Shawn Layden has said that modern games are too long and lack a sense of completion.
The ex-PlayStation boss thinks many people don’t have the time to complete such games.
The developer also praised Astro Bot for breaking this trend.
As gaming has progressed and improved across several generations, one thing that has seen an exponential increase is the length of titles. Video games at the start of this decade weren’t more than a couple of hours on average, with some reaching the dozen-hour range.
Now, however, it is hard to find a single title that is less than 20 hours long, with titles like Tides of Annihilation and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows both pulling in completion times of 30+ hours. And, if you ask ex-PlayStation boss Shawn Layden, this is one of the worst things about modern gaming.
Why it matters: Making shorter titles richer in content could solve a lot of problems for the gaming industry, like ballooning budgets.
Many players left Assassin’s Creed: Shadows before the second act, around 15 hours in.
While speaking to Player Driven in a new interview, Shawn Layden criticised the length of modern video games, saying the industry is getting carried away with 100-hour projects, which players frankly don’t have the time for as they grow older.
The ex-PlayStation boss further stated that he would rather spend 20 continuous hours and finish a game rather than go through a 100-hour slog. Layden also showered Astro Bot with praise, saying the platformer set a standard for the industry by making its levels short and rich in content instead of longer and barren.
I don’t need you to spend 100 hours on my game. I want you to put down the controller after 20 hours and have sweaty hands.
In addition, as per the developer, modern games lack the feel of completion that older games had. Nowadays, you don’t want to complete the title as you get tired of playing through 100 hours of content. Hence, that feeling of satisfaction is missing, per Shawn Layden, and can only be brought back by making titles shorter.
Shawn Layden showered Astro Bot with praise for its runtime.
The former PlayStation alum does have a point when you consider how many players left Assassin’s Creed: Shadows in the second act, around 15 hours in, not bothering to finish a significant chunk of the 40-hour main story.
At T4G, my task is to cover the latest news around the gaming globe ASAP and with the utmost precision. I adore all the games and respect all the devs behind the amazing games that we get all year. So, whether it’s a PC or a Console game, I got it all covered.

Former PlayStation boss says FromSoftware could find PvP development challenging.
The reason is that the studio head Miyazaki isn’t a big fan of the genre.
The studio currently has two multiplayer games in development: Duskbloods and Elden Ring Nightrein.
FromSoftware is unarguably one of the best studios in the gaming industry. The Japanese gaming giants have offered huge hits one after the other, starting from Dark Souls to Bloodborne to Elden Ring, and more.
Now, the studio is pushing towards new multiplayer titles with its latest Nintendo Switch 2 title, The Duskbloods, and Elden Ring: Nightreign. However, a former Sony boss thinks adapting to PvP could be a bit challenging for the studio.
Why it matters? This is the first time FromSoftware is jumping into this genre, and while their ability is nothing of any doubt, fans and some critics are still skeptical about how their upcoming release will turn out.
Talking to the Easy Allies podcast, former PlayStation executive, Shuhei Yoshida, talked about how the move towards multiplayer games could trouble FromSoftware a bit. One of the major reasons is, Miyazaki himself isn’t a big fan of PvP.
I think it’s a new challenge for (FromSoftware), to design game for multiplayer, Miyazaki-san isn’t necessarily a big fan of PvP games
– Shuhei Yoshida
FromSoftware is currently working on The Duskbloods, a PvP title for the Switch 2
While the overall development could be challenging as this is a new venture, most people wouldn’t be surprised if the game turns out to be amazing, based on the talent FromSoftware has. Also, the genre has a huge fan base.
Nonetheless, this also doesn’t mean that the studio is moving away from single-player titles. Miyazaki confirmed that despite developing multiplayer titles, the studio is still focused on working on great single-player titles in the future.

