New Ubisoft Petition Is Gaining Ground Among Passionate Fans!

Story Highlight
  • A new petition has been launched on Change.org to reverse the decision to cancel the alleged Star Wars Outlaws sequel.
  • Recently, an insider suggested that a sequel was reportedly scrapped in pre-production due to poor sales of the original.
  • However, fans who signed the petitions claim the game flopped since it launched before it was ready.

Many franchises under the Ubisoft umbrella have suffered drastic damage recently. One of the studio’s anticipated games, Star Wars Outlaws, also met a grim fate by selling poorly after it failed to satisfy fans for one reason or another.

However, we have stumbled upon a new petition on Change.org that wants to save the rumored Star Wars Outlaws sequel from being canned by Ubisoft. Previously, insider Tom Henderson suggested that Ubisoft canceled the sequel only in its pre-production phase.

Why it matters: Despite rumors of cancellation, the new petition is aiming to save the sequel from being scrapped by Ubisoft. These fans believe in the sequel’s potential despite the first game flopping.

The relatively new petition to save the Star Wars Outlaws sequel is slowly growing.

The fresh petition, with 758 signatures already at the time of writing, argues that Star Wars Outlaws flopped because it launched before it was ready. So, bugs and poor gameplay mechanics led to disappointing experiences for many players.

These fans believe that the sequel can fix all these issues by increasing the quality and development time.

Many players gave up before seeing the improvements that came later. The early problems left a bad first impression, and unfortunately, that is what stuck.

Ubisoft blamed declining interest in the Star Wars franchise for the poor reception of Outlaws, something that the petition disagrees with. It is asking Ubisoft to reconsider scrapping the sequel and have an open engagement with fans to remeasure interest in the IP.

Star Wars Outlaws
Star Wars Outlaws was considered a flop due to negative player and sales reception.

The new petition on Change.org is slowly gaining traction, with the number of signatures likely to jump considerably after more exposure; there is a lot of interest in a well-developed open-world Star Wars game.

However, Ubisoft has yet to officially acknowledge the existence of the Star Wars Outlaws sequel. Therefore, it’s unclear whether this plea from fans will ultimately go anywhere.

Do you think these increasing signatures will be able to reverse the decision already made by the Ubisoft executives? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.
