Almost 90% Positive Reviews On Steam!

The expansion of Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, was released just days ago on PC and consoles. Prior to its release, the expansion received a positive reception from the critics, leading to the sentiment that CDPR had redeemed itself.

An air of positivity around Cyberpunk 2077 and CDPR also helped the game and its expansion reach the top of Steam’s best-sellers list. With thousands of players recently returning to the game, Phantom Liberty has begun to gather many positive reviews.

The expansion has received very positive reviews on Steam, with nearly 90% of Steam reviewers having great things to share about the DLC.

Why it matters: After 80% of the Steam reviews for Cyberpunk 2077 became positive, CDPR claimed it still needed to win back trust. The expansion was part of this goal, and it appears to have been a success.

The Phantom Liberty expansion had a lot of anticipation behind it as Cyberpunk 2077 gradually improved to its current version over the years. Unlike the 2020 release, CDPR ensured the expansion would live up to the excitement this time.

Out of 4,436 reviews on Steam, 87% are positive. While the expansion has less than 5,000 reviews, it has a higher percentage of overall positive reviews than the base game.

Fans believe that Phantom Liberty has made Cyberpunk 2077 better than ever, providing a fresh start for this franchise. Those fond of a challenge have also found that the hard setting is much more challenging and viable after the recent updates.

In addition to the expansion, the team’s work on the 2.0 update has received much praise. Enhancements to the skill trees and other parts of the game have brought changes to players who have yet to try the DLC.

Thanks to a darker plot and new characters, Phantom Liberty also shines in terms of narrative. Many Steam users believe CDPR did a stellar job with the expansion, claiming that its narrative is better than the base game’s story.

Cyberpunk 2077 had a very rocky launch, disappointing the huge fandom waiting for the game.

However, CDPR has turned things around for itself and Cyberpunk 2077. Phantom Liberty is the last major content update for the game, but the studio’s efforts have ensured that it will be remembered fondly by thousands of players.

CDPR is now focused on the game’s sequel and future entries in The Witcher IP. Thankfully, the latest expansion has ensured that Cyberpunk 2077 received the finale it deserved before the studio moved on to explore new projects.