Assassin’s Creed Origins and Odyssey have collectively surpassed 80 million players.
The playercount doesn’t equal sales since these figures include players from subscription services like Ubisoft+ or Game Pass.
The franchise continues to sell well with the latest Assassin’s Creed Shadows outpacing both Origins and Odyssey.
The Assassin’s Creed franchise entered a new era with the release of Origins, which shifted the series into RPG territory. This change brought in a whole new player base, marking a significant success for Ubisoft.
Now, Ubisoft has announced a major milestone: Assassin’s Creed Origins and Odyssey have each reached 40 million players individually.
Why it matters: For games that were released less than a decade ago, such high player numbers are impressive and highlight why Assassin’s Creed remains one of the biggest franchises in gaming.
Assassin’s Creed Twitter Account Announcing A Huge Achievement For Origins And Odyssey
It’s noteworthy that “players” doesn’t directly translate to copies sold. The actual sales numbers are likely lower. These figures include users who have played the games via Ubisoft+ or Game Pass.
Still, this is a massive win for Ubisoft. Both Origins and Odyssey are widely considered the best RPG entries in the franchise to date.
Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already made waves, hitting 2 million players within just two days of release, outpacing both Origins and Odyssey at launch. It’s likely that Shadows will continue this momentum and eventually surpass its predecessors.
That said, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is still the best-selling RPG from the franchise, becoming the first Ubisoft title to generate over $1 billion in revenue.
Despite the common belief that the series is losing steam, the numbers say otherwise. The franchise continues to perform impressively, outshining many modern releases.
The series has now entered a new phase of leadership, with Ubisoft forming a new subsidiary alongside Tencent. As such, it will take its next step in evolution with a newer direction.

The New Police system will feature a dispatch timer, which you can use to strategise your plan before the cops arrive.
You also get immediate wanted levels unless you’re identified, and the cops shoot only when necessary.
Even your vehicle could be registered, and cops could identify you if you’re the vehicle’s owner.
GTA 6 has become the talk of the town lately, and ever since its gameplay was leaked, it has been even more open for discussion. While many were looking at the mechanics and the graphics from the leaked footage, something was overlooked.
GTA 6 (Image Credits – Rockstar Games)
Police System
I’m talking about the enhanced police system, which appears to be different from every GTA game and will change everything for the players. The cops’ behavior suggests a massive leap in realism, creativity, and strategy.
Firstly, if we pay attention to the leaked footage of Julia performing a robbery at Hank Waffle’s Bar, we could see something different right from the get-go. We see a large bar on the screen, which is shrinking.
Time Until Cops Dispatched Reimagined (Image Credits – YT/CyberBoi)
This bar is the time until cops are dispatched, and as it shrinks the most, it says: “Cops are arriving.” Unlike previous GTA games, now you’ll have time to plan your escape and strategise before the cops show up.
Witness System
Another thing which was found in the previous GTA titles, even GTA 5, where you could commit a crime and get wanted levels immediately. Even if you enter the restricted base, you get wanted levels as soon as you step into it.
This takes away the fun because even if you enter without anyone seeing you, you still get the wanted stars. This doesn’t seem to be the case for GTA 6, which could have a witness system implemented.
Much like Watch Dogs, where people witness you as a criminal and then call the police on you, GTA 6 might take a similar approach. This is where, again, you could be greeted by the time-shrinking bar to strategise.
Interaction With Other NPCS
We already know that GTA 6’s AI will be incredibly immersive on its own, and most of it is because you can interact with the NPCs, which means that every outcome will be different.
From the leaked footage, we can see that you aim at the NPCs and have options to push the cashiers to give the money faster or even rob the people sitting at the dinner table.
Interaction Concept via GTA 5 Mod (Image Credits – YT/Lunar Scripts)
This is one feature GTA 6 is to take from RDR2, which would make every interaction a unique experience. Paired with the witness system, you can kill the witnesses or intimidate them into not snitching to avoid getting wanted levels.
Interaction With The Cops
From the leaked footage, when the bar reached zero, we could hear the cops arriving, and even though they see us from the glass, they don’t immediately start shooting. Instead, they’re shouting and ordering us to come out and surrender.
At one point on the screen, you see an option as ‘R1’ followed by ‘Police.’ This could mean that after the cops arrive, we might be able to either surrender or even talk ourselves out of the situation, just like we could in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Smart Wanted Levels
Now, the most noteworthy thing is that there are still no wanted levels even after the police arrive because the cops haven’t identified Julia as the suspect. Only when Julia starts shooting the hostages does the wanted level increase.
Smart Wanted System Reimagined (Image Credits – YT/MrBossFTW)
This has been designed to depict police interactions that happen in real life. It also means that you can sneak and blend in with the hostages, and the cops probably won’t recognise you.
Cops Only Shoot When Necessary
Another feature to be highlighted is that the cops never shoot us. They only open fire at us when we steal the cop car and drive away. Even then, they only shoot two bullets. To compare, in GTA 5, bullets fly everywhere once you’re wanted.
Vehicle Identification System
We see a “Full vehicle description” under the wanted stars as Julia drives away. Everyone in the game could have a registered vehicle, and police can identify the vehicles by their owner. This means we can switch cars to escape the wanted levels.
Vehicle Identification System (Image Credits – YT/CyberBoi)
This also means that the police could make routine traffic stops or suspect you of something. Paired with the realistic traffic in GTA 6, this will make the driving aspect all the more fun.
Verdict
The police system alone shows how immersive GTA 6 will be, making us think about what more this entire game will contain. While the second trailer’s release isn’t confirmed, we can expect it to release just before the game’s launch.

