Nintendo Switch 2 has now sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
The console is expected to ship 19 million units at the end of FY26.
20 million games have already been sold on the Nintendo Switch 2, with Mario Kart World leading the way.
Nintendo Switch 2 has had a fantastic start to its tenure so far. Despite issues in availability, the console has outsold the original by 77% in the United States while shipping 2.4 million units in the country alone.
With games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Star Wars Outlaws performing beautifully on the console, it’s easy to see why the handheld is such a hit. According to Nintendo, it is even outperforming their expectations.
Why it matters: The Nintendo Switch 2’s massive success is a significant win for the industry, as Nintendo’s consoles are a substantial part of the medium’s economic strength.
Nintendo’s Switch 2 is now expected to sell over 19 million units in FY26.
According to the second quarter financial report, the Nintendo Switch 2 has now sold over 10 million units worldwide. The console had the best Q2 for any Nintendo console in history, surpassing Wii’s record of 2.65 million units sold.
Furthermore, Switch 2 shipped 4.54 million units this quarter, leading to an increase in estimated sales at the end of Fiscal Year 2026. Previously, Nintendo expected it to sell 15 million units, but now that projection has been hiked up to 19 million.
Software also showcased an outstanding performance, with the company shipping 11.95 million units on the Nintendo Switch 2 this quarter.
This was also the best second quarter for the publisher in terms of software sales, bringing the total amount of software sales on the console to 20.62 million. Donkey Kong Bananza shipped a whopping 3.49 million units on the Switch 2, becoming the biggest debut in the series.
Mario Kart World is the best-selling game on the console.
On the other hand, Mario Kart World is now approaching 10 million unit sales, with a remarkable attach rate of nearly92%. In addition, the Americas were the biggest software consumers according to the report, accounting for 39% of the total shipment of games.
With AAA juggernauts like Resident Evil Requiem set to launch on the console soon, Nintendo Switch 2 is only going to improve these numbers.

Pocketpair publishing manager Bucky has praised Arc Raiders for being the most technically impressive title he’s played this year.
He argues that the game has the potential to be the new benchmark for Unreal Engine games.
It’s a huge achievement because bugs and optimization issues often plague many Unreal Engine 5 games.
Many major AAA and big-budget indie titles use Unreal Engine 5 for its useful features, but that often results in optimization issues. However, UE entries like Clair Obscur and Arc Raiders have proven to be excellent exceptions in the industry.
Now, Palworld developer and Pocketpair publishing manager Bucky argues that the extraction shooter is so impressive that it may become the new benchmark for Unreal Engine development, standing alongside titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong.
Why it matters: Arc Raiders is a remarkably optimised entry, despite being built using the controversial Unreal Engine 5, and its visuals have also won over many players.
Palworld developer Bucky has praised Arc Raiders for being technically impressive.
In a tweet, Bucky explains that Arc Raiders is possibly the most technically impressive project he’s played this year, dubbing it a technical marvel compared to other games he’s experienced in the last 10 months.
The entry also pushes visuals to new extremes without affecting performance or requiring beefy rigs. For example, the sunset at the Buried City map is arguably one of the most scenic experiences in the game.
Arc Raiders also blends the extraction shooter formula perfectly with its enjoyable worldbuilding. Therefore, it’s no surprise that it has already sold over 1.5 million copies on Steam in just three days.
Arc Raiders has been a staggering success in terms of ratings and active player count.
Bucky also addresses the ‘trend’ of blaming UE5 for leading to poor optimization and high system specifications in games, implying that Arc Raiders stands out as a perfect counter to those claims.
Do you think Arc Raiders will manage to retain its player base after the initial hype dies down? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

The OG director has stated that he has been approached to pitch a Saints Row prequel.
He previously showed his intent towards the project with a 70s setting.
Stockman also openly criticized 2022’s reboot, calling it needless and a bad idea.
The last Saints Row game, released in 2022, was nothing less than a mess. It had terrible reviews and didn’t even sell that well. The reboot was nothing the fans expected, but now they might get something that could work out well.
The original Saints Row director has revealed that he has been asked to create a pitch for a potential prequel by Embracer. He previously showed his intent to return to the series with the OG team, and this could soon become a reality.
Why it matters: The director recently also criticized the reboot, calling it a bad idea, and that a mainline entry would’ve made much more sense.
The original Saints Row director could be returning for a potential prequel set in the 70s
Chris Stockman broke the news on Reddit, stating that he has been approached to put forward his pitch for the prequel; however, that is all the information he can currently disclose. But we have an idea of the setting.
I have hopeful news! I’ve been asked to create a pitch for a Saints Row reboot! I can’t say anything more than that but my dreams for this game just became a little more than just dreams
– Chris Stockman
He recently criticized the 2022 reboot, calling it a bad idea
The director revealed that he has a vision for a Saints Row prequel with a 70s setting. He is so passionate about it that he said he’d even secure the funding himself, and that he just wants his OG team to work on it.
Stockman left Volition shortly after the release of the original Saints Row and created his own studio, with a primary focus on VR games. He has also confirmed that the prequel won’t be a VR project but a complete console title.

