MindsEye Experiences Yet Another Flop — Free To Play Steam Release Only Hits 46 Peak Players

Story Highlight
  • The free MindsEye demo has performed horribly for the studio, reaching only 46 peak players on Steam.
  • It has fewer than 30% positive reviews, with an overall rating of Mostly Negative on Steam.
  • The results show that the game failed to make the comeback that studio executives envisioned.

Instead of being the GTA competitor many expected, MindsEye turned out to be a disaster of a launch this year. The game was riddled with bugs and optimization issues. The controversy was so bad that PlayStation stepped in to refund players in a rare move.

Since the game was promised 10 years of support, some were still hoping to jump into the experience after a variety of updates. Build a Rocket Boy launched a free demo on Steam over a week ago, but it seemingly flopped as badly as the original title, if not more.

Why it matters: The free demo was intended to push players into the original MindsEye, but it seems to have had an opposite effect. It was rated negatively and largely ignored by most of the gaming industry.

SteamDB shows the demo only attracted a 46 all-time peak, which is a devastating number for a free-to-play experience meant to convince fans to buy the original. Therefore, MindsEye’s last chance to make a significant recovery has ended.

The demo features a mission from the campaign and ARCADIA content to give players a taste of what’s featured in the original. However, the glitches and optimization issues are also a part of the free package, leading to a bombardment of negative reviews.

The demo is currently sitting at a Mostly Negative rating on Steam, with many comments recalling the same issues users experienced in the original. Only about 30% of the reviews are labeled as positive at the time of writing.

Free MindsEye Demo negative reviews
All the negative reviews show MindsEye has not improved since launch.

MindsEye was already crowned as 2025’s lowest-rated launch by critics, with its user rating being the second worst behind Black Ops 7. Therefore, former developers also are not expecting to make a Cyberpunk 2077-like comeback anytime soon.

Do you think MindsEye will see somewhat of a revival if future updates fix some of its glaring issues, or is the project already deemed a failure? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Dead Space Has No Future At EA As The Series Has Been Shelved

Story Highlight
  • The Dead Space franchise has been put on ice at EA, according to sources inside the company.
  • EA is not planning to produce a remake or a sequel.
  • However, there is hope that the company could sell the IP to recoup some cash.

Despite being one of the most iconic horror franchises in gaming, Dead Space hasn’t seen a new mainline entry in over a decade. The 2023 remake gave fans some hope that a fourth game could become a reality.

However, even with positive reviews and a decent performance on Steam, there has been no update from EA, and if leaks are true, Dead Space has no future at the company.

Why It Matters: Dead Space is the forefather of cosmic horror in the gaming world. EA shelving an iconic IP with so much potential is terrible, whatever way you look at it.

As reported by Mike Shaw on the Insider Gaming Podcast, the Dead Space franchise has been put on ice at EA. Due to the direction EA is taking right now, the insider doesn’t expect the game to be picked up anytime soon, whether it is for a remake or a fourth mainline entry.

What I’ve been told is [that] Dead Space…all the internal messaging points to the IP being ‘on ice’

This is especially disappointing, as the company surveyed fans regarding more Dead Space remakes and even hinted that Dead Space 2 could be next in line before cancelling it due to poor sales of the predecessor.

But, not all hope is lost, as Shaw’s sources reveal that EA could sell the IP following its takeover by Saudi Arabia. The country’s Public Investment Fund is not having the best time financially, and leakers inside EA predict that it could auction off Dead Space in a bid to bring in some cash.

Hence, the horror franchise could potentially have a new home when the deal closes, but as of now, it’s on the back burner. A new publisher could be the best solution for Dead Space, as creator Glen Schofield has been interested in a fourth title since 2024.

Glenn Schofield, the Creator of Dead Space, has ideas for a fourth title in the series.

Schofield even announced plans to pitch Dead Space 4 to EA following its takeover from Saudi Arabia, but it seems like that didn’t pan out too well.

Todd Howard Hopes GTA 6 Launches Before The Elder Scrolls 6

Story Highlight
  • Bethesda’s boss, Todd Howard, states that GTA 6 will release before Elder Scrolls 6.
  • He previously asked fans to be patient and believe in the studio with the sequel.
  • The RPG was announced in 2018, so it has been in development for over 7 years.

