NieR: Automata developers expected the game to sell around 750K-1million copies.
However, the game has sold 9 million copies to date, 10 times more than expected.
This is impressive, considering the game was developed in just over 2 years with a minimal budget.
PlatinumGames outdid themselves with NieR: Automata, creating one of the best RPGs and saving the Japanese gaming industry at its all-time low.
Its success even surprised its developers, who didn’t believe the game would perform well. However, NieR: Automata sold 10 times more than expected.
Why it matters: PlatinumGames is now considered a pioneer in the Japanese gaming industry, having created some of the best RPGs, and NieR: Automata is just one of the successes in their books.
Yosuke Saito, producer of the game, and Yoko Taro, its director, sat down for an interview to discuss the release of NieR: Automata. Yoko Taro expected the game to sell 750k copies, twice what the first NieR game sold, while Yosuke Saito set the bar for a million copies.
However, both their expectations were shattered as NieR: Automata has now surpassed the 9 million sales mark. This is more surprising considering that the game was developed in a little over 2 years and had a very minimal budget from Square Enix.
Stellar Blade and NieR: Automata crossover was a banger.
Despite such a massive success for an AA title, NieR hasn’t seen a new mainline entry in over 8 years. NieR: Reincarnation was released in 2021 but was a mobile title.
However, a new entry may be on the horizon and set for a reveal this year. The series will celebrate its 15th anniversary on April 19 with a new event. The producer, Yousuke Saito, has practically confirmed a new entry, and it’s exciting to see where NieR will head.
What are your thoughts on NieR’s success? What do you expect from the following entry, with the bar now set so high? Let us know in the comments below or head towards the official Tech4Gamers Forums.

Zombie games sharpen survival instincts by teaching quick decision making and alertness.
Resource management in these games mirrors real life crisis planning where everything counts.
Multiplayer zombie games emphasize team coordination, communication and collective survival strategies.
Facing the fear element in these games build his resilience to real-life stress situations.
Have you ever found yourself strategizing how you’d survive a zombie apocalypse, mapping escape routes, rationing supplies and choosing your ideal weapon? If so, you are not alone. Thanks to playing countless survival games a lot of us have unknowingly trained for the rise of the undead.
From resource management to much needed teamwork these games have trained us and sharpened skills that could prove surprisingly useful in a zombie infested world.
Situational Awareness and Quick Decision-Making
One of the most important skills needed in a zombie apocalypse is to quickly assess danger and make rapid decisions. Games like The Last of Us Part 2 and Left 4 Dead force players to instantly react to threats whether it’s dodging an incoming horde or strategizing an escape route.
The Last of Us (Image by PlayStation)
In the scenario of an actual zombie apocalypse this kind of split-second decision making is crucial under high pressure scenarios and trains players to think correctly.
Resource Management and Scavenging
Survival horror games emphasize the importance of managing limited resources. In the game that continues to define the survival horror genre Resident Evilammo and health packs are scarce and forces players to conserve and prioritize.
Similarly, the game State of Decay requires scavenging for supplies and rationing food and medicine. These games teach us a valuable real-world lesson that in a crisis, supplies won’t be unlimited. Knowing how to stretch resources over longer durations and how to manage them may just mean the difference between life and death in a real zombie apocalypse.
Combat and Self-Defense Strategies
Many survival games simulate combat scenarios where players must fend off the undead. Dying Light combines parkour with mele combat encouraging players to think creatively about escape and escape tactics.
Dying light 2 (Image by Steam)
Even games such as Call of Duty: Zombies train players in teamwork, firearm accuracy and strategic positioning skills. These skills could prove vital if faced with a real zombie horde.
Teamwork and Communication
When it comes to surviving an apocalypse, it isn’t a solo act. Multiplayer zombie games like Project Zomboid and Days Gone emphasize the importance of teamwork and coordination which is a must in case of a zombie apocalypse.
