Reputable Insider Confirms Another Assassin’s Creed Remake Beyond Black Flag

Ubisoft Could Be Remaking Multiple Older Assassin's Creed Games!

Story Highlight
  • Insider claims another Assassin’s Creed remake beyond Black Flag Resynced is in the works.
  • Ubisoft will choose which entry works best after Black Flag remake performs well.
  • Assassin’s Creed Rogue seems to be a contender, as it shares assets with the original Black Flag.

Ubisoft’s much-desperate comeback now seems possible with the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the remake of the 2013 pirate game.

That said, this isn’t all that the French publisher has to offer, as they may now be working on another remake of an older Assassin’s Creed game.

Why it matters: The Assassin’s Creed franchise is now nearly 2 decades old, and some older entries in the series are frantically in need of a remake treatment due to outdated mechanics and graphics, which would also give Ubisoft an opportunity to present them to a newer audience.

This claim comes from Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, who, in a weekly podcast episode of his publication, discussed Ubisoft’s upcoming plans for Assassin’s Creed.

There is another Assassin’s Creed remake in the works, one of the earlier ones.

Further speaking, Tom said that if Black Flag Resynced performs well (which is already based on pre-orders), Ubisoft will decide which other entry should get a remake treatment next.

We know that Black Flag Resynced came into fruition following the failure of Skulls and Bones, and this remake is reusing a lot of assets from the AAAA game.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Paints A Good Picture For Ubisoft’s Future

If they still plan to reuse assets and keep the budget minimal, a remake of Assassin’s Creed Rogue seems very likely next up, since the game shares all assets with the original Black Flag.

Although it would be better if Ubisoft remade the original Assassin’s Creed game, which, in my opinion, is unplayable due to missing features like subtitles, skip cutscene functionality, and a slow, repetitive pace.

Whatever the case may be, we can expect multiple remakes for older Assassin’s Creed games, which would be a blast for veteran series fans and at the same time, introduce the series to a whole new audience who isn’t familiar with the original games.
