This 32″ 4K ASUS ROG Strix Monitor Is At Its All-Time Low Price On Amazon

ASUS’s ROG Strix series is considered one of the most premium in the gaming components space. The branding itself has established a name for itself and needs no further clarification about its quality and performance. But all that surely comes at a much higher cost to make it all possible. Anyhow, ROG Strix also offers a variety of decent gaming monitors. One of which is currently on sale on Amazon if you’re looking for a premium-tier one while also looking to save some bucks.

The monitor in discussion is the ASUS ROG Strix XG32UCG, which is saving you a total of 12% with the all-time low price of $599. The ASUS ROG Strix XG32UCG typically retails for over $670 and will definitely start selling at its average price once again pretty soon. So, keeping that in mind, you’re saving over $70 if you decide on getting this monitor right now.

To further support the claims, we have attached a price fluctuation graph from CamelCamelCamel, which provides a full record of its previous prices. The graph clearly indicates that the $599 price tag that is currently being offered is indeed the lowest for this monitor.

The ASUS ROG Strix XG32UCG features a 32″ IPS panel with a resolution maxing out at 4K at a 160 Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it can also go up to 360 Hz if you switch the resolution to 1080p. Similarly, the monitor also offers a response time of only 0.3 ms, which, combined with the aforementioned specifications, makes it a great choice for competitive gaming. Not to mention, like other ASUS monitors, this one also features the Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB Sync) as well as Nvidia G-Sync to get rid of any ghosting or screen tearing while you’re gaming.

Keanu Reeves Would ‘Absolutely Love’ to Play Johnny Silverhand Again in Cyberpunk 2

Story Highlight
  • Keanu Reeves, the actor behind Johnny Silverhand, has expressed his interest in playing Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2.
  • The sequel has just begun pre-production, and there’s definitely room for Silverhand in the game.
  • The final decision lies with CD Projekt Red on whether they include him in the sequel.

While CD Projekt Red is fully focused on The Witcher 4’s development right now, they’ve also kicked off pre-production on a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. Previously called Project Orion, the sequel is officially named Cyberpunk 2 and will be released after 2029.

Details regarding the sequel are quite scarce, with no word on which character we’ll get to see return in the next game. That is, Keanu Reeves has expressed his interest in playing Johnny Silverhand once again in the sequel.

Why it matters: Johnny Silverhand is arguably one of the most well-written characters in video game history, and Keanu Reeves’ performance was the icing on the cake. As such, his return will be quite exciting for the fans.

keanu reeves you're breathtaking
Keanu Reeves Saying ‘You’re Breathtaking’ Became One Of The Most Iconic Pop Culture Moments

While promoting his movie Good Fortune, Keanu Reeves was asked by IGN whether he would want to be a part of Cyberpunk 2. He responded by saying:

Absolutely. I’d love to play Johnny Silverhand again.

With the actor already interested in revisiting the role, it’s all up to developer CD Projekt Red whether to include one of Hollywood’s best veteran actors in the sequel or not.

However, inserting Johnny Silverhand into the sequel isn’t as easy as it looks. (Spoilers Ahead) Cyberpunk 2077 offers multiple endings, and there isn’t one canonical ending, at least not confirmed by the developers yet.

Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 To Get More Updates As Teased By The Developers

Silverhand gets to live in multiple endings after taking over V’s body. Now, for Silverhand to survive would mean making V’s death canon. This won’t sit right with fans, which is the reason why there isn’t a ‘canon’ ending in the first place.

Still, if CD Projekt Red were to offer fan service, V could be revived in some way. Or, Silverhand could appear in a few Easter eggs or in flashback sequences, which is the least the developers can do for the Silverhand fandom.

PlayStation 6 Rumored to Feature Removable Disc Drive for Cost Savings, Claims Insider

Story Highlight
  • A reputable insider states that the PS6 will launch with a detachable disc drive, similar to the newer PS5 consoles.
  • This decision was implemented after disc drive sales for the PS5 met internal targets.
  • Moreover, a detachable disc drive will reduce manufacturing and shipment costs.

The next generation of PlayStation is officially underway as the PS5 consoles near their lifecycle completion. We already have several rumors and leaks regarding the PS6, which is currently slated for a 2028 launch.