Players must assign roles, communicate and support each other in order to survive. In a real apocalypse your ability to communicate with others may just determine whether you thrive or fall victim to the chaos.
Adaptability and Improvisation
Games rarely provide the perfect plan, things go wrong, and players must adapt. In the game The Killing Antidote, every choice has consequences forcing players to improvise in unpredictable situations and adapt.
Crisis simulation in video games allow for players to learn how to adapt themselves to a given situation which may prove helpful. The ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing circumstances is a vital survival skill that applies beyond just zombie outbreaks.
The Killing Antidote (Image by Pinterest)
Mental Resilience and Stress Management
Enduring a zombie apocalypse will be just as much of a mental challenge as it will be a physical one. Having mental resilience is a must when dealing with the apocalypse. One must be mentally at peace with the fact that society as they know it has come to an end.
Horror games help in this regard by simulating stress, fear and desperation. Games that build mental resilience through atmospheric challenges such as Metro Exodus teach players a valuable lesson to always stay calm in case of a crisis as being able to think straight in a tough situation is much needed, especially in case of a zombie apocalypse.
While video games may not turn us into full fledge zombie slaying-warriors they certainly do equip us with valuable survival instincts. From quick thinking and resourcefulness to teamwork and staying calm, the lessons taught in video games may translate well into real world crisis situations helping us to survive better.
So, if a zombie apocalypse does hit gamers may very well have the upper hand. Until then, keep practicing as you never know when you will have to face off against the undead.

Monster Hunter Wilds is still amongst the best-selling games on Steam.
It came out a month ago and is still dominating Capcom’s sales charts.
The title also recently broke the monthly sales record for the company.
Capcom has found huge success with the latest entry of its Monster Hunter franchise, with the game dominating sales records. It is performing so well that even over a month after its launch, Monster Hunter Wilds is still among the top 3 Steam sellers.
Why it matters: Monster Hunter Wilds recently sold more than 10 million copies in just a month, marking Capcom’s fastest-ever sales numbers, and it seems sales are continuing to boom.
Monster Hunter Wilds is still among the top 3 best sellers on Steam.
While Capcom is no stranger to huge sales, the speed at which its latest entry has sold is truly staggering. Monster Hunter has always had a huge fan base, but this new title has opened it up to an even larger audience.
Interestingly, despite these massive sales figures, Monster Hunter Wilds has a mixed rating overall, with over 80,000 negative reviews on Steam. The major complaint is the poor optimization, especially bad graphics on mid-range GPUs.
The RPG is now the fastest-selling title in Capcom’s history.
However, that doesn’t remove the fact that the title has been revolutionary. The new mechanics and physics introduced with the title are so brilliant that they make it very difficult to return to the older games.
With the release of its latest title, Capcom has found a huge franchise in Monster Hunter. This puts it neck-and-neck with its other major franchises, like Resident Evil, which has also sold millions of units worldwide.
What are your thoughts on Monster Hunter Wilds still being among the top sellers on Steam? Let us know your opinions in the comments, or join the discussion at the Tech4Gamers forum.

Apple’s Pro Display XDR has not been updated since 2019, while competitors continue introducing more advanced alternatives.
The high price and lack of basic features make it less appealing, especially as OLED and Mini-LED displays gain popularity.
Apple must release a new version with modern features and a better pricing strategy to stay competitive in the high-end monitor market.
If you want to upgrade your monitor for professional work, Apple has built a reputation for creating premium products, and its high-end monitors are no exception. The Pro Display XDR was once considered the top-tier choice for professionals who needed a high-quality display for photo or video editing or other demanding tasks.
However, this monitor has become outdated compared to competitor’s products as time passes. Newer technologies and more affordable alternatives are now available, making it harder for the Pro Display XDR to stay relevant. If Apple wants to maintain its position in the high-end display market, it needs to release an updated version.
