more rugged, older appearance.

Beyond Leon and Grace, an insider also teased Alyssa Ashcroft as the third protagonist, although it is speculated that her playable sequences will be pretty minimal compared to the rest.

Furthermore, another report has claimed a PS4 release for Resident Evil Requiem, which is quite unusual for a 12-year-old console. However, it appears that Capcom has taken note of the recent rise in console prices and aims to make the game accessible to as many players as possible.
