PlayStation Fans Furious As First-Ever Limited Edition PS5 Pro Covers Sell Out In Minutes

Story Highlight
  • PS5 Pro limited edition console covers sold out in just a minute, and fans are furious.
  • Scalpers are now reselling the Ghost of Yoeti covers for 5x the price.
  • Players want more stock or a solution to the scalper issue, so the consumers can buy what they want.

This generation has been marred by availability issues with every major release selling out in minutes around the globe and then retailing for 10x the original price on eBay. Even though the stock has improved over the years, new releases still encounter this issue, with the Nvidia RTX 50 series also experiencing this at the start of this year.

The latest victim of this trend is the limited edition PlayStation 5 Pro covers that have sold out instantly, and fans are not happy.

Why This Matters: Scammers are not only impacting fans but also the relationship major companies have with their consumers, and are a massive problem.

PS5 Pro ghost of yotei
PS5 Pro players are unhappy with Sony because of the limited availability of the plates.

PS5 Pro limited edition Ghost of Yotei covers sold out in just a minute and are now up on eBay for five times the original retail price. The official website was retailing these special covers for $64.99 or £54.99 for both the slim and Pro versions of PlayStation 5.

However, the accessories were gone within a minute and are now being sold on eBay for up to $230, with one listing even going as high as $499.99, which was the starting price of a PS5 console. Hence, scalpers are still hitting Sony hard even half a decade later.

Fans took to Reddit and expressed their dismay at this with a post begging Sony to increase its stock of PS5 Pro plates, as there is high demand. One commenter said they don’t even try anymore, as you can’t purchase anything from the Sony website without bots or divine intervention.

PlayStation fans are not happy with the current situation.

Other replies and fans also voiced similar issues with scalping culture and the lack of protection the PS5 stock has from these vultures, despite its limited nature. Fans are done with items selling out minutes after release and want Sony to implement a change, one way or another.

Amazon Is Turning Life Is Strange Into a TV Show, Adapting the Iconic Game for the Screen

Story Highlight
  • Amazon has greenlit a Life is Strange TV show, based on the popular gaming franchise.
  • The show will be headed by Charlie Covell, End of the F***ing World and KAOS director.
  • It will be available on Prime Video, but no cast or release window has been revealed yet.

The original Life of Strange was first released in 2015 to a great reception from the fans. It was praised for a great story, relatable characters, and brilliantly tackling many different themes. Now, Amazon is expanding the franchise to TV.

Amazon MGM has ordered a Life of Strange TV show that will be based on the games. The show will follow Max, a photography student who can rewind time. She navigates while understanding her powers as the story unfolds.

Why it matters: Life is Strange already seemed like a movie due to its interactive nature. However, seeing it as a TV Show can allow directors to be more creative and explore the characters much better.

Amazon has ordered Life is Strange to be adapted as a TV Show

Life is Strange TV show will, of course, be available on Prime Video. It will be directed by Charlie Covell, previously known for projects like End of the F***ing World and KAOS. It comes from Square Enix, Story Kitchen, and LuckyChap.

The latter of these companies was also involved with the Barbie movie, which was both a commercial and critical success, so we can expect high-quality content. However, the franchise isn’t having its best time these days.

Life is Strange Double Exposure
The show will bring the popular story to the TV screens

The latest title, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, received quite negative reviews, with many citing problems like weak storylines and shallow characters, that previously used to be the main strengths of the earlier games.

Nonetheless, if the show is a commercial success, the directors will have the chance to improve the storylines as well based on the audience’s reactions. For now, Amazon hasn’t revealed a cast or any release window.

They Said It Would Fail, 10 Years Later, Hollow Knight Stands As One of The Greatest Indie Games

Story Highlight
  • The first trailer for Hollow Knight was released a decade ago and faced significant criticism.
  • Many dismissed it as just another 2D platformer unlikely to succeed.
  • A decade later, it has grown into one of the most successful indie games of all time.

Hollow Knight didn’t have much hype when it first launched. Not many people were aware of it, even years after its release. However, the excitement began to grow steadily, largely thanks to its sequel, Silksong. Team Cherry took its time developing the game, and the results speak for themselves.