Now, another report has surfaced claiming that the PS6 will feature a detachable disc drive, similar to the newer PS5 consoles.

Why it matters: With the rise of digital media, many consumers don’t require disc drives anymore. However, at the same time, some still prefer to preserve physical media. Detachable disc drives are a good way to please both parties.

Insider Claims That PS6 Will Launch With A Detachable Disc Drive ||

As reported on social media, the PS6 will be available to buy as a digital-only console or as a traditional console bundled with a detachable disc drive. Similar to the PS5, users will be able to upgrade their digital consoles by purchasing a detachable disc drive later.

The report further reveals that PlayStation is quite firm on this decision since the PS5’s disc drive met the gaming giant’s targets.

PS6 Portable
A Handheld PlayStation Console To Be Launched Alongside The PS6

Moreover, Sony also aims to reduce manufacturing and shipment costs via this arrangement since tariffs and trade wars have significantly impacted the cost of electronics. Due to the same reason, the PS6 design will be much simpler to maximize efficiency, reduce weight, and improve other factors.

Previous reports have suggested that the PS6 could feature 24GB of RAM and is heavily reliant on machine learning for a true next-gen experience. In terms of GPU performance, Insider previously put the performance closer to the RTX 9070 XT.

What are your thoughts on this story? Do you think Sony is making a good decision to offer users the choice to keep physical media or not? Please share your thoughts with us in the comment section or join the conversation at the official Tech4Gamers Forums.

SOCD: Why I Love It, And Why It Is Mainly Responsible For HE Keyboards’ Fame

Story Highlight
  • Firstly, Snap Tap or Last Key Priority is the hallmark SOCD feature that has positioned Hall Effect keyboards as superior alternatives to mechanical and optical keyboards.
  • Moving on, Hall Effect switches also enable a couple of other practical features that are highly beneficial for gamers, like Dynamic Keystroke, Adjustable Actuation Distance, and Rapid Trigger, to name a few examples.
  • As a result, Magnetic keyboards are now being hailed as the go-to option for anyone looking to upgrade their typing hardware, be it for gaming or typing.

Let’s be real: for years, a keyboard was just a keyboard. You pressed a key, it registered, and that was that.

But then, something revolutionary happened. Magnetic, or Hall Effect (HE), keyboards exploded onto the scene, and they didn’t just change the game; rather, they completely rewrote the rules.

Magnetic keyboards like the Wooting 60HE+ are all the rage nowadays. (Image Credits - Tech4Gamers)
Magnetic keyboards like the Wooting 60HE+ we reviewed are all the rage nowadays.

And at the heart of this revolution is a nerdy-sounding acronym you need to know: SOCD.

I’m here to tell you why SOCD isn’t just a technical feature; it’s the secret sauce, the magic trick, the absolute cornerstone that transformed HE keyboards from a niche curiosity into a must-have phenomenon.

What Even Is SOCD? The Magic Behind The Curtain

First things first, let’s demystify this. SOCD stands for Simultaneous Opposite Cardinal Direction handling.

Sounds complex, but it’s beautifully simple. Imagine you’re playing a fighting game. You’re pressing both left and right on your keyboard at the exact same time. What should happen?

On a mechanical or optical keyboard, the result is often a crapshoot; maybe it registers the last key pressed, maybe it cancels both out, leaving your character standing still like a fool.

This chaotic, unpredictable outcome is what SOCD clearing fixes. SOCD handling is the intelligent process that takes these conflicting inputs and applies a logical, consistent rule.

The most common and beloved rule in gaming is Neutral SOCD: if you press Left + Right simultaneously, they cancel each other out, resulting in a neutral (no movement) input.

The same goes for Up + Down.

This isn’t just a convenience; it’s a monumental shift in control and precision. And magnetic keyboards, with their analog, software-driven nature, implement this flawlessly.

Beyond Neutral: The Game-Changing SOCD Feature

That being said, SOCD handling is just the foundation. But the real magic? The features that made HE keyboards famous? Those are built on top of SOCD handling. This is where my love affair truly began.

The headliner, without a doubt, is “Snap Tap”, also known as “Last Key Priority.”

