Elon Musk says that forcing DEI and other narratives into games kills the art.
He said it kicks you out of the story and feels like you’re being lectured by someone.
The X boss also demanded that this ideology be removed and video games made great again.
DEI has become a huge topic in the industry ever since companies started pushing various agendas into gaming. While everyone has their opinion on it, most believe it destroys games. Even Tesla and X owner, Elon Musk seems to think the same.
Why it matters: Forcing inclusivity into gaming is a recipe for disaster as we have seen with recent games like Concord. Most think that it takes the narrative in a very different direction and kills art.
Elon Musk says forcing DEI into games kills the art
Elon Musk took to X to address his concerns about the trend of forcing DEI into gaming. He said that once you forcibly impose the ‘Woke Virus’ in a game, it kills the art. It cancels out the story and makes it feel like you’re being lectured.
Make Video Games Great Again! The problem with the DEI and the woke mind virus is that it kills the art
– Elon Musk
Many people have certain disagreements with Musk, however in this case many appear to be supporting him. The audience defended the take and reiterated that forced DEI is something that makes gaming a lot less fun.
Forcing inclusivity into gaming has become very common
Some developers have even started speaking out against this ever-increasing trend. Recently Ori game director also said that he won’t even force DEI into their games as it makes a mockery out of their work.
However, if DEI is implemented naturally and goes with the flow of the game it isn’t a bad thing. Some of the best games of this generation have had DEI, but they weren’t affected because it didn’t go out of the way and complemented the plot.
Nonetheless, as forced DEI becomes more mainstream, it is interesting to see that many people are speaking against it, and the fans share their thoughts as well.

Black Myth: Wukong is arguably the biggest hit of 2024.
The developer behind this game is Game Science who didn’t previously make any ambitious games.
Despite that, the developer wasn’t nominated for Studio of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards.
Black Myth: Wukong’s hype even 2 months after launch isn’t dead. In fact, its 24-hour peak is still over 165K which is uncommon for a single-player game. This shows that the developer behind this game Game Science really worked hard on this title.
However, despite such hard work and being recognized by millions of gamers throughout the world, the developer wasn’t nominated for the Studio of the Year category at the Golden Joystick Awards.
Why it matters: Game Science never worked on any ambitious title before and yet it managed to create such a masterpiece that broke almost every single record on Steam.
Game Science Wasn’t Nominated for Studio of the Year At Golden Joystick Awards
At the Golden Joystick Awards 2024, Game Science wasn’t nominated as the Studio of the Year. This award means so much to the studios as it gives them even more recognition. However, a studio that came out of nowhere that no one knew about managed to create a game like Black Myth: Wukong.
The only studios nominated are Visual Concepts, 11 Bit Studios, Capcom, Arrow Head Game Studios, Digital Eclipse, and Team Asobi.
It might seem unfair to exclude such a studio from the list. Game Science did not have prior experience in making a game of such scale and still managed to create a title that millions have appreciated.
You can see the sales for yourself. The game sold over 10 Million copies in just 3 days rivaling the likes of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Nintendo has garnered the fandom of Zelda over decades.
That is why the sales in 3 days were that high. However, Game Science did no such thing and yet managed to garner such a massive fandom. The fans also might not agree with excluding the developer from this category as it truly deserves to be nominated.
What do you think of Golden Joystick Awards not nominating Game Science for Studio of the Year? Do you think it is unfair? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below or join the official Tech4Gamers forums.