Silksong was recently released and shattered expectations. The game literally crashed storefronts like Steam and caused major issues across other platforms.

What’s surprising is that a decade ago, many believed Hollow Knight would ultimately fail, yet it has now evolved into a franchise that can’t be ignored.

Why it matters: Criticism and scepticism are common in the gaming industry, but Hollow Knight shows how word of mouth, community passion, and consistent developer quality can transform a once-overlooked title into a global phenomenon.

Last year my best friend quit his full time job to chase his dream and make a fully fledged video game. Today he just released a trailer and it looks beyond amazing.

A Reddit user, Crazy_loop, shared that a decade ago, his friend quit his job to chase his dream of making a video game. The response may not be what you expect.

While some praised the dedication and highlighted the game’s design and sound, many were quick to criticise. The feedback was mixed, encouraging in parts, but also disheartening, especially given the effort behind the project.

The market is currently saturated with side-scrolling platformers so I feel his game may not do as good as he hopes.

yet another side scroller puzzle platformer combat game with rpg elements that I’ve seen numerous times now.

Hollow Knight: Silksong was recently released to over 500,000 players, and that number is expected to climb even higher over the weekend. It’s a remarkable turnout for a game that, for years, many believed might never see the light of day.

What makes this moment special isn’t just the numbers, but the journey behind them. Silksong spent years in development, wrapped in mystery and delays, leading some to doubt whether it could live up to the hype, or even release at all.

However, the excitement and response so far show just how much faith and patience the community had, and how much heart Team Cherry poured into this world.

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 Pre-Orders Refunded Amid Backlash

Story Highlight
  • Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 Pre-Orders will be refunded starting September 8th.
  • This decision happened right after Paradox locked two classes behind a paywall.
  • The game is finally set to release next month, but many fans have already given up on it.

The sequel to 2004’s cult RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2, is finally being released after over two decades. However, Paradox hasn’t been treating this project kindly, with mishaps happening every so often.

Just recently, pre-orders for the game opened, and the pricing model caused significant controversy. Now, the publisher is rethinking its actions and, in doing so, has started offering refunds for the game.

Why it matters: Even prior to its release, fans have lost hope for Bloodlines 2, lowering their expectations that it’ll come anywhere near the original release. Constant delays, among other issues, have led to its hype dying.

The Game’s Community Developer Announcing Refunds For Pre-Orders

On the official Bloodlines 2 Discord, community developer DebbieElla issued a statement saying that the premium edition of the game will be refunded starting on September 8th.

Surprisingly, this refund was only mentioned for PlayStation users, and Xbox and Steam players weren’t included in the message. Nevertheless, full details regarding the new adjustment and changes are expected on September 17th.

Players would still be able to pre-order the game later, before the planned October 21st.

Bloodlines 2 Had An Initial Release In 2020

For some context, two of the clans in Bloodlines 2 were locked behind a DLC, which was included in the premium edition, that was priced at a whopping $90. Separately, the Shadows & Silk pack still cost around $21.99, which was absurd just for two classes.

Nevertheless, there’s no doubt that Bloodlines 2 has significantly improved, although it may have taken years and a shift of developer studio to do so. Still, if it measures up to anything near the original, players will see for themselves soon enough.

At Just $20, Fans Believe They’re Underpaying for Hollow Knight Silksong

Story Highlight
  • Team Cherry priced Silksong at just $20, which is why they’ve been able to reach so many players.
  • However, some players thought that the game was underpriced and were willing to pay more for it.
  • Others thanked Team Cherry for this lower price tag since buying video games has become more challenging nowadays.

It’s unusual for an indie title to make these huge waves, but Hollow Knight Silksong has become 2025’s biggest release in terms of player base. In less than 24 hours from its release, the game reached 500k concurrent players on Steam and caused outages on several platforms.

Perhaps the main reason why Silksong is so successful is due to its low price point at just $20. As such, in a rare instance, fans believe that they’re underpaying for the game and it deserves a much higher price tag.

Why it matters: In this era, fans mostly complain about higher price points, and saying that a game is priced too low is a rare occurrence. It just goes to show why indie games are more respected due to their passion for games and ability to connect with fans.