This brilliant feature prioritizes the most recent input when you’ve depressed at least two keys (for example, “A” and “D” for strafing left and right).

However, the first/original key will still be immediately registered as soon as you release the most recent key.

In other words, Snap Tap essentially reads the intention of your movement, letting you perform lightning-fast directional changes or button presses with minimal physical effort.

The reduction in finger fatigue and the increase in speed are nothing short of incredible.

Of course, quite a few magnetic keyboards will allow you to customise your SOCD preferences with the help of built-in software.

The Ban Heard ‘Round the World: Proof Of A Meta-Shifting Advantage

You know a competitive advantage is real when the governing body has to step in.

Valve’s decision to ban these SOCD features in CS:GO (now CS2) tournaments wasn’t a PR stunt; it was the ultimate validation.

They recognized that features like Snap Tap provided an unfair edge that circumvented the skill-based muscle memory traditional keyboards required.

It was a watershed moment. Suddenly, every serious competitive gamer sat up and took notice.

If something was so powerful it had to be banned from pro play, it was obviously worth having for rank grinds in every other game.

Needless to say, this single act did more for HE keyboards’ marketing than any ad campaign ever could.

The Perfect Storm: Why HE Keyboards Were Primed For This

For starters, SOCD features couldn’t have achieved this fame on just any keyboard. They needed the right platform, and magnetic keyboards were the perfect vessel.

This is why optical keyboards are scrambling to play catch-up. The reason is inherent to the technology.

To elaborate, Hall Effect sensors are analog by nature. They don’t just detect an on/off state; they measure the precise distance of the keypress.

With a magnetic keyboard, you can adjust the actuation distance to suit your playing (or typing) style. (Image Credits - Keychron)
(GIF Credits – Keychron)

Precisely, this innate capability is what allows for dynamically adjustable actuation points. You can set a key to actuate at 0.1mm for speed or 4mm for a more deliberate press.

This analog precision is the bedrock upon which SOCD features like Snap Tap are built.

The keyboard is constantly monitoring the exact position of every switch’s magnet, allowing for reset-on-lift and other miracles.

Original Creators Of Life Is Strange Not Involved In Series Adaptation

Story Highlight
  • It was recently revealed that Life is Strange is being adapted into a TV series by Amazon MGM Studios.
  • The game’s writer, Christian Divine, now confirms that the series will not include the original creators of the IP.
  • The series is being written and directed by The End of the F***ing World creator Charlie Covell.

Despite the latest Life is Strange game failing to live up to expectations, the original title and its sequel redefined the entire narrative games genre. Therefore, fans were extremely excited to learn that the franchise is being adapted into a TV show by Amazon MGM Studios.

However, this excitement has already started to fizzle out in the community after Life is Strange writer Chiristian Divine confirmed that the TV show will not include the original franchise creators. The news has caused uproar on social media.

Why it matters: Fans are quite upset with Amazon MGM Studios for greenlighting the Life is Strange series adaptation without including the original creators of the franchise.

The Life is Strange TV adaptation does not include the original creators.

Christian’s confirmation on Twitter is a sharp jab at the Amazon MGM Studios’s Life is Strange TV show announcement.

He clarifies that the only people not involved with it are the creators, who are arguably the most important to have a faithful and successful TV reimagining of the popular series. Therefore, fans are extremely furious with Amazon.

The show is being written and directed by The End of the F***ing World creator Charlie Covell, who is also regarded as a successful and promising creator in the industry. Meanwhile, Square Enix, Story Kitchen, and Lucky Chap are producing the series.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure
Life is Strange: Double Exposure, the latest game in the IP, failed to satisfy fans.

Amazon MGM Studios already boasts experience in adapting several game franchises, such as the upcoming Fallout Season 2 and the live-action Tomb Raider.

As per the official description, the show follows Max, ‘a photography student, who discovers she can rewind time.’ It will follow Max figuring out her powers while trying to save the life of her childhood best friend, Chloe.

