God of War 3 Remastered Now Fully Playable on PC Via Unofficial Port

You Will Need Official PS4 Game Files to Run it on PC!

Story Highlight
  • A developer has released a fully playable native God of War 3 Remastered port on PC.
  • It does require an original dump file from PS4, since it works like a native game.
  • The dev has also added new features like FSR, cheats, mods, and more to the game.

God of War is undoubtedly one of the best and most popular franchises of all time. It has never really missed the mark, either with the newer or classic releases. The original games weren’t native to PC, but they’ve found a way onto the platform.

Originally released on PS4, God of War 3 has now received an unofficial PC port and is playable from start to finish on Windows PCs. The developer has reported excellent performance, getting 100+ FPS on mid-range hardware.

Why it matters: The only games in the franchise natively available on PC are the two newer ones, when Sony decided to go multiplatform. They’ve now changed the policy, meaning no more PS games on PC.

Felipe Prado, the developer, used Claude Opus 5.5 as a coding assistant, making the game fully playable on PC. There are minor hiccups with crashes and textures, but overall this seems like a solid unofficial port.

The project is open source, and you can download it from GitHub, but you do need your own dump of the PS4 game. It runs just like the console did, directly on the PC’s processor, which matches the console’s x86-64 architecture.

The game runs at all sorts of resolutions up to 4K, with 120 and even 240 FPS support. The developer has also added extras like a new menu enabling cheats, performance monitoring, FSR, mod support, and more.

It’s a bummer that you won’t be able to use it without having a PS4 copy. But it’s also the right way to go about things, since in this way this isn’t really piracy, but rather a complete port, just developed for PC hardware.