Silent Hill delves into taboo and dark topics like guilt, trauma, and repressed memories, and the trailer depicts it through symbolism.
The trailer also showcases deep meanings, such as how the doll monster could represent our character’s desire to please the world.
People have translated the Japanese text from the trailer, and they all complement the dark nature of the game.
Silent Hill f hasn’t been released, but its trailer has garnered massive attention from the gaming community. It is being highly praised, but judging from the trailer, it probably won’t be your average Silent Hill game.
Silent Hill f (Image Credit – Steam)
How Is The Game Going To Be Different?
Unlike other games’ trailers, Silent Hill f’s trailer followed the format of well-made movie trailers, which throw in a few elements and leave the rest up to imagination. Almost every part of this 3-minute 40-second clip has underlying meanings.
Gender Discremination & Child Abuse
The game outright alerts players that there is gender discrimination and child abuse in this game. Konami made this bold move, especially considering our era, where it’s so easy for games to get cancelled for using these aspects in games.

Dark Undertone
You play as a teenage girl who is under the pressure of expectations from the people around her. This already sets the tone of the game, which is dark. With these settings, it is no wonder Australia banned it before its release.
Choice-Based Silent Hill
You will have to make beautiful yet terrifying choices. You can embrace beauty and elegance or lead your character into madness and horror. While the trailer doesn’t reveal these choices, they sure sound intriguing.
No Firearms
The ESRB rating shows that the Silent Hill f will skip firearms. Melee combat will be the game’s main focus, and we can also see this from multiple instances in the trailer.
Protagonist Holding A Melee Weapon (Image Credit – Konami)
Symbolism In The Trailer
This is where this trailer shines the most. Unlike other trailers, which showcase some elements and hide others and are largely self-explanatory, Silent Hill uses symbolism throughout its trailer.
Doll & Its Connection To Us
In one instance, we see a doll approaching our character. As this doll approaches us, it seems to be self-mutating and contorting. While the doll may seem like one of the monsters that will be our enemies, it could portray us.
Doll Approaching (Image Credit – Konami)
You see, our character is also crushed by societal expectations, hence wanting to be like a doll who is always smiling, always kind, and always positive. Furthermore, our character is named Hinoko, and this name is written in two parts in Japanese.
The first part is pronounced as Hina, which is associated with a Japanese Doll, a Hina-ningyo. According to Japanese beliefs, this doll prays for a girl’s happiness.
Unaligned With Her Personality
Our character also seems unaligned with her own personality, acting like a doll at most times in public by presenting an image of being agreeable and upbeat. Lines in the trailer also highlight this.
Lines From The Trailer (Image Credit – Konami)
In one instance, our character says, “It is weird too, not to have a grasp of yourself, to not understand your own feelings.” These lines depict how our character is almost confused about herself.
Japanese Translations
In one shot, we see our drawings of our character posted on a wall with blood all around it, and a letter that seems to be Shin Ne is written around these drawings. Now, these characters mean Die in Japanese.
“Shin Ne” (Die!) (Image Credit – YT/Max Derrat)
Maybe our character has wronged people in her past or angered someone who holds a massive grudge against her. There’s a shot where our character chats with her schoolmates; one of her peers could be the person she wronged.
Is The Protagonist Dead?
Some scenes showcase a lot of fog, and our character seems to be stuck in ‘another world.’ Some suggest that our protagonist might be dead, while others say it’s just a space in between.
Flowers Aren’t Just For Beauty
The trailer is filled with instances where you see flowers either covering our character or just placed on the ground around us. One of the most prominent flowers in the bunch is the spider lilly.
Spider Lilly Flower (Image Credit – Konami)
In Japanese, Spider Lilly is translated to higanbana, the Flower of heaven or the afterlife. It also carries great cultural sentiment because the Japanese believe that its red petals guide the dead to reincarnation.
Verdict
This is just a scratch on the surface, and people have done even more in-depth analyses of the trailer. All in all, there’s a high chance this might be the creepiest Silent Hill game of all time.