Lack Of Updates And Rising Competition
Pro Display XDR: A Top Choice for Professional Work – Image Credit (Apple)
Apple’s other monitor, Studio Display, launched in 2022 at $1,599 (standard glass), continues to receive updates. According to Mark Gurman, Apple is working on a mini-LED version of the Studio Display, which is expected to launch by 2026.
The problem is that Pro Display XDR hasn’t received any major updates since its release in 2019. Apple has not made significant improvements to the monitor. This focus on other displays while delaying updates for the Pro Display XDR makes it less appealing to professional users.
We are now in an era of rapid technological advancement. For instance, CES 2025 showcased various monitors, setting new trends, with OLED displays becoming more affordable and shifting beyond content creators to professional users.
Another major issue with this monitor is its high price. The base model alone costs $4,999, not including a stand. The Pro Stand costs an additional $999, which is ridiculous to charge for something basic. For those who prefer the nano-texture glass option for better glare reduction, the price can climb to $7,000.
At this price point, users expect all the essential features, but the Pro Display XDR lacks some basic ones common in much cheaper alternatives. For example, it doesn’t have a built-in webcam, speakers, or Apple’s internal chip for features like Center Stage and Spatial Audio.
Better Alternatives At Lower Prices
Best Pro Display XRD Alternative: Budget-Friendly Asus Pro Art – Image Credit (Tech4Gamers)
This year, brands like Asus and LG offer higher-resolution displays at more affordable prices. For instance, LG’s 5K OLED monitor, the world’s highest-resolution display, costs under $1,999. Meanwhile, Asus introduced ProArt, a budget-friendly monitor designed for professionals.
These alternatives provide exceptional quality at a fraction of the cost, making them the preferred choice for professionals who want the best without spending thousands of dollars.
When the Pro Display XDR was first released, it targeted professionals who needed high color accuracy and brightness for creative tasks. However, Apple has largely ignored the monitor since its launch, while the Studio Display continues to receive updates. This raises the question: Is Apple still committed to the high-end monitor market?
While Apple claims to be committed to its pro users, it still shows no sign of an update. Now, professionals who rely on Apple’s high-end monitors face uncertainty. If Apple doesn’t update the Pro Display XDR, they may be forced to switch to other brands.
What It Means For Mac Pro Users
This lack of updates is a significant issue for Mac mini and studio users dependent on Apple’s high-end monitors. Apple is expected to release a new Mac Studio soon. Still, if the Pro Display XDR isn’t updated alongside it, users will be forced to explore other high-end display options that offer advanced display technologies.
One reason for this stagnation could be Apple’s focus on the more affordable Studio Display. The Pro Display XDR’s high price makes it inaccessible to most users, leading Apple to prioritize a monitor that appeals to a broader audience.
However, it is unlikely that Apple will completely abandon its high-end monitor. The company has built its reputation on premium products, and professionals still expect a top-tier Apple display.
However, if Apple wants to retain its professional user base, it must release a new version of the Pro Display XDR with modern features. Additionally, Apple must reconsider its pricing strategy, as many competitors now offer similar or superior displays at a fraction of the cost.

AMD’s RX 9070 and XT versions offer significantly better performance under $600 but still need a price cut to stay competitive.
Nvidia’s new GPUs hit $2,000, with supply shortages continuing to frustrate gamers.
Intel’s Arc B-series is outperforming its rivals in the budget segment, potentially pushing AMD and Nvidia to offer better deals in the future.
In 2025, the way we experience games has changed significantly due to ultra-realistic graphics, thanks to advancements in hardware and software technologies. At CES 2025, Nvidia introduced many new GPUs and DLSS advancements, while AMD revealed the Radeon RX 9070 and its XT version.
Despite these advancements, one thing remains stagnant, the high price of GPUs. This is a big issue for PC gamers, as many prefer PC gaming, but with GPUs costing over $600, affordability is becoming a major concern. The competition between Nvidia and AMD isn’t leading to the price cuts that gamers need.