Do you think the Life is Strange series adaptation will turn out to be a faithful reimagining of the games, or will it divert too far from the source material? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Unreal Engine 5.7 Set to Launch Soon With Major Upgrades Shown in The Witcher 4 Demo

Story Highlight
  • According to a GitHub branch update, Unreal Engine 5.7 may be released soon.
  • An announcement could likely take place at the upcoming Unreal Fest in Stockholm.
  • Unreal Engine 5.7 will include previously shown features from the Witcher 4 Tech Demo.

CDPR, one of the biggest developers in the industry right now, has partnered with Epic Games to utilize Unreal Engine 5 for their future projects as well as enhance the game engine.

As such, a Witcher 4 Tech Demo was presented recently, highlighting the latest Unreal Engine 5.6. However, some of the features, as shown in the demo, were slated for Unreal Engine 5.7, which is now expected to be released soon.

Why it matters: Unreal Engine 5 is the most widespread engine used in the industry right now. As notorious as it is for its stutters and poor performance, its advancement would be a benefit for the industry as a whole.

unreal engine 5.7 release soon
Unreal Engine 5.7 May Release Soon || Source: X

Currently, an Unreal Engine 5.7 Branch is already available on GitHub, with the main branch at 5.8. As such, Unreal Engine 5.7 may be nearing its release, possibly by the end of this month.

An Unreal Fest will take place in Stockholm from 22 September to 24 September. Unreal Engine 5.7 could likely be showcased at that event.

While it’s just been 3 months since version 5.6 was released, it was delayed from its initial April release, which is why 5.7 is being showcased so quickly.

We already have a glimpse of what the next version of the engine will bring. The Witcher 4 Tech Demo showcased on Unreal Engine 5.6 included features like Nanite Foliage, which was slated to be released for Unreal Engine 5.7.

Nanite Foliage is a memory-efficient way to achieve high-density foliage. Moreover, there will be additional features present in the latest version that we’ll get to see perhaps later this month.

In other news, CDPR has been working hard behind the scenes to eliminate the infamous Unreal Engine 5 stutters, and so far, they’ve been doing a commendable job. A Fast-Geometry Streaming Plug-in was already released in the latest version, which helps with fast streaming of assets, therefore reducing stutters.

Concord Dev Claims Many Gamers Enjoy Seeing Games Fail

Story Highlight
  • Concord developers recently discussed the game on a new podcast.
  • They noted that many players had already made up their mind about the title before it launched.
  • The developers also agreed that certain audiences seem to enjoy seeing games fail on a huge scale.

One year after its disastrous release, Concord remains PlayStation’s biggest failure in the modern era. Shut down mere days after its full release, this ambitious live-service title has led to the gaming giant reevaluating its entire live-service slate.

Much has been said about Concord and its reception since last year. In fact, fans have even shown skepticism regarding Marathon due to last year’s failure. Discussing the events of 2024, a former Concord developer has reflected on the past and noted that some players seemingly enjoy seeing games fail.

Why it matters: Online gamers have become more vocal than ever, and developers believe they sometimes go too far when expressing their criticism related to certain games.

Concord
Concord Was Only Live For A Few Days Before It Went Offline

Speaking on the latest episode of the Life Well Wasted podcast, Firewalk developers discussed Concord’s reception and how it impacted everyone on the team.

One developer noted that players had seemingly made up their mind about the game before it was even released. The developer primarily blamed Firewalk’s own marketing for failing to convince players.

At the same time, the Firewalk employee suggested that a subset of players seems to enjoy seeing high-profile projects crash and burn. Former staff from the studio believe that it’s easy to be caught on the bandwagon when it comes to such a situation, but audiences often don’t realize the impact of such events on the average developer.

It’s weird that there is this audience who’s just constantly wanting to be excited that something fails.

Still, Firewalk members look back on the experience of working on the title fondly. In the podcast, they described Concord as ‘the most beautiful car they ever crashed.’

Concord
Concord Cost Millions of Dollars To Make

Moving forward, PlayStation is carefully examining its live-service projects. The gaming giant intends to make sure no future release ends up in the same situation, with quality being prioritized over quantity.