Fans Are Actually Wanting To Pay More For Silksong || Social Media

Shortly after Team Cherry made the pricing announcement for Silksong, fans were shocked at the low $20 price tag. In fact, one of them quoted the post, wanting the developers to raise the title’s price by $10 per repost.

Fan Says That Silksong Should’ve Been Priced At $40 || Social Media

Another fan in the replies told the developers to make the game $40 or else he wouldn’t buy it. It just showcases the passion and love fans have for the game and how far they’re willing to go to support the developers.

Surprisingly, Silksong is just $5 more expensive than its predecessor and only $0.11 more when adjusted for inflation.

Thank you, Team Cherry
byu/XLpancake inHollowKnight

On Reddit, gamers were thanking developers Team Cherry for making Silksong so cheap compared to modern releases. With inflation rising daily, it’s challenging for gamers to purchase new titles, which is why modern game spending has decreased significantly.

In other regions, the game costs even less, almost half of its retail price, depending on where players are.

Have you bought Silksong yet? If so, then let us know your thoughts on the game in the comments or at the Tech4Gamers Forums.

MachineGames Isn’t Done With the Wolfenstein Franchise, Teases New Game

Story Highlight
  • MachineGames studio head teased a new Wolfenstein game.
  • The studio head said that they always envisioned protagonist William B.J. being part of a trilogy.
  • Recent job listings have confirmed that a new Wolfenstein project is indeed underway.

Wolfenstein is among the very first video game franchises to popularize the FPS genre. Dating back decades, the series has always focused on the resistance against Nazi forces.

The latest entry, Wolfenstein Youngblood, failed to captivate the audience, and as such, developers MachineGames shifted to a new IP, Indiana Jones. However, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle being finished, the studio might be ready to return to the series that made it big in the first place.

In a new documentary about the making of the Wolfenstein games, MachineGames teased a new entry in the series.

Why it matters: Wolfenstein is one of the most beloved and historically rich video game series. Fans will be excited to see that a new game is in the works.

Talking about the game’s protagonist, William B.J., studio head Jerk Gustafsson explained his journey, including how he met his lover Anya while pushing back against the nazis, and later on how he discovered other meanings in life beyond just fighting. He further stated:

I think this is important to say because we have always seen this as a trilogy

Gustafsson added that since the beginning of the series, they had always envisioned a third entry in the series.

I hope, that we’re not done with Wolfenstein yet. We have a story to tell.

To further confirm that a new Wolfenstein game is in development, recent job listings suggested exactly that.

With the studio confirming that Wolfenstein: Youngblood is canon to the story, it is interesting to see what approach a third entry would take

MachineGames has several projects in development, including a new Wolfenstein game, an Indiana Jones sequel, and possibly a new Quake game. However, expect Wolfenstein 3 before any of these games.

Star Wars Outlaws Deemed Incredible Switch 2 Port – Runs Much Better Than Anticipated

Story Highlight
  • Star Wars Outlaws on the Nintendo Switch 2 is comparable to the Xbox Series S version in many ways.
  • This port has shown outstanding results, carrying over features like ray tracing.
  • Analysts believe this is the pinnacle of AAA ports on the platform and shows what the system is really capable of.

Star Wars Outlaws is now available for the Nintendo Switch 2, but fans were quite concerned about the game leading up to its release. Between the console’s hardware limitations and a poor representation of the port in early footage, fans did not have a lot of hope for this particular port.

Fortunately, Ubisoft seems to have more than made up for the disappointing early footage. Analysts believe Star Wars Outlaws is a shining example of AAA games on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Why it matters: This port has given fans hope for future titles like Elden Ring and Borderlands 4 on Nintendo’s latest hardware.

According to Digital Foundry’s analysis, Star Wars Outlaws on the Nintendo Switch 2 is very close in overall quality to the Xbox Series S version.

For starters, the game features ray tracing effects on the Nintendo Switch 2, like the other console counterparts. At times, the ray tracing in this version is even better than the Xbox Series S counterpart, owing to the frequent use of screen space reflections on the Xbox Series S.

Moreover, the Nintendo Switch 2 holds its own when looking at the quality of the volumetric clouds. Both consoles also depict similar resolutions, with the upscaled target set at 1440p.