Story Highlights
Players have criticised this demo, stating it is ‘too bright’, the game losing its original appeal, and having performance issues.
Many fail to realize that Valve might use this demo as a testing ground for their future projects, perhaps Half Life 3.
It’s only a matter of time before modders will tweak the visuals to give players what they need.
The Half-Life 2 RTX Demo has been released, and it is refreshing to see Valve actively working on games again after they stopped making them as they had shifted their focus from making games to gaming hardware.
Even though it isn’t a new game, per se, it is a complete visual overhaul of one of the most iconic FPS games ever made. While this remix was supposed to be loved by the majority of the players, it wasn’t as well received.
Why Is It Getting Criticism?
It has garnered mixed reviews on Steam from the moment it was released. While some people love it, some hate it, mainly because of performance issues and because it messes up the original look.
Too Bright For People
While the game looks visually appealing, many players complain it is too bright. While ray tracing is supposed to enhance the lighting, the dark and gloomy atmosphere seems lost for most people.
Too Bright For Some Users (Image Credit – YT/Nick930)
Performance Issues
Most of the steam reviews soared mainly because of the performance issues faced by players. Some users state that the game kept crashing everytime a new area was loaded while others had their game constantly freezing.
While it is true that you should only try this demo out if your PC can handle it. And sadly, it is currently only better with the RTX cards. This means that AMD users who don’t have the highest cards, can’t play it with 60 FPS.
Effects Hinder Sight
What was once a game they loved has become something they can’t enjoy. Despite the brightness, many players have struggled to see through the realistic smoke as the particle effect is too much for them to see through.
Smoke Hinders Sight (Image Credit – YT/Nick930)
Why I Still Like This Demo
Despite the criticism and the mixed reviews on this RTX demo, I still seem to like it. Many people aren’t seeing the big picture and their bad comments take away what this demo was intended for. Let me explain.
A Test Of Next-Gen Graphics & Hardware
While most people might argue that ray tracing isn’t necessary for modern games, including Half Life 2, they fail to realize that Valve is actually using this demo as a test subject for their future projects.
Test For Upcoming Games (Image Credit – YT/Nick930)
What seemed to be ‘too bright’ and what ‘took away the original feel’ was to push the hardware limits to test how much they can enhance the visual aspect of their future projects, given the modern technology we have now.
Half-Life 3 On The Horizon?
One of their future projects could very well be Half Life 3, which is reportedly in the final stages of production and could be released later in 2025. The criticism about performance in this demo can be taken as feedback for Half Life 3.
Half Life 3 (Image Credit – Technetbook)
This is actually genius if you think it this way. To put into perspective, if Half Life 3 was launched with performance issues, it would have been a disaster for Valve. But with this tiny demo, they can take up much feedback and improve on it.
VR Possibilities
If not Half Life 3, another Half Life VR game could be up incoming. While Valve’s previous VR title, Half Life Alyx set a new standard for VR gaming, they might be using this demo as a test subject for other VR titles.
Nostalgia
For people who appreciate the original masterpiece, they should try this out, keeping in mind that this is a demo, which is supposed to be short. Yes, it might not have the same atmosphere, but the visual overhaul should be appreciated.
The Demo Looks Epic
It is worth mentioning that despite the bad reviews regarding the effects and lighting, the game actually looks great. I felt that Valve perfectly balanced nostalgia with modern visual appeal.
I hated the way the original game looked, with its old-school visuals, which made me not play it. However, this remix makes it playable, especially for gamers who prioritize modern graphics over older ones.
Mods Will Fix The Rest
If this demo is too troublesome for players, it is only a matter of time before modders fix most of the issues. A YouTuber, 2kliksphilip, even took matters into his own hands by fixing the most common issues this demo has.
He removes the fog entirely, making the objects much more visible. He also eliminates the bounce light, which makes it less bright and more true to the original. He turns the night’s sky to pitch black, adding to the world’s eerie nature.

