- Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe is open to bringing Palworld to Nintendo Switch 2, describing the console as an exciting platform for potential discussions.
- No Switch 2 port has been confirmed, with Pocketpair yet to announce development plans, technical details, or a release window.
- Nintendo and The Pokémon Company’s patent lawsuit against Pocketpair remains ongoing, with a preliminary court view expected on November 9, 2026.
Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe says he would welcome the chance to discuss bringing Palworld to Nintendo Switch 2, but no port has been announced and no such talks have been confirmed.
In a new VGC interview, Mizobe called Switch 2 an “amazing platform” and said that if Pocketpair ever had the opportunity to discuss or consider bringing Palworld to Nintendo hardware, the studio would “love to have those conversations.”
Pocketpair Wants Palworld On Switch 2

The comment is a clear expression of interest, not a development announcement. Pocketpair has not said a Switch 2 version is in production, and Mizobe did not provide a release window, technical target, or publishing plan.
The studio’s position has evolved with Nintendo’s newer hardware. VGC notes that Mizobe had previously viewed an original Switch version as unlikely because of technical limits, while Pocketpair communications director John Buckley later described a Switch 2 port as worth considering if the new system proved powerful enough.
The legal backdrop is significant, but its exact effect on a potential port is unknown. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Pocketpair in the Tokyo District Court on September 18, 2024. Nintendo’s official notice says the plaintiffs are seeking an injunction and damages over alleged infringement of multiple patent rights.
VGC reports that the case remains active. It also says the lawsuit was modified in November 2025 to focus on older versions of Palworld after Pocketpair changed some disputed mechanics, including Pal-summoning and Pal-based gliding behavior. The Tokyo District Court is expected to disclose its preliminary view on November 9, 2026.
That makes the lawsuit an obvious complication around any Nintendo-platform discussion, but neither Nintendo nor Pocketpair has publicly said the litigation legally prevents a Switch 2 release. A settlement may change the business context, but it is not a publicly stated requirement for a port.
Technical details are similarly unannounced. Switch 2 is considerably more capable than the original Switch, and Mizobe is now openly positive about the platform, but Pocketpair has not announced performance targets, optimization work, or an active Switch 2 build.
For now, the confirmed story is narrower: Pocketpair would like the opportunity to discuss Palworld on Switch 2, while its patent dispute with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company remains unresolved. Any actual port, approval process, or release timing would require a separate announcement.