AMD says it is listening to its users’ feedback and not ending support for RDNA 1 and 2.
The RX 5000 and 6000 series will continue to receive optimization, bug fixes, and other updates.
Previously, it was announced that older GPUs will see the end of support, causing uproar.
AMD recently caused a massive uproar among fans when a report claimed that it would end day 1 optimization for RDNA 1 and 2 GPUs, which include the RX 5000 and 6000 series. However, the company has backtracked now.
The tech giant confirmed that it will indeed continue RDNA 1 and 2 support, meaning that your GPUs will still get proper optimization, game support for newer releases, stability, and other bug fixes.
Why it matters: The RX 5000 and 6000 series still have many users who would’ve been left in the dust if the optimization had ended, so it’s good to see that the company still listens to its fans.
AMD has released a statement revealing continued support for RDNA 1 and 2 GPUs.
In an official statement, AMD confirmed the continued support. They claim to have received feedback from its users and that AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.10.2 will still be released for older RDNA GPUs.
AMD states that its goal is to deliver the best gaming experience for all Radeon users. They’ve separated the code paths for the latest RDA 3 and 4 cards; in this way, their engineers can focus on keeping optimization for older cards.
It was recently revealed that only the newer RX 6000 and 7000 series will continue with support
So, while the older ones won’t get feature updates, which is understandable, they will still get optimization and stability patches. Due to the different code, they can focus on newer GPUs separately, providing the best experience for all.
All in all, users of older GPUs will be glad to hear about this new development. The RX 6000 series cards are still among the most popular Steam GPUs, so restricting the optimization would’ve put so many users at risk.

This marks the game’s 8th consecutive year marking this many sales.
It is also the second-best-selling game in lifetime sales, only trailing behind Resident Evil 2.
Resident Evil is amongst the best-selling Capcom franchises of all time, and the most influential horror franchise in the industry, so it is no surprise that it sells well. However, one of its titles has achieved a massive record.
According to the company’s latest financial report, Resident Evil 7 has sold over 1 million units in this fiscal year. More importantly, it is the 8th year in a row it has crossed a million units.
Why it matters: Resident Evil 7 marked a significant shift in the franchise, becoming more horror-focused than action-oriented, and most fans appreciated the change, as evident from the sales.
Resident Evil 7 marks its 8th consecutive year with over a million units sold.
Capcom released its fiscal report, revealing sales numbers for its games. Resident Evil 7 has sold around 1.15 million units this year, with this being its 8th consecutive year to do so, showing its huge popularity.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was released in 2017 and introduced us to Ethan Winters and his family. The title was a tonal shift in the series, and fans really liked it. It also carried over to Resident Evil 8: Village.
This is a huge milestone for the title released in 2017, with a shift in tone for the series.
Interestingly, it is also among the top 4 best-selling games for Capcom this year, and is only behind Resident Evil 2 in lifetime sales. However, the sales are expected to increase even more in the next year.
Capcom has announced Resident Evil 7 for Switch 2 will release on February 27, 2026. This means it will be available now on almost every platform, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Switch, and iOS.

