RTX 5090 Users Unable To Access Silent Hill f Due To A Massive Bug

Story Highlight
  • Multiple RTX 5090 users on Steam have complained that Silent Hill f is crashing for them.
  • A bug seems to be causing the crash, and only fixes when graphics are dialed down.
  • It is yet another instance of an Unreal Engine 5 game with performance issues.

Silent Hill f just launched into early access, and it’s already being called the best game in the franchise. However, as with most modern releases, Konami’s latest game is also encountering some optimization problems in early access.

According to multiple Nvidia Geforce RTX 5090 users, the game is crashing for them, making it almost unplayable. Users report that once the first cutscene starts, the game crashes and shuts down for them.

Why it matters: Silent Hill f seems to be mostly trouble-free free but this one bug is massive as it makes it unplayable; however, it also retains the same Unreal Engine 5 issues as seen with previous titles.

Silent Hill f crashing at launch for RTX 5090 users

A user took to the Steam discussions to point out that Silent Hill f is crashing for them on their RTX 5090 GPU. This has turned into a widespread issue as multiple other users also verified the statement, as they faced the issue as well.

While some can access the early stages of the game, for others, it crashes right at launch. The only fix has been to dial down the graphics quite a lot, but that presents a huge graphical fidelity loss, which is terrible for a high-end GPU.

Silent Hill f is another instance of UE5 showing performance issues

This will undoubtedly be fixed through a patch at full release, but it’s frustrating for the early access users. Another reason could be that Nvidia is yet to launch game-ready drivers for Silent Hill f as it’s still in early access.

Nonetheless, we are seeing more and more performance issues with the new title based on Unreal Engine 5. A similar trend was also observed for Metal Gear Solid Remake, and this is the case with most games developed using the tech.

Black Ops 7 Follows Battlefield 6 Footsteps With Secure Boot Requirement For Beta

Story Highlight
  • Activision has updated the Ricochet anti-cheat for Black Ops 7.
  • The upcoming beta and full game will not be playable without enabling Secure Boot and TPM 2.0.
  • The Battlefield 6 beta came with a similar requirement, upsetting many players.

Black Ops 7 has become one of Activision’s most controversial entries for the franchise. Following mass dislike-bombings and comparisons to Battlefield 6, the game is ready to kick off its first beta soon.

Ahead of this beta, Activision has also confirmed new requirements for the game’s updated anti-cheat, including Secure Boot and TPM 2.0

Why it matters: Secure Boot gives the anti-cheat kernel-level access to PCs in an attempt to prevent cheating altogether. However, many gamers are not fond of this idea.

According to Activision, players looking to play Black Ops 7 during the beta period or later must enable Secure Boot and TPM 2.0.

Past Call of Duty titles will still function properly without these settings enabled, but players will not be able to launch Black Ops 7 unless Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 are enabled. As per Activision, this change will allow players to experience the best possible version of Black Ops 7.

This situation is similar to that of Battlefield 6’s anti-cheat controversy. Although Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 are not too difficult to enable, many users ended up with bricked PC components due to the lack of universal instructions.

Moreover, cheaters were still seen in the Battlefield 6 beta, so fans were not too impressed with the Javelin anti-cheat. Considering Black Ops 7 already has plenty of ill will toward it, this step might attract further controversy for the game.

The game’s latest multiplayer trailer has also been subject to criticism, with many veterans stating that they will not be buying this particular Call of Duty entry. This negativity, combined with the new requirements, could dissuade players from jumping into Black Ops 7 over the coming months.

Still, for those looking to learn how to enable Secure Boot, follow this link to our guide covering the subject.

The Black Ops 7 Beta Kicks Off Next Month

Also, the updated anti-cheat could address Call of Duty’s cheating problem. As one of the most popular multiplayer experiences on the market, this series has been quite prone to cheaters and hackers lately, so it will be interesting to see how the beta goes when it kicks off on October 2.