The GeForce RTX 5090 has shown up in a leaked video, and it looks massive.
This leak comes from a Zotac testing facility and shows a single 12V-2×6 connector for the GPU.
PC gamers can expect even more detailed leaks soon.
Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5090 has been the subject of many rumors recently. Expected to be a major step up over its predecessor, this GPU has everyone’s attention when it comes to Nvidia’s next-generation lineup.
Amid the anticipation, a new video has also given audiences their first look at the GeForce RTX 5090, and it’s massive.
Why it matters: The GeForce RTX 4090 was an exciting launch from Nvidia. Many are curious to see how the gaming giant will one-up itself for the successor to offer even more immersive 4K gaming.
The images were originally shared on the Chiphell forums. It is said that this first look comes from a Zotac facility in Indonesia, indicating that Nvidia is nearly ready for the next generation.
A video uploaded on Bilibili shows an even better look at the card, revealing a massive chassis. It also shows that the 12V-2×6 connector is making a return, though the GeForce RTX 5090 will only require one such connector.
With the GPU’s chassis no longer a secret, more leaks will show up over the next few months. Moreover, this video means that Nvidia is in the final phases of testing before commencing mass production.
The gaming giant is said to be launching more than just the GeForce RTX 5090 next year, with the other options arriving on the market just months apart. As such, PC gamers should expect similar leaks for the rest of the Blackwell gaming lineup.

AMD is expected to officially reveal the Ryzen 7 9800X3D in the coming days.
This chip has been spotted with a 4.7GHz base clock speed and a 120W TDP.
Fans hope to see the new x3D series performing much better than the previous Zen 5 releases.
Following disappointing results over the already-solid Ryzen 7000 lineup, the Ryzen 9000 CPUs has seen rapid price cuts and discounts recently.
Fans have now turned their attention to the 3D V-Cache options for Zen 5 CPUs, hoping that the likes of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D fare better. With AMD expected to officially unveil this chip next week, leaks have pointed to a major bump in clock speed, creating buzz within the community.
Why it matters: AMD’s Zen 5 lineup of processors debuted earlier this year, but the new chips left much to be desired.
The CPU Was Leaked via Maxsun’s AM5 Support list
Leaked ahead of time by an official Maxsun document, the upcoming processor is said to support a base clock speed of 4.7GHz. For reference, this is a 300Mhz boost over the standard Ryzen 7 9700X.
The last-generation Ryzen 7 7800X3D also ran at a much more modest base clock of 4.2GHz. According to leaks, the upcoming chip still sports 96MB of L3 cache, but AMD has added an extra 8MB of L2 cache to bring the total up to 104MB of cache.
Elsewhere, the TDP has remained at 120W. When combined, this should lead to solid improvements in gaming workloads, particularly with games becoming more CPU-dependent in recent years.
If marketed right, the upcoming CPUs could also give AMD a competitive advantage over Intel after the Core Ultra 200 lineup showed disappointing results compared to its predecessors.
It should be noted that MaxSun listing the CPU as the ‘Ryzen 9 9800X3D’ is likely an error. Moreover, this listing means that no other x3D chips are launching for the time being, making the Ryzen 7 9800X3D the only upcoming option.

The next Naughty Dog project is said to offer a lot of player freedom.
Positive remarks were mentioned about the game without revealing any specific details.
Rumors have suggested that Naughty Dog is currently brewing a sci-fi title.
Naughty Dog has been quite silent in the current generation when it comes to releasing games in the new franchises. However, the studio appears to be preparing for something big behind the curtains.
Rumors have suggested that it is working on a new IP, and new details that were recently revealed might have further solidified that notion. The studio’s next game seemingly prioritizes a lot of ‘player freedom.’
Why it matters: The positive rumors regarding the upcoming project suggest we might be in for a treat after such a long wait.
Many positive remarks were recently mentioned about the project without delving too deeply into details.
As clarified by MinnMax Show host Ben Hanson on YouTube, the tone he heard regarding the title suggests that we are not ready for how amazing the game is going to be. It was seemingly compared to a game that offers a lot of player freedom.

