Diablo 5 Announced for 2029 And StarCraft for 2030!

Story Highlight
  • Blizzard recently announced Diablo 5 and StarCraft for 2029 and 2030, respectively.
  • The studio head says they announced them this early to convey confidence in the team.
  • They are positive they will deliver great quality and meet the release windows as well.

Blizzard recently announced several new projects in development. It has revealed some major projects, including Diablo 5 and the highly rumored StarCraft shooter games, but their release windows are still in the distant future.

Considering that the release windows are quite volatile in the current industry, many questioned why they announced them this early. Blizzard says they did this years ahead of launch to convey that the studio is confident

Why it matters: Blizzard hasn’t seemed too busy since the Xbox acquisition, and many wondered what the studio was working on; finally, they’ve revealed it, but most of it is still multiple years away from launch.

StarCraft
New StarCraft is set to launch in 2030, 4 years from now

Speaking to Bloomberg, studio head Johanna Faries said that they made the announcements years in advance because they want to showcase confidence in some of their biggest titles coming in the future.

She continued that they are going to ship massive games in the future, and they are sure to meet the deadlines and release everything on time. These are 2 of the studio’s biggest IPs, and they want to make it count.

Diablo 5
Diablo 5 will also release 3 years from now in 2029

Anyhow, fans will still have to wait at least 3 more years for Diablo 5, and 4 for StarCraft. Additionally, Blizzard has revealed some new updates for current games like World of Warcraft and Diablo 4, along with its Netflix show.