Housemarque has confirmed that Saros gameplay will be shared later this year.
The game is scheduled to release in 2026 and builds upon the success of Returnal.
The team will likely debut this footage at Summer Game Fest or an upcoming State of Play.
Following much anticipation and speculation, the team behind Returnal finally announced a new game earlier this year. Saros is said to build upon Returnal’s foundations while offering a few unique twists to keep players on edge.
The game has also been in development for about three years, and a gameplay reveal is coming soon.
Why it matters: The studio experienced a surge in popularity after Returnal, and many have high hopes that Saros will bring another wave of attention to the team.
Housemarque Has Fans Excited After The Recent Announcement | Image via X
The studio recently took to X and broke the exciting news. As per Housemarque, extended gameplay of the title is coming later this year, likely at one of the many upcoming gaming events.
With Summer Game Fest set to go live in just two months, Saros could be one of the many games featured at the event with several minutes of gameplay. Alternatively, PlayStation could debut the gameplay footage at a State of Play, much like the reveal trailer itself.
Nonetheless, replies to this post indicate that fans are certainly excited to see what Housemarque has in store this time. Returnal is still considered one of PS5’s best exclusives, so it’s easy to see why fan expectations are at an all-time high.
Returnal Was A Gamechanger For The Studio
It is important to note that Saros is not due for release till 2026. Therefore, fans will have to wait a while after the gameplay footage goes live, so Housemarque will likely do its best to impress the fans with the game’s upcoming showing.

