A modder from China, known as Qingchen DIY, has created a high-performance portable gaming console.
The device is equipped with powerful internal components, including an RTX 4090 laptop GPU and an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor.
The portable console features a large 12.5-inch Dell touchscreen with a 4K resolution.
A Chinese Modder, Qingchen DIY, has outperformed the portable console competition by including an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 laptop. That’s correct, a Chinese user has constructed the ultimate portable console. Not only is it the most powerful in the industry, but it is also the largest with the highest resolution on the market.
As he demonstrated in his video, the high-end PC hardware allows his console to be the first capable of running games like Cyberpunk 2077.
This portable console is based on the high-performance hardware of a gaming laptop. This console not only has a 24-core Intel Core i9-14900HX (8x P-Core and 16x E-Core). But also a powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU with 9,728 CUDA Cores and 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM memory. This hardware is accompanied by 64 GB of DDR5 RAM @ 5,600 MT/s and a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.
Another distinguishing feature is the Dell display. We are looking at a 12.5-inch IPS touch panel with a 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. So it’s consistent with the hardware of this portable console.
Despite this display of strength, the console’s design is rather decent. Obviously, we are ignoring the size because it is clear that they have adapted laptop hardware into a console-like design. That hardware already has a predetermined size, so at least it makes use of that to add a huge screen.
Another good thing about its size is that it provides good cooling. When playing God of War (2016) at 4K 100 FPS and Cyberpunk 2077 at +60 FPS, the CPU has about 65ºC, while the GPU moves around 72ºC, with a total power usage of 174W. These are excellent data points; however, the battery capacity and how long the battery will last are unknown.

Naughty Dog is currently working on two projects, including Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
An insider states that the second project is likely to be The Last of Us Part 3.
He expects Naughty Dog to release the game during the middle of the PS6 generation.
Naughty Dog announced its latest project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, nearly one full year ago. A few months later, the team also confirmed work on another game was moving along at the studio.
Previously, director Neil Druckmann stated that a third The Last of Us entry was being considered a few years back, suggesting Naughty Dog will eventually revisit The Last of Us. Elaborating on the future of the series, an insider states that the third game is still many years away.
Why it matters: The Last of Us Part 2 arrived just seven years after the first title, and the second game is already five years old at this point.
According to insider Detective Seeds, The Last of Us Part 3 is likely to be released at some point during the PS6 generation.
He believes that Naughty Dog’s unannounced project is the series’ third game, which will launch at the mid-point of the PS6 generation. This would mean that fans will not see a continuation of the IP till at least 2030.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is also expected to be a few years away from release. The game has been missing from significant events and PlayStation State of Plays since its reveal last year, suggesting that the release is at least a year or two away.
The Last Of Us Part 2 Ended The Story On A Sad Note
Naughty Dog itself has remained quiet about the series’ future.
The team continues to push the currently ongoing TV series and various re-releases of The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2 for now, and should the insider’s statement come to fruition, fans will have waited more than a decade for the follow-up to The Last of Us Part 2.
What do you think about the insider’s statement? Would you be fine waiting over a decade for the third entry in the IP? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Latency makes all the difference when playing a competitive game online.
The right connection can allow a player’s skills to shine, while a delayed experience can handicap even the best of players.
This is why relying on the right network is so important.
Gamers today prefer high-refresh-rate experiences and crisp gameplay that allows them to perform at their best. This matters even more for competitive titles, where each millisecond makes a huge difference.
A delayed response can often be the difference between life and death, so gamers do their best to minimize latency. Clearly, then, latency matters a lot and should be reduced as much as possible.
Why it matters: The entire industry is chasing the live-service and online multiplayer trend, so these games make up a huge part of the current market.
Fast Reactions Need Fast Connections
Games Like COD Demand Fast Reflexes
Lightning-fast response times are important for all types of games. Whether dodging a speeding bullet or attempting to land a complex combo in Tekken, a smooth and responsive connection is practically necessary for an uncompromised experience.
Even modern mobile games have become so competitive that each split-second matters. This is why many players rely on stable mobile networks and turn to options like esims, which forego the need for a physical sim card.