Arc Raiders has sold over 1.5 million units on Steam, as per Gamalytic.
The title has brought in nearly $60 million in revenue so far.
These numbers don’t include sales on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, which likely increase the total.
Arc Raiders has taken the world by storm since its launch, amassing almost 200k concurrent players in its open Beta alone and surpassing that number with its highly acclaimed full release.
Embark’s extraction shooter has appeased players of the genre and taken fan service to another level by refunding items players have lost to cheaters. This attention to detail is also reflected in the game’s success on Steam.
Why it matters: An extraction shooter being such a big hit in a very saturated shooting genre is a much-needed win for the industry, as the medium lacks variety.
Arc Raiders is currently only behind Battlefield 6 on Steam, according to Gamalytic.
According to analysis firm Gamalytic, Arc Raiders has sold over 1.5 million copies on Steam alone. According to estimates on the website, the extraction shooter has generated $57.8 million in revenue since its launch just three days ago.
For sure, this does compare favorably to titles like Battlefield 6, which has sold over 8 million copies on Steam and raked in $500 million, according to Gamalytic. But, for a rather niche side of the shooting genre, Arc Raiders is pulling more than its weight.
In addition, the title continues to reach new concurrent player peaks on Steam, with over 300k players today, leading to the introduction of a queue due to the vast number of players.
Arc Raiders is also not going to follow some of the traditions that franchises like Call of Duty have made popular. The Embark title will not include any absurd or weird skins and crossovers, instead focusing on the gameplay.
Arc Raiders has enamoured players with its brilliant PvPvE gameplay.
With Marathon also set to launch next year, Arc Raiders will face some competition. However, Embark is looking forward to this challenge, as they have beaten out the Sony live-service title before, during the playtests.

Obsidian Entertainment is replacing PSSR with TSR for The Outer Worlds 2 on PS5 Pro.
Sony’s proprietary tech was causing blurry visuals and bad performance with the game.
This is yet another case of PSSR making things worse, not better, in games.
Sony released the PS5 Pro as the most powerful console available on the market. Hardware-wise, it is undoubtedly just that; however, optimization and software issues are what’re keeping it from its full potential.
The Outer Worlds 2 is the latest case of a game with a better experience on the base console compared to the Pro. To tackle the issue, the studio has replaced PS5 Pro’s proprietary PSSR upscaling tech with TSR.
Why it matters: PSSR has been a known culprit of bad performance and visuals ever since the pro console came out; in fact, the tech causes more problems than it solves, so Sony has a lot of work to do with that.
Obsidian Entertainment has replaced PSSR with TSR for The Outer Worlds 2
Recent performance analysis showed The Outer Worlds 2 had a really bad case of PSSR upscaling as well. The graphics were extremely blurry, and the game looked much better on the base PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Obsidian Entertainment has released new patch notes revealing they’ve replaced PSSR with TSR to address blurry visuals. Now, both technologies use upscaling to add reconstructed images, but both work in different ways.
The Outer Worlds 2 on PS5 Pro had a lot of performance and visual issues due to PSSR
PSSR uses machine learning to reconstruct images at a higher resolution, and TSR is a little less advanced, as it does the same using older frames as a reference. But because PSSR isn’t that mature, it has a lot of issues.
This is a serious issue that is making things look bad for the pro console. It is an almost $800 console, and if fans aren’t getting their money’s worth, they are better off with base consoles like the PS5 and Series X.
What are your thoughts on PSSR being replaced by TSR with The Outer Worlds 2 on PS5 Pro? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.

Call of Duty developers think that the recent Game Pass price increase is positive.
It will result in more revenue and autonomy over the franchise for them.
Still, the entire brand is losing its value due to a decline across all departments.
The only thing keeping the Xbox brand afloat was Game Pass, but the gaming giant even managed to mess that part up. Recent Game Pass price hikes have made the subscription service unviable for most.
However, Call of Duty developers think otherwise, and the price bump is a ‘positive’ for them. Moreover, Activision is quite pleased with where Game Pass stands at the moment.
Why it matters: The gaming industry is at its most anti-consumerist right now, and even developers and publishers have lost the passion for what they do.
Internal Conditions For Activision Are Pretty Good Following Recent Turmoil
GhostofHope, a reliable industry insider, recently talked with several developers behind the franchise regarding the state of Game Pass. Financially, they said that this price bump is a win for them since it will result in more revenue and autonomy over the franchise.
Furthermore, there’s now also room for bonuses if they’re successful in reaching their goals.
With multiple acquisitions and an increasing game library, Xbox had to increase the Game Pass price. The gaming giant even lost $300 million in sales for Call of Duty due to Game Pass.
Still, it’s no excuse for Xbox to raise $10 for the service, putting it at $30/month. The entire point of Game Pass was to provide an economical way to play games. Even the co-founder of the brand calls the price hike a betrayal.
With the price increase, additional games are being added to the platform, including ones from AAA titles from Ubisoft, Hogwarts Legacy, and others. Even more services are being added in the highest tier, but that in no way justifies $360 per year.
As such, Xbox is losing hardware sales, and even if content and services have grown year-on-year, recent changes will potentially cause them to dip, but that remains to be seen.