The Nintendo Switch 2 runs at around 720p internally, while the Xbox Series S operates between 720p and 1080p. Between the two, the use of DLSS and FSR makes the major difference, with the former resulting in a much sharper image than one would anticipate.

Similarly, Star Wars Outlaws produces a solid image on the Nintendo Switch 2 in handheld mode, thanks to DLSS. All of this is done while maintaining a mostly steady 30FPS on the console.

Handheld mode also retains most of the visual strengths of the Docked version, but the level of detail is sacrificed on more than one occasion.

Star Wars Outlaws proves Switch 2 is capable of extraordinary things in the right hands.

Star Wars Outlaws Is Now Available On Four Different Platforms

Of course, the game still has plenty of cutbacks compared to the more powerful console counterparts. Elements like the shadows, volumetric lighting, NPC density, and more take a hit on the hybrid hardware, but the final result is still incredibly impressive.

As Digital Foundry puts it, this port sets a new benchmark for what developers can do when maximizing the console’s potential.

What do you make of Star Wars Outlaws on the Nintendo Switch 2? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Already Runs At 4K 60FPS Through Mobile Emulation

Story Highlight
  • Hollow Knight Silksong surprised everyone by crashing store platforms at launch.
  • The game attracted over half a million players on day one and runs exceptionally well.
  • Impressively, it can even run at 4K 60 FPS on an Android device with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.

Hollow Knight: Silksong has finally launched, and it has taken the internet by storm. Few expected it to attract over 500,000 players at launch, an impressive milestone for an indie title.

On the technical side, the game is also extremely well optimized, which isn’t too surprising given its 2D platformer design. It runs at 4K 120 FPS on current-gen consoles, while the Nintendo Switch 2 offers 1080p 120 FPS or 4K 60 FPS options.

What’s even more surprising is that the game can be emulated on mobile devices, reaching 4K 60FPS performance there as well.

Why it matters: While Silksong isn’t a demanding game, its ability to hit such high performance, especially on mobile through emulation, is still impressive and highlights its strong optimization.

Tranquility on YouTube shared a video showcasing Hollow Knight: Silksong running at 4K 60FPS on an Android device powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The user ran the game using Winlator Cmod for emulation.

Overall, the performance is impressive, with the game delivering a solid 4K 60FPS experience on mobile. That said, there are occasional dips, most noticeable during boss fights.

In the first boss encounter shown in the video, the framerate briefly dropped to around 52 FPS, but for the most part, it held steady at 59 FPS.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Running On Mobile
Hollow Knight: Silksong is Running At A Solid 60 FPS on a Mobile.

This performance is remarkable because the game was designed for consoles and PC, yet it runs almost flawlessly on Android. While Silksong is not nearly as demanding as modern AAA titles, it still highlights how far mobile hardware has come, now delivering near-console quality on the go.

That said, mobile phones still can’t match the performance of consoles or PCs when it comes to bigger AAA games. For instance, Hitman: World of Assassination was released on iOS, but even the iPhone 16 Pro Max struggles due to severe performance issues.

Nonetheless, seeing Silksong run this well on Android is impressive and shows the potential of mobile gaming for indie titles in particular.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Finally Gets Announcement Update — And Its Coming Sooner Than You Think

Story Highlight
  • FF7 Remake Trilogy creative director Tetsuya Nomura has given a new announcement update for the Final Fantasy 7 remake part 3.
  • Square Enix has already internally selected the announcement timing for the game, confirming it is not far off.
  • He also reiterates that the game’s development is progressing pretty well without any hiccups.

Although Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth did not sell as well as Square Enix expected due to timed console exclusivity, both games in the remake trilogy have been received well by fans. Anticipation for the third part is also at an all-time high.

Square Enix has been drip-feeding us minor updates so far, but a new remark has finally given us a better timeframe for its expected release. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trilogy creative director Tetsuya Nomura now claims the development is progressing very smoothly.

In fact, the development has reached deep enough that Square Enix has now internally decided the announcement date for it.

Why it matters: Square Enix has mostly kept Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 under wraps besides giving occasional vague updates about its progress late last year. However, we may see an actual release date soon.

As revealed during the second anniversary stream for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, the studio plans to follow the set schedule and reveal the game as soon as it is ready.