According to a new report, Alien Isolation’s original developers are no longer at Creative Assembly.
Job listings also suggest that the sequel will emphasize diversity and inclusivity.
More information on the game is expected in the years to follow.
Following a long hiatus, Alien Isolation is set to make its grand return in the future. The franchise officially received confirmation of a sequel last month, with Creative Assembly confirming that more information would be shared in due time.
However, a new leak seems to be spilling the beans on the sequel’s production ahead of time. According to a leaker, Alien Isolation 2 will be handled by a completely different team.
Why it matters: Many consider the original game the pinnacle of survival horror. With a new team leading the sequel, it remains to be seen if the franchise will return to its former glory.
The latest information about Alien Isolation 2 comes from an insider on 4Chan. He states that around 10% of Creative Assembly’s developers who worked on the original survival horror title are still part of the team.
Among the major developers, the Lead AI Programmer who pioneered the iconic double AI system has departed, too. The leaker further elaborates that nearly everyone from the original programming team has left the studio.
Elsewhere, the leaker uses job listings to confirm the use of Unreal Engine 5 for Alien Isolation 2. Creative Assembly’s job listing also highlighted a similar focus on diversity and inclusionas other developers, suggesting that diversity will play a significant role in development.
The team could even turn to the controversial Sweet Baby Inc. for consultation as part of this effort. Another recent job listing on the developer’s website indicates a similar goal.
Since Alien Isolation 2 has just begun development, not much else is known about the game. However, fans are still delighted to see the return of one of horror gaming’s biggest icons.
Creative Assembly will share more details eventually, but there’s never been a better time to replay the original Alien Isolation.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been nominated for the Most Wanted Game category at Golen Joystick Awards.
Other nominees include games like GTA 6, Fable, Doom: The Dark Ages, Death Stranding 2, and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
You can vote up to three of your most wanted games in this category.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is arguably the most controversial and hated game of this year. The game hasn’t even been released yet, and the hatred behind it is unreal. Ubisoft is the only one to be blamed for the massive controversy still surrounding this title.
Due to recent failures, the company decided to delay the upcoming Assassin’s Creed and release it on day one on Steam in early 2025. However, fans are still pretty angry; especially the Japanese fans.
Despite that, it has been nominated as the Most Wanted Game at the Golden Joystick Awards 2024.
Why it matters: The controversy surrounding Assasisn’s Creed Shadows isn’t going anywhere soon, so fans are confused about how this game could be nominated in such a category.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Has Been Nominated As The ‘Most Wanted Game’ At Golden Joystick Awards 2024
20 games have been nominated in this category, and AC Shadows is among them. This might raise some eyebrows as games like Wuchang: Fallen Feathers aren’t even on the list. However, the rest 19 games seem to have been among those that fans have been anticipating for a while now.
So, looking at the other nominees, it seems like the nominations are fair, but fans might not be able to wrap their heads around the ‘apparent fact’ that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is one of the most wanted games.
The game is reportedly suffering from poor pre-orders, and the Yasuke controversy is continuing. Even after a lot of hate, Ubisoft has no intentions of changing the main lead, but it might tone down Yasuke’s role.
Nonetheless, we hope the game doesn’t suffer much from the controversy and Ubisoft goes back to its roots.

Bloober Team has admitted that it has made some “shitty games,” but it is aiming to move past that era.
The studio wants to enter a much-needed redemption arc with the announcement of Cronos: The New Dawn.
The studio also clarified that the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake was not a fluke by any means.
Bloober Team has had many highs and lows over the years. While some of its games were absolute gems to experience over the years, others completely fell short of fans’ expectations. However, the studio has arguably entered a new age after the massive success of Silent Hill 2 Remake, claiming that it wants to experience a much-needed redemption arc.
The devs have recently announced Cronos: The New Dawn, a twisted time travel story set in an unforgiving post-apocalyptic future in 1980s Poland. With that, Bloober Team has claimed that it is done making “shitty games” and wants to move past that era.
Why it matters: Bloober Team’s admittance to making mediocre titles in the past and trying to move past that era suggests that the studio is in high spirits after the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake.
Silent Hill 2 Remake has been a massive success among new and old players.
In a new interview with GameSpot, Bloober Team clarified that the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake was not a fluke by any means. It worked extremely hard to renovate the highly beloved IP, and it paid off. The studio claims to have found its niche and now wants to evolve with it.
“Like with [2016’s] Layers of Fear, people in the studio were like, ‘Okay, we made some shitty games before, but we [can] evolve.’
Bloober Team now features a motley of developers who love the horror genre, and the studio sees no point in switching to other genres. Therefore, it is entirely possible that we see even more Silent Hill games in the future.