If it wasn’t already confirmed at this point, the Bethesda boss has reiterated that The Elder Scrolls 6 isn’t coming out anytime soon. Announced in 2018, the project has been in development for 7 years, with no release in sight.

In a recent interview, Bethesda’s head was asked if he thinks GTA 6 or The Elder Scrolls 6 would come out first, to which he replied that he is hoping for the former. Rockstar’s flagship title is currently set for a November 2026 release.

Why it matters: It has been so many years since the last mainline Elder Scrolls game came out, and fans have been yearning for more, but Bethesda is taking its sweet time with the development.

The Elder Scrolls 6
The Elder Scrolls 6 isn’t expected anytime before 2027

Power Unlimited asked Todd Howard about the two big franchises’ release window at the recent red carpet for Fallout season 2. He said he believes GTA 6 will come out next year and before The Elder Scrolls 6.

I got my fingers crossed for GTA 6. I know the folks at Rockstar and I think they are some of the absolute best at bringing a virtual world to life

– Todd Howard

gta 6 lucia
GTA 6 currently has a November 2026 release date

This clearly suggests the earliest we can expect the game now is 2027, but it could be even later, based on the little to no information we currently have. Earlier this year, a job listing suggested it isn’t even in an alpha state yet.

Nonetheless, Howard recently asked fans to believe in the studio and be patient. The game is rumored to have a Hammerfell setting, familiar to fans of the franchise. We do hope we get further information on the title next year.

What are your thoughts on Todd Howard saying that GTA 6 will release before The Elder Scrolls 6? Are you looking forward to Bethesda’s RPG? Let us know in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.

Netflix Acquire Warner Bros And HBO in Massive $82.7 Billion Deal

Story Highlight
  • Netflix plans an $82.7B acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, including HBO Max.

  • The deal adds major franchises and WB Games to Netflix’s ecosystem.

  • If approved, it could reshape the future of streaming and gaming.

Streaming platforms for movies and series are increasingly popular, and although Netflix has reigned supreme from the beginning, its rivals are making things increasingly difficult. Now is Netflix’s opportunity to eliminate one of its biggest competitors by acquiring it, as it buys Warner Bros. Discovery, which includes HBO Max, for a sum of $82.7 billion ($72 billion in market capitalization), surpassing Microsoft’s $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

Netflix began renting movies in the early 2000s, a common practice at the time, but these could be rented online. Later, in 2007Netflix launched its new video-on-demand service, enabling the use of something then unheard of: streaming. The transmission of audiovisual content, including movies and series, over the internet began there, and Netflix became the leading company in the sector, boasting over 10 million subscribers by 2009.

Netflix Games

Netflix now boasts hundreds of thousands of subscribers worldwide, reaching 301.6 million subscribers in August 2025, according to its latest figures. With these numbers, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and HBO Max are unable to compete, although they continue to siphon off customers.

Netflix’s price increases and policy changes have led some customers to cancel their subscriptions and switch to other platforms. Even so, Netflix’s dominance is undeniable, and the current acquisition will further solidify its position if completed.

We’re talking about Netflix’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, which would include HBO Max, one of its main competitors in the streaming platform market. The deal also includes not only the DC Universe, The Matrix, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and Friends franchises, but also the HBO library, HBO Max, and the entire Warner Bros. Games division. Netflix will thus control if we just look at gaming:

  • WB Games Montréal (Gotham Knights)
  • WB Games Boston (The Lord of the Rings Online)
  • TT Games (LEGO games)
  • NetherRealm (Mortal Kombat, Injustice)
  • Avalanche Software (Hogwarts Legacy)
  • Rocksteady (Batman: Arkham, Suicide Squad)

From a gaming perspective, this acquisition could spark major shifts across Warner Bros. titles. With Netflix already experimenting in the gaming space — both through mobile games and cloud gaming trials — integrating studios like Rocksteady, NetherRealm, and Avalanche Software opens the door for cross-media projects, day-one streaming tie-ins, and possibly even Netflix-exclusive game releases.

