The Chinese Gaming Industry Appears to Have Its Next Big Hit!

Story Highlight
  • Phantom Blade Zero previews are out, and they’re absolutely glowing overall.
  • Based on the reception, it is expected to be a solid contender for the GOTY award.
  • The Chinese gaming industry seems to have its next big hit after Black Myth Wukong.

Developed by Chinese studio S-Game, Phantom Blaze Zero is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of the year. Everything we’ve seen so far has been highly promising, and early previews make it sound even more glorious.

Phantom Blade previews are out ahead of the launch later this month, and many call it one of the strongest contenders for the Game of the Year award at The Game Awards 2026, based on how incredible the overall experience is.

Why it matters: This year has had epic releases ranging from Resident Evil Requiem to 007 First Light and more, and S-Game’s title is expected to shine equally bright, if not more, than some of the best games of 2026.

Phantom Blade Zero previews are calling it a solid GOTY contender of 2026

Ahead of final reviews, we’ve gotten previews for Phantom Blade Zero, and they’re glowing, to say the least. IGN calls it the most stylish action game of 2026, with fantastic combat, boss fights, and a highly engaging world.

Other previews clearly call it the most solid contender for the prestigious GOTY award. With GTA 6 expected to be left out of this year’s nominees due to its November release, other games now seem to have a solid chance of winning.

It could be the next big Chinese hit after Black Myth Wukong

Game Informer commends the combat for being so fluid that it almost feels like a Chinese martial arts film. Though no one progressed too much into the story, it appears to be deep, dark, and centred around betrayal.

Anyhow, it seems that the Chinese gaming industry has its next big hit after Black Myth Wukong. The influence that game had was simply amazing, and Phantom Blade could turn up matching all of that glory.
