A New Nier Game Finally?

Story Highlight
  • The last Nier title was released in 2017, and fans have been asking for a new one ever since.
  • Recently, Nier Automata reached a new sales milestone, and the game’s producer took the opportunity to tease a new title.
  • Yousuke Saito has teased an announcement of a new game in the series during the series’ 15th anniversary next year.

Nier is arguably one of the fan-favourite franchises not only because of 2B but also because of its story and gameplay. Nier: Automata and Replicant are the most loved titles from the series, with the former one being more popular.

It has been nearly 8 years since we have had a new Nier game despite the franchise’s popularity, which seems like a crime. However, that might be changing as the producer has shared some interesting news.

The producer of Nier Automata and Nier Replicant, Yousuke Saito, has just recently teased a new Nier game that will be announced in 2025.

Why it matters: 2B is one of the most adored characters and we have seen her presence in tons of games. Thanks to this character, the Nier franchise has received a lot of attention, which may guarantee massive success for a future title now.

In the 4Gamer’s annual end-of-year project, Yousuke Saito teased an announcement regarding a new game next year. 2025 will be the 15th anniversary of the franchise, so it will be a memorable moment, which is a perfect opportunity to treat fans with a new game announcement.

2025 will be a milestone year as it marks the 15th anniversary of the NieR series, so I’d like to do something for it! What should we do… maybe something with the next game, or developments related to that… I’ve been hearing the fans’ expectations.

It is almost confirmed that the developer has something special ready for the fans, and it is most likely to be the game, as Saito has said so too. A new Nier game being announced in 2025 has just made the year way more exciting.