Fans could see stronger synergy between games and series, such as expanded universes for Mortal Kombat or new story-driven content tied to HBO and DC franchises.

On the other side, if you recall this acquisition, Microsoft spent a year and a half battling regulators to finally secure the deal. Something similar could happen with Netflix, because if we add HBO Max to its platform, we would have significantly more content and subscribers than our rivals. The $75 billion estimate would assume an offer to buy Warner Bros. Discovery shares for $30 each.

If we add to this the fact that Netflix has current hit series like Stranger Things, which recently premiered its new season, we can see how this acquisition will be very beneficial for maintaining its dominance.

Netflix has acknowledged that the purchase will allow it to offer more options and greater value to its customers, thus offering the content of HBO and HBO Max. Furthermore, it estimates cost savings of $2-3 billion annually by the third year and expects earnings per share to increase starting in the second year.

What’s your take on this new accusation from Netflix? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Netflix Buys Warner Bros; Now Owns Mortal Kombat, Batman, And Other Gaming IPs

Story Highlight
  • Netflix has confirmed that it will acquire Warner Bros. Discovery for over $80 billion.
  • This deal will see the former owning major television and film IPs like Game of Thrones, the DC Universe, and more.
  • Gaming franchises like Mortal Kombat will also fall under the Netflix umbrella moving forward.

Financial troubles were brewing at Warner Bros. Discovery for quite some time now, leading the studio down the path of a merger.

According to rumors, the likes of Sony and Paramount were among the frontrunners for an acquisition, but it seems a different contender has won the bidding war. In a new update, Netflix has confirmed that it has now acquired Warner Bros. Discovery.

Why it matters: Consolidation within the entertainment industry has become quite common, with this latest example highlighting yet another major buyout that could significantly impact things moving forward.

Netflix Buys Warner Bros. Discovery
Netflix Buys Warner Bros. Discovery

The latest deal is worth a whopping $82.7 billion and will see Netflix acquiring all the IPs under Warner Bros. Discovery. These include films, television, and other properties owned by the studio.

According to Netflix, this deal will combine the best of the two giants, making for world-class storytelling in the future, revolving around IPs like Game of Thrones, the DC Universe, and more.

Although the official announcement does not mention Warner Bros. Discovery’s gaming division, it seems safe to expect the likes of Mortal Kombat and Hogwarts Legacy to be owned by Netflix moving forward.

Moreover, internal teams like Rocksteady and NetherRealm should now fall under the Netflix umbrella.

Warner Bros
Warner Bros. Has Been Sold Alongside Its Gaming IPs

Because Netflix hasn’t been too successful in its gaming endeavors, it will be interesting to see whether this deal will have a significant impact on Warner Bros. Discovery’s gaming division.

For context, Warner Bros. has itself mismanaged its IPs and studios quite a bit recently, with Hogwarts Legacy being the only standout success for the studio in recent years.

How To Level Faster In World of Warcraft

Story Highlight
  • Leveling faster in World of Warcraft is not too difficult.
  • Efficiently completing quests, raids, and other activities is a key part of the process.
  • Collaborating with other players and making use of other tools also makes this process a lot faster.

The leveling process in World of Warcraft is not the most complex, but it’s important to understand that a firm grasp of the mechanics can dramatically enhance your gameplay experience

I believe that this journey can be made significantly easier by maximizing the rewards obtained through quests, new zones, and more. Also, it’s important to recognize the value of synergy between skills and gear.

Time management is another important aspect that plays a huge role in quicker leveling strategies. As an example, I’ve found that grouping similar tasks not only minimizes travel time but also wowboosts my overall experience gain.

Why it matters: Leveling in World of Warcraft can sometimes seem tedious. However, using the right strategies can make this process much easier than it may initially seem.

Questing And Efficient Route Planning

World of Warcraft
WOW Quests Should Not Be Ignored

In my opinion, questing is key when attempting to level up in World of Warcraft. However, simply completing quests isn’t all it takes to achieve higher levels since it’s important to plan routes effectively to minimize downtime and maximize time spent earning XP.

Personally, I like to focus on route optimization when completing quests. I also chain quests together that are geographically close. In this way, I usually avoid unnecessary travel time.

