CDPR pleasantly surprised everyone by revealing that The Witcher 3 Remastered is arriving this year, before we get next year’s massive DLC. What made it even more amazing is the fact that it is a free update for everyone who already owns the title. The Witcher 3 Remastered only just came out and has managed to garner over 100K players on Steam. Additionally, it is also the highest-rated game of the year and is 50% off on Steam with all DLCs included. Why it matters: The RPG is often considered the best in the genre and is the benchmark for most open-world games so many years later. If it wasn’t already this relevant, the remaster update sure makes it so. The Witcher 3 Remastered has surpassed the original game’s peak player count with over 103K CCU on Steam. It has reached this number despite it not even being a weekend, so we might even see it break past the current peak. The Remaster overhauls almost the entire game. According to the patch notes, it has a total of over 90 changes and improvements. The visuals, combat, mechanics, inventory, and everything have been upgraded. CDPR deserves all the praise it gets, especially when they could’ve easily charged for all these upgrades. Anyhow, the fun isn’t over since next year, we are also due to get the third and final expansion, Songs of the Past.