The RTX 5060 Ti is around 5-10% slower than the RTX 4070 at stock speeds.
A small overclock can push it beyond the RTX 4070’s rasterization performance.
This makes the RTX 5060 Ti somewhat disappointing compared to fan favorite predecessors like the RTX 3060 Ti.
The RTX 5060 lineup is now out in the wild, and reviews indicate that the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is the best of the bunch. Sporting plenty of VRAM and decent performance for up to 1440p gaming, this GPU gets a lot right.
However, it fails to measure up to the last-gen RTX 4070, at least when looking at stock results. According to recent reviews, the RTX 5060 Ti can only beat the RTX 4070 after a modest overclock.
Why it matters: In the past, Nvidia offered GPUs that offered performance better than those in the next tier of the last-generation lineup. For instance, the RTX 3060 Ti was much more capable than the RTX 2070.
The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB Is Priced At $429
Reviews via outlets like Digital Foundry indicate a nearly 15% performance uplift for the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB compared to its predecessor. This results in approximately 5-10% worse performance compared to the RTX 4070.
However, the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB can be pushed beyond 3GHz for interesting results. This overclock enables the card to perform slightly faster than the RTX 4070 in games like Black Myth: Wukong, bringing it close to the RTX 5070’s performance level, which was barely better than that of the RTX 4070.
Forza Horizon 5 exhibits a similar trend, but ray tracing performance remains superior on the last-generation RTX 4070. Anyhow, a 350Mhz core OC goes a long way to unlocking the RTX 5060 Ti’s full potential.
Although the performance itself is far from terrible, the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB ultimately proves to be slower than both the RTX 3080 and RTX 4070 without overclocking. Therefore, RTX 3080 levels of performance are still not readily available to those willing to spend less than $550 on a shiny new GPU, five years after the RTX 3080 made its initial debut.
There is also the question of availability and pricing. Going by Nvidia’s recent releases, the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is unlikely to be readily available at MSRP just yet, so it wil be interesting to see how gamers and PC enthusiasts respond to the latest in a long line of xx60-tier graphics cards.

Xbox head Phil Spencer has revealed that the company has more unannounced games planned for later this year.
He refused to leak any of them to surprise the community, but we might hear about them soon.
Xbox might reveal some or all of these games during the Summer Showcase event, which is set for June.
After lacking first-party releases for the last few years, things are finally looking bright for Xbox with a slew of entries already confirmed to launch in the coming months. However, Xbox boss Phil Spencer claims that even more unknown titles are planned for 2025.
This tidbit comes after Xbox Game Studios boss Craig Duncan also affirmed that Xbox has multiple unannounced games in development earlier this year.
Why it matters: 2025 for Xbox is already loaded with many intriguing launches spanning various franchises, so these remarks are a big surprise for gamers.
In an interview with Variety, Phil was asked what to expect from Xbox for the rest of 2025. He said that some titles are still unannounced besides the known ‘slate of games.’ Although the CEO is not ready to leak them yet, to keep the element of surprise.
For us and the rest of this calendar year, I really feel great about the slate of games. […] There’s more stuff, some stuff that’s unannounced, and I’m walking in my head to make sure I don’t leak anything.
Many in the community expected Xbox to have no more unannounced titles in the pipeline for the rest of 2025, especially because major games like the new Doom, The Outer Worlds 2, and potentially Gears of War: E-Daywill launch soon.
We just had ‘Avowed’ come out, and I have to go backwards and just say Obsidian continues to do a great job. We’ve obviously talked about ‘The Outer Worlds 2,’ ‘South of Midnight,’ ‘Doom.’
As per rumors, these unannounced games are expected to include a new Forza Horizon, a Ghostwire Tokyo sequel, a Fallout 3 remake, and the like.
Will Xbox release any of these unannounced games later this year, or will they only see reveals in the last few months? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

The headset sits perfectly inside the packaging. Other than the headset, all the important accessories, like the wireless dongle, charging cable, and user manual, are neatly placed in a single section, which is very convenient.

The Corsair Void Wireless V2 continues to follow Corsair’s aesthetics while incorporating unique and fresh changes. I like what they’ve done with the design to make it look classic, which looks good.
The earcups now feature a subtle matte finish that is more understated. This adds a layer of durability to the headset, unlike the glossy look. The materials used in this feel surprisingly lightweight and retain that familiar Corsair quality.