RX 9070 Series Under $600: Still Overpriced
RDNA 4 Details Via AMD
According to our testing, AMD is offering better performance with the RX 9070 compared to Nvidia’s RTX 5070 at the same price of $550. However, its XT version is significantly better than the 9070 with only a small price difference, featuring 16GB of VRAM, which is excellent for gaming at higher resolutions.
The RX 9070 is a solid card compared to Nvidia, but when comparing the card with its XT version, the major downside is the pricing strategy. We tested both and found the XT version is offering much better performance with only $50 more, making it a more appealing choice for consumers.
This isn’t the first time AMD has applied this strategy. Previously, with the RX 7900 XT and 7900 XTX, AMD did the same thing. Our testing indicates that the XT version significantly underperforms compared to the XTX version. However, their prices were too similar, making the XTX the better value. The same issue is now happening with the RX 9070.
Last time, AMD had to lower the price of the RX 7900 XT to counter Nvidia’s GPUs. According to our evaluation, RX 9070 is better than RX 7900 XT in performance at a cheaper price. Lowering its price below $500 would challenge Nvidia and make the 9070 a clear choice over the XT version for budget-conscious gamers.
Nvidia’s Pricing Strategy Needs A Reality Check
There’s no doubt that Nvidia has been dominating the GPU market for years, and with the GeForce RTX 50 series, it is pushing the boundaries of gaming visuals even further. However, Nvidia’s latest GPUs are facing supply shortages and pricing issues.
GeForce RTX 5090 Reference Design
We tested some of Nvidia’s latest GPUs and found the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti good cards, but they are too expensive for many PC gamers to justify spending on a single component. Additionally, the RTX 5090, the most powerful GPU on the market hit $2,000, making it unaffordable for gamers.
Nvidia should rethink its pricing strategy, as most gamers won’t overspend on a single component. Moreover, unlike AMD, Nvidia isn’t producing enough stock, leading to availability issues. If AMD continues selling the RX 9070 XT at a competitive price, Nvidia will have to respond, otherwise, the company risks losing customers.
We don’t recommend gamers spend more than $500 on a GPU for great gaming visuals, as upscaling technologies now enhance performance and gaming experience. Moreover, AMD is researching a new upscaling technology to further improve performance and visual quality.
The GPU Market Needs Fairer Prices
Graphics card prices have skyrocketed in recent years. The community is shocked by how much inflation is affecting PC part prices, but the biggest factor remains Nvidia and AMD’s pricing strategy. Both companies refuse to lower prices, knowing that a major portion of gamers will still buy their products.
GeForce RTX 5000 Series Pricing
A high-end GPU now costs more than an entire PlayStation console or Xbox Series X. If someone is willing to invest in an expensive GPU, they won’t want to compromise on other components like the monitor, power supply, or cooling system, making the overall cost unaffordable.
Looking ahead, Intel is also entering the GPU market with its new Arc B-series. While not targeting high-end models yet, according to benchmark results, the Arc B580 outperforms its rivals. With strong budget GPUs Intel could push AMD and Nvidia to offer better deals in the future.
Gamers have been paying too much for too long, and it’s time for a change. We have already stopped upgrading Nvidia’s GPU further. One thing is clear: more gamers will start looking for alternatives if AMD and Nvidia don’t start offering better deals.

Handheld gaming PCs are revolutionizing portable gaming by merging power with mobility.
Devices such as the Steam Deck and the ROG Ally showcase the demand for portable PC gaming.
Modular and upgradable designs may extend the life span of handheld gaming PCs.
As we all know it the gaming industry has always been in a constant state of evolution, striving to give gamers the best experiences. Recent years have seen the rise of handheld gaming PCs which has been a major development in the industry.
Devices such as the Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go and ASUS ROG Ally have blurred the lines traditional gaming consols and laptops. This has allowed for players to take their favorite games with them on the go. Let’s discuss what the future holds for these handheld consoles.
