    Pros

    • Exceptional Cooling performance
    • All-black design

    Cons

    • Poor RAM Clearance
    • Massive in Size

Noctua has amassed quite a sizable following over recent years, and part of its success is thanks to the NH-D15, as it paved the way for Noctua to dominate the CPU market even years after its release. The original Noctua NH-D15 was nothing short of incredible, quickly becoming a staple for air coolers and the chromax.black variant is no different.

The all-new chromax.black variant of the Noctua NH-D15 combines the impressive performance of the original cooler with a dark finish which adds a sleek black coating to the entirety of the cooler, making it an appealing option for fans of the minimalistic look.

It features Noctua’s renowned 140mm NF-A15 fans, which have proved to be extremely capable in the past. These fans operate at a maximum speed of 1500 RPM, producing an overall noise output of 24.6 dBA. Much like the rest of Noctua’s coolers, a separate low-noise adapter is also present in the box for anyone interested in further reducing the overall noise output.

The NF-A15 fans offer a maximum airflow of 140 m^3/h, which is reduced all the way down to 115.5 m^3/h when used in conjunction with the low-noise adapter. The well-received fans, coupled with the six heat pipes soldered directly to the base plate, help the NH-D15 chromax.black achieves exceptional performance comparable to that found in AIO Liquid Coolers.

The included Black SecuFirm mounting kit is considered one of the best in the business, allowing for easy installation for all of their coolers. Going over the installation, despite Noctua’s best efforts in maximizing the RAM clearance, the NH-D15’s massive size does limit RAM and GPU compatibility by quite a lot. Furthermore, given its size of 160mm, PC case compatibility might also be an issue.

Bundled with the cooler itself is Noctua’s very own NT-H1 thermal compound; a separate thermal compound tube is always a welcome addition to any cooler. Lastly, Noctua has backed up the NH-D15 with 6 years of warranty, which is almost expected given Noctua’s incredible customer support.

    Why We Picked It

The Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black boasts several standout features, which help elevate its overall value. Starting from its top-of-the-line performance, which continues to be a testimony to Noctua’s dedication to bringing the best possible cooling solutions. It ranks among one of the best CPU coolers to have ever launched thanks to its efficient 6-heat pipe design and two 140mm fans.

Performance aside, Noctua seems to have nailed the black aesthetic to an impressive degree, setting it apart from the majority of the coolers available. The black design does a phenomenal job of giving the cooler a modern look, allowing it to fit right into most modern PC builds. Despite the lack of RGB, its design will definitely not disappoint you.

    Who Is It For

The Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black is designed specifically for anyone that wants the best performance out of an air CPU cooler without compromising on the looks. Although RAM compatibility might be limited, it proves to be an extremely capable cooler, suitable for cooling high-end processors such as the Core i7-13700KF.

    What We Disliked

The Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black measures 160mm in height, which can be an issue for people working with smaller PC cases. Furthermore, its dual tower design and the gigantic 149mm NH-15 fans significantly limit its RAM compatibility. While Noctua has advertised it to have a RAM clearance of 63mm, working with tall RAM kits, especially RGB ones, can be an issue.

    Verdict

The legendary NH-D15 cemented Noctua as one of the greatest CPU Cooler manufacturers in the industry, and it continues to dominate the market with the all-new black variant. With its elegant design, minimalistic aesthetic, and outstanding cooling, it is no wonder how it has become a favorite among most enthusiasts. While the potential compatibility issues slightly mar its value, that has not stopped us from crowning it as the Best CPU Cooler For Core i7-13700KF.

    Pros

    • Outstanding Cooling Capabilities
    • Well-built design

    Cons

    • Extremely Expensive

EKWB or EK Water Blocks, as suggested by the name, is devoted to producing well-manufactured water-cooled products ranging from AIO Liquid Coolers to custom Water Blocks for Graphics cards. They have garnered a fantastic reputation in recent years and continue to impress us with their great selection of Liquid Coolers.

One of their most well-received coolers includes the EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB, which serves as the company’s highest-end cooler, explicitly designed for enthusiast-grade builds that want to take the most advantage out of their processors. Filled to the brim with diverse features, it stands out as one of the company’s most versatile offerings.

