The Fastest-Selling Game In The Series Still Going Strong!

Story Highlight
  • Resident Evil Requiem has managed to surpass 7 million sales in less than 2 months.
  • Just a few weeks ago, Capcom’s horror hit achieved the 6 million sales milestone.
  • It is also considered a solid contender for the Game of the Year award for 2026.

Resident Evil Requiem has helped hit a peak for the series. While it was already massive, the latest title even opened the horror franchise to an even bigger audience. And that is clearly evident in its sales, which don’t seem to be slowing at all.

The fastest-selling game in the series history has now gone on to sell over 7 million copies in just under a couple of months. It reached the 6 million milestone just a few weeks back, so the momentum is still going strong.

Why it matters: Capcom has had a fantastic year with Requiem being at the center of it all. Its other releases, Pragmata and Monster Hunter Stories 3, have been hits too, with Onimusha still to come later this year.

Requiem has surpassed 7 million sales

Game director Koshi Nakanishi posted a story on Instagram with 2 cakes: one for Leon and one for Grace, celebrating 7 million sales for the title. This marks a great milestone, with Requiem showcasing brilliant longevity.

It was also among the top 3 highest-selling games in the US in March, and the hot streak continues with eyes straight towards 10 million sales. The game is also a solid contender for the Game of the Year award for 2026.

Resident Evil Requiem
Leon’s return in Resident Evil Requiem played a big role in the game’s success.

Capcom isn’t done with the game either, as there are reports that a Mercenaries mode is coming. Additionally, a DLC is also confirmed, which has been tipped to bring back one of the fan favorite characters, Ada Wong.
