Sucker Punch Wants To Remain A Single-Project Studio Unlike Other PlayStation Studios

Story Highlight
  • Sucker Punch founder says they are committed to being a single-franchise studio.
  • He says that it ensures the project they are working on has top-notch quality.
  • They chose to remain a moderately sized AAA studio as a result of this decision.

Sucker Punch is the studio behind some popular PlayStation franchises like Ghost, Sly Cooper, and Infamous. However, the studio has a trend of not releasing many projects concurrently, as it doesn’t work on multiple projects simultaneously.

The studio deliberately keeps the team small, as they want to focus on a single project at a time. This allows them to maintain quality and allocate all their resources to a single title.

Why it matters: Other studios are known for multiple projects at once, pumping out multiple new releases, remasters, and more, but Ghost of Yotei studio deliberately stays away from it.

Ghost of Yotei
Sucker Punch is committed to being a single-project studio.

Speaking with VGC, studio co-founder Brian Fleming discussed their development procedures. He said that Sucker Punch is committed to being a single-project studio because that’s what they are good at.

If we were good at juggling four projects, yeah, we’d have a remaster, and let’s go do one of those, and one of those,… But we only get to do one thing

– Brian Fleming

So, whether they plan to do another Ghost or Sly game in the future, that will be their only project. While other PlayStation studios like Naughty Dog take a completely different approach, releasing remakes and new games.

Sly Cooper Biggest PS Plus Classic Launch
Fans want the studio to explore its older franchises again

It isn’t to say that the studio has many new ideas; they do, but they pick the best one and move forward with it. It is just a very intentional move to keep the team small for a AAA studio and focus on delivering the best they can.

For now, the studio has had great success with Ghost of Yotei. With its 30th anniversary approaching, fans are hoping for something new, especially as we haven’t had a Sly or Infamous game for many years.

Windows 10 Support Ends Today, Leaving 40% of PC Users Stranded Without Security Updates

Story Highlight
  • Microsoft has ended support for Windows 10, nearly a decade after the OS’s release date.
  • Almost 40% of PC users are on Windows 10, now vulnerable to security threats due to a lack of updates.
  • Microsoft has a program that offers security updates for a year, but it costs nearly $61.

Released almost a decade ago on July 29, 2015, Windows 10 officially ended its run today, on 14th October 2025.

According to StatCounter, 40.8% of PC users worldwide are still using Windows 10 as of 2025. With support ending today, Microsoft will no longer release security updates for millions of users, leaving them stranded and exposed to security threats.

Why it matters: With millions of users still using Windows 10, Microsoft shouldn’t have dropped security updates just yet. Furthermore, upgrading to Windows 11 isn’t possible for these users due to the hardware requirements.

windows 10 support end
Microsoft Is Forcing Users To Upgrade To Windows 11

There’s still a way for Windows 10 users to continue receiving security updates, but there’s a catch. By paying $61 per year, users can enroll in Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates (ESU) program to continue their defense against security threats.

Still, $61 is a lot of money just for a year’s worth of updates. The European Economic Area has secured a year free of updates for Windows 10 users who aren’t part of a business.

For other options, Microsoft is essentially forcing users to upgrade to Windows 11, but that isn’t as easy as it seems.

Microsoft Clarifies That Windows 11 Isn’t To Blame For Recent SSD Failures

Due to the TPM 2.0 requirement, nearly 200 million users are ineligible for a Windows 11 upgrade. Most motherboards aren’t compatible with TPM 2.0, so the only option for these users is a hardware upgrade, as Microsoft remains firm in its stance on the hardware requirements.

Due to this reason, users are downgrading to Windows 7 instead of upgrading. Currently, nearly 10% of PC users are on Windows 7.

Still, on the flip side, Windows 11 is a much better option and is finally in a stable condition. The features and performance increase are enough of a reason for users to upgrade, if they’re able to do so.

Are you still stuck on Windows 10? Will you upgrade/downgrade now that support for the OS has ended? Let us know in the comments below, or at the official Tech4Gamers Forums.

Halo Remake Will Allegedly Have Modern Gameplay Mechanics And Sprint

Story Highlight
  • Halo Remake will allegedly have gameplay similar to the rumored upcoming Halo 7 multiplayer entry.
  • It will have modern gameplay mechanics, including sprinting, and aims to be a full-fledged remake.
  • The remake will also be released on PS5, but it’s unclear if it will be a day-one launch.