Regarding comfort, the memory foam wrapped in breathable microfiber fabric ear cushions not only looks great but feels even more comfortable during long sessions. They feel gentle and supportive without squeezing too tight after several hours of gaming. They’re cushioned just right to minimize pressure points without the nagging discomfort around your ears.
After spending several weeks with it, I noticed that the weight distribution is spot on. The headband distribution is also better, so you don’t get that annoying pressure on the top of your head. It sits comfortably without feeling heavy while still feeling securely placed. Although I did have a moment when I thought the headband would be a little too tight for bigger heads, a slight adjustment removed any annoying pressure points.

The overall feel of the headset is durable while maintaining a reasonable weight. It sure appears like it can take the rigorous wear and tear of daily gaming, but thankfully, it doesn’t feel like a massive piece of headset that is bulky or clunky.
The primary materials are of high quality. Plus, the reinforced hinges, combined with the sturdiness of the chassis, feel solid and should survive normal to even rough usage.
Control Scheme
Controls
Volume Slider
The Corsair Void Wireless V2 gets the layout of the controls exactly right. Several buttons are placed on the left earcup, including a dedicated power button that also functions as a wireless mode switch. You can use it to switch between 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth modes. Right below this, there is also a slider to adjust the volume. By default, pressing the volume wheel cycles through four audio EQ presets.
Moreover, within iCUE, you can change it to perform such actions as remapping the button to mute/unmute the headset. Overall, the volume slider is smooth enough to adjust and gives a satisfying tactile click every time. Given the difference in feel and tactile feedback, a good aspect here is that you’re unlikely to mispress the buttons, which is something I’ve noticed in other headsets.
Connectivity
USB Port (Image by Tech4Gamers)
The Corsair Void Wireless V2 has flawless connectivity. It even has Bluetooth for additional flexibility alongside a super-fast 2.4GHz wireless connection, which has low latency, making it even better. I walked around my house with it, and there were no annoying latency issues or dropouts. Furthermore, it has dual wireless compatibility.
You can seamlessly switch between PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and even mobile without cables or needing to reconnect. This means one can connect their PC using a dongle while having a Bluetooth device paired and toggle effortlessly between both streams with a single power button press.
Audio Performance
The overall audio quality is great, especially if you configure it according to your liking through iCUE (which I did). The headsets have custom-built 50mm drivers, so there is a balanced frequency response. The bass is deep and punchy, while the mid-range vocals are superb but not too strong. The crisp treble enhances every sound detail. Footsteps, gunshots, and other environmental cues are so accurate that they can be distinguished from every sound.
This attention to detail makes you want to appreciate the understated sounds even more, and honestly, it’s great. I spent many hours on FPS games such as Valorant and CS2, and the surround sound greatly amazed me. Similarly, for watching movies and listening to music, the headsets weren’t overly boosting any frequency, which is good.
Microphone Quality
Microphone (Image by Tech4Gamers)
The Corsair Void Wireless V2 features an omnidirectional microphone paired with NVIDIA Broadcast technology, which does a fantastic job isolating my voice from background noise. I could say it’s like having a built-in noise gate. I was genuinely surprised because even during the chaotic shouting and shooting while playing games, my voice was clean and crisp. We get the flip-to-mute feature as well, which is rather common now, but in any case, raising the microphone boom will mute it, and lowering it will unmute it.
For best performance, bend the flexible microphone boom to fit near the left corner of your mouth. A 30-degree bend is a good place to start, but you can adjust this if your mic is too loud or soft. The one initial slight problem I encountered once when I was in the middle of a conversation was that the mic picked up too much ambient noise, but once I adjusted the gain, it was all good, as it only required a bit of adjusting.
Battery Life
Corsair claims the headset’s battery will last up to 70 hours on a single charge. For me, that claim proves to be somewhat accurate. I was able to do multiple gaming sessions for several weeks without the need to charge my headset. To top it all off, a quick 15-minute charge can give you around six more hours of playtime, which is extremely helpful if your headphone dies in the middle of your competitive game. Charging the device through USB-C is also pretty straightforward.
The headset also has a battery status LED indicator that helps you keep track of the battery percentage. It displays red, orange, and green colors, indicating that the battery is low, medium, and high.