Esims typically allow for space-saving and flexibility, and this strength makes them ideal for those on the go. They are also widely supported by various carriers and smartphones and boast strong performance, so options like a Hong Kong esim while travelling are ideal for minimizing lag during competitive sessions of games like Call of Duty Mobile.
Mental Toll of Milliseconds In Competitive Play
To experienced gamers, even a delay as small as 50 milliseconds can feel huge. Seeing an in-game character moving half a second later than anticipated immediately feels off, harming the overall immersion factor of a game.
Moreover, high latency introduces unpredictability. This inconsistency can prove quite frustrating, particularly when players know they are held back by the connection rather than their skills.
Moreover, a single player’s poor connection can impact an entire team since delayed communication or late movement can throw off strategies. This is why serious gamers invest in better networks.
Gameplay Speed Is Critical
A responsive game is always better than a sluggish one. Even if a game has best-in-class visuals, it can only do so much without instant feedback and responses. This is precisely why developers work hard to reduce input lag, server delay, and rendering time.
Of course, the player’s connection serves an important role here. Even the most optimized game won’t run well on a laggy network, so internet service and location become more important than most expect.
Reliable infrastructure and local server access, especially in places like Hong Kong, make all the difference.
Better Performance For Mobile Gaming
COD Mobile Can Be Seriously Competitive At Times
Mobile gaming has expanded significantly over the last few years. Whether it be a big-budget title like Call of Duty Warzone or a gacha game like Dragon Ball Legends, many games offer serious competitive PvP experiences on the platform.
Phones and tablets have also become incredibly powerful, with some, like the iPhone 15 Pro, even running AAA console games. Therefore, this platform deserves more powerful tools for online play.
Unfortunately, Wi-Fi signals and cellular networks can be inconsistent and cause unexpected lag at times. This is especially noticeable in places with lots of travellers or tourists, like Hong Kong, and using a service like an esim can help maintain a more stable link.
Developers Prefer Low Latency
Game developers know how crucial latency is, so they invest heavily in netcode, prediction models, and server locations. Their ultimate goal is to make actions feel immediate and synchronized across all Hong Kong players.
Still, even the best-optimized game can’t compensate for a poor connection. This is where hardware, routers, and stable internet connections come in and determine the end results of online gaming.
All in all, switching to a fast connection can be a game-changer, so gamers visiting cities like Hong Kong should consider reliable options such as a Hong Kong esim. If the end goal is to win as many matches as possible, a smooth connection means that the first step toward such a goal has already been taken.

Following the success of Black Myth: Wukong, more Chinese developers are emerging.
A Chinese developer has just recently unveiled a new game, The Lost Heaven.
This game shares many similarities with The Last of Us series, including the presence of robots.
Of course, we can’t expect groundbreaking hits like this every other month, but Chinese developers aren’t slowing down. Phantom Blade Zero is already shaping up to be another major contender, and now, yet another studio has stepped into the spotlight with an ambitious new project.
Their game, The Lost Heaven, draws clear inspiration from The Last of Us but adds its own twist: giant robots.
While there are some controversies regarding part 2, many gamers love The Last of Us Series, and rightfully so. Given how much the series is loved, it would make sense why developers would take it as an inspiration.
The upcoming Chinese title The Lost Heaven recently received a gameplay demo, offering a glimpse of what’s in store. It’s a narrative-driven, post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure where players must survive in a world teetering on the brink of collapse.
The Lost Heaven’s Combat Feels Solid Even In The Demo.
In that sense, it looks similar to The Last of Us, but there are robots, even as companions. The traversal may not be as smooth, but it is still a work in progress, and it can get a lot better. The combat, on the other hand, seems pretty solid, especially the melee part, as you can feel each blow landing.
The gunplay also looks promising, and it feels like a linear game. The game doesn’t have a release date, but from the title of the YouTube video, it seems like it is targeting a 2026 release window.
At T4G, my task is to cover the latest news around the gaming globe ASAP and with the utmost precision. I adore all the games and respect all the devs behind the amazing games that we get all year. So, whether it’s a PC or a Console game, I got it all covered.

Zotac AMP Extreme 5090 catches fire allegedly due to design flaws with the GPU.
The very short distance between PCB and DrMOS leaves little room for heat dissipation.
This is a serious issue that the company should look into, considering it’s their top offering.