Cyberpunk tabletop RPG creator Mike Pondsmith has said he has ways of bringing back Johnny Silverhand.
Pondsmith explained Keanu Reeves’ character could make a return in the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel.
The creator also praised the dedication Reeves had while portraying the character.
Cyberpunk 2077 is arguably the greatest comeback story in gaming history, transforming from one of the most critically panned titles to become one of the top 3 selling global titleson Steam five years after its launch.
The RPG has helped drive CD Projekt Red’s revenue, accounting for almost 60% of the Polish developer’s earnings. Unsurprisingly, the game’s sequel has entered pre-production, and if the creator of the Cyberpunk tabletop RPG is to be trusted, one of the game’s most beloved characters could come back.
Why it matters: Johnny Silverhand has become a modern gaming icon, so his return can only be good news for the fans, and Pondsmith should make it happen.
On a stream hosted by CD Projekt Red on October 30th, Cyberpunk RPG creator Mike Pondsmith stated that he has ways of bringing Johnny Silverhand back from the dead in Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel.
I saw That Keanu would like to find a way to play johnny again. i have ways to do that.
Pondsmith asked Keanu Reeves to call him and also praised the actor’s dedication while portraying Silverhand, saying that he completely immersed himself in the role. If any other stars appear in the next entry, they should adopt the same attitude.
Reeves has expressed interest in portraying Johnny Silverhand again, despite the character having been dead before the events in Cyberpunk 2077 begin. But, considering how mad the world of the RPG is, you never know what is going to happen in Night City.
Johnny Silverhand is dead before the events of Cyberpunk 2077 even start.
However, with content still coming to Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners also gearing up for a second season with a darker tone, fans of the series have a lot to look forward to.

In Arc Raiders, you will get all the items you have lost because of cheating back in your inventory automatically.
Embark refunds every item that hackers take from you.
Players don’t even have to file a complaint.
Extraction shooters have never been the most popular niche in the shooting genre, but the success of Arc Raiders has given this formula some much-needed prominence.
The Embark Studios shooting title reached its peak with over 250K concurrent players on Steam, thanks to player feedback that helped the developers restructure the game and make it more fair for everyone involved, except for cheaters.
Why it matters: A successful shooting title taking so much care of its players is something more mainstream titles can also employ.
Arc Raiders isn’t letting cheaters take away anything from you.
As revealed by the Arc Radar account on X, if you lose items in the game due to hacking or cheating, they will get refunded into your inventory automatically. Players who face cheating will receive a message stating that the extraction shooter is about teamwork, not unfair advantages.
Furthermore, you don’t even have to file a complaint, as the refund is automatically transferred to your account. Hence, Embark Studios is working diligently to maintain a level of decorum in the game that many mainstream shooting titles lack, due to a surge in cheaters and hackers.
But Arc Raiders is taking fan service to another level by automatically compensating you for any loss at the hands of cheaters. Embark is also against adding flashy skins to the game like Call of Duty, focusing more on the fan experience by improving the gameplay.
Arc Raiders has been a massive success on Steam.
And, considering how it has already learned so much regarding what not to do thanks to Marathon, the future of the extraction shooter is shining brighter every day.