What do you make of Call of Duty’s new anti-cheat requirement? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Hideo Kojima Teases Next-Gen Graphics With First Look At Physint For PS6

Story Highlight
  • Kojima Productions recently shared several details about future plans, including those related to Physint.
  • Kojima also showed a demo facial model for Physint, teasing the visual technology of the PS6.
  • The game is expected to take at least five years, so it will target next-generation hardware from PlayStation.

Hideo Kojima has shared a slew of new information regarding the future of Kojima Productions recently. In addition to trailers for the Death Stranding anime and OD, the iconic developer has shared new details on Physint.

Kojima Productions has also shown what next-gen visuals on the PS6 could look like.

Why it matters: Fans worldwide are excited about Physint due to the similarities between this IP and Metal Gear Solid, with the veteran developer returning to the roots of espionage action.

Discussing Physint, Hideo Kojima confirmed that actors like Don Lee, Charlee Fraser, and Minami Hamabe would be part of the game.

He then showed an in-engine CGI render of Miname Hamabe, portraying how detailed Physint’s recreations of these actors aim to be. According to Kojima, this shot is more proof-of-concept for future technology.

Moreover, Physint’s release is at least 5 years away, so the game is expected to target PS6 hardware. This is why Hideo Kojima’s vision for the game takes PlayStation’s upcoming hardware into account, with this demo highlighting what next-gen graphics on the PS6 could look like.

The developer also noted that in-game visuals would still differ from the showcased demo. However, the studio is certainly shooting for the sky as it continues to push visual technology and storytelling further.

Moving forward, the team will pursue further groundbreaking innovation and technical developments.

Death Stranding 2 already impressed with its visuals on multiple fronts, but it seems Kojima Productions is far from finished. If the small teaser is anything to go by, Physint will serve as yet another mind-blowing visual experience for the fans.

What do you think about the studio’s plans? Are you excited about the director’s return to espionage-focused gameplay? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Hideo Kojima’s OD Gets New Trailer At Kojima Productions Tenth Anniversary

Story Highlight
  • OD just got its first trailer following the teaser at TGA in 2023.
  • The trailer follows Sophia Lillis’ character going into an abandoned building and trying to light candles.
  • The game currently has no release date and stars Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier.

Hideo Kojima is arguably the most recognisable name in the gaming world, and his reputation is only gaining more traction as he continues to release genre-bending experiences like Death Stranding 2. The auteur is one of the only developers in the industry trying to innovate and push the medium forward.

Kojima has a myriad of projects in the works, and by far the most exciting among them is OD, his upcoming collaboration with Xbox Game Studios that just got its first major trailer.

Why it matters: Considering how Kojima’s last horror game got cancelled abruptly, it’s nice to see that OD is still in the works amid fears it would suffer the same fate.

At the tenth anniversary event for Kojima Productions, the Japanese developer gave us a glimpse of OD, with Phil Spencer also in attendance. The 3-minute trailer starred Sophia Lillis going into a building and trying to light up candles that turned into worms.

Previously, only a minute-long concept teaser had been released for OD with no CGI or gameplay. But this trailer did delve a little bit into the game’s horror setting while also giving us cryptic messaging that hardcore fans will be trying to solve.

Furthermore, Sophia Lillis’ face was only visible for a couple of seconds in the trailer. Still, fans are already calling it the best face model ever built in a video game engine. As of now, we aren’t sure if the OD footage is in-engine, but if it is, we are definitely in for a horror classic from Hideo Kojima.

OD was stalled for a little bit last year, as per Kojima, and there were even rumors of cancellation. Hence, it’s nice to see proof of this anticipated video game finally coming to light, and considering how enticing Kojima’s Death Stranding 2 was, players are right to look forward to OD and Physint.

Do you think OD is going to be a commercial and critical success? Tell us in the comments below or head to the Tech4Gamers forum for discussion.

Death Stranding Mosquito Anime Film Trailer Impresses With Bold Art Style and New Storyline

Story Highlight
  • Death Stranding Mosquito trailer debuted at the Beyond The Strand event.
  • The anime film features a brand-new storyline with an antagonist who is also a Repatriate, like Sam Porter.
  • Aside from an anime film, a live-action Death Stranding film is also in the works at A24 Films.