Sony could benefit more from Black Ops 6 despite Xbox owning the IP.
Game Pass growth has been stagnant, and Xbox has invested massively in the acquisition.
A substantial increase in Game Pass subscribers due to Black Ops 6 could turn the equation around.
Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard was a huge moment in the gaming industry. The $69 billion buyout saw Xbox become the owner of massive IPs like Call of Duty. Finally, with Black Ops 6, the franchise is officially releasing day 1 on Game Pass.
However, analysts predict that despite spending so much money on the acquisition, Sony might be the ultimate benefactor of Black Ops 6 and not Xbox.
Why it matters: Despite receiving 70% of the revenue from Call of Duty sales compared to PlayStation’s 30%, Xbox has to consider many things. This could lead to Sony eventually earning a higher profit.
Black Ops 6 could benefit PlayStation more than Xbox
According to an analyst at Gamesindustry.biz, PlayStation could end up making more money from Call of Duty despite Xbox owning the IP. The major reason for that is the investments Xbox has put in.
PlayStation would only get the profit, while Xbox had to pay an enormous amount for Activision Blizzard, then they have to keep it on the Game Pass, leading to most profit being canceled out by the bigger investments they have done.
Game Pass has been stagnant in growth for a very long time time. By putting Call of Duty on the service, Xbox is hoping it can once again expand it. However, the move could trigger really badly if, there is still no increase.
PlayStation has much higher Call of Duty sales
PlayStation has a wider audience for Call of Duty, and because they don’t need to invest much, they will be making huge revenue out of it. However, as you don’t have to pay the $70 price tag if you have a Game Pass subscription, more people could shift towards it.
If the equation remains the same, PlayStation would be the ultimate benefactor. Who do you think would benefit more from this situation, Xbox or PlayStation? Let us know in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.