I highly recommend using iCUE for the best experience. Also, you should check firmware updates through Device Settings to make sure the headset is updated. Through iCUE, you can customize almost all the settings to your preference. Whether you want deep bass or crystal clear mid-tones, you have full control over them through an equalizer with perfectly tailored audio profiles. You can remap the multifunction button (through Key Assignments).
Of course, you can also adjust the headset’s lighting, which includes rainbow, static, and many more effects. It also syncs with your other Corsair products.
Should You Buy It or Not?
Buy it if
✅ You prioritize multi-platform connectivity and flexibility: The Corsair Void Wireless V2 offers dual wireless support, letting you switch between a 2.4 GHz dongle and Bluetooth, all with a simple button.
✅ You need lengthy battery life: It provides up to 70 hours on a single charge and a quick 15-minute charge provides an extra 6 hours of playtime.
✅ You demand outstanding audio performance: The custom-tuned 50mm drivers and Dolby Atmos spatial audio deliver a richly detailed, 3D sound experience.
Don’t buy it if
❌ You have a very large head size: Although generally comfortable, the headband may require adjustment and could be uncomfortable if you have a larger head.
❌ Portability is your top priority: The sleek, non-foldable design is designed for its usage at home, so if you need a headset that’s easy to pack and travel with, you might want to consider more compact options.
Final Verdict
After spending a few weeks gaming and using it casually, I can say that the Corsair Void Wireless V2 is an upgrade worth considering in Corsair’s lineup. It enhances its predecessors with better multi-platform compatibility, improved battery life, and better audio with Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio. I like its superb sound quality combined with a comfortable feel.
On the pricing side, the Corsair Void Wireless V2 is priced at a reasonable $119.99, which is competitive for a headset packed with high-end features. In my opinion, custom-tuned 50mm dynamic drivers, dual wireless compatibility, and other capabilities easily make that price a steal compared to more expensive options in the market.
It is a feature-rich headset offered at an incredible price. Of course, there are some downsides, such as larger heads needing some adjustment, but that is a minimal issue when looking at the upsides. From my perspective, the Corsair Void Wireless V2 seems to sit pretty well for those looking for that balance between premium features and value.

Rebellion CEO has confirmed that an Atomfall sequel is already planned after the game has surpassed everyone’s expectations.
The tidbit was confirmed in a new interview, but the fate of the sequel depends on whether Rebellion can secure resources for it.
Atomfall has been a staggering success and outperformed the studio’s projections to show strong demand for the new IP.
The Fallout-inspired Atomfall has stood out as one of the most successful new IP launches this year. Despite being a smaller title than many others, the survival-action RPG stacked two million players in just two weeks. So, Rebellion is now already thinking about its future.
Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley has confirmed that the studio is already considering a sequel for the English sci-fi entry if it can secure resources in the future.
Why it matters: Atomfall has proven to be a staggering success for Rebellion despite launching only a couple of weeks ago, showing that demand for new and smaller IPs is stronger in the gaming scene than many developers realize.
In an interview with GamesIndustry, Jason clarified that Atomfall was possible because of Rebellion’s size and stability. The studio has been around for decades and boasts a tight-knit team of developers that made it possible for it to take the risk.
Now, Rebellion wants to repeat this success with an Atomfall sequel, alongside more games in its other franchises in the future.
Now it looks like we want to do more Atomfall – it’s been successful, can we find the resources to do it? I don’t know.
– Jason Kingsley, Rebellion CEO.
The CEO also acknowledges comparisons with Fallout ever since the game was revealed. While Atomfall was never meant to be an English Fallout, the post-apocalyptic franchise was still used as a reference point because of genre similarity.
as soon as people started to play it, they realised, ‘no, it’s trying to do its own thing’.
Do you think Atomfall’s success means that Rebellion will create a new sequel for the game, or will the studio move on to other franchises? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.