Kojima Productions is dropping a multitude of projects in the next few years that won’t just be limited to video game titles. The Death Stranding games are set to become a full-fledged franchise with anime and film projects releasing soon.

For the studio’s 10th anniversary, a special showcase titled ‘Beyond The Strand’ was held today to give a glimpse of what’s to come next. Kojima Productions debuted a trailer for the Death Stranding Mosquito anime film that has stunned with its bold art style.

Why it matters: Anime and Live-action adaptations of video games are always welcomed by gamers, giving these rich IPs a chance to be explored by audiences outside of the gaming world, too.

The trailer showcases a brand-new antagonist who appears to be a Repatriate just like Sam Porters. The 2:15 footage focuses on the clash between the two Repatriates, featuring some unique-looking visuals and shades that appear relatively fresh for anime films.

Nevertheless, Death Stranding Mosquito appears to be focusing on a brand-new storyline, but it’s unknown how it’ll fit into the overarching narrative of the series. Moreover, a release date for the film hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Death Stranding Mosquito is currently the working title for the anime movie and is being written by Aaron Guzikowski, who is best known for his work on 2013’s Prisoners. ABC ANIMATION STUDIO will produce the film.

Facial Models Don’t Get More Realistic Than This.

Beyond this anime film, a trailer and concept art for the Xbox-funded OD were also showcased at the event, which survived the recent Xbox purge. Kojima Productions also laid out their plans for the next 20 years, which are filled with surprises.

Currently, a live-action Death Stranding film is also in early development at A24 films, and Hideo Kojima almost directed it. Anyhow, both these projects seem to be in safe hands.

Can You Play Games on a 300$ PC in 2025?

Story Highlights
  • With Intel i7-7700k/8700k, 32GB RAM, 1080 Ti, and a 2TB HDD, you can get over 182 FPS at 1080p and 117 FPS at 1440p, on average.
  • For older single-player games, you can opt for even the highest settings, but for competitive games or modern titles, reducing the settings can be beneficial.
  • This isn’t the right one for you if you prefer a future-proof set. But if you’re looking for older or single-player games, then this is the best option for you.

When you think of gaming in 2025, you think of a high-end GPU, the latest processor, all the RAM slots occupied with the beefiest memory sticks, and a brand new chunky motherboard—all of which provide the highest framerates for your games.

While this assumption isn’t far from the truth when it comes to high-end gaming performance, what’s surprising is that you can still get over 60 FPS in most games with a $300 gaming PC.

What A $300 PC Will Get You In 2025

When I’m talking about a $300 PC, I’m not at all referring to a pre-built one because that might have lower performance. Instead, I’m talking about building one on your own with the used components that still get games running smoothly, even at higher resolutions. To elaborate, the specs I’m talking about are the:

All of it costs somewhere around the $300 price range. Many of these components are older, with the 1080 Ti being nearly a decade old. But despite its low price, don’t expect extremely poor performance.

GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
GTX 1080 Ti (Image By Tech4Gamers)

Far Cry 5 & Apex Legends

When you put together the aforementioned components, you get around a $300 gaming PC. Here’s how it performs. In games like Far Cry 5, you easily get around 147 FPS at 1080p, 109 FPS at 1440p, and around 58 FPS at 4K. All of this is set at the highest possible setting, which is impressive to see from a nearly decade-old card.

The same is with Apex Legends, where you will get framerates ranging from 115 FPS to 144 FPS, depending on where you are in the map. And all of it is operated at 1440p on a 144Hz monitor.

So, reducing the resolution will get you more framerates if that’s you’re preference. The framerates will drop at the beginning of the map before you jump out, but they ramp back up to the standard high one.

The setting is a blend of mainly high, some medium, and a few low options to maximise the performance. Since it’s a competitive game, you can lower the settings even further to squeeze every possible frame rate. Still, with these settings, you’re getting decent performance without sacrificing any visuals.