This update is a big deal because the developers wouldn’t pinpoint an announcement timing if the RPG were not nearing completion.

[Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3’s development] is going very smoothly. The announcement timing has been decided and we will stick to that schedule, so please rest assured and wait.

-Tetsuya Nomura.

With Part 3’s story completed earlier this year and the announcement timing now set, the development has progressed much faster than we anticipated. Therefore, we may see Part 3 come out much sooner than the rumors suggested.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth exceeded the expectations of fans and critics alike.

Final Fantasy Remake Part 3 might be revealed early next year with a planned release date during the next winter season. For now, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is expected to launch first on Xbox sometime next year.

Do you think Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will be announced later this year, or is the update just PR talk to calm down anticipated fans? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Top 5 VR Games With The Most Impressive Tech In 2025

Story Highlight
  • Modern VR games don’t get enough praise for their innovations and technical leaps.
  • The likes of Marvel’s Deadpool, Batman Arkham Shadows, and more showcase unique technical strengths that make use of virtual reality’s strengths.
  • These technologies range from enhanced animation systems to latency compensation.

VR gaming has come a long way since its inception. Releases like Half-Life Alyx and Batman Arkham Shadows have pushed the medium forward, while pieces of hardware like PS VR2 have made the technology more accessible.

In fact, even Valve appears to be working on a new VR headset, suggesting that even more advancements are on the way. Because things will only go up from here, it’s also important to reflect on the most advanced VR games out right now and how they push the medium forward.

Why it matters: VR gaming is far from mainstream, so innovation and wide appeal are key to ensuring it stays relevant among the masses.

Spatial Audio In Batman Arkham Shadows

batman arkham shadow
Batman Arkham Shadows Remains A Highlight For VR Gaming

Batman Arkham Shadows is widely considered one of the best VR experiences available today. As someone who played the game on the Meta Quest 3, I was immediately impressed by its sophisticated spatial audio techniques designed for immersive 3D soundscapes.

Something I like about Batman Arkham Shadows, in particular, is the fact that it impresses despite the many hardware limitations of the Meta Quest 3 and 3S. This is done through advanced Head-Related Transfer Function (HRTF) technology and spatial audio processing.

These technologies are specifically optimized for the integrated mobile chips of the Quest headsets, making them all the more impressive.

Forefront’s Netcode

Forefront VR Game
Forefront Offers A Battlefield-Like Experience In Virtual Reality

I’ve played many VR shooters, but none impressed me quite like Forefront. This was mainly due to how well the game handled 8v8 multiplayer gameplay across a Battlefield-inspired virtual reality experience.

Because multiplayer VR gameplay requires synchronizing head position, hand tracking, body orientation, and all types of other movements, a smooth online experience in this type of game is easier said than done.

However, Forefront’s latency compensation for wireless VR headsets was an instant game-changer for me. This is also one of the key areas of innovation where VR development is currently focused on.

Hand Tracking In nDreams’ Reach

Reach From nDreams
Reach Focuses On Parkour Abilities For Exciting Gameplay

This is a game I have yet to play, but nDreams’ Reach already looks like something special for fans of virtual reality. The marketing is currently focused on ‘full-body awareness’ and ‘true-to-life interactions’ thanks to the use of inverse kinematics systems.

These systems should result in believable full-body avatar representations from limited head and hand tracking data.

Deadpool VR’s Animation

Deadpool VR
Deadpool VR Seems Like A Treat For Comicbook Fans

Superhero games are doing better than ever, and this is one upcoming release I’m personally looking forward to.

If the dynamic combo of Deadpool and Neil Patrick Harris wasn’t enough to sell the game, the game boasts an incredibly advanced animation system befitting of an iconic comic book character like Deadpool.

To strike the perfect balance, Deadpool VR aims for a system that blends pre-authored animations with the player’s tracking data. Because everything about this title looks perfect and Deadpool barely gets time to shine in gaming, November 18 can’t come soon enough.

Handcrafted Environments In Arken Age

Arken Age launched earlier this year and quickly became one of the most impressive VR games to date. Its main appeal comes from handmade environments optimized for virtual reality compared to the traditional approach of utilizing procedural generation.

