Story Highlight

  • The pre-sale numbers are estimated to be in the same league as Black Myth Wukong.

Developed by a Chinese studio, S-Game, Phantom Blade Zero is among the most exciting releases of the year. The impact games from the region have had in recent years has been huge, with supreme hits like Black Myth: Wukong

A new report has revealed that Phantom Blade Zero has now crossed 300K copies sold on Steam, with still over 2 months till launch. These are massive numbers that might even go toe-to-toe with the exceptional Wukong.

Why it matters: The hype for the title has been incredible since the first trailer came out. Fans can’t wait to see what the Chinese studio has cooked up with its kung-fu-inspired combat and the dark wuxia setting.

Phantom Blade Zero is tracking for a massive launch with 300K copies already sold on Steam

Data from Alinea Analytics reveals that Phantom Blade Zero is already sitting at over 300K units sold on Steam. Additionally, months before launch, it has already generated over $14.5 million, aiming for a massive launch.

Also, these numbers are just for the Steam version. PlayStation has a deal with the studio and is pushing for it hard, with a dedicated State of Play planned as well. So, we can anticipate high sales on the platform too.

It is one of the most anticipated games of the year

The analysis firm has also revealed that the pre-sales numbers are tracking in the same ballpark as Black Myth Wukong, which is incredibly impressive. China will undoubtedly be its biggest region, but everyone is equally interested.

Moreover, it isn’t even a full-priced $70 game; rather, it costs $60 in the US. The budget isn’t exactly clear, but estimates confirm it to be around $55 million, and it seems that S-Game will top that off in no time at all.
