KyTy has proven to be extremely capable when it comes to emulating PS5 titles like GTA 5 and Demon’s Souls.
The emulator’s progress has been astonishing to see, with the latter title being pushed from 1FPS to 30FPS in a matter of a week. However, as of today, Demon’s Souls Remake runs between 40-50FPS via KyTyPS5.
Why it matters: At this rate, it won’t be long before the game is fully playable at 60FPS with all the bells and whistles that come along with console emulation on PC.
As seen above, Demon’s Souls Remake is now hitting up to 50FPS on PC through PS5 emulation.
This result has been achieved using an RTX 5090 and an Intel Core i9-14900K combo. Although the hardware itself is beyond the reach of most people, rapid improvements could mean that this performance might soon be achievable using much less capable hardware combos.
It goes without saying, but improvements at this rate are practically unheard of, especially for hardware as recent as the PS5. If things continue to move along at the same pace, Demon’s Souls Remake could become the first fully playable PS5 exclusive on PC via emulation.
Do note that other PS5 exclusives, like Astro Bot, have shown similar progress lately. Therefore, it will be quite intriguing to see where KyTyPS5 goes from here on out.