The Rise of Handheld Gaming PCs
For a long time, the world of handheld gaming was dominated by consoles such as the PlayStation Portable (PSP), Nintendo Switch and Game Boy etc. However, there was a problem with these consoles, they relied on exclusive software and hardware restricting the number of available games.
The introduction of powerful handled consoles to the world of gaming has revolutionized portable gaming by providing gamers access to a huge library of games minus the portability restrictions of traditional setups. The success of Valve’s Steam Deck has proved that there is a huge demand for handheld PCs that offer both power and portability.
Steam Deck – Image Credits (Pinterest)
The device running on a custom AMD APU and leveraging Steam’s extensive game library has opened the doors for competitors such as Lenovo, ASUS and Ayaneo to enter the market with their own powerful handheld Gaming PCs. However, the peak of the Steam Deck has now passed and currently it is unable to run new AAA titles.
As days pass games demand more and more processing power which current handheld PCs are unable to offer. The future of handheld gaming PCs will depend majorly on the following advancements in key areas:
Processing Power and Efficiency
Modern handheld gaming PCs already feature custom APUs and GPUs from AMD and Intel, but players are expecting future consoles to push the boundaries even further. With the development of more efficient chipsets such as the AMD Ryzen Z1 series and Microsoft’s potential entry into the space, handhelds will continue to bridge the gap between power and efficiency.
Display and Refresh Rate Improvements
Screen technology is another major factor in the evolution of handheld gaming consoles. Current models offer 120Hz refresh rates and OLED options. Future models are expected to bring better resolution, faster response times, and improved efficiency through mini or micro-LED displays.

Higher refresh rates and adaptive sync technology will ensure smoother gameplay without draining battery life too quickly. Additionally, handhelds by companies such as Xbox will feature AI upscaling methods further improving the visual experience.
Battery Life Innovations
Battery life remains as one of the biggest issues when it comes to handheld gaming PCs. Current handheld gaming PCs struggle to provide extended play sessions when used at high settings. With advances in battery chemistry, energy efficient processors and with better power management software playtime could significantly improve without a compromise in performance.
Cloud Gaming Integration
Cloud gaming services such as the NVIDIA GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming and PlayStation Plus Cloud Streaming has added a new dimension to handheld gaming. Future handheld gaming consoles could feature the use of 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity to enable seamless cloud gaming experiences. This will reduce reliance on local processing power allowing for even thinner and lighter devices.

Modular and Upgradable Designs
A huge issue with current handheld consoles is upgradability. Future designs could incorporate modular components allowing for players to able to upgrade RAM, storage and even processors. This approach may cause some engineering challenges, but companies are already experimenting to try and lengthen the lifespan of handheld gaming consoles.

The Role of Software Optimization
Software plays a crucial role in any device whether it be handheld or not. Current gaming PCs run Windows, Linux based operating systems or have custom user interfaces. Manufacturers in the future must ensure seamless optimization for handheld use and create user friendly interfaces.
As technology continues to advance handheld gaming PCs are set to become even more efficient and versatile. Ultimately the future of handheld gaming PCs will be dependent on how well manufacturers balance power and portability while addressing certain challenges such as battery life and software issues. The question is are handhelds here to stay? to which I’ll say only time can tell.

Halo has struggled with Halo Infinite failing to meet expectations due to missing features, technical issues, and slow updates.
The Master Chief Collection remains a fan favourite, proving that players still love classic Halo titles and well-curated game collections.
A new Halo spin-off collection featuring overlooked titles could revive interest in the franchise and industry for regaining trust.
Halo has been one of the biggest franchises in the shooting game world for decades. The game made Xbox famous and provided players with an unforgettable experience. Just play The Master Chief Collection, which includes the most famous Halo games, and you will understand why players love the franchise so much.