EKWB’s devotion to the craft is put to display with the well-put-together design of the EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB. Its design manages to perfectly embody the sheer cooling prowess it provides, which is further evidenced by the low temperatures that you can find in our review of the EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB.

EKWB has managed to incorporate an astounding level of expertise with their SPC-style pump, which provides industry-leading performance, all the while keeping the noise levels to the lowest. Moreover, EKWB’s seamless implementation of the opaque design on the front of the pump allows for the right amount of light to seep through without detracting from the actual look of the pump.

Speaking of RGB, EKWB has equipped the cooler with a total of six A-RGB fans which are fully compatible with software such as ASUS Aura Sync, RGB Fusion, and Mystic Light. EKWB’s EK-Vardar S 120ER provide optimum cooling thanks to their higher maximum speed of 2200 RPM. Coming with a rated maximum airflow of 66.04 CFM along with an air pressure of 1.9 mm H20, the EK-Vardar S 120ER will surely meet all of your cooling needs.

Of course, the number of fans is not going to amount to much unless they are paired with an equally impressive radiator. The EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB features a fairly thick 120mm long radiator, although most of the space is used to accommodate the six 120mm fans. Its limited space has not stopped it from providing excellent performance, with the EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB topping the charts in most tests.

With a noise output of 31.6 dBA, the EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB is slightly more audible than the competition; however, that is expected, given the higher fan count. Lastly, compatibility is something that has not been overlooked either. It offers compatibility with a wide range of sockets which include LGA 1700, along with older sockets, such as 1150, 1151, and LGA 1200, just to name a few.

    Why We Picked It

Many people consider the EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB as the greatest 360mm cooler, and that’s for a good reason. From its sophisticated design to its unparalleled performance, the EK AIO Elite 360 D-RGB is a complete package that fascinates us with its comprehensive set of features. In addition to that, its impressive performance also makes overclocking possible even for high-end processors such as the i7-13700KF.

    Who Is It For

The EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB makes for an ideal choice for those seeking top-of-the-line performance in their build without compromising on the aesthetics. Its enthusiast-level performance is destined to meet the needs of even the most demanding users.

    What We Disliked

To no one’s surprise, the price is the biggest obstacle that makes the EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB a difficult choice for anyone on a budget. While a higher price is expected from a 360mm AIO Liquid Cooler, the cost of the EKWB product may still be a bit steep for some consumers. Despite this, the company’s dedication to quality and performance cannot be denied.

    Verdict

The EK is a showcase of EK’s dedication to the craft, which allows them to push the boundaries of current AIO liquid coolers. With its staggering fan count, the cooler displays immense cooling effectiveness and credibility, which is only further highlighted by its solid build quality. To sum up, its combination of excellent performance and high-end features make it the Best 360mm AIO Liquid CPU Cooler For i7-13700KF.

    • Great Performance
    • Reasonable Price

    Cons

    • Slightly Tricky Installation

Arctic is a prime figure in the gaming industry that has undoubtedly established its reputation in the market as a premier manufacturer of well-built cooling hardware. Their extremely well-received Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB has made strides within the industry, earning it a spot in almost every list we compile.

Every cooler in the Arctic’s vast selection of products has its own place in the market; however, the one that stands out the most is the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB for its unmatched value and solid performance. Arctic’s 240mm AIO liquid cooler may not be groundbreaking, but it certainly manages to set itself apart in a crowded market, setting a new standard for future coolers to follow.

The Liquid Freezer II 240-ARGB makes use of Arctic’s in-house pump design, which seems to have served them great. Despite its unnatural shape and larger overall size, the pump packs a punch when it comes to performance. What’s more, Arctic has also included an additional 40mm VRM fan with the pump, which is capable of spinning at a maximum speed of 3000 RPM.

It is worth mentioning that the VRM fan found on the pump makes no significant difference to the overall noise output. The Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB features two of Arctic’s P12 PWM fans which come equipped with fluid dynamic bearings. The fan’s noise output of 0.3 Sone makes the cooler fairly inaudible, even when operating at high speeds.

