Even the Xbox co-founder says that the Game Pass hike is a betrayal to loyal fans. It shows the company considers greed over gaming as the service doesn’t provide value, which made it so popular among the masses. 

Why it matters: Fans do share the sentiment that Game Pass isn’t a good deal anymore, as you are $360 for the Ultimate to not own a single game, and they are already boycotting the subscription service. 

Laura Fryer, ex-long-term Microsoft employee and Xbox co-founder, has slammed the company for the price increase. She says that Microsoft is out of touch with its consumers and is filled with greed. 

Xbox threw away one of their last advantages: they were the best deal in gaming. These price hikes feel like a betrayal. Greed over gaming.

Fryer also criticized the ‘This is an Xbox‘ movement as it destroys everything they worked so many years to build. Instead of helping the cause, the movement is pushing people away from the consoles. 

Game Pass was the best thing in gaming (value-wise) for the fans, and Microsoft threw it away. Fryer’s frustration is quite evident with these statements, and she is the voice of the fans who were also taken aback by the new changes.