Nvidia’s top-tier cards, for the last few generations, have been notorious for high temperatures and burning. This issue has been relatively consistent since the company introduced the new 12V2X6 connector; however, this time the culprit was something else.
A user has reported that their Zotac AMP Extreme RTX 5090 caught fire during Battlefield 6 gameplay. In the middle of the session, the game froze, and the GPU caught fire, even damaging other components inside the case.
Why it matters: Stability and power delivery issues have been a massive issue for GPUs like the RTX 5090 and 4090, but this time, a major issue is also the design of Zotac’s top-tier offering.
Zotac RTX 5090 catches fire due to a design flaw while playing Battlefield 6.
While in most cases, RTX 5090 catches fire due to the connector problems, this time it is due to a design flaw in the power delivery circuit for the Zotac AMP Extreme card. It has very little PCB edge distance around the DrMOS components, causing thermal issues.
For context, the MSI RTX 5090 SUPRIM SOC has an edge distance of about 5.8mm, whereas the Zotac card only has about 3.8mm. This offers less room for heat flow, which causes the temperatures to rise above normal.
Only ~3.84mm separates the DrMOS’s lower edge from the board edge on the Zotac RTX 5090 AMP
According to Igor’s Lab’s findings, the annealing color on the GPU’s metal indicates it hit a temperature of over 300°C. The initial trigger could be a short circuit in the DrMOS, and due to less room for heat escape, it eventually caught fire.
Additionally, the GPU was undervolted, which can cause instability in some instances. However, in this case, it mostly feels like a design error, and Zotac should look into solving it if it wants to avoid similar cases in the future.
What are your thoughts on the design flaw in Zotac RTX 5090, leading it to catch fire? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the Tech4Gamers forum.

Battlefield 6 beta has resulted in EA’s stock to surge by a massive 10% compared to the last week.
EA’s stock has reached an all-time high at $176.11.
Battlefield 6 is speculated to become this year’s biggest release with the beta already outpacing Call of Duty.
The first week of Battlefield 6 beta is officially over and the game has already broken several records. From beating Call of Duty’s concurrent player peak in just days to having thousands of players waiting in queue to play the game, Battlefield 6 is making huge waves.
Despite not having been fully released, Battlefield 6 surged EA’s stock to an all-time high with a gigantic rise of almost 10% in just a week.
Why it matters: The Battlefield franchise has been struggling for the past few years, that is, until now. Being the biggest franchise under EA, the game’s performance will undoubtedly help the publisher bounce back from recent setbacks.
EA’s Market Value Benefitted From Battlefield 6
On Monday, 11 August, EA’s stock reached $176.11, bringing the overall market capitalisation to $41.94 billion. The stock was boosted by 5% from Sunday and overall by 10% from last week.
The overall share cost has increased by almost $16 in just a week. Analysts predict that the stocks could rise as much as $210.00 and as little as $127.00. The general consensus is a percentage decrease of 2.02% from the current stock price of $176.11.
The second beta, scheduled from the 14th to the 17th, will introduce important changes and upgrades from the current version.
Battlefield 6 Shows That Xbox Series S Is A Capable Enough Console
Although not perfect, the Battlefield 6 beta was surprisingly stable, especially considering it was a beta version and nearly three months older than the current build EA is developing.
For this year, Battlefield 6 is expected to boot stomp Call of Duty, with the latter franchise going downhill for the past few entries. EA has the perfect opportunity to capitalise and once again bring some proper competition to the FPS genre, which has been becoming quite stale recently.

A former Rockstar developer believes GTA 6 needs to bring major improvements to combat gameplay.
He points to Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 as an example of solid melee gameplay.
The developer believes Rockstar can perfect such a system.
Rockstar has shown plenty of in-game GTA 6 footage already, but the developer has yet to share uncut gameplay. Between small snippets of gameplay in the last two trailers and past leaks, fans have a general idea of how the game will play, but one question remains unanswered.
Many are wondering how GTA 6 will handle its melee combat, and a former Rockstar developer believes the team should take a page out of Naughty Dog’s book to improve on the combat.
Why it matters: Despite its many strengths, the Grand Theft Auto franchise has always been weak in terms of hand-to-hand combat.
Mike York previously worked as an animator on titles like GTA 5 and God of War Ragnarok.
