Capcom Recently Showed Intent to Make Pragmata A Proper Franchise!

Story Highlight
  • Pragmata has sold 2 million copies in almost 2 weeks since it was officially released.
  • The title also received great reviews and has been tipped for a GOTY nomination.
  • This was Capcom’s 3rd release of the year, with all of them being massive hits.

Capcom is having one of the best years in its history, where all 3 of its releases in 2026 have been instant hits. It started with Resident Evil Requiem, then Monster Hunter Stories 3, and now its brand new sci-fi IP, Pragmata.

The studio has officially revealed that Pragmata has now sold 2 million copies in just over 2 weeks. The game has also received glowing reviews from critics and the general audience, and has even been tipped for a GOTY nomination.

Why it matters: For context, this is Capcom’s 5th game in a row since last year to feature an over 80 score on Metacritic, and with that, the sales have been thriving, making it yet another hugely successful year for the company.

Pragmata has already sold over 2 million copies

Capcom announced Pragmata’s 2 million milestone through its official website. To celebrate the occasion, the studio revealed a life-sized statue of Diana from the game, holding a thank-you note for the sales numbers.

Before it was released, the title was already being called the studio’s most experimental project to date. A demo was also released, which was also very well received, drawing many towards buying the full game.

With Resident Evil Requiem having sold 7 million copies, and now Pragmata crossing 2 million, Capcom isn’t even done with the year yet. It still has Onimusha Way of the Sword planned, which comes out later this year.