The Halo franchise has certainly declined over the years, with the last game failing to meet expectations. New reports also suggest that Halo Studio is having leadership problems, which have painted a dire picture for the upcoming games in the series.

However, fans are still excited for the rumored Halo CE remake, which is being co-developed by the Elder Scrolls Oblivion remastered team, Virtuous Studios. A new leak now suggests that it will have many modern gameplay mechanics that we have seen in recent titles.

Why it matters: Many fans are excited to experience the original Halo through a modern lens, but it’s unclear whether the remake will retain the nostalgic elements from the original release.

Halo Remake will allegedly have modern gameplay mechanics, including sprinting.

Popular leaker Halo Leaks claims on Twitter that the remake will feature the ability to sprint and many other mechanics to ease the experience. He believes the gameplay will resemble the upcoming rumored Halo 7 multiplayer game.

He also adds that the remake will launch on PS5, but it is unknown whether it will be a day-one release. It will also be a full-fledged remake, like the Resident Evil games, instead of a minor project. The remake is also expected to be campaign-only and skip multiplayer.

Most users are eagerly looking forward to the remake, but the rumor has also worried gamers who believe these modern mechanics will steal the authentic feel of Halo CE.

Halo Infinite did not perform as well as expected in terms of sales and player reception.

The Halo remake is expected to be announced on October 24th this year, alongside multiple other projects from the franchise. We will also likely see the next mainline games, including the aforementioned Halo 7 multiplayer title.

Do you think the Halo remake will keep its authentic feel despite having modern gameplay mechanics? Are you excited for it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT NITRO+ Has Also Sustained A Connector Meltdown

Story Highlight
  • A user has reported that their Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT NITRO+ graphics card is experiencing a melting connector issue.
  • The GPU in question used the 12V-2X6 connector design, which also melted in ASrock’s Taichi RX 9070 XT.
  • Four of the eight pins in the adapter were burned, pointing to unequal power distribution.

The 12V-2X6 connector design was introduced in 2025 as a new evolution in power management for graphics cards, as it easily accommodates more than 300 watts. However, so far, only two AMD board partners, namely ASRock and Sapphire, have adopted this new design over the 12VHPWR model introduced in 2023.

ASRock’s Taichi RX 9070XT model has already suffered due to this issue, with users reporting that their power supplies have melted. And now, the Sapphire GPUs have also entered the unfortunate conversation of melting connectors.

Why it matters: A new connector design that encounters the same problems it was intended to solve is not good news for gamers and companies like AMD.

Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT NITRO+ Melting connector reddit
The Reddit user is showing the melted connector.

As revealed on Reddit, a user’s Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT NITRO+ graphics card suffered from a melting connector issue, the first ever such case reported for this variant. The user in question was powering this GPU through the blue-tipped adapter, which was connected to three 8-pin cables from a Corsair RM1000X PSU.

Four of the eight pins exhibited visible burn marks, which could indicate a larger issue of unequal power distribution in the 12V-2X6 connector.

The Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT NITRO+ only consumes around 360W, according to the replies on the Reddit post. Hence, this melting problem is a stain on the reputation of the 12V-2X6 connectors, which were introduced to address the power issues of the 12VHPWR connector design.

The latter of these connectors has even landed PCI-SIG in legal trouble due to the melting issue. Hence, if this eternal problem persists in the 12V-2X6 connectors, AMD and NVIDIA may need to rethink the future of this design.

What do you think about this melting connector issue? Tell us in the comments below or head to the Tech4Gamers forum for discussion.

Borderlands 4 Already Selling For 20% Off On Steam, Suggesting Sales Failed To Meet Internal Expectations

Story Highlight
  • Borderlands 4 is now on sale for 20% off on Steam, only a month after launch.
  • Its price has been slashed by $14 for a limited time, suggesting its full price may have impacted initial sales.
  • It sold 2.5 million copies after its first week, which was reportedly only half of Borderlands 3’s initial sales.

Borderlands 4 is a fun FPS if we push a plethora of technical issues aside, as it launched in an unoptimized state on PC and consoles. The game hit as low as 1 FPS in some areas on the PS5, despite the Gearbox CEO assuring that it would run ‘buttery smooth’ on consoles.