It goes without saying, but I usually tend to prioritize quests that offer high rewards and synergize with my current level and gear. Ultimately, mastering quests is all about efficiency and planning, and this is exactly why I recommend focusing on this aspect so much.

Utilizing the Right Add-ons

While simply playing World of Warcraft is usually the best way to reach higher levels, making use of various tools can help streamline this process.

For leveling, tools like Questie and Azeroth Auto Pilot make a huge difference. The former makes it easier to track quests and find objectives, while the latter offers an optimized leveling path. Also, TomTom comes in handy when trying to navigate the map.

On the other hand, I’ve found quest tracking tools equally important. These tools usually pinpoint exactly where I need to go and provide details about rewards and completion rates.

Benefits of Teaming Up

World of Warcraft Mythic Plus
Teaming Up Can Make WOW Even More Fun

I enjoy teaming up with others in World of Warcraft, and this is something that immediately makes a difference.

For starters, different players bring their own strategies and mindsets, leading to higher chances of success when tackling quests and dungeons. Collaborating also means that problem-solving improves tenfold when cooperating with the right players.

This is obvious, but when I’m working with other players, I find myself completing quests and unlocking rewards much faster than usual. This is critical since time management is so important to the World of Warcraft experience.

Of course, different players also improve the group’s overall combat strategies. Because of different equipment, skill sets, and tactical coordination, challenging encounters can often become a breeze when playing with a group.

Experience Boosts and Buffs

Utilizing experience boosts and buffs in World of Warcraft is yet another strategy that can make the leveling process a lot smoother.

Making use of experience potion can significantly enhance the experience gain, albeit for a limited time. This means that you can use the potions just before an important session to maximize XP gain.

Buffs can also be stacked to further their effect. For instance, using a potion and a guild perk or an event bonus can lead to a powerful synergy that increases leveling speeds further. This is precisely why it’s so important to use these bonuses and buffs wisely.

The Power of Heirloom Gear

Heirloom gear makes it so that leveling becomes all the easier in World of Warcraft. These gear sets provide stat boosts that make the entire process a lot smoother, and the best part is that they can be obtained with in-game currency.

Also, heirloom gear sets come in different styles, so I can have a completely different set than yours while reaping the same benefits of class synergy and optimized builds.

Dungeons And Raids

World of Warcraft
Raids Are Among The Most Fun WOW Activities

I don’t need to be the one to tell World of Warcraft players that dungeons and raids are critical to the overall World of Warcraft experience. Mastering this part of the game and optimizing runs can lead to incredibly fast leveling.

Here, familiarity with the bosses and their mechanics is extremely important. Coordinating effectively during raids is also crucial, with each team member playing a distinct role in the overall process.

This type of synergy with teammates can then lead to more experience from each successful run. Essentially, this can lead to raids and dungeons becoming powerful leveling tools.

Mastering Professions

Focusing on trade skills is just one of the many ways I suggest players optimize the World of Warcraft leveling journey.

Prioritizing gathering professions like Herbalism and Mining can lead to more efficient collecting of crafting material during quests. Moreover, crafting specialization can lead to items that provide bonuses and valuable experience points.

Finally, I recommend keeping an eye on auction houses since crafted items can be sold here for gold.

Avoiding Burnout

In my opinion, avoiding burnout is among the most important parts of the entire process. This is why one should never shy away from taking breaks or engaging in other activities every now and then.

It’s also a good idea to set goals and work toward smaller targets at one time. Finally, World of Warcraft itself can be used to avoid burnout.

Because the game has so much content, players can try different builds and playstyles, all of which can help prevent burnout.

Battlefield 6 Has Lost 80% of Its Peak Player Count in Just 2 Months Since Release

Story Highlight
  • Battlefield 6 has lost most of its player base now, despite launching in October.
  • It opened with over 750K players, and now averages just 140k players daily.
  • Recent reviews have highlighted a few issues due to which it’s losing players.

In the months leading up to Battlefield 6, the hype for EA’s shooter game was unreal, and it seemed this would finally be the year of Battlefield. Rightfully so, it had an explosive opening with around 750K players, beating all Call of Duty games ever.