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider & Cyberpunk 2077

Next up, Shadow of the Tomb Raider at the highest settings at 1080p on this rig gives you 127 FPS, whereas at 1440p, you get 87 FPS, and at 4K, you’re down to 44 FPS. This goes to show that even on a $300 PC, you can still enjoy the stunning visuals without ray tracing enabled

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider On GTX 1080 Ti (Image By Tech4Gamers)

Next up on Cyberpunk 2077, the performance you’ll get on this rig will blow your mind, especially considering how affordable this setup is. At 1440p, you’ll regularly get over 50 FPS at the highest settings.

And the game looks stunning even without the ray tracing enabled. The experience is rather enjoyable, and if you hook up a controller, then this 10 FPS gap isn’t even noticeable, as it feels like you’re playing at 60 FPS.

Sure, you can reduce the settings to get better performance, but it is a smooth experience nonetheless. With an HDD, though, the world around you loads after you’ve sped past it in a car, but that is available if you extend the budget slightly by getting an NVMe SSD instead of the HDD. I recommend you get one from T-Force

T-Force NVMe SSD (Image By Tech4Gamers)

Should You Build A $300 Gaming PC?

If you want it for casual use, occasional gaming, and primarily single-player or older games, then this $300 PC is all you need. The only thing I recommend is that you consider swapping the HDD with an SSD, even if it means exceeding the budget slightly. This way, you really get the best out of this rig while being around the $300 price range, even in 2025.

What’s The Next Best Thing To A $300 Gaming PC?

But if you want to play modern AAA titles and want them to remain future-proof, then this budget PC may not suffice your needs. For that, you don’t need to splurge on a $1000 PC. Instead, you’re better off investing extra money in building a $500 gaming PC

How Silent Hill f Connects Puzzles to Personal Trauma

Story Highlights
  • Silent Hill f uses puzzles to reflect the protagonist’s inner trauma.
  • Locks, riddles, and fragments symbolize suppressed memories and fears.
  • Slow puzzle solving forces players to confront aspects causing discomfort rather than escaping them.
  • The puzzles in the game are tied to themes of shame and guilt tied to the protagonist.

The Silent Hill series has always been top of the shelf in the horror genre since its first game in 1999. The series has stood apart from others in its genre by incorporating puzzles into its gameplay.

Unlike in other horror games, where puzzles feel like obstacles, Silent Hill uses them to showcase the psyche of its characters. With the new entry, Silent Hill f set in 1960s Japan, soon to be released puzzles will be even more intertwined with the themes of personal trauma of the protagonist.

Puzzles In the Series

In classic Silent Hill, puzzles weren’t just a gimmick. They served as mirrors into the character’s emotional struggles. Riddles referenced guilt, locked doors symbolized oppression, and fragmented text allowed players to piece together painful truths about the character’s past.

It was all done so that the player could get to know the character better and form a sorta kinda emotional bond with them. The series has a history of making players feel a certain type of way for its characters. Even the trailer for the game was deeper than most perceived it to be, and the puzzles dive even deeper into feelings of dread.

The characters in the series have always been deranged, unreliable, mentally unstable, and driven by personal failures. The series does an amazing job of showcasing the struggles of its characters through puzzles, and Silent Hill f is no exception.

Trauma made Tangible

Silent Hill f is set in a period of change and social pressure in Japan, allowing the game to tie puzzle mechanics to personal wounds. To elaborate, locks, torn notes, and distorted symbols can be seen as literal barriers created by the protagonist’s suppressed feelings and memories.

Silent Hill F Combat

Solving these puzzles isn’t just about progression in the game. It’s about confronting something that was hidden, continuously denied, and shoved under the rug by the protagonist. Each solution helps the player understand the broken mind of the character better.

Japanese Culture’s Influence

Japanese traditions build on how trauma manifests in Silent Hill f. Designers draw puzzles from traditional motifs such as family shrines, broken calligraphy, or ritualistic patterns. In Silent Hill f players face puzzles that draw on aspects of trauma, generational guilt, and shame.