Halo Switching To Unreal Engine 5
Halo games were known for their exciting multiplayer battles, strong storytelling, and thrilling sci-fi universe in the early 2000s. Titles like Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3 helped make Xbox a popular and powerful gaming platform.
Although millions of fans have loved the franchise, Halo has struggled in recent years with its most recent mainline games, and players have started losing interest. To restore its former glory, Halo needs to re-engage players, and one way is by releasing a new collection of Halo’s forgotten gems.
The Downfall Of Halo After 2020
After 2020, the Halo franchise faced significant challenges. While the series had a strong legacy, the decline became more apparent with the bad Halo Infinite campaign, which was blamed on poor leadership at 343 Industries.
Earlier, Halo: Combat Evolved, released in 2001, revolutionized first-person shooter with its innovative mechanics and a multiplayer mode that kept players engaged for hours. Halo 2 brought online multiplayer to Xbox Live, and Halo 3 further refined the experience.
This original Halo trilogy is regarded as one of the greatest in gaming history. Even after Bungie, the original developer behind releasing the trilogy and Halo: Reach, Halo 4 continued introducing new gameplay mechanics and deep storytelling.
However, after 343 Industries took over Halo from Bungie, the franchise began receiving more mixed reactions. Halo 5: Guardians disappointed many fans by removing key features, though it still had a solid multiplayer mode. But the real turning point came with negative community reviews about Halo Infinite.
Microsoft promised a fresh experience with an open-world campaign and a free-to-play multiplayer mode. But the game launched with major problems, including, bugs, and missing Forge and Co-op Campaign features. After time passed, Halo Infinite somehow redeemed itself through updates and player feedback.
Players Love The Master Chief Collection
If we set Halo Infinite aside for a moment, we can see how deeply fans were connected to the Halo series. The player’s interest in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, released on 11 November 2014, for Xbox One, proves this.
The collection contains the best games in the franchise in one package, allowing fans to relive classic adventures while introducing new players to a polished and modern experience.
MCC includes Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4. This means you can experience the full Halo story without needing multiple consoles or versions. For newcomers, the collection makes it easy to understand how the series has evolved, both in terms of storytelling and gameplay.
Overall, MCC is one of the best things Microsoft and 343 Industries have done for Halo. However, Halo has more than just its mainline titles. Halo should revive its forgotten gems by creating a separate collection for them.
A New Collection Of Halo Spin-Offs
Most players only know the main Halo games, but several spin-off titles have been overlooked. Games like Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo: Spartan Strike, Halo: Fireteam Raven, Halo Wars, Halo Wars 2, and Halo 5: Guardians never got the attention they deserved.
Halo Game Visuals – Image Credit (Tech4Gamers)
To bring new life to Halo after the infinite disappointment, Microsoft should create a new collection of these spin-off games. The success of The MCC proved that fans love revisiting older Halo titles. A new collection containing Halo’s forgotten gems could attract both longtime fans and new players.
Among these spin-offs, some were made for PC, some for Xbox One, and some for mobile devices. Halo: Fireteam Raven, an on-rails arcade shooter, was exclusive to arcade machines. All these spin-offs can be enhanced with a cross-platform approach, allowing more players to enjoy.
Packaging these games together with modern updates, would help keep the franchise alive. Moreover, instead of focusing only on graphics, Microsoft could showcase the depth and diversity of the Halo universe. In this way, 343 Industries keeps the series popular while proving they can still deliver great Halo experiences.
At T4G, my task is to cover the latest news around the gaming globe ASAP and with the utmost precision. I adore all the games and respect all the devs behind the amazing games that we get all year. So, whether it’s a PC or a Console game, I got it all covered.

The Last of Us season 2 is set to release next week, and we’ve already started getting its early reviews. Based on the critically acclaimed PlayStation franchise, the new season continues the story of Joel and Ellie in the post-apocalyptic world.
Based on the reviews so far, The Last of Us season 2 has debuted with a 92% score, indicating that the directors have done a fantastic job with the new season.