However, in just 2 months since launch, Battlefield 6 has lost almost 80% of its peak player count. Its current player count is even lower than that of games like Delta Force, Where Winds Meet, Rust, and others.

Why it matters: Based on the huge opening numbers and positive reviews, it seemed that the player base would remain substantial for quite a long time. While even the current peak is decent, it’s far from what it opened at.

Battlefield 6 Players
Battlefield 6 has lost a significant number of its players in just 2 months

Battlefield 6 currently has just 64K players, and peaked at 145K in the last 24 hours. This is 80% less than what it had at its opening, and almost 60% less than the 350K players it averaged the previous month.

The overall reviews remain positive, but the game has been attracting a lot of negative reviews in recent weeks. Fans complain that the game is broken, the maps are too small, and it isn’t as fun as Battlefield 4 in general.

Battlefield 6
Battlefield 6’s recent reviews have pointed towards a variety of issues

The number of players that have fallen out of Battlefield 6 is massive, but it still has a lot of potential to make a comeback. The base is solid, and with some good updates and listening to demand, EA can win back a lot of players.

It still has been a very successful year for the franchise as EA revealed it’s the best-selling shooter game of the year. Nonetheless, the company would want to ensure that players stick to the game by listening to feedback.

12 Years Later: Black Flag Was The Last Time Assassin’s Creed Felt Perfectly Balanced

Story Highlight
  • Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag recently celebrated its 12th anniversary.
  • The game continues to stand out for its naval combat, parkour, and other gameplay elements.
  • Edward Kenway’s narrative is also incredible to this day.

Assassin’s Creed has undergone a major identity shift over the last decade. What began as a stealth-focused action-adventure IP has now turned into a series of full-blown RPGs, with Ubisoft only recently returning to the classic formula with Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

However, back in 2013, the gaming giant also released Assassin’s Creed 4, striking a perfect balance between the stealth-focused roots of the series and more expansive open-world gameplay. Recently, this entry celebrated its 12th anniversary.

Why it matters: Ubisoft is rumored to be working on multiple Assassin’s Creed remakes, and Black Flag is reportedly first in line for this treatment. This choice has been made for good reason.

Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Remake
Black Flag Was Impressive On Every Level

At release, Assassin’s Creed 4 became famous as being more about pirates than assassins. However, the overall narrative still kept the core pillars of the Assassins vs. Templars conflict intact, giving fans of the series’ classic themes something to latch on to.

Moreover, Edward Kenway turned into a fully-fledged assassin by the end of the narrative, becoming one of the franchise’s most memorable main characters. It would not be far-fetched to say that very few leads since Assassin’s Creed 4 can match his character arc.

In terms of gameplay, Black Flag also presented a very balanced approach. On one hand, the naval combat broke new ground for the series, offering something that was completely new to Assassin’s Creed in 2013. This element was first introduced in Assassin’s Creed 3, but Black Flag expanded the naval combat in multiple ways.

Elsewhere, Assassin’s Creed 4 offered plenty of stealth gameplay, counter-based combat, and parkour opportunities in the segments that took place on land. In this way, the game offered two completely different gameplay styles without leaning too much in one direction.

Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Remake
An AC4 Remake Is Now In The Works

Assassin’s Creed 4 went on to become a critical part of the beloved Kenway trilogy, impressing fans in all sorts of ways. The game has also seen a total of 30+ million players since its launch, highlighting just how big an impact it left on the franchise.

Looking at the numbers, it makes sense that this was the title Ubisoft picked for its first Assassin’s Creed remake. Fans can only hope the remake captures the true essence of what made Edward Kenway’s adventure so impressive in 2013.

What do you think about Black Flag? Do you like it as much as everyone else? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

5 Easy Ways to Get Robux for Your Roblox Adventures

Story Highlight
  • The easiest and safest way to get Robux is to buy them straight from the official Roblox store.
  • You can also earn Robux by designing and selling your own virtual items (like shirts or game passes) on the platform.
  • Never use “free Robux generators” or share your password with unofficial sites.