However, what may seem like a normal puzzle turns disturbing when it starts to reflect the weight of a person’s personal struggle mixed with societal pressure. These puzzles don’t just serve as an obstacle to progress in the game; they get under your skin by being too relatable at times.

Emotional Weight

The Puzzles in the game will generate discomfort from how they slow players down. During fight-or-flight moments, the game forces players to pause, think, and confront representations of trauma. This slow pacing forces players into a confrontation with unease. This tends to mirror how unresolved trauma and issues resist being ignored or rushed.

By making use of puzzles, Silent Hill f shows that horror isn’t all about what lurks in the shadows. Sometimes what’s scarier is what lies within the mind. The game isn’t all about fighting monsters; it’s about confronting yourself as the character.

Sometimes we hide our problems and try to escape from them. However, Silent Hill f shows that at times when you want to rise above, you have to address emotional baggage. It was reported that even the actress for the role of Hinako felt her sanity slipping away while making the game by getting too lost in her role.

Final Thoughts

The gameplay of Silent Hill f showcases that Puzzles are not a diversion. They serve as a means to get to know the character better and are a great means of storytelling. The game creates a lingering feeling and is something that will stick with you even after you’re done playing.

With Silent Hill f days from being released, it is evident that it will be one of the most memorable entries to the beloved series. All to do now is wait and see how the game pans out, having high expectations.

Is The Logitech G502 Lightspeed Still Worth It In 2025?

Story Highlights
  • The G502 Lightspeed has 11 programmable buttons, including a sniper button that reduces 100-200 DPI, which gives you an unfair advantage.
  • It is on the heavier side, weighing around 114 grams, but it is great for first-person shooters due to its stable and precise tracking at higher DPI.
  • Its ergonomic shape is not only good for productivity but also comfortable to use in gaming, and it’s less fatiguing than a lighter mouse even in 2025.

The Logitech G502 series has been quite iconic, with the G502 being the initial contender. Its wireless counterpart, the Logitech G502 Lightspeed, is still being cherished, but is it worth it in 2025? Let’s find out.

Logitech G502 Lightspeed (Image By Tech4Gamers)
Logitech G502 Lightspeed (Image By Tech4Gamers)

G502 Lightspeed

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room: this mouse is not light by any means, as it weighs 114 grams. This puts this mouse to shame, especially considering that we have lightweight mice that even go below 40 grams.

Weight

But even if we take the average gaming mouse that is being used as the primary peripheral for games, it weighs around 60 grams. So the G502 Lightspeed is still nearly double the weight of the average gaming mouse currently.

Not only that, but Logitech has included five 3.6 grams of additional weight that you can add to the mouse to make it even heavier, either on the bottom side, the middle side, or both. But in my opinion, these weights are totally useless for gaming since the weights are already on the heavier side.

Feet (Image By Tech4Gamers)
Feet (Image By Tech4Gamers)

For gaming, a higher DPI will do the job for you because it will complement the heavier weight of this mouse. Not only that, the heavier weight allows for smoother and stable tracking of your enemies, which I find to be fatiguing in lightweight mice.

Programmable Buttons

There are also 11 programmable buttons on this mouse, which is a huge advantage in gaming. Unlike the standard two side buttons, you also get two buttons on the edge of your right mouse button.

Additionally, there is a sniper button on the side, which reduces your DPI from 100-200, allowing you to have a more precise ADS or zoom-in aim in games. This gives you an unfair advantage against other players who’re using mice without this feature, even in 2025.

Shape (Image By Tech4Gamers)
Extra Buttons (Image By Tech4Gamers)

However, I found that it is a bit harder to reach for medium hands, but then again, it is better in a way because it reduces the chances of miss-clicking it between one-on-one enemy encounters.

It does have the tilted mouse scroll click, which is also programmable, and it also gives you more access to keys. I’ve found that right-clicking is beneficial because it does the job without lifting your fingers off.

Ergonomic Shape

Its huge thumb rest and ergonomic shape are a big upside when it comes to gaming. I’ve had cramps in my fingers using a symmetric 60-gram mouse like the Razer Viper Mini, and the G502 Lightspeed is strikingly comfortable to use.