Recently, he discussed the combat system in GTA 6 and reflected on elements that could be improved from Red Dead Redemption 2. He noted that Rockstar made various strides in terms of combat with Red Dead Redemption 2, but the game’s melee gameplay still felt a bit too slow and realistic.
Mike York then pointed to The Last of Us Part 2’s gameplay, discussing how the combat animations momentarily speed up for a heightened sense of pace and impact. He believes something similar could work well for GTA 6, given the game’s satirical and arcady nature compared to Rockstar’s last AAA offering.
Furthermore, Mike York noted in the comments that a team like Rockstar would be able to polish Naughty Dog’s core gameplay style further.
I’m really hoping we get a combat system similar to that (The Last of Us Part 2).
-Mike York
The Last Of Us Part 2 Did A lot of Things Right In The Gameplay Department
Because Naughty Dog’s gameplay has always been a strong part of its offerings, the developer’s statement is not too shocking. Compared to The Last of Us Part 2, GTA 5’s combat felt floaty and lacking in impact, but Rockstar is expected to make several changes for the next title.
GTA 6 seems to be bringing back gym mechanics and fighting styles from GTA San Andreas, setting the stage for more complex hand-to-hand fights.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the most hated game of 2024.
As a result, BioWare’s relationship with EA appears to have deteriorated.
A veteran from BioWare asks the developers working on Mass Effect 5 to blame everything on Veilguard and get what they want from EA.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard was arguably a failure by BioWare, which was pretty well known for the franchise. It was voted the most disappointing game of 2024, as fans were extremely unhappy with it.
The game’s writing was the main issue, and every writer who worked on it was fired by BioWare. So, EA won’t be happy with the developer after such a colossal failure, which is why a BioWare veteran has some advice for them. He urges the developers working on Mass Effect 5 to scapegoat Veilguard as much as possible to get what they want.
Why it matters: Dragon Age: The Veilguard is arguably one of the biggest failures in the history of gaming. So, using it as a scapegoat isn’t actually a bad idea.
MrMattyPlays recently interviewed Mark Darah, a BioWare veteran, on YouTube. Darah shared some insights into the current state of BioWare and the development of Mass Effect 5, the next major game from the developer.
EA is notorious for its attitude toward developers, as it openly hates failure. Many developers have found it difficult to work with the publisher. Also, it seems the developer will steer away from some aspects of The Veilguard, which attracted negative reception, so maybe there won’t be a forced agenda this time.
As EA is hard to work with and, according to some reports, the publisher continuously interfered with the development of The Veilguard, Darah urges the developers working on Mass Effect 5 to blame the game as much as possible.
I would honestly encourage that team to scapegoat Veilguard as much as they need to, to get what they need from the organisation, whether it’s true or not.
In the same interview, he also said that the publisher wouldn’t know greenlight remasters or remakes of the first three Dragon Age games. This shows that EA has little to no hope from BioWare.

Nintendo has sold a total of 860 million console units since its shift to the gaming industry.
The company has also sold nearly 6 billion pieces of software.
Sony is the closest competitor in terms of hardware sales, with over 600 million units sold.
Nintendo has been dominating the gaming industry for multiple decades. The gaming giant may be best known for the likes of the Switch, Game Boy, DS, and the Wii today, but it released its first-ever console almost half a century ago.
This also means that Nintendo has sold the most consoles of any company in the industry. When put together, no other competitor even comes close since Nintendo has sold nearly 1 billion consoles altogether.
Nintendo Was The First To Realize Gaming’s True Potential
Nintendo has revealed new sales figures for the gaming business. As per these statistics, a total of 860 million consoles have been sold by the company since 1983.
On the other hand, the gaming giant has sold over 5.9 billion software units since then, putting it in a league of its own. These figures also earn the company the title of best-selling console brand.
To date, Nintendo has sold over 5.9 billion video games and over 860 million hardware units.
For comparison, PlayStation has sold around 630 million consoles since its inception in 1994. Both gaming giants have gone toe-to-toe in the home console market on several occasions, but Nintendo’s unique position in the handheld market gave it an edge over the years.
The likes of Sega and Xbox have also tried to compete in the hardware market but have been left in the dust. On the software front, Nintendo continues to produce ground-breaking titles that sell millions of copies.