The game sold over 2.5 million copies in its first ten days, but the decent head start was only half of Borderlands 3’s initial figure. Now, it is already selling for 20% off on Steam, suggesting that the initial sales failed to reach the internal target.

Why it matters: Borderlands 4 selling for 20% off on Steam is good news for gamers, but the discount suggests the game did not have as strong an impact on the industry as Randy Pitchford expected.

Borderlands 4 is selling for 20% off on Steam for a limited time.

As seen on the Steam page, Borderlands 4 is available for only $55.99, a $14 discount from its original price of $69.99. So, gamers who were hesitant to purchase the title due to its price can now give it a shot. However, the offer is only valid until October 20th.

The Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions are also enjoying the 20% off sale. Regardless, this deal is being mocked online because the Gearbox boss, Randy Pitchford, had claimed Borderlands 4 would not go on sale for a long time.

There was a lot of controversy about Borderlands 4’s pricing even before launch, as rumors had suggested an $80 price tag instead of $70. Randy Pitchford had previously claimed that gamers would still find a way to buy the game even if it cost $350.

Borderlands 4 gameplay release date
The game launched with plenty of technical issues.

Therefore, Borderlands 4’s price being reduced to $55 for the next week even suggests that its $70 price hurt its sales. In other words, it may have sold as much as Borderlands 3, if not more, if it had been priced more fairly.

Do you think Borderlands 4 already selling for 20% off on Steam for a limited time suggests it sold less than internal expectations, or is that claim too unprecedented? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Nintendo Leak Shows Pokemon Games Earn Over 1000% Profit On Each Release

Story Highlight
  • Nintendo’s recent leaks have shed light on the typical production cost of a modern Pokemon title.
  • It is said that the upcoming Pokemon Legends Z-A cost just $13 million to produce.
  • Since each new game from the series sells millions of copies at release, Nintendo earns at least 10x profits with each entry.

Nintendo recently suffered a massive data breach, and plenty of information is now out in the wild. Interestingly, various pieces of information have revealed details regarding the Pokemon franchise, a series that sells millions upon millions of units with each new release.

According to these leaks, these games are extremely cheap to make. In fact, Pokemon budgets are so small that each new release makes over 10x profits on the initial investment.

Why it matters: Modern game budgets have exploded, with the average AAA release requiring investments as high as $300 million. Therefore, Pokemon stands in stark contrast to this trend.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Broke All Past Records For The Series

According to the latest leaks, the upcoming Pokemon Legends Z-A has a budget as small as $13 million. Moreover, the next mainline 10th-generation Pokemon title boasts a similar budget of $20 million.

Assuming other games in the series have been made in a similar budget, the series can comfortably turn profits as high as 10x the initial investment. For context, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet sold over 25 million lifetime units, while Pokemon Sword and Shield achieved similar sales. In total, the series boasts over 500 million lifetime sales.

Both aforementioned games made well over $1 billion, earning significantly more than 10 times the development cost. Even when accounting for additional marketing and distribution costs, each Pokemon game earns close to a billion dollars in profits for Nintendo. The Pokémon IP, especially, has avenues like trading card collections at Titanshield and similar sites that bring in consumers and profit, so seeing that level of success in the gaming sphere is unsurprising all things considered.

Because the series has been stuck in such a poor technical state for so long, these numbers come as no surprise. In many ways, the latest Pokemon games still lag behind the cutting-edge AAA productions from 15 years ago.

The upcoming Pokemon Legends Z-A has shown potential, but ultimately, the game appears to pale in comparison to an open-world like that of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Considering how successful the series is, perhaps it’s time Nintendo and Game Freak invest more money into their magnum opus.

What do you make of the leaked figures? Let’s discuss in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Ghost of Yotei Boycott Didn’t Work; Now Top-Seller in Multiple Countries

Story Highlight
  • Ghost of Yotei has managed to top sales charts despite the boycott calls.
  • The title is now the top-selling game in multiple regions across Europe and Asia.
  • It also received decent reviews and is continuing to sell well.

Before its launch, Ghost of Yotei was poised to fail due to the various controversies surrounding it. However, it has managed to sell well over 1 million copies and has sold faster than Ghost of Tsushima, already making it a hit.

