Phantom Blade Zero’s pre-orders finally went live recently after years of excitement and build-up. To nobody’s surprise, the game was quick to reach Steam and PlayStation’s best-sellers charts soon after pre-orders were opened to the general public.
In the days that have followed, S-Game has now come forward with an official statement. As per the team, the game has officially exceeded expectations in terms of sales.
Why it matters: After Black Myth: Wukong, Phantom Blade Zero could be a huge release for the entire Chinese games industry.
In an official message on BiliBili, the Phantom Blade Zero director confirmed that pre-orders have been above expectations so far. He thanked the audience for putting faith in the team, promising not to let down any of the fans.
The director noted that Donnie Yen’s collaboration with the game has attracted a large audience that may not have otherwise taken an interest in the title. He stated that this move has further helped the team deliver an authentic Chinese martial arts experience.
At the time of writing, Phantom Blade Zero is still among Steam’s top 10 best-selling games. Moreover, PlayStation’s latest State of Play footage has ensured that chatter around the game has remained constant for nearly a full week now.
The pre-order results have far exceeded expectations.

This should further strengthen S-Game’s fanbase, and if Black Myth: Wukong was any indication, Chinese gamers will turn up in huge numbers to acknowledge the region’s next big AAA release.
S-Game’s upcoming release officially arrives on October 29, and after over three years of waiting, fans couldn’t be more excited to finally get their hands on the martial arts-focused action game.