Bandai Namco has already supported multiple games for several years.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is next and will almost certainly follow suit.
Between new characters, additional modes, and balance patches, a lot can be added to the game.
Following Dragon Ball Sparking Zero’s release, no amount of praise is seemingly enough for this smash hit. From positive reviews to record-breaking sales, everything points to a huge cash cow for Bandai Namco.
It’s only fitting, then, that the team do its best to support Sparking Zero for years to come. While live-service Dragon Ball might not seem like an obvious pick, Bandai Namco has already dialed up its efforts to keep current titles going for multiple years.
After Dragon Ball’s latest arena fighter success, it only makes sense for Sparking Zero to be next.
Why it matters: Having sold 3 million units after hitting all-time high concurrent player counts on Steam, this arena fighter has the potential to stay relevant for years.
Bandai Namco’s Secret Live Service Empire
Tekken 8 Is Just Getting Started
Bandai Namco typically goes under the radar when thinking of live service, but there has been a visible shift in the team’s approach in recent years. Its latest releases have all received much more support than one would imagine, giving the publisher multiple IPs to support around the GAAS (Games As A Service) model.
Take Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash, for instance. Far from a resounding success, this game received plenty of criticism industry-wide. Yet, it is somehow still receiving new content nearly a full year later, with Miwa being the latest free character.
Elsewhere, Tekken 8 is expected to last multiple years. Even a game like Naruto Storm Connections is likely to receive support for another year. However, here comes the biggest shocker.
Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, launched in 2018, is still receiving new content a whopping six years later.
Dragon Ball’s Live Service Success
The live-service concept is relatively new for Dragon Ball games. While an online-focused game like Xenoverse was quickly left behind, the sequel stands in stark contrast to that approach.
Having been released in 2016, Xenoverse 2 continues to stand tall 8 years later, and Dimps has already confirmed more upcoming content as part of Future Saga Chapter 2. Yes, I’m as shocked as you are, and to be honest, there’s no telling how many more years Xenoverse 2 will go on for.
For context, Xenoverse 2 has added around 50 DLC characters, in addition to story mode expansions, costumes, and a lot more. In many ways, Xenoverse 2 has a more expansive roster than Sparking Zero.
Perhaps an even more interesting example of Bandai Namco’s live service goals is the single-player RPG Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. Despite arriving in 2020, this RPG is still receiving DLC episodes today, with the recent announcement confirming new Dragon Ball Daima content.
Oh, and in case you had any doubts, Daima content is also coming to Xenoverse 2 because, of course, it is. Anyhow, this focus should lead to similar treatment for Sparking Zero.
The Future of Sparking Zero
Many Characters Can Still Be Added To The Roster | Image via Tech4Gamers
This leaves us with the question of Sparking Zero’s potential future. Additional character DLC is the easy guess and the most basic type of DLC I expect to see added in the future. However, there’s potential to do so much more.
In terms of the characters, Beast Gohan is the obvious pick that fans want to see. At present, Bandai Namco has confirmed Vegeta from Daima as one of the future characters, but the rest of the cast remains a mystery.
As the roster stands today, a few important characters are still missing from the game. ChiChi, King Piccolo, and others from the original Dragon Ball would be welcome. I would also love to see Super Saiyan Bardock in the roster, in addition to the fan-favorite Pikkon.
If Spike Chunsoft wants to get a little creative, the studio can even consider guest characters since Tenkaichi 3 featured Arale from Akira Toriyama’s Dr. Slump. FighterZ’s Android 21 would be a good pick here since she has already shown up in Xenoverse 2 before.
Moving away from the characters, plenty can still be done elsewhere. For instance, both Xenoverse 2 and Kakarot added extra card-based PvP modes over their lifecycles, with the latter also receiving online gameplay to accommodate this mode.
A similarly creative add-on would go a long way tokeeping the Sparking Zero experience fresh and giving players something to break the monotony of the core gameplay.
Personally, I really want to see co-op PvP added for online battles to allow for 3v3 shenanigans with 6 actual players. Of course, a fewbalance updates are also a must.
Whatever direction the team goes, the sky is the limit for future content. Looking at Bandai Namco’s history, I’m confident that we’ll be playing Sparking Zero for a long while, and with the game being as good as it is, I have nothing to complain about.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been officially announced for PC 1 year after its release.
While PC fans are pretty happy with this announcement PlayStation fans aren’t
The latter thinks that PS5 holds no value anymore as all the exclusives will eventually be on PC.
It has been a year since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released and Sony decided to surprise the PC fans on its anniversary. The gaming giant has announced that the game’s PC Port will be released on January 30.
While PC gamers are delighted to hear this news PlayStation fans aren’t; in fact, they are furious. PlayStation fans have shown their frustration on social media claiming that PS5 holds no value anymore and they were expecting a DLC, not a PC port.
Why it matters: Fans don’t think there is any benefit left for the PlayStation 5 as the interval between PS5 and PC release is shrinking rapidly.
PlayStation Exclusive List is Getting Smaller Rapidly
On the official PC Port announcement from PlayStation Twitter account the fandom has shown their frustration clearly. Some fans are claiming it to be a trash decision and asking where is the DLC.

Some are even claiming that the list the exclusive list is shrinking even more. Fans are now trolling the gaming giant by saying rather than making a DLC Hermen would prefer to invest another $200 million in its baby Concord.

Some users are confused with Sony’s strategy. They wonder that if PS5 Pro is more powerful than 90% of PC’s survey by Steam so why would Sony release its games on PC? Most of them are more angry due to the announcement being made so soon.
Fans Are Confused With Sony’s Exclusives Strategy
Ghost of Tsushima was released on PC after 4 years whereas God of Ragnarok was released after 2 years. So, PS5 fans might have been hoping that a PC port announcement won’t be made for at least one more year.
Some even think that the whole source code being leaked previously forced Sony to announce it sooner. The PlayStation fans’ anger seems fair as they were anticipating DLCs for the game but the developer seems to have scrapped them in favor of a PC port.