In particular, the gaming giant’s ability to keep legacy IPs like Mario and Zelda relevant throughout the decades has netted incredible results, leading to these figures.
Nintendo Has The Competition Beat
With the Switch 2 shaping up to be yet another hit for the company, this lead will only grow larger. Perhaps the gaming giant will also hit the 1 billion console sales mark in the next few years.

In Woods is an RPG that combines crafting and rogue-like gameplay for a unique combination.
The forest setting and wood are integral to the gameplay, emphasizing a major focus on crafting various items.
Magic items add further variety to the gameplay, creating opportunities for build-crafting and experimentation.
RPGs are some of the most popular games today, and they offer all types of experiences. From medieval conquests to sci-fi adventures, RPGs provide an incredible amount of diversity, and one particular release aims to take things one step further.
In Woods, available to play on Steam, is more of a fun and relaxing RPG than the rest. Set in a forest, it offers an enthralling experience of fighting against hordes of enemies.
Why it matters: Indie games have come a long way in 2025 due to a more creative and risk-focused approach. This makes them worth trying, often over major AAA releases.
Craft And Fight
In Woods is a rogue-like at heart, but it also offers a slew of survival gameplay mechanics.
As the name suggests, the game offers players the opportunity to craft a variety of items using wood. These items can range from standard battle axes and spears to more rare equipment like a Power Glove or a Necklace.
Items like these offer stat boosts and buffs that come in handy during tough combat encounters, with the Flute decreasing enemy movement speed and each Book buffing magical damage.
These items become extremely important once the final boss arrives, and those who can best the boss can achieve even better rewards.
Create A Strong Build
Using In Wood’s Magic Is The Key To Victory
Part of improving anIn Woods build requires the use of Magic Items. However, these are locked behind certain enemy milestones, upon completing which, even more powerful items are unlocked.
It’s also a good idea to use weapons that best suit specific play styles. Here, experimenting comes in handy since each build offers something unique. Moreover, Endless mode is yet another intriguing part of the In Woods experience.
Thanks to an ongoing fight against monsters and tree respawns, this mode is perfect for those who already have a firm grasp of the basic combat system. Collecting wood is also incredibly easy in Endless mode.
To make the player experience even better, In Woods has recently received updates adding new monsters to the game. Moreover, various Quality of Life changes have also been made, including an improved Settings menu and a new Start page.

Naughty Dog hired Michael Ewert to work on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet seven months ago.
The developer previously worked on Rockstar Games’ world-class physics engine, contributing to GTA 4, GTA 5, and Red Dead Redemption.
He will likely make similar contributions to the physics systems of future Naughty Dog titles.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet was showcased last year and marks Naughty Dog’s first new IP in well over a decade. This project has been described as being very ambitious, stirring excitement within the gaming industry.
The title is expected to be a few years away from release, but recent hiring activity from the studio suggests the team is making the right calls. Naughty Dog has now hired Michael Ewert, a veteran from Rockstar Games, to work on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
Why it matters: Rockstar Games is known for recruiting the best talent in the industry and has a history of critically acclaimed releases.
Michael Ewert Has Been Working At Naughty Dog For 7 Months | Image via LinkedIn
Michael Ewert’s LinkedIn profile shows he joined Naughty Dog in February 2025. The developer has joined the team as a Senior Physics Programmer, which is good news given that his experience speaks for itself.
Michael Ewert previously worked on the physics for various Rockstar Games titles between 2004 and 2007. These included GTA 4, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption, and even the studio’s underrated table tennis game.
While the physics systems in all of these titles are impressive in their own right, GTA 4’s physics systems stood out in particular. Ragdolls, driving physics, and more were all portrayed realistically in the game, something that still holds up to this day.
Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis was also explicitly designed to test the studio’s physics engine at the time, so Michael Ewert boasts plenty of experience with world-class physics programming.
His inclusion in the Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet team could mean that Naughty Dog is upping its own physics systems. The team has traditionally done a great job in this area, but Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet seems to be learning from the best of the industry.
Intergalactic Is Expected To Arrive In A Few Years
Besides Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Naughty Dog is also planning other future titles at the moment. Therefore, Michael Ewert’s contributions to the studio’s physics engine may even come in handy for future titles, like they did for Rockstar Games.