When you’re deep into Roblox, Robux starts feeling like the real fuel of the whole platform. I’ve been there. You spot a new outfit, a cool animation, a game pass that basically upgrades your entire experience, and suddenly, your wallet starts sweating.

The good news is there are legit ways to get Robux that actually work, and none of them require falling for those sketchy “free generator” scams everyone warns you about.

After playing Roblox for years and watching the platform evolve, these are the routes that make sense today.

1. Buying Robux Straight From Roblox

Roblox Money
Kids are now using Roblox to earn money.

Let’s be real. Nothing beats the simplicity of hitting the “Buy Robux” button and being done with it. If you want your Robux right now with zero hassle, this is the move.

You buy a bundle, and the Robux appear instantly. No weird websites, no shady downloads, no risking your account. Roblox keeps the prices pretty consistent across devices, but I usually stick to PC because it’s clearer and avoids surprise app-store fees.

If you don’t want the long grind and you just want to grab an item today, this is the safest way to get Robux.

2. Joining Roblox Premium for Monthly Robux

Roblox Fits
You can participate in official Roblox events to get free avatar items, saving you from spending Robux.

Premium isn’t just a subscription. It’s basically the “I’m always on Roblox anyway” plan. You pay once a month and get a set amount of Robux automatically. Plus, you unlock things like trading and the ability to sell stuff you create.

There are three main Premium tiers:

  • Premium 450 – $4.99 per month for 450 Robux
  • Premium 1000 – $9.99 per month for 1,000 Robux
  • Premium 2200 – $19.99 per month for 2,200 Robux

The tiers are simple. You just pick how many Robux you want each month. If you’re the type who always buys avatar items or supports devs with game passes, Premium feels way smoother and sometimes even cheaper in the long run.

And yeah, you get bonus Robux whenever you buy extra. It adds up more than you would think.

3. Selling Items or Game Passes

Roblox
Wait before buying items; only purchase things you will use often to make your Robux last.

If you’ve ever looked at someone’s avatar and thought “I could totally design something better,” this is where you make it happen.

You can create shirts, accessories, or even game passes for games you build. Once people start buying them, you earn a share of the Robux. This isn’t fast money, but it’s real and fully allowed. A simple T-shirt that pops off can keep earning for months.

If you get serious and your items or game grow big, you can even cash out through DevEx. It takes dedication, but plenty of creators built a full side hustle out of it.

4. Joining Official Roblox Events

Roblox loves running events, especially around big holidays or brand collabs. You hop into a themed world, complete a few tasks, and get some nice free items for your avatar.

They don’t give out Robux anymore, but these events still save you money. Free hats, accessories, backpacks, and other goodies mean you spend fewer Robux in the shop. If you’re trying to stretch your balance, events help more than you’d think.

Keep an eye on the homepage banners or Roblox’s socials so you don’t miss them.

5. Using Trusted Reward Sites

Minecraft vs. Roblox
Roblox vs Minecraft has been a long standing debate for years now.

Some players want a zero-money option that isn’t tied to building or designing. Reward sites fill that gap. You do small tasks, earn points, and trade them for Roblox gift cards.

But here’s the catch. Stick to well-known platforms. Don’t touch sites asking for your Roblox password or pushing random files on you. A good reward site just gives you tasks and pays you through legit gift cards.

It’s slow, but it works if you stay patient and choose a platform people actually trust.

Once you finally get some Robux, the real trick is avoiding that “buy everything now” feeling. I’ve learned to wait a day before buying anything. Most of the time, I end up realizing I didn’t actually want it that badly.

Pick items you’ll use all the time, like a signature outfit or a game pass in a game you play every day. And seriously, avoid anyone promising free Robux for personal info. If someone is offering thousands for nothing, they aren’t helping you. They’re waiting to steal your stuff.

Play smart, spend smart, and your Robux will go a lot further.

ARC Raiders Is The Most Googled Game in 2025 Despite Releasing in October

Story Highlight
  • ARC Raiders was the top-searched game on Google, despite releasing 2 months ago.
  • It was followed by other popular titles, such as Battlefield 6, Split Fiction, and Expedition 33.
  • GTA 6 took the 7th spot, whereas Call of Duty isn’t among the top searches.

