- Capcom recently released Pragmata to massive critical and commercial success.
- The studio is now planning to make its sci-fi title a complete franchise.
- The Capcom USA COO praised the studio for great games with huge potential.
For a new IP, Capcom’s sci-fi title, Pragmata, has been an absolute blast. With over a million copies sold in just a couple of days and outstanding reviews, it has taken the gaming world by storm, and it’s only the start.
In a recent interview, Capcom suggested that they are at a point where their new IP, Pragmata, could be turned into a proper franchise. The game, as said before, has been a huge success, and the studio wants to capitalise on it.
Why it matters: This will be just another addition to the jam-packed lineup of huge franchises that Capcom already owns, which includes Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Onimusha, and many more.

Rob Dyer, COO of Capcom USA, (via GameFile) revealed that Pragmata becoming a franchise is on the cards. He praised the studio and stated that they have many successful franchises and are continuing to add more.
We’re to a point now where we’ve got another IP (Pragmata) that Capcom, and god bless them, has an arsenal that we can continue to go down.

This means that the new sci-fi franchise has a bright future ahead. Almost 2 weeks since release, the title is still among the top-sellers on Steam, as it continues to do well. It only makes sense to take advantage of that.
Now, this by no means confirms that a sequel is already in development. The plans are there and will likely become a reality, but based on how busy Capcom is with other projects, we might need to wait years for the next gam.