One of the biggest controversies was the political issue that Sucker Punch found itself in, and many people called for a complete boycott of the game. Despite that, Ghost of Yotei managed to top sales charts in multiple regions.

Why it matters: Due to the mass boycott calls, many expected the title to fail, but it managed to overcome all the issues and emerged on top, not only with good reviews but also brilliant sales figures.

Ghost of Yotei managed to top sales despite the boycott call

Just like Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei topped the sales charts in Japan (via Famitsu). It also impressed the audience as it depicts the culture quite well. Previously, Assassin’s Creed Shadows faced a lot of criticism for wrong depiction.

It was also the top-seller in the UK (via Chris Dring) in physical sales. This is a bigger feat than Japanese sales because it launched alongside EA FC 26, but still managed to beat its sales at launch. And, it is still continuing to sell well.

Ghost of Yotei
It also has quite decent overall reviews

Ghost of Yotei has also been a hit in European regions, being the top seller in France (via VGChartz) as well. Moreover, it also topped pre-orders in Australia, Canada, Germany, the US, and more, indicating massive success.

Overall, Ghost of Yotei has also impressed the critics and the audience. The only criticism is the linear story; otherwise, it is an upgrade over its predecessor, and the sales are looking quite strong as well.

Red Dead Redemption 2 on Switch 2 Could Rival PS4 Pro and Xbox One X Ports

Story Highlight
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 on Switch 2 port could look as good as Xbox One X and PS5 Pro versions.
  • The next-gen update for modern-day consoles could also introduce Ray Tracing, but that remains to be seen.
  • An announcement is expected soon, possibly at The Game Awards

Despite being released almost 8 years ago, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most visually stunning and detailed video games ever. Despite massive sales to date, the game is unavailable natively for modern platforms.

That said, a Switch 2 port and next-gen update for Xbox Series and PS5 are in development, confirmed by multiple sources. As such, Analysts are already discussing how Red Dead Redemption 2, such a visually beautiful game, would run on Nintendo’s latest handheld.

Discussing what the Switch 2 could output, Digital Foundry believes the handheld could match the quality of the game running on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.

Why it matters: The Nintendo Switch 2 was marketed as a handheld capable of running AAA games. Being able to match flagship consoles of the last generation is still a massive feat.

The latest DF Direct Weekly episode brought up the topic of Red Dead Redemption 2 Switch 2 and next-gen update after reliable insider Nate The Hate confirmed the existence of these ports.

For the Switch 2, given what the hardware is, I wouldn’t imagine we’d even see a version as good as the Xbox One X version on there.

However, it is worth noting that the handheld would be able to match these consoles in terms of graphical fidelity, but the resolution would be scaled down from 4k.

Arthur Morgan From Red Dead Redemption 2
Rockstar Believes That RDR2 Is The Studio’s Best Work So Far

Regarding the update for Xbox Series and PS5 consoles, a 60FPS mode is expected, alongside Ray Tracing elements, similar to the next-gen update that GTA 5 received recently.

If the update introduces Ray Tracing elements to the game, a 30FPS quality mode is also expected that will truly bring out the best of modern-day consoles, making the game look even better.

Regarding a release, expect an announcement soon, possibly at The Game Awards, as Rockstar would likely want to release these new-gen updates and Switch 2 port before GTA 6 is released next year.

Bluepoint Games Now Hiring For 3rd-Person Melee Action Game After Latest Cancellation

Story Highlight
  • Bluepoint Games was working on a God of War live-service project, but the game was cancelled earlier this year.
  • The team is now hiring for a new project, requiring experience with 3rd-person melee action games.
  • The studio previously worked on melee action titles like Demon’s Souls Remake and the God of War trilogy.

Bluepoint Games has become one of PlayStation’s most beloved first-party studios in recent years. Following its work on re-releases like the Uncharted and God of War trilogy, the studio surprised everyone with the excellent PS5 launch title, Demon’s Souls Remake, in 2020.

Since then, Bluepoint Games has suffered a major cancellation in the form of a live-service God of War title. While this revelation came as a shock to many, the team seems to be working on another project already. Tech4Gamers has spotted a job listing for a Senior Combat Designer, confirming the team’s next game is based on 3rd-person melee combat.