What do you make of the former Firewalk staff’s opinions? Do you agree that hate for Concord went too far? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Four Months After Launch, Oblivion Remastered’s Issues Still Haven’t Been Fixed

Story Highlight
  • Oblivion Remastered’s recent reviews have been mixed on Steam, with most complaining about the game’s broken state.
  • Players claim that updates have made the performance worse, and on top of that, the game also frequently crashes.
  • The last update was released in July, with growing concern that Bethesda may have abandoned the game altogether.

2025 has been one of the biggest years for RPG fans with numerous releases such as Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, and most notably, the shadow-dropped Oblivion Remastered.

Oblivion Remastered was an instant hit when it dropped four months ago and went on to become the 3rd best-selling game in the US. However, Bethesda has seemingly abandoned the title, as it is plagued by several issues, leading to it being review-bombed on Steam.

Why it matters: The Elder Scrolls franchise is too big to be left in a poor state. For a remaster to have game-breaking issues is unacceptable and leaves the title in an unplayable state for gamers.

oblivion remastered steam review
Oblivion Remastered Steam Review Complaining About The Game’s Performance

While the overall reviews for Oblivion Remastered stand at ‘Very Positive’, the most recent ones are ‘Mixed.’ Players have been complaining about severe performance issues, game-breaking bugs, and whatnot.

This review states that the game’s condition has worsened since the last update, with performance dropping rather than improving. This player doesn’t even achieve a stable 30FPS in cities, although that was previously the case.

oblivion remastered steam review
Oblivion Remastered Steam Review Complaining About The Game’s Bugs And Crashes

Another review also complains about the bugs and the frequent crashes that the player encounters. Crashes like these have made progression for the player quite impossible.

It’s worth noting that Oblivion Remastered hasn’t received an update in almost two months. The last update, 1.2, dropped on July 16, and Bethesda has been radio silent on the game ever since.

The game’s mod support isn’t great at all and frequently encounters compatibility issues. From what it seems, Bethesda never really had a long-term plan to support the game since they left it in a position like this.

Have you played Oblivion Remastered recently? If so, then did you encounter these performance and game-breaking issues? Let us know in the comments below, or at the official Tech4Gamers Forums.

Elden Ring Nightreign Is Better Than Ever With Two Player Mode

Story Highlight
  • Elden Ring Nightreign now offers two-player co-op, and it works incredibly well.
  • This mode strikes the perfect balance between a solo experience and too many players.
  • Two-player co-op feels just right, highlighting yet another success for FromSoftware.

FromSoftware has produced hit after hit over the last decade. Between games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Armored Core 6, the studio has produced solid releases, but none match up to the success of Elden Ring.

This is perhaps why the team decided to delve into online multiplayer with an Elden Ring spin-off earlier this year, marking the release of Elden Ring: Nightreign. Although this game has garnered mixed reactions, I personally found it quite fun as a co-op experience set in the Elden Ring universe.

However, I believe the game really came into own once FromSoftware added the dedicated two-player mode last month.

Why it matters: Elden Ring Nightreign signifies FromSoftware’s focus on trying new things, something I really appreciate.

The Two-Player Mode Works Well

Elden Ring NightReign Featured 3
Nightreign’s Two-Player Mode Has Been Demanded For A While Now

It’s no secret that Elden Ring Nightreign was designed for three-player co-op. In practice, the game was always playable solo, but the original gameplay experience remained unmatched.

I find it even more impressive, then, that the two-player co-op mode works so well. FromSoftware’s signature difficulty is retained in this mode, while the chaos of three wildly different players battling a larger-than-life foe is eliminated from the experience.

In my opinion, this mode feels less overwhelming but just as fun. I also think this is exactly why now is the best time to buy an Elden Ring Nightreign key and jump into FromSoftware’s first attempt at online co-op.

Two Feels Right

Elden Ring Nightreign Featured 2
Elden Ring Nightreign Features All Kinds of Bosses

It’s no secret that finding two friends who play the same games is not always easy. Between busy schedules and different interests, Elden Ring Nightreign’s co-op experience has always been held back by its three-player requirement.

In my opinion, the two-player mode completely solves this issue. Having just one other friend along for the ride also feels a lot more natural when attempting to navigate the challenging world of FromSoftware’s latest release.