Arctic’s P-Series fans have been designed specifically to provide the best possible airflow. With a maximum fan speed of 2200 RPM and static pressure of 1.85mm H20, the fans provide a promising level of performance that proves to be adequate for even the highest-end processors. Arctic has gone with a relatively thick radiator for the Liquid Freezer II 240-ARGB, which comes with an increased surface area, allowing it to perform drastically better than the competition.

Compatibility has not been disregarded either, with the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB supporting the majority of modern sockets, including the LGA 1700 and AM5. Make sure to check out our full review of the Liquid Arctic Freezer II 240 A-RGB, which covers the cooler in further detail.

    Why We Picked It

ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB Cooler
ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB AIO – Photo: Tech4Gamers

The Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB stands out with remarkable performance and a well-built structure. It offers a nice blend between its looks and performance, all the while providing low noise levels thanks to the P12 PWM fans. What’s even more impressive is that it manages to achieve that at a fairly lower price than its competition, making it a better option for anyone on a budget.

Furthermore, Arctic’s in-house pump is a swift departure from generic pump designs, providing cooling performance on par with higher-end AIOs. Arctic has also managed to incorporate a 40mm VRM fan with the pump, which makes for a great addition for anyone working with weaker onboard cooling solutions.

    Who Is It For

With modern coolers now being plagued with high prices, the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB is a breath of fresh air for anyone who wants to get the best price-to-performance ratio out of a reasonably priced cooler. If you are looking for an adequately sized AIO Liquid cooler that does not break the bank, then the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB is your best bet.

    What We Disliked

It is clear that Arctic has managed to completely blow us away with the Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB. Although there is not a lot to dislike about it, the increased surface area on the radiator makes it slightly difficult to install, especially for beginners; however, that should not be a deal breaker for most people.

    Verdict

With its compelling range of features and excellent performance, the Liquid Arctic Freezer II 240-ARGB leaves no stone unturned. It delivers on every aspect as a 240mm AIO Liquid Cooler, being capable of comfortably accommodating higher-end processors. All of that, combined with its tremendous value, makes it the Best 240mm AIO Liquid Cooler For Core i7-13700KF.

    Pros

    • Impressive Overall Performance
    • Visually-stunning design

    Cons

    • Slightly Expensive

If you were not captivated by the dull designs of any of our previous picks, then the iCUE H150i Elite Capellix White from Corsair is bound to catch your eye. It provides outstanding performance without compromising the slightest on the actual looks. While its name might be a bit of a mouthful, it certainly does not fail to deliver in any department.

Corsair’s weird naming conventions aside, the iCUE H150i Elite Capelli is their flagship 360mm AIO Liquid Cooler that has now been made available with a white coating. As suggested by the name, the entirety of the cooler is adorned in a sleek all-white finish, which covers everything apart from the baseplate.

Related Read: BEST White PC Build In 2023

Corsair’s decision to introduce a separate white variant has definitely paid off, given the cooler’s well-received looks. The revamped white aesthetics add a sense of modernity and minimalism to the cooler while retaining the impressive performance of the previous variant. Naturally, the cooler’s appeal extends beyond just serving as a visual uplift to your system, with the iCUE packing solid performance as well.

Unlike the rest of the coolers mentioned in this list, the Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capelle uses Asetek’s latest 7th-generation pump to meet your cooling needs. The seventh-generation pump brings a notable performance uplift compared to the last gen, making it suitable for cooling the Core i7-13700KF.

Moving on from the pump, the Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix now comes with three of Corsair’s ML RGB fans. While the ML RGB fans are a slight downgrade from the LCD version, they still perform relatively well, especially considering the 100-dollar price gap between the two coolers.

Despite the pump’s superficial resemblance to its predecessors, we have seen quite a lot of design changes that give it a distinctive look and feel. We see an opaque design on the front of the pump, with multiple LED nodes scattered throughout its entirety. Design aside, it provides low noise levels of 20 dBA while under load.