Why it matters: Despite criticism of some of the casting choices, the first season did quite well, and the continuation seems to be following a path towards success as well.
TLOU season 2 debuts with a 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes
On Rotten Tomatoes, The Last of Us season 2 has been rated certified fresh with a huge majority of the reviews praising it. The reviews praise it for adapting the games very faithfully, but still possessing its strong personality.
Bella Ramsey was largely criticized as Ellie, however, it seems she has managed to win over the audience as well. The reviews are in awe of Pedro Pascal’s portrayal of Joel, but also appreciate the great work by Ramsey and Isabela Merced, playing Dina.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return for season 2
The only real gripe people have about the show is that sometimes it feels unsure of itself. Nonetheless, most critics are totally fine with it and state that season 2 continues to prove that The Last of Us is the best adapted TV show from a game ever.
Season 2 comes out on April 13, 2025. We’ll leave out any spoilers, but know that this season will be full of heart-wrenching moments, and we can even expect that huge incident towards the end as well.

FromSoftware recently announced Duskbloods as a Switch 2 exclusive.
Following the announcement, fans believed that the title would not receive a PC port and would instead end up like Bloodborne.
Since FromSoftware owns the Duskbloods IP and not Nintendo, the possibility of a PC Port remains high.
FromSoftware recently announced that their latest title, Duskbloods, will be an exclusive release for the Switch 2. Following the announcement, fans of the studio have been really furious, as they believe the title will end up just like Bloodborne and will not be released on other platforms.
However, it appears that won’t be the case as the Duskbloods IP is owned by FromSoftware, unlike Bloodborne, which Sony owns. So, there is a possibility that we will actually see a PC version of the title sooner than we think.
Why it matters: Since Sony owns the Bloodborne IP, FromSoftware cannot interfere with the PC port, as Sony will always have the final verdict.
As seen above, the official website of Duskbloods has the FromSoftware trademark on the bottom, suggesting that the Japanese publisher owns the IP.
Moreover, the trademark filed for Duskbloods further confirms that, indeed, FromSoftware owns the IP. This suggests that fans could expect the title to be released on PC.
Since fans still blame the developers for not releasing the PC port of Bloodborne, Studio lead Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed long ago that he was not the one to decide whether there should be a PC port; the decisions could only be made by Sony.
The Duskbloods Looks Awfully Similar To Bloodborne
We will likely get Duskbloods on PC and other platforms soon after its release, but that is a long way to go, as the title is expected to be released in 2026. So, PC fans can expect to enjoy the title around 2027 or 2028.
Still, waiting for a year or two would not be as disappointing as waiting for over a decade for a title. There is still no news about the PC port of Bloodborne, but the game has already been made playable on PC thanks to the ShadPS4 emulation.
However, are you excited about the Duskbloods? Do you think the title will be released on other platforms, or will it have the same destiny as Bloodborne? Share your thoughts in the comments or join the Tech4Gamers forums.

In a new interview, Phil Spencer has confirmed that Xbox is serious about handheld gaming and its market.
When questioned about whether we can expect anything this year, he said he’s very excited about what’s to come from Xbox.
Xbox is allegedly working on an official handheld for 2027, alongside another in partnership with ASUS, which might come much sooner.
After an anticlimactic conclusion to the console wars, many in the gaming scene have argued that companies have started fighting to dominate the handheld market next. Now, Phil Spencer has affirmed that Xbox is indeed serious about handheld gaming.
The Xbox boss has once again teased plans for multiple Xbox handhelds and explained that the company is about to penetrate its market pretty soon.
Why it matters: A motley of rumors suggests that Xbox is working on multiple handhelds. Along with the official one, the brand has also partnered with ASUS to supposedly launch a portable later this year.
In an interview with iJustine, Phil Spencer was asked whether Xbox is cooking something exciting for later this year. The CEO clarified that he is ‘very excited’ about the handhelds that Xbox has teased so far because you can play games on them anywhere.
