Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Game Inspired By Fall Guys!

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Invictus is a multiplayer title that takes inspiration from Fall Guys for 16-player matches.
  • The feedback from the latest Assassin’s Creed Invictus playtest has been quite negative.
  • A reliable insider expects the game to be delayed or cancelled following these impressions.

Ubisoft has been hard at work recently, working on diversifying its Assassin’s Creed portfolio. Between Shadows, Mirage, and the upcoming Black Flag Resynced, the French gaming giant has already offered different games for fans of the series in recent years.

Also in development is Assassin’s Creed Invictus, a standalone multiplayer experience from the studio as part of the French gaming giant’s live-service ambitions. However, past reports on the title have not been good, and this trend continues with the latest word from a recent playtest.

Why it matters: Assassin’s Creed Invictus has been in the works for many years and is said to feature a new gameplay style for the franchise, including gameplay with 16-player deathmatches

AC Invictus Was Announced A While Back

According to popular Ubisoft leaker and insider Jonathan, Assassin’s Creed Invictus’ latest playtest was held on April 30. The leaker also shared proof of this playtest, suggesting that his information on the matter is authentic.

He reports that the game was described as being “really awful.” Jonathan states that this spin-off is aiming for a 2026 launch, but as the way things stand, a delay is quite likely.

In fact, the insider even pointed out that Assassin’s Creed Invictus could be cancelled altogether. So far, the game has survived being cancelled despite Ubisoft being quite ruthless when it comes to these matters.

For the unaware, this spin-off was previously described as being inspired by Fall Guys for its 16-player gameplay. This, on its own, raised many concerns among Assassin’s Creed fans, and it seems this report has only validated those concerns.

In other news, the same insider recently suggested that Ubisoft is currently working on remaking the original Assassin’s Creed, following rumors of another Assassin’s Creed remake being in the works.