Why it matters: The developer has proven to be quite popular time and again, and fans are hoping to see the team return with a strong game in the future.

According to the listing, the Bluepoint Games developer will work on AI gameplay, character balance, and controls of this upcoming title. Moreover, it explicitly mentions 3rd-person melee action experience as a key part of the job requirement.

Solid understanding of mechanics for 3rd-person melee action experiences.

This means that combat will be at the forefront of Bluepoint Games’ upcoming title. Whether this project is another remake or an original title remains anybody’s guess for now, but the team certainly seems to be making the most of its experience working on games with melee combat.

Since the studio last worked on Demon’s Souls Remake, another game in the same vein would certainly make sense for the studio. Souls-like games are all the rage today, and Bluepoint Games could find success within the genre. Perhaps the team has been chosen to revive PlayStation’s forgotten IP, Bloodborne, with a similar remake.

On the other hand, a recreation of one of the older God of War titles seems plausible. The team could even utilize leftover assets from its recent live-service project for such a re-release.

Bluepoint Games Last Released Demon’s Souls Remake

Another job listing for the Senior Level Designer mentions interactions, encounters, and puzzles as part of this game. While this information is vague for now, fans will be glad to know that Bluepoint Games is making some progress towards its next release.

FSR 4 INT8 Version Leaked For RDNA 2/3 GPUs, Shows Better Visuals Than FSR 3.1

Story Highlight
  • The leaked FSR 4 INT8 version unlocks AMD’s latest upscaling feature for RDNA 2/3 GPUs.
  • It provides better visuals than FSR 3.1, but the performance takes a slight hit, similar to DLSS 4.
  • FSR 4 INT8 provides a visual boost to RDNA 2/3 GPUs, but FSR 4 on RDNA 4 is still superior.

The latest version of AMD’s upscaling FSR 4 is currently available only to users with newer GPUs. The version is greatly improved with better visuals and performance, but the older versions weren’t as good, resulting in bad performance on older cards.

The RX 9000 series boasts an FP8 format that enables hardware acceleration, a feature absent in older cards. However, a new FSR 4 INT8 version has leaked online that allows the upscaling version for RDNA2/3 GPUs.

Why it matters: FSR 3.1 was the last version compatible with RDNA2/3 cards, and while it does provide a slight performance boost, it heavily compromises visuals; the FSR 4 INT8 version helps address this issue.

FSR 4 INT8 provides a visual boost to RDNA 2/3 GPUs, but FSR 4 on RDNA 4 is still superior.

AMD doesn’t appear to have any official plans to release it, but the builds have leaked online, allowing you to try it for yourself. FSR 4 INT8 (via ComputerBase) does provide a lot better visuals than the older version, but the performance takes a hit.

The FP8 build present on RX 9000 GPUs is still the superior version, but you do see an upgrade in visuals. It does take a performance hit as it doesn’t match the smoothness of FSR 4 on RDNA4 GPUs.

The scenarios differ for various games, but testing shows that FSR4 for RDN4 is significantly more consistent than FSR 4 INT8 on RDN2/3. The trend was observed in Horizon, Cronos, and other games.

Performance takes a slight hit with the leaked version.

The performance even takes a hit compared to FSR 3.1. You do get significantly better visuals, but the FPS goes down slightly. So, this is a trade-off you have to decide if you do decide to use FSR 4.

Nonetheless, if AMD decides to launch FSR 4 INT8 on older GPUs, it will be a worthwhile upgrade. The visuals can match FSR4 on RDNA4 GPUs, and the performance loss isn’t too big compared to FSR 3.1.

What are your thoughts on FSR 4 INT8 for RDNA 2/3 GPUs? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the Tech4Gamers Forum.

ASRock Confirms That It’s AMD 800 Motherboards Will Be Directly Compatible With Ryzen 10000

Story Highlight
  • ASRock confirms its B800 series motherboards will support future Ryzen 10000 CPUs, which will use the Zen 6 architecture.
  • This backward compatibility is a key selling point for new motherboards, as the older 600 series may not support chips beyond the Ryzen 9000 series.
  • ASRock’s B850M Steel Legend WiFi motherboard, which is already available, will support Zen 6 processors despite having a 32MB BIOS.

