Witcher 4 To Adapt Crossroads of Raven Book Too!

Story Highlight
  • A younger Geralt could appear in Witcher 4 via flashback sequences.
  • The game’s narrative director teases that the Crossroads of Ravens book will be included in the game.
  • The book is a prequel story that follows a younger Geralt on his journey to becoming a seasoned witcher.

The Witcher 4 will mark new beginnings for the franchise, featuring Ciri as the series’ brand-new protagonist. Still, fans weren’t happy with this outcome, feeling that this decision would sidetrack their old Witcher Geralt.

That is, developers have constantly teased Geralt’s presence in the game. Now, Witcher 4’s Narrative Director hints that Crossroads of Ravens will be adapted into the game, teasing that Geralt would be playable in the game via some flashback sequences.

Why it matters: Geralt is too big a character to leave behind in the dust. Fans would be pleased to know that the old Witcher is still a part of the new game.

Crossroads of Ravens Hinted To Be Featured In Witcher 4

On social media, the Narrative Director for Witcher 4 posted a variety of books with Crossroads of Ravens on top. For those not familiar, Crossroads of Ravens is the latest entry in Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher novel series.

The book is a prequel story that features a younger Geralt in his youth, detailing how he became a seasoned Witcher. Interestingly, in the comment section, whilst replying to a fan, Weber said that he already knew most of the book’s points due to the job’s requirements.

In the follow-up reply, he said that he wouldn’t reveal how the book will tie into Witcher 4. He talked about how they borrowed a few elements from Season of Storms during the development of Witcher 3, so expect a similar outcome.

With Crossroads of Ravens being a standalone Geralt journey only and having no tie to Ciri, who wasn’t even born at the time, the only possible outcome is that a younger Geralt will appear in Witcher 4, akin to the flashback sequences of Ciri in Witcher 3.

CDPR is fully focused on Witcher 4’s development and, in doing so, has given Unreal Engine 5 an upgrade. The game’s hype has also resulted in the studio becoming one of the most valuable companies in Europe.