The ML RGB fans use Corsair’s Magnetic Levitation bearings and reach a maximum speed of 2400 RPM. The fans are designed to generate an airflow of 75 CFM along with an air pressure of 4.2 mm H2O. The noise level, on the other hand, seems to be a bit higher, hovering at 37 dBA under full load.

Corsair has also gone ahead and included a separate Commander Core XT RGB Controller inside the box, allowing you to fully customize every aspect of the RGB lighting. Speaking of customizability, Corsair’s iCUE software also allows you to tinker with the RGB LEDs and even potentially sync them with case fans to elevate your system’s overall ambiance.

    Why We Picked It

Judging by its specifications alone, it is clear that the Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capelli stands in a league of its own when it comes to performance. It builds on the concept of the previous generation variant, providing you with a unique product that does not miss the mark in any aspect.

Corsair has decided to go all out on the RGB side of things as well, loading both the pump and the fans with small RGB LEDs that allow for smoother transitions and better overall effects. On top of that, its white design makes it one of the better-looking coolers you can currently get. Not only; does it look drastically better than the black variant, but it also adds a lot more personality to one’s build.

Overclocking your shiny new processor with the Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix is no problem either. Its 7th generation pump, coupled with the ML RGB fans, will give your processor enough thermal headroom to stretch to its very limits.

Perhaps the ridiculous price of the previous 360mm AIO Liquid coolers is a bit too daunting for you, then a decent air cooler such as the DeepCool AK620 will also get the job done in a surprisingly efficient manner as well. While air coolers have been notorious throughout the community for their inferior performance, that is not always the case, with dual-tower coolers such as the AK620 now rivaling the performance of some Liquid Coolers.

The DeepCool AK620 features a twin-tower design with six copper heat pipes that are soldered directly to the base plate. The aluminum fin stack resting above the heat pipes comprises 49 aluminum fins for optimal heat dissipation. In terms of its design, DeepCool has kept things nice and simple; however, a matrix array can be seen on the aluminum fin stack.

It uses DeepCool’s 120mm FK120 PWM fans which operate at speeds ranging from 800 to 1850 RPM. As advertised on DeepCool’s website, it has a full load noise level of 28 dBA, which is quite low for a dual-tower cooler. Moreover, the FK120 fans offer an airflow of 68.99 CFM along with an air pressure 2.19mmAq.

In an attempt to increase RAM clearance, DeepCool has implemented a rather unique design for the fin array. The aluminum fin stack comes with a small cut-out at the bottom, which leads to a much better RAM clearance of 43mm.

Noctua is a name that has become synonymous with making top-tier cooling hardware. From air coolers to high-quality fans, Noctua consistently excels with every product they release. The same can also be said for their low-profile cooler, the Noctua NH-L9i chromax.black has already solidified its position as one of the best low-profile coolers.

Despite the disrepute, low-profile coolers such as the Noctua NH-L9i are perfectly suitable for handling mid-range processors as long as you don’t plan on performing heavy overclocking, and the NH-L9i serves as the perfect example for that.

Much like the rest of the products that are part of Noctua’s chromax.black series, the NH-L9i chromax.black also comes enveloped in a completely black coating. In spite of not featuring any RGB whatsoever, the black finish on the cooler is one of the most polished we have seen, making its sleek design one of its standout features.

As expected, its compact design has led to interesting design choices which work surprisingly well when combined with the NF-A9x14 HS PWN fan. The 92mm fan operates at fan speeds ranging from 600 to 2500 RPM. It utilizes Noctua’s SS02 bearings, providing a maximum airflow of 57.5m^3/h. The fan is also covered in a black finish to match the design of the rest of the cooler.

The fan also operates at low noise levels, generating a maximum output of 23.6 dBA, which can be further reduced by making use of the included low-noise adapter. Contributing further to its well-rounded performance are the two heat pipes present. Although the amount of heat pipes come nowhere close to full-sized coolers, they still manage to do a fairly efficient job of getting rid of the heat.

Perhaps the most astonishing fact about the cooler is its ridiculously compact size. Standing at a height of 37mm, the Noctua NH-L9i is one of the smallest coolers you can currently purchase. That also means that PC case compatibility and RAM clearance will naturally not be an issue whatsoever.