This is interesting since VR requires environmental artists to account for an unlimited number of viewpoints, and Arken Age’s solution to the problem relies on advanced culling algorithms that predict which areas need detailed rendering.

Each of the aforementioned games is impressive in its own right, but virtual reality is just getting started. With more and more studios showing interest in VR gaming, the sky is the limit, and even more exciting games await.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Sells 1 Million Copies In Only 24 Hours Despite Performance Issues

Story Highlight
  • Konami has announced that the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake has officially sold over 1 million copies.
  • It achieved this milestone in only its first day despite disappointing performance issues across all platforms.
  • The popular stealth action entry has likely sold even more millions of copies through the rest of the week.

The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake’s launch was both a moment of celebration and disappointment for gamers. Despite being an otherwise excellent reimagining, a plethora of major optimization issues hindered player experience on all platforms.

However, the fan-favorite stealth action game has still performed beyond expectations. Konami has now announced that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater sold over 1 million copies across all platforms despite the optimization hiccups.

Why it matters: The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake hitting this incredible milestone may compel Konami to work on other remakes and mainline projects in the franchise over the years.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake has now officially sold over 1 million copies in its first 24 hours since launch.

As mentioned by Konami, the MGS 3 remake achieved the million-sales milestone in only 24 hours after launch. Therefore, many fans suspect that the sales figure is likely over a million by this point.

The figure counts both the physical and digital sales, with the iconic PS2 remake also being enjoyed by new players and old fans alike.

This achievement reflects the enduring popularity of the METAL GEAR franchise, recognized as one of the most influential in video game history.

-Konami

Konami is also fixing the bugs and performance issues plaguing the remake through patches.

Regardless, the studio has previously expressed interest in working on more Metal Gear Solid remake projects as long as this remake proves to be a success. And Konami has also hinted at the prospect of a mainline title with the new development team.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake
Konami is working to fix the MGS3 remake performance issues.

Right now, the Xbox Series X is the best platform to play the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, offering the smoothest experience across all the other consoles. It has extreme frame rate issues across PS5 and PS5 Pro ports.

Do you think these Metal Gear Solid 3 remake sales will influence Konami to focus on the series’ future, or is the 1 million milestone not that unexpected for this game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2 Requires Game Key Card To Ensure “Quality”

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft says Star Wars Outlaws requires a game key card on Switch 2 for quality assurance.
  • The game was primarily designed for SSDs and wouldn’t have worked well on a cartridge.
  • It seems to be a very decent port with good visuals and consistent performance.

Star Wars Outlaws is finally out on the Nintendo Switch 2. Ubisoft appears to have done a decent job with the port, focusing on both optimization and visuals. However, to do so, they had to put it on a game key card, and there’s a reason for that.

Ubisoft says that Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2 requires a game key card to ensure the quality of the port. Because the game was primarily designed for hardware with SSD support, it wouldn’t have worked well on a cartridge.

Why it matters: Although the Switch 2 uses UFS 3.1 storage, which in theory can reach SATA SSD speeds, it still lacks proper NVMe speeds for which the Star Wars Outlaws was basically designed.

Ubisoft developer says Star Wars Outlaws on Switch requires a game key card for quality.

Ubisoft audio architect Rob Bantin replied to a Bluesky post where fans expressed their annoyance with Star Wars Outlaws being included on a game key card. For instance, Cyberpunk 2077 is entirely available on a cartridge

However, the latter was designed for last-gen consoles as well, so SSD wasn’t a basic requirement, which is different for Star Wars Outlaws. It would’ve meant serious performance issues for the game on Switch 2.

Star Wars Outlaws Switch 2
Ubisoft seems to have done a good job with the Star Wars Outlaws Switch 2 port.

Now, based on testing, Outlaws seems to be a very decent port, even featuring better visuals than the more powerful Xbox Series S. While its earlier reviews showed performance issues too, it now runs at a consistent 30 FPS.

So, yes, it would’ve been more convenient if the game were on a cartridge, but that would’ve presented the game with a lot more issues. Ubisoft also says that cost-cutting wasn’t involved in this process either.

What are your thoughts on Star Wars Outlaws requiring a game key card on Switch 2? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the Tech4Gamers Forum.
