Productivity
Despite RX 9070 XT’s higher gaming performance, the productivity benchmarks were in complete favor of the RTX 5070. In all of the software, the RTX 5070 performed higher, particularly 7.5% higher than the RX 9070 XT. This also includes one AI-driven task, where the RTX 5070 displayed its superiority.
Power Consumption
Power Consumption | RX 9070 XT | RTX 5070 |
---|---|---|

Winner: RTX 5070 |
Despite being a higher-performing card in the productivity sector, the RTX 5070 also had the lowest power consumption. It showed 9.2% better power efficiency than the RX 9070 XT. Although the difference isn’t extremely high, it is still good.
Price And Availability
GPU | RX 9070 XT | RTX 5070 | Price Difference |
---|---|---|---|
Launch MSRP | 💲599 | 💲549 | 8.7% |
Current Price | 💲749 | 💲713 | 4.9% |
Both cards were recently released, so their prices have risen slightly from their MSRP. The RX 9070 XT is 4.9% cheaper than the RTX 5070. But the cost of both of these GPUs will rise, and we expect the RTX 5070’s price to increase more than its rival’s since most of Nvidia’s cards have a hefty price tag compared to AMD’s cards.
Final Verdict—What We Recommend?
RTX 5070: This card has been a poor release from Nvidia, given their previous track record of cards. Previously, they had produced successful cards from the 40-class series, and the RTX 4070 Super still performs relatively better than the RTX 5070 in gaming, so it seems like a pointless release in general.
RX 9070 XT: This card has made people lean more towards AMD, even if they were previously Nvidia users. This is because it offers significantly greater gaming performance with better upscaling thanks to FSR 4. Its price might not increase as much as Nvidia’s cards, which will make this card even more appealing.
We recommend the RX 9070 XT in comparison to the RTX 5070. Yes, it does lack slightly in terms of productivity, but if its future price is lower than the RTX 5070’s, it automatically becomes a better option to consider. However, if its price becomes atrociously high, then the RTX 5070 would be the best bet.
While the RTX 5070 features better AI performance and has slightly higher productivity, its gaming performance isn’t as high as that of previous-generation cards. The RX 9070 XT is better for 4K, especially in single-player games. For other games, FSR 4 is needed to run them smoothly. The RTX 5070 has to rely on DLSS 4 to run most games at 4K. Both cards feature advanced AI upscaling, support PCIe gen 5, and are based on new architecture. But, the RX 9070 XT is a future-proof card due to its higher VRAM and performance. The RTX 5070 is better for AI and content creation than the RX 9070 XT because it consists of CUDA, higher tensor cores, and improved AI accelerators. Although the RTX 5070 has lower RT cores, it comes with dedicated RT cores, which, paired with DLSS 4, makes it better in ray tracing than the RX 9070 XT.FAQs