Palm Grip
Ergonomic Shape (Image By Tech4Gamers)

For productivity, this mouse is a treat as well. The heavier weight actually adds to the mouse’s precision, which is essential for most users who already use a heavier mouse. The inclusion of the hyperscroll wheel is also a plus for productivity users.

And even without the infinity scroll wheel, the standard scroll is also extremely satisfying, featuring stops on the wheel where you can feel the texture with a thick tactility. Its ergonomic shape is also a plus for productivity users who can go on for hours without much strain.

Battery Life & Polling Rate

It has a battery life of up to 60 hours without RGB and up to 48 hours with RGB, which I think is limiting compared to the mice we have in the market today, which are cheaper with a better battery life.

All Contents In Box (Image By Tech4Gamers)

It has a polling rate of 1000Hz, which is still great if you have a 144Hz monitor, but if you have something above that, then the 8000Hz polling rate mice would be your best option. These two areas are where the G502 Lighspeed lacks.

Drawback: Double-Clicking Issue

With the immense value this mouse comes with, there is a serious drawback to the entire G502 series: the double-clicking issue. Users have reported that they faced the double-clicking issue shortly after they got the mouse.

While some got this issue after 100+ clicks, others got it after 3 years of using it; however, most people have tried a quick hack that ended up fixing the problem. Some people gave a hard smack on the mouse, and it ended up fixing it.

But that is more of a temporary fix, so it isn’t as reliable. Many have blown air directly between the button and the mouse, and that seemed to fix it completely for many people, and they continued to use their mouse just fine.

Verdict

However, you’ll be surprised to see that it is worth it, even compared to the lighter mice. I personally think it shines in first-person shooting games, but you might find it equally effective in third-person games as well.

Even the lift-off isn’t as bad as I had imagined in a heavier mouse, and you get used to it pretty quickly.  Muscle memory plays a significant role in improving performance with any mouse, and this is also the case when switching to the G502 Lightspeed.

And there will be a slight learning curve, which quickly fades away after a few matches, even if you switch from a lighter mouse. Apart from that, beware of the double-clicking issue before buying this mouse.

Cancer Patient Scammed Out of $32,000 After Downloading Malware Game on Steam

Story Highlight
  • A cancer patient lost $32,000 after he downloaded a game on Steam that had malware injected.
  • Steam has now delisted the affected game.
  • The person behind the scam has been exposed for running a whole network of malware on the platform.

Despite numerous game stores available, Steam is the forefront of PC gaming and hosts hundreds of millions of players every month. As such, Valve’s gaming store has become an image for PC gaming as a whole.

Despite being such a big platform, it seems that Steam may not be a safe place for gamers after all. A streamer battling Stage 4 cancer lost a whopping $32,000 of his creator fees secured for his treatment after he was told to download a game on Steam, which apparently contained malware.

Why it matters: Nothing can justify a central platform like Steam allowing malware to slip through in the games it distributes. Valve needs to strengthen its security further to provide a safe and private space for gamers.

Streamer Sharing How He Fell Victim To The $32,000 Scam

RastalandTV took to social media to explain what happened during his latest stream. A viewer told him to download a verified game on Steam, which resulted in his account being drained of $32,000 he had raised so far in creator fees from his $CANCER token on PumpFun.

I might end up on street again or not have anything to eat in few days… my heart wants to jump out of my mouth and it hurts.

The title in question, BlockBlasters, had an update on August 30, infecting the game with malware. Valve has apparently taken notice of this matter and delisted the game from Steam.

Still, it’s pretty baffling that the title was verified and available to download in the first place.

Valve Creator Gabe Newell
Steam Recently Had 40 Million Concurrent Players

Fortunately, the person behind the attack has been unmasked by the community, and it seems like this case isn’t his first rodeo. The culprit has been running a whole network of malware on Steam.

For RastalandTV, he has been receiving unwavering support from the gaming community, with many offering to compensate for what he lost.