ARC Raiders has emerged as one of the most successful live-service titles of 2025. It has dominated the months when both Black Ops 7 and Battlefield 6 released and continues to grow in popularity even now.

Despite releasing in October, ARC Raiders is now the most Googled game in 2025 as well. It beats the likes of Battlefield 6, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Split Fiction, and more, all of which had an immensely successful year.

Why it matters: ARC Raiders has garnered praise across the industry as the game closes in on 7 million units sold and still averages almost 300K players daily on PC, well above Battlefield and Call of Duty.

Google Trending Games
ARC Raiders topped the list for most trending games on Google in 2025

Geoff Keighley has revealed a top 10 list for the top trending games on Google this year, and Embark’s third-person shooter has topped the list. It is followed by Battlefield 6, Strands, Split Fiction, and Expedition 33.

The title has been an unexpected hit considering how saturated the genre is. Fans are done with live service games, but ARC Raiders proves that, when done correctly and with innovation, they are still very much relevant.

Arc Raiders
Arc Raiders has enamoured fans with brilliant PvPvE gameplay.

Interestingly, despite its immense popularity, GTA 6 was the 7th-most-searched game, while Call of Duty wasn’t even in the top 10, highlighting how far Activision’s title has fallen from grace this year.

Anyhow, the game isn’t showing any signs of slowing down as its popularity continues to surge. Embark is quite adamant about keeping it going and will continue to support it over the years with new content and other features.

PS5 Sales Fall Off In Japan Despite Launch of Cheaper New Model

Story Highlight
  • PlayStation 5 sales in Japan have cooled down once again despite the launch of the $330 region-locked edition.
  • The console saw sales drop 6K from last weekend, selling only 17.5K units in its first week of tracking.
  • Sony introduced this new version of the PS5 in Japan to regain control of its homeland.

Ever since the release of Switch 2 in Japan, the PS5 has struggled to gain a foothold in its home market. The console’s sales have slowly withered away, with even the Nintendo Switch from 2017 overtaking it at one point.

Sony tried to resurrect the console in Japan last month by introducing a cheaper, landlocked model. However, from one look at the latest charts, it doesn’t seem like this strategy is working out too well for Sony.

Why It Matters: A $330 PS5 edition dropping in its second week in Japan is as puzzling to us as it is troubling for Sony.

PS5 Japan
Sony’s $330 Digital PS5 is specific to Japan.

PlayStation 5 sales have dropped once again in Japan this week, despite Sony introducing the $330 version of the console just recently. According to the Famitsu charts, the Japan-exclusive PS5 sold just 17.5K units in its first whole week on the market, down 6K from its launch weekend.

The Nintendo Switch 2 reigned supreme once again, selling 97K units from 24th to 30th November, building a hefty lead over the PS5 once again. The fall off for the cheaper edition of the console is troubling, as it had a brilliant start in just 3 days of tracking last week, selling over 23K units.

The $120 price cut introduced by PlayStation CEO Hideaki Nishino was a massive hit among fans, with many joyfully posting on social media that they are finally able to bring the PS5 home thanks to this generous business decision.

PS5 Japan
Fans in Japan were overjoyed to finally bring the PS5 home thanks to the $330 edition.

But with even this cheap version of the PlayStation 5 failing to make a dent in Nintendo Switch 2’s sales and falling off immediately after release, Sony will have a decision to make, as the PS5’s profitability is already under threat, thanks to rising memory prices

PlayStation Is Working With Left 4 Dead Creator To Publish New PS5 and PC Co-Op Game

Story Highlight
  • PlayStation is funding and publishing a new game in collaboration with Bad Robot Games.
  • The title is an unannounced 4-person co-op shooter being directed by the Left 4 Dead creator.
  • It doesn’t have any further details yet, but it is planned for release on PS5 and PC.

Co-op shooters, if done right, are some of the most popular games among the masses. We’ve had amazing titles in the genre over the years, including Destiny, Killing Floor, Borderlands, and Left 4 Dead

Sony has announced that it is partnering with Bad Robot Games to produce and publish the studio’s first internally developed co-op title, being developed by the Left 4 Dead director. The game will be available on PS5 and PC.