Following MSI and ASUS’ formal announcement of their motherboards’ compatibility with Zen 6, ASRock has also joined the party. The latter has also promised backward compatibility of its B800 Series motherboards with future Ryzen 10000 CPUs. ASRock, like ASUS, has been as forthright, confirming from China that their motherboards will be compatible with AMD’s upcoming Zen 6 CPU architecture.

It’s good that these companies provided this knowledge to ensure users can benefit from it in future processor generations. Today’s PC builders prefer AM5 motherboards with 800 series chipsets due to their guaranteed compatibility. The 600 series may be limited to the Ryzen 7000 and 8000 series (Zen 4) and the Ryzen 9000 (Zen 5). This has not been mentioned.

ASRock B850M Steel Legend WiFi Support Zen-6

ASRock has focused on its ASRock B850M Steel Legend WiFi motherboard being compatible with AMD Zen 6 processors. But unlike ASUS, this is an already released motherboard, and it features a 32MB BIOS.

The motherboards we’ve seen from MSI and ASUS are essentially rehashes with a fresh BIOS and 64MB storage. This not only ensures integrated support for the entire next chip generation, but GIGABYTE, for example, uses the extra space to include WiFi and Bluetooth drivers in the BIOS.

This enables you to build your PC and have WiFi connectivity as soon as you install Windows 11. This eliminates the need to use Ethernet to obtain the chipset drivers necessary for wireless communication.

This means that ASRock will maintain compatibility even if its motherboards with AMD 800 chipsets have a 32MB BIOS.

AMD Zen 6 CCD 2nm IOD 3nm

According to reports, the AMD Ryzen 10000 (Medusa) processors are expected to come with the Zen 6 (Morpheus) architecture. They are scheduled to arrive between late 2026 and early 2027.

Additionally, they may utilize the TSMC manufacturing process, based on the improved 2 nm and 3 nm nodes, to achieve improvements in efficiency and density. Some rumours suggest that they could employ an N2 or N2P node, specifically for the compute tiles, which are the CCDs that house the Zen 6 cores.

In terms of CCDs, each is predicted to rise from eight cores to a maximum of 10 or 12. The best-case scenario could result in a configuration with up to 24 cores. IPC improvements are also expected, as are faster clock rates.

Clair Obscur Director Says The Game Is Just 85% of His Original Vision, But He’s Proud of It

Story Highlight
  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 director Guillaume Broche has revealed that the final game is only 85% of his original vision.
  • However, the director is very happy with the final result, especially the fan reaction.
  • In addition, Broche wants to do more with Esquie in the future, hinting that the IP has a future.

As the award season edges near, the debate around 2025’s GOTY is getting spicier with every passing day. Players have been blessed with a multitude of generational titles this year, but one name that the majority is backing to take home the biggest awards is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

The Sandfall Interactive title has been the most enticing fairytale in gaming this year, selling over 5 million copies and earning praise from critics and creators alike. But, as it turns out, the RPG didn’t completely turn out as the director wanted in the start.

Why it matters: A creator realizing most of their vision is a testament to how beneficial the lack of constraints in indie development can be.

While talking to PCGamesn, Guillaume Broche said that the final version of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was only 85% of his original vision. But, considering how the gaming industry typically operates, he is pleased with how closely the final product aligned with his initial concept.

I think we are [at] like 85% of my original vision with the final game, which is a very impressive number.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is being hailed as GOTY 2025.

Sandfall COO Francois Meurisse expressed even more satisfaction than Broche, stating that the RPG exceeded his expectations in every way as a producer. The COO went as far as to say Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was 120% of whatever he was dreaming of making in the first place.

Broche also explained that even though he has no big regrets, he would have loved to flesh out Esquie’s story a little bit more. The director gave more hope to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 fans by saying that they will explore more with the character in the future, potentially teasing a sequel or spin-off of the RPG.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Fans desperately want a sequel to the RPG.

All in all, Guillaume Broche is more than happy with how Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 ended up, mainly due to the reaction of the gaming community. Hopefully, all the sequel teasing will result in a more concrete announcement sooner rather than later.

Do you think Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 deserves GOTY 2025? Tell us in the comments below or head to the Tech4Gamers forum for discussion.