We’ve teased and talked about handhelds and I’m very excited because we both travel, and sometimes you can’t always take your console or your whole gaming desktop with you.
While his response didn’t confirm any details directly, it suggests that Xbox will unveil more details soon. At the moment, Xbox is rumored to be working on an official handheld in addition to another one in collaboration with ASUS.
Dubbed Project Kennan, the partner handheld has been officially teased and is expected to get a detailed reveal in the Summer Showcase. It is rumored to come out later this year with a competitive $499 to $599 price tag.
The rumors regarding an official Xbox handheld have existed for a few years.
Do you think Xbox will be able to penetrate the handheld market and dominate the existing competition, or will the device just be a brand novelty? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Netflix has recently released a Devil May Cry anime.
Following the launch, players are now returning to the title.
Devil May Cry 5 has seen over 13K concurrent players for the first time in nearly five years.
Earlier this week, Netflix released an anime based on Capcom’s Devil May Cry. The anime has met with a great reception and is already at number 3 on the charts.
Following the massive launch of an anime, it appears that old fans of the franchise, along with new players, are playing Devil May Cry 5. For the first time in nearly five years, the game has reached over 13K concurrent players.
Why it matters: Recently, many titles, such as Cyberpunk 2077 and The Last of Us, have seen similar resurgences following the release of anime and TV shows based on them.
Devil May Cry 5 Sees Massive Resurgence On Steam – Source: Steamdb
As seen in the above screenshot, around 12K players are currently enjoying Devil May Cry 5, and the title has had over 13.5K players in the last 24 hours.
It should also be noted that the title only peaked around 2K before the anime was released. Therefore, the concurrent player count of the title has increased by 6x. This is a massive achievement for everyone who’s worked on the franchise.
Since the anime is only a week old, the title will likely see more players join soon. Another reason for the massive increase in the number of players is a significant sale on the title.
On Steam, Devil May Cry 5 is currently the 10th best-selling title, beating massive games like Dead by Daylight and the recently released Assassin’s Creed Shadows to secure the position.
It should also be noted that this list excludes free-to-play titles like Counter-Strike 2. It’s great to see a six-year-old title doing well, suggesting that players are already anticipating another entry in the franchise.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has introduced $80 games with Mario Kart World.
Nintendo states that the new pricing emphasizes the quality and value of a game.
The gaming giant will approach future pricing with the same mindset, confirming the same price for its biggest IPs.
Opinions regarding the recently revealed Nintendo Switch 2 have been mostly positive. However, gamers were left shocked when it was confirmed that Mario Kart World would cost as much as $90.
Even PS5 gamers, who recently accepted the $70 standard, were against this new trend. In response, Nintendo claims that games like Mario Kart World will justify the new pricing standard.
Why it matters: The jump from $60 to $70 AAA titles has been a hard pill to swallow for many, especially considering the prevalence of microtransactions in modern titles.
Speaking to IGN, Nintendo of America’s Bill Trinen discussed the company’s new pricing strategy. He pointed to a focus on value, with the amount of content being the major determining factor.
Pointing to Mario Kart World, Bill Trinen stated that the game is vast and offers a lot for players to do and discover. From his perspective, the content clearly justifies Nintendo’s asking price, and the same strategy will be applied to future games.
It’s less about the strategy of pricing Mario Kart World, we just look at what is the experience, what’s the content, and what’s the value?
Bill Trinen offered a similar response to the actual hardware’s pricing. He also quickly acknowledged the rising costs of gaming over time, stating that value remains the primary determining factor.
Obviously the cost of everything goes up over time.
Mario Kart World is the first title to debut an $80 MSRP
Although this statement does not directly point to the future of Nintendo’s AAA releases, it essentially confirms that high-profile titles like Mario Kart World will sport the same $80 price. Whether this will be a successful strategy for Nintendo, however, remains to be seen.
