Switch 2 Port Also Expected To Be Announced Soon!

Story Highlight
  • The voice actor of John Marston has teased an exciting announcement for next week.
  • He states that he can’t think about anything else when playing Red Dead Redemption.
  • Judging by past leaks, it seems next-gen and Nintendo Switch 2 ports of Red Dead Redemption 2 could be the secret announcement.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been on the market for nearly seven years, leaving its mark as one of gaming’s most memorable releases to date. Despite its impact, the title has yet to receive a proper next-generation update from Rockstar Games, but recent rumors suggest something is being worked on.

A prominent voice actor has also teased an announcement related to the game, creating further excitement for what could be the much-anticipated 60FPS patch.

Why it matters: Despite its many positives, Red Dead Redemption 2 still runs at 30FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series S|X, making for a subpar experience on the current-gen consoles.

This teaser comes from Rob Wiethoff, the voice actor of John Marston, who recently streamed Red Dead Redemption. Although John Marston served as the protagonist of the original Red Dead Redemption, he also played a critical role in the narrative of the second game.

According to Rob Wiethoff, he currently knows something very exciting that he is unable to share with the community. He states that this is the only thing he can think of when playing Red Dead Redemption at the moment.

Rob Wiethoff went on to tease that this news should be made public by the end of next week, creating even more excitement among the fans. Many already believe that the voice actor’s excitement is largely due to a new Red Dead Redemption 2 update.

Not too long ago, reliable leaker NateTheHate reported that a next-gen port and a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game were in development. Because John Marston’s voice actor is teasing something so soon after this leak, there is reason to believe that his teaser is related to the earlier leak.

I’ve got such exciting news. I can’t share it with you right now. Playing this game, I can’t think of anything else.

An update for the game also seems very likely after Rockstar Games delayed GTA 6 to 2026, leaving a gap for one more release to keep the fans occupied.