New Kind of Experience

Elden Ring NightReign Featured
Elden Ring NightReign Retains FromSoftware’s Traditional Challenging Approach

Perhaps the best part of this experience is that it is not easy. Elden Ring Nightreign ensures that even duos face formidable trials and bosses remain as threatening as ever. For instance, the Twilight Harbinger becomes less punishing as a duo, but the fight is certainly not for the faint of heart.

Beyond the gameplay, the two-player mode shines in terms of the narrative it builds. I fully expect duos to look back fondly on their Elden Ring Nightreign adventures a few years from now, something that simply wouldn’t be as effective when playing solo.

In the end, I think FromSoftware was smart to add this mode to Elden Ring Nightreign. For those who wish to play solo or in groups of three, the other options are still there, allowing the game to offer something for everyone.

I know for a fact that more players have jumped into Elden Ring due to this change, and digital marketplaces like Eneba make the purchase incredibly easy.

GTA 5’s Chaotic Sandbox Remains As Fun As Ever

Story Highlight
  • GTA 5 offers nearly infinite replayability due to its chaotic nature.
  • The game encourages players to break the law and create their own fun.
  • Additional content from GTA Online and RP servers makes this part of the experience even more engaging.

It’s hard to believe that GTA 5 will be 12 years old by the time GTA 6 arrives. The game has been constantly entertaining millions of players since 2013, with the engaging story, thrilling heists, and more keeping players busy for well over a decade.

I first played the game all the way back in 2015 on an Xbox 360, but I still find myself revisiting the title on PC from time to time. There’s a reason GTA 5 has sold around 200 million copies, with one key component being the chaotic nature of Grand Theft Auto’s open-world sandbox. In my opinion, the chaos of GTA 5 has not aged a single day since 2013.

Why it matters: Grand Theft Auto has always let players loose in a massive sandbox and given them the freedom to do as they pleased. The series’ latest entry is perhaps the best representation of this freedom.

A Thrilling Experience

GTA 5
GTA Has Always Been About Going Against The Law

It’s no secret that everyone, myself included, breaks the law in Grand Theft Auto. Whether it be ignoring traffic signals or stealing luxurious sports cards, GTA 5 gives you the freedom to do whatever you want.

Unlike real life, consequences don’t show up until much later, making the whole experience very engaging. This is amplified further in GTA Online, a mode where players aspire to become the ultimate criminal.

GTA Online is built on activities like heists, death matches, and more. Moreover, players even rely on GTA Shark cards on Eneba to keep up with their friends and enjoy the chaos further.

Addictive Gameplay Loop

GTA 5
Chaos Has Been A Core Component Of Past Grand Theft Auto Games, And GTA 5 Does It Even Better

Gaming, by nature, is quite addictive, and GTA 5 takes this element to the next level. The game’s core sandbox not only ignores broken laws, but it also encourages players to get in trouble with the law.

This is perhaps why the act of speeding past a traffic signal or mowing down virtual gangs is so entertaining. The chaotic nature of the game also creates stories for friends to discuss later.

Remember how we’d discuss crazy stunts or near-death escapes in GTA 5 back in the day? This is exactly why the game has near-infinite replayability. I also like to use cheats to add an extra element of fun to the experience. After all, who doesn’t like to blow up cars with a single punch?

Roleplay

GTA 5 Trevor
Players Can Take Up Specific Roles On FiveM Servers

An interesting part of the GTA experience is roleplay. Platforms like FiveM allow players to take on roles as police officers, lawyers, gang leaders, or even humble taxi drivers.

One would expect these platforms to offer more grounded gameplay, but the reality is that players show even more unpredictable behavior when taking up certain roles. Because so many players interact online on these servers, some are more chaotic than others.

Even when trying to abide by a set of rules, the thrill of disrupting everything in GTA never really goes away.

Chaos As Escapism

Grand Theft Auto GTA 5
GTA 5 Allows For Unparalleled Escapism

Ultimately, GTA 5 remains a juggernaut of a game because it offers a rare form of escapism. Few games match the choice of this series, and with Rockstar constantly adding more content to the game, the fun really never ends.

This is also why players buy Shark cards so consistently, and thanks to Eneba digital marketplace, diving further into the quintessential GTA chaos, even when playing GTA Online, has never been easier.