A gaming PC should be built to handle daily tasks, such as work and school, not just gaming.
A balanced system provides flexibility, reduces crashes, and runs smoothly when multitasking.
The overall goal is a PC that supports all your activities, not just one that produces high frame rates.
I’ve spent plenty of nights trying to squeeze out every bit of FPS I could, so I get it: frames matter in competitive gaming. Smooth aim, quick response, and no input lag are what every player wants.
But after a while, I realized a strong gaming setup can do a lot more than win matches. The same PC that helps me clutch in ranked also handles my daily tasks, from editing clips to joining online classes or managing freelance work.
Your PC shouldn’t just be a “gaming rig.” It should be your main workstation for everything. When I built my current setup, I stopped focusing only on raw power and started aiming for balance. I need a system that could handle both my gaming sessions and everyday work.
Why Your Gaming PC Should Do More Than Just Play Games
Gaming Setup Using Monitor and TV display – Image Credits (Tech4Gamers)
Even when we’re not gaming, most of us still spend hours on our PCs, watching replays, running Discord servers, studying, or working. So why not build your setup for all that, too?
My rig switches roles easily. One moment it’s recording or streaming matches, and the next it’s running editing or productivity software. That flexibility makes life easier.
Balancing gaming and school isn’t always easy. When deadlines pile up, even the most disciplined students can fall behind. That’s when some students choose to purchase essays online to get a bit of breathing room.
A balanced setup means fewer crashes when multitasking, faster video rendering, and smoother switching between gaming, school, and work. It turns your PC from just a gaming machine into something that supports your whole routine.
CPU and RAM: The Real MVPs of Multitasking
AMD Ryzen 9 9990X3D.
People love to talk about GPUs, but I’ve learned your CPU and RAM are what keep everything running clean when you’re juggling tasks. I went with a solid 8-core processor and 32 GB of RAM, that are enough to stream, record, and keep 15 Chrome tabs open without my PC begging for mercy.
That kind of power makes a difference. It keeps your setup feeling fast even when you’re running analytics overlays, watching replays, and chatting with your team, all at once.
You also need to keep your PC running at low temps. I used to ignore fan noise until I noticed how much it broke my focus during late-night games or recordings.
Now, I use quiet fans, good airflow, and a clean setup that helps me stay calm and focused. A cool and quiet space keeps both your PC and your mind running smoothly.
Storage: Don’t Underestimate Smart Drive Setup
Using separate storage drives keeps the system organized and fast.
Recording clips and making short videos used to be something I barely thought about. But once I started doing it, I realized it actually helped me play better. Watching my own gameplay and explaining it on camera made me understand my mistakes and improve my strategy.
Here’s something I learned the hard way: don’t dump everything on one SSD. A dual-drive setup is a total game-changer.
I keep Windows and my main programs on a smaller NVMe SSD, while all my games and footage sit on a second, larger one. It keeps things organized, and I never have to worry about slow load times or a cluttered system drive.
Plus, I back up my match VODs to an external drive so I never lose old highlights (and my main SSD stays healthy).
Peripherals: The Tools of Your Trade
You shouldn’t compromise on gaming peripherals.
You can’t talk about a gaming setup without including peripherals. A 240Hz monitor is great for competitive games, but adding a second monitor for Discord, notes, or music can improve productivity.
My keyboard and mouse are set up just the way I like them: simple yet reliable. My headset works well for voice calls and also handles voiceovers when I record. Choosing gear that can do more than one thing makes your whole setup more useful.
Even the best PC won’t matter if you’re uncomfortable after an hour. A good chair, the right desk height, and proper posture make a huge difference. I added bias lighting behind my monitors and a wrist rest as well. Small upgrades like these help me stay comfortable during long gaming or editing sessions.
Spending Smart: What Really Matters
I’ve realized that flashy RGB lights don’t add much compared to a quiet fan or a quality monitor. It’s better to invest in the parts that count, such as your CPU, RAM, and display. Save money on things like motherboards or lighting.
A strong processor and good peripherals will last through several GPU upgrades, so it’s worth thinking ahead.
FPS is still important, but it’s not everything. The best setups today are built to handle work, study, and everything in between. Your PC can make you both a better gamer and a more productive person. That’s the real win.

In a new interview, Dan Houser discussed a cancelled medieval IP from Rockstar.
The game would’ve featured mythological elements, but it never got too far into development.
Dan Houser also shed light on other cancelled projects in the same interview.
Rockstar is known best for its GTA and Red Dead Redemption franchises, but the studio had a lot more variety to its name a few years ago. Between racing games like Midnight Club and experimental sports titles like Table Tennis, the studio worked on different types of games more than a decade ago.
According to Dan Houser, the team even tried to branch out to a game set in a medieval period not too long ago, but the project did not work out.
Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser recently sat down with Lex Fridman and discussed the history of the studio.
Pointing to the many Rockstar projects that never saw the light of day, Dan Houser mentioned a knight-based concept with mythological elements.
We played around with a knights concept, trying to do a version of a mythological game. Still love that idea.
-Dan Houser
He confirmed that the project was only discussed briefly and never even got to the writing stage. However, Dan Houser still thinks the idea would work well if it was made into a full game.
Of course, this is not the first time a medieval game from Rockstar has been brought up. As early as 2019, there were rumors of a game like this being in development, but many believed there was little truth to those rumors.
With Dan Houser himself clearing the air, there’s little doubt that the project was indeed real. Interestingly, fans are still willing to see a project like this from Rockstar, with demand evident to this day.
Rockstar Has Been Lacking In The Variety Department Recently
Elsewhere, Dan Houser discussed Agent, a spy-themed project from the studio. This game was in the works during the PS3/Xbox 360 generation, but never moved too far into production.
Nonetheless, the team is currently focused entirely on GTA 6, hoping to make it the best game possible.