Given their impeccable track record, we expected Noctua to pack as much performance as they could into the NH-L9i, and they have achieved exactly that thanks to the small 92mm fan and the high-quality heat pipes. Its low noise operation and decent cooling performance make it a genuinely adequate option for modern processors. The addition of a low-noise adapter and the thermal paste further add to its already great value.

    Who Is It For

The Noctua NH-L9i is designed specifically for people looking for a small form factor cooler without compromising a ton on the actual performance. It guarantees low noise levels and lower temperatures while still fitting in the smallest of cases. Whether you’re interested in building a mini-ITX system or you just want a low-profile cooler that can handle the heat, the Noctua NH-L9i is definitely worth considering.

    What We Disliked

Unsurprisingly, its performance does fall pale in comparison to a much larger full-sized cooler; however, that is something that goes without saying. It is clear that performing any kind of overclocking with the Noctua NH-L9i will be completely out of the question. On top of that, fans of RGB lighting are bound to be disappointed by its looks since it comes with no RGB at all.

    Verdict

While its capabilities as a cooler are limited, it does a great job of holding its own against the behemoths of the PC cooling industry that currently dominates the market. Noctua’s efforts of providing such performance in a small form factor have definitely paid off, making it the Best Low-Profile CPU Cooler For Core i7-13700KF.

Do You Need A CPU Cooler For Core i7-13700KF?

It is clear that you don’t necessarily need a new cooler for the Core i7-13700KF, given that Intel has continued to use the same LGA 1700 socket for all of their 13th gen processors. Of course, all coolers that were previously compatible with the 12th-generation CPUs will work flawlessly on the newer ones as well. Even if you don’t possess the current mounting hardware required, an additional LGA 1700 mounting kit can easily be obtained by simply contacting your cooler manufacturer.

Having said that, it is worth looking into a potential CPU cooler upgrade if your current cooler does not possess enough cooling capabilities to fully withstand the Core i7-13700KF’s performance. How We Selected The Best CPU Coolers For Core i7-13700KF

In this section, we will walk you through several important factors which we considered when testing the best CPU coolers for Core i7-13700KF.

For more information, read our guide on How We Test CPU Coolers.

    Performance

Performance is something that can simply not be neglected in a cooler, especially considering the demanding nature of modern processors. A better-performing cooler ensures optimal temperatures without hindering the performance of the processor. Not only that, but a capable CPU cooler also makes overclocking possible, allowing you to get the most out of your processor.

    Budget

Before anything, it is important to settle on a specific budget in order to narrow down your options. It goes without saying that your budget can have a significant impact on the type of cooler you end up with. A higher budget will get you a higher-end cooler that performs exponentially better than its mid-range counterparts.

Having said that, the budget also depends on the processor and the type of workload you are working with. For the Core i7-13700KF, it is recommended to invest in a capable enough cooler that avoids issues such as thermal throttling. Additionally, if you want to overclock your CPU, then opting for a top-tier CPU cooler that provides you with enough thermal headroom is definitely recommended.

    TDP Rating

The TDP rating on a cooler is a direct representation of what kind of processors your CPU cooler is capable of handling. For instance, a cooler with a higher-rated TDP should theoretically be able to cool higher-end processors that draw a lot more power. Given the flawed calculation of TDP ratings, they have become somewhat inaccurate over the years. However, they still serve as great examples to evaluate your cooler’s capabilities.

    Noise Levels

The sound output of a cooler can make for a disruptive experience if it goes above a certain threshold. Recently, companies have started pushing a huge focus on reducing overall noise levels with Noctua, even including a separate low-noise adapter inside most of their coolers. CPU Coolers offering lower noise levels offer a much more pleasant working environment, which is why it is important to pick silent coolers, especially for anyone working in quieter spaces.

    Aesthetics

While the cooler’s appearance might not be the most crucial aspect to some people, to others, it can be a determining factor. The visual appeal of one’s cooler mostly comes down to personal preferences; however, factors such as RGB lighting, and color schemes, can have a huge impact on its overall looks. Even then, it is recommended to prioritize performance over the general design of the cooler.
