- Demon’s Souls Remake recently became playable on the KyTy PS5 emulator.
- Since its debut, the game has gone from running at 1FPS to 30FPS in around a single week.
- The progress shows just how many strides the console’s emulation has taken in a short span of time.
PS5 emulation has been a hot topic of discussion lately, mainly due to big titles like GTA 5 and Demon’s Souls Remake showing just how capable the console’s emulation has become today.
The latter, in particular, is being worked on rigorously. Demon’s Souls Remake now runs up to 30FPS via KyTy on PC.
Why it matters: With PlayStation no longer porting its biggest first-party titles to PC, gamers have taken it upon themselves to get these titles working on the platform.

The PS5 emulation scene has made a surprisingly quick jump with Demon’s Souls Remake, taking the game from around 1FPS to roughly 30FPS.
As shown above, the game is now capable of running at standard console frame rates from the last generation. Although performance still leaves a lot to be desired, this progress suggests it won’t be too long before 60FPS via KyTy becomes a reality.
Note that Demon’s Souls Remake still drops below 30FPS frequently, but the fact that it achieves this benchmark through the emulator at all is a big deal. After all, it wasn’t long ago that the game was booted on PC via emulation for the first time.

Some may remember how quickly Bloodborne emulation via ShadPS4 improved a few years back. In many ways, Demon’s Souls Remake’s situation is reminiscent of Bloodborne emulation, highlighting how quickly the community is making improvements.
Of course, there’s still work to be done, but PS5 emulation via KyTy is nothing short of a miracle so far.
